But there was a chili cook-off happening between all the restaurants in the food court, which was far more fun. It was pretty funny seeing a Ramen restaurant trying to produce a version of chili! It did give a chance to visit most of the food establishments in the place, which was interesting. The building is open and airy. I'm not sure what it was before, as I'm not from the area and it looks like it's a renovated version of something, but it was a nice place to spend a few hours. The only thing I thought was odd is I never found out who won the chili contest. They didn't announce it after the event, nor post it on their Facebook page (which is how I found the craft event). I took a star off this place as they're very unresponsive to customers. I messaged twice with no reply. It would have been nice had they announced who won their promotional chili cook-off.

When I was there there was a Ramen spot, a BBQ, and Mediterranean place. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area. They have some areas of central seating and I imagine there is some outdoor seating in the warmer seasons.

With few establishments open due to COVID, I noticed a few spots inside this food court (including chinese, italian, coffee, and a mediterranean spot). My sight was set on "pita fresh," a spot run by an older gentlemen who clearly works hard to make you happy. Offering to place any toppings onto my salad without incurring an additional charge, he created my salad essentially from scratch - using an unopened bag of lettuce, hand slicing fresh tomatoes, cucumbers and pickles. He placed a good amount of dressing and in the end, my salad felt priceless. Extremely fresh, hearty, and tasty despite feeling like I'm 'in the middle of nowhere' (I'm living in the New York City folks and I deserve to be judged). It's amazing this place does not have more reviews. The place is clean, safe, spacious and well equipped to handle a range of food tastes from Chinese to Italian to mediterranean. On top of all this - their coffee shop (called "Crepe Soleil") offers an abundance of coffee flavors including salted caramel and toasted marshmallow. A+, don't miss this place whether you're in-town for the skiing or shopping.

You know, it's your typical American kind of food court vibes inside shopping malls/outlets and casinos. Ambiance is nothing fancy but practical and gets the job done. As for the service wise, it really depends on whom you get at the cashier that day. Some will greet customers or none at all, some will give you an attitude or the brightest smile that they have. As for my cold-cut lunch, I bought a roast beef + Swiss cheese sandwich on a kaiser roll with romaine lettuce, and tomato slices. Comes in a plastic container that has a packet of spicy brown mustard tucked right next to the sandwich. It's cut exactly down the middle so all the ingredients look very much symmetrical to the other side. Everything looks super fresh especially the bread, cheese, and roast beef. Makes me feel peaceful looking at the identicalness of the sandwich. I'm glad that there's a clearly printed label (as a sticker) on the sandwich container indicating the nutrition facts, allergens and ingredients so people can avoid any food allergies they might have. Took a huge bite into the sandwich and you can get a balanced ratio of the roast beef and cheese in every bite since everything looks equally identical to the other side. It costs $10.20 so good thing it's a huge chunk of meat instead of only two thin slices to make it more worthwhile for what you're paying. Would say that it's very delicious and fulfilling and hits just the right spot for a quick lunch or dinner.

My dining companion and I both thought the food should have tasted better. I'm a big fan of roast pork and broccoli rabe sandwiches, so I opted for the "Rabe" ($13.50), with slow-roasted pulled pork, sautéed broccoli rabe, and garlic aioli served on a flatbread. Unfortunately... my sandwich was practically inedible because the pork tasted VERY salty and the sautéed broccoli rabe had little flavor at all. I didn't finish the sandwich, even though I was pretty hungry. Thankfully, I had added a small order of plain tater tots ($4.75) which were actually pretty good. My dining companion opted to start with a cup of the gluten-free/dairy-free "Almost Famous Tomato Bisque" ($6.50 for a cup), but was put off by the strong taste of a spice that tasted like cumin (a big turnoff for her) and didn't finish the soup. She also ordered the Breakfast Grilled Cheese ($9.50), made with two fried eggs and melted American cheese on grilled toast, which she did enjoy. I'll give the cooking staff the benefit of the doubt considering we stopped in for a late dinner about two and a half hours before closing and might've just gotten a disappointing batch of pulled pork and soup that had been made earlier and the flavors deteriorated as they sat all day, but.. probably won't try the Pork Shack again, given plenty of other options to try at the Ferry Market. When the credit card receipt was emailed to me afterwards.. the 6% Pennsylvania sales tax on prepared foods was labelled only as "The Pork Shack", which initially made me think they had added additional service charge until I did my own research on Pennsylvania sales and use tax. It shouldn't require a CPA to figure that out. Pro Tip #1: Download the ParkMobile app. You can pay via the ParkMobile app whether you park in the small private parking lot adjacent to the Ferry Market food hall, one of the nearby public lots (Union Square Lot @ 123 West Bridge Street), or metered on-street parking. Parking in one of the public lots or on the street in New Hope is $3.00/hour (up to a maximum of 3 hours) plus a $0.45 service charge for using the ParkMobile app.
