They can actually get the chicken really spot-on. Their rub is more of a wet rub than a dry rub. I wish they seasoned their fries with the same rub as the chicken. Cool thing is you can actually get the Dave's bites in multiples of 5. Which isn't outright advertised on the menu. The extra hot is like 1 seedless habanero worth of heat. It always feels like summertime when we eat at Dave's! Such a fun vibe- cool and clever aesthetic with graffiti art and neon colors! Love that they're open until 1am, even on weekdays! This is also very dangerous lol The service staff are friendly and do not skimp on providing extra packages of honey! Dave's do nottt mess with heat levels! A friend and I shared the #2 meal with two sliders and fries. It was enough to fill us up but we weren't stuffed. I think if there were a few more fries, it would have been a good meal to share. For me, it wasn't exactly the same. Food was okay. Their product seems to rival Cane's, except their signature is the dry rub on their chicken. I got chicken bites. One friend got chicken tenders. And two friends got the chicken burgers. Fries were good and crunchy. My chicken bites were okay. The rub felt very rubbery or chalky on my tongue and cheeks. The chicken was tender. I heard so many good things so I decided to try them for lunch. I got a two strip (lite spice) with fries, side of Mac & cheese, and a rocket pop slushy. It was all in at $30-ish. A bit pricey imho, but I wanted to splurge for lunch today and try something new. Headed back to work and dove in. I'll be completely honest. For the amount of food I received, I felt this was too expensive. I did lite spice to my strips, and while they weren't spicy, to my taste they were just a bit too salty. Fortunately I asked for some honey, and drizzling it onto the strips helped offset the saltiness. The amount of Mac & cheese was so small for how much it cost. And I'm sorry to be such a downer, but it didn't really taste much different than Mac & cheese from KFC. Fries were ok, standard fare wrinkle-cut. They had some seasoning which I think was a bit salty as well. But dipping them in ketchup helped. The rocket pop slushy was delicious though! This too was a bit expensive for how much they give, but this got the spot on a pretty warm day. I might go back to see if their seasoning really is salty, or perhaps that was just the day I visited. Though I feel it's a just a tad too expensive, I will absolutely come back and try the other slushy drinks. The Hi-C orange slush drink sounds delicious. read more

We come here pretty often because I love Dave's and this location is the closest to our house but the staff isn't so welcoming . We always see the short Mexican guy wearing all black late nights , assuming he's the manager . He never smiles or even seems like he wants to be there . ALWAYS has an attitude , I never want to ask him for anything cause once he gives us our order he turns his back to us . Never puts anything in the bag for us . If you don't want us to linger in the store , maybe you should put the ketchup and napkins in the bag for us .. maybe ask if we want more sauce ? some type of hospitality. I wanted to grab a quick lunch and decided to finally try the new Dave's Hot Chicken in the Rivermark Plaza. The waiter who took my order was super nice and gave me a few suggestions since it was my first time here. I ended up ordering the #4, which is one slider with fries. It was prepared super quickly and the same waiter came over and mixed their signature sauce with a honey packet and told me it was a really popular combination to try with the fries- and he was so right! The slider was really good, packed with flavor, and the chicken tender itself was very juicy. The only thing I would suggest would be if to add more coleslaw to the slider. Came on a weekend lunch time at around 11:30 am with some coworkers to avoid the lunch rush. The interior is nice and has a street style design on the walls. The tables and everything was really clean. I ordered Dave's #4, which is one slider with fries for $9.99. I added cheese for an additional $0.69. For the slider, I got it with medium spice. I think I have a decent spice tolerance so I would get spicy or maybe even extra spicy next time. We waited about 5 minutes after ordering to get the food. The staff was friendly and I wasn't expecting them to stop by tables and ask us if we needed anything or if the food is alright, so that was really nice of them. I like their fries which are crinkle cut fries fried to a nice crispiness outside with the soft potato on the inside. Their burgers are decent too but I liked their fries more. They had their special house sauce which paired perfectly with the fries and burgers. The employee who gave me the food gave me some honey packets. At first, I thought it was a bit weird to add honey to the special sauce but I tried it and ended up really enjoying it, which surprised me a bit. Also, random observation: the pickles here are bigger than other locations for some reason? Love that. The meals are affordable and there's lots of seating here. Second time here I tried online ordering since I had my dog with me. There's a convenient pickup window--sort of like a drive thru window but for walking. My order was ready on time and was still warm/hot once I got home to eat. Food overall was pretty good. Chicken so far have been good size tenders, was provided plenty of pickles, and the chicken and fries were well seasoned. The mac and cheese is pretty standard and cheesy. The milkshake is also alright--I think it's from a soft serve machine and they mix it but I could be mistaken. I would say that i don't think getting a slider is worth it, just because in comparison of my friends plate who got the Dave's #1, the size of the tenders were really different. I'm assuming sliders are made with smaller tenders, to fit in the bun, which makes sense. But price wise, I think it's more worth it to get tenders instead. Nonetheless, it is good chicken. It's warmth paired perfectly with the thousand island. Honestly, the #2 with two sliders are more than enough to feed two people. We got a slider in medium and mild, for me, medium was the perfect punch of flavor while not being too overwhelming. My only gripe with the sliders is that the temperature distribution is weird, with the bottom half, including the cheese, being very cold and the top half being very hot. In addition, cheese is .75 per combo (not slider) and I could barely taste it with the chicken being very thick. The chicken tender is the slider without the bread, coleslaw and sauce. Overall, very fun and enjoyable experience. For things to do around the area, the plaza is conveniently located next to a public library, twenty minutes away from a park that was once a mental hospital, and Safeway for your different needs! read more

The inside is painted a frenetic energy reminiscing of a marvel comics intro. I can envision the space to be a bustling location, at least to start off. The menu is super simple - just four combo choices then a short a La carte menu. Here's what I sampled: Slider - Mini chicken hamburger with kale slaw and pickles. I like the reasonableness of the portion so it's something that anyone can digest in a single seating. The heat comes in the form of a powder rub rather than a slimy sauce so the experience is certainly cleaner than your typical all you can eat hot wings restaurant. Tender - Really just a version of the slider without the bun and slaw. They actually put a slice of bread underneath. 'Hot' gives a decent burn and the rub is reminiscing of Indian spices. The chicken itself is pretty tender and juicy. Fries - Wavy cut and fried to an nice crisp. Excellent. This might be my go-to afternoon snack moving forward... will try the cheese fries next time. Maybe close to midnight.... Kale slaw - Fresh, cool and light with the dressing. Really yummy. Highly recommended to alleviate the impending post-meal guilt.
