One negative point is that my chicken and fries were a little bit cold as my personal preference is to eat food at a hot temperature. As soon as you walk in the door, you are greeted and made to feel welcomed by the employee at the register and they are always friendly and helpful. Chicken was good, but it was a little powdery, a little excess on the spice powder Ingredient, less would've been better it is still very good though. We especially appreciate the late night hours well beyond 10PM for us locals here in SLO. The establishment itself is fun/clean/well thought out though the line can build awkwardly close to the front doors of the main entrance when it's busier. Always enjoy the 'hot' level slider, fries, and always recommend a few sides of Dave's sauce. This spot is always killer and hopefully will be a reliable hot chicken take out spot for years to come! Similar to Canes in the style but miles apart when it comes to flavor. Nothing wrong with Canes but when you can dial in the level of heat you want for the breading on those juicy, piping hot checked tenders, well...it's a different game altogether. The fries were similar too. Dave's gives a piece of white bread with their meals. I "wonder" why? Not for me. Canes had those crazy toasted bread offerings so it's not a match on this one. I got the single slider in a "hot" and it was the perfect spicyness! Definitely packs a punch but it's still flavorful and not just dumb hot! Chicken was good, perfectly and the whole sandwich was really tasty. My only critique is that the slaw is kind of just there! They need to put more slaw on or leave it off because it doesn't really add much. There also needs to be a tad bit more Dave's sauce! Overall really tasty meal and you should check it out! This is apparently is a well known fast food chain on the west coast. Big parking , so you do not have to use Public transport to get there. Staff was courteous and helpful. The fries were crispy and well seasoned, the crinkle cut variety. The strip came with a piece of white bread. The slider had the nice little slaw on it, and I would probably get the sliders again over the strip simply because the white bread was dry. Overall, the chicken flavor is solid. It's a tough category since SLO has some other great chicken places. And the price feels a bit much...$35 once you add in my wife's chincy three bite kale salad for three bucks.
