Shoutout to Jose at Togo's in Santa Clara! Every time I walk in, he greets me with great energy and such a positive attitude. Honestly, I almost go as much for the experience of seeing him as I do for the food. They even call him the funny guy or the paper bag guy because right before he puts your order in the bag, he flips it up behind his back. It is always cool to see and just adds to the whole experience. He works fast, keeps things fun, and makes every visit enjoyable. 3194 De La Cruz Blvd Santa Clara, CA 95054 This is the Togo's Sandwiches at De La Cruz Blvd & Laurelwood Rd. It's in a commercial/ industrial area, and near the Hwy 101 x West Trimble ramps. I was there at 3pm on a Friday. Sunny skies and temps near 70*F. I walked in and was immediately surprised at how big the place is. Don't let the small storefront fool you. This Togo's goes all the way to the other side of the building. There's a back entrance, so you can use the large rear parking lot. I looked at the menu board, and asked for a "Pastrami Cheese Steak, Regular, on Sourdough, Togo's style." You know, I didn't realize I was ordering the most expensive sandwich on the board....($14.50/ Reg). The sandwich maker was friendly and offered me all the options for my sandwich. He told me that this location was about 40 yrs old. He said they do 100's of orders in the morning and at lunch. As I was about to pay, he offered me a free soda. How was the sandwich? This sandwich was loaded with meat! Very tasty and neatly made. But for $14.50, seems like it should include chips and soda. Also, the dining room wasn't super clean and polished like other Togo's. Togo's was a childhood favorite of mine, and I haven't been back in years. My boss is new to the area so I wanted him to try out new things, and I suggested this place after hearing he liked another sandwich chain. I've only ever been to the Togo's on Capitol Expressway, and in comparison to that store, this Togo's was much larger and had plenty of seating. I ordered the hot pastrami (#9), and my boss got the pastrami Reuben (#10). The person who was making our sandwich was very nice about letting us know that the pastrami Reuben wasn't served Togo's style in the case that that was what we were expecting but my boss was fine with it. He was very friendly and helpful as were the rest of the workers. I thoroughly enjoyed my hot pastrami. As usual, the sandwich is plentiful with meat which makes me feel satisfied eating half of it for a meal and saving the other half for dinner. The veggies make the sandwich more balanced and refreshing. I thought that the mustard was a bit overpowering, but regardless, I absolutely loved it. My boss also said his sandwich was good. Togo's is a bit pricey in comparison to other chain sandwich stores, but you are paying for quantity AND quality. This is so much better than their competitor shop (y'all know which one I'm referring to). No competition in my book. read more

I normally come here for an early lunch to beat the crowds. Arrived today at 11:20 am and they were slammed! Several large take out orders, several phone orders and a line several people deep. I must say the manager and sandwich makers were on their game! They got everyone served and out the door quickly and the orders appeared to be correct. When someone had to wait longer than anticipated, the manager was very apologetic and did everything she could to make it right with the customer. Their sandwich makers are always fast, professional and courteous. They know what they are doing and I have always been pleased with my food. First and last time here today. I ordered a Turkey Club online for a 12:20 pick up time. I arrived and when the gentleman who was ringing me and a co-worker up read out my order, which was a Turkey Club combo WITH cheese. He looked at it funny then said "No cheese...yes cheese". I said yes, I added cheese. I paid $.75 to add cheese to this sandwich. When I got to work and opened the sandwich...no cheese. Not only did I not get the cheese I paid extra for, the produce on my sandwich looked weeks old. The lettuce was brown and soggy and the onions were soggy as well. To top that all off..literally..the sandwich had SOOO much pepper on it. I frequent Togos often and I have never received a sandwich this unsatisfying before. I love Togo's. We've been to this location hundreds of times as my DH works in the area. We always order our food for pick-up. I hate to say this but out of 4 orders they have messed up my sandwich/order 3 times in the last two weeks. The first three times they had forgotten avocado (which I added and payed for, a large to share), and it was on the wrong bread - all three times I got white bread and ordered Parmesan. The disappointment was real but of course we ate it. It was fresh and tasty. Today I ordered a wrap for the first time! It was straightforward - no add-ons or special wrap. I ordered a Mediterranean Chicken Wrap. I apparently got a Farmer's Market Wrap??? It had croutons, no chicken, etc......sigh....Funny thing is when my husband picked up the order, the counter lady asked if he came for a "salad" wrap...He was laughing at me when he got home lol! Love TOGO's but was disappointed with the service I had at this location recently. I asked for a #30 which, if you are not familiar with old school TOGOs items, is a turkey bacon club. The employee said in a rude condescending tone, "we don't have a number 30, all we have is a 31." For reference a 31 is a turkey bacon club, with cheese... It was bizarre, as if she found satisfaction in mocking me and turning to her fellow employees with a look of "who's this guy?". I told her after being mocked to just remove the cheese. To which she replied with a half smile and posturing of a hormonal teenager. Sandwich was made well but felt like I was a slow car in the fast lane when it came to this lady's attitude. Anyway if this location makes a big deal about what number I tell them and less about the sandwich I'm trying to purchase which they clearly know how to make, I'll take my business elsewhere. P.S. I've always been a huge turkey sandwich fan and Togo's turkey beats Subway's anyday. They just make a better sandwich with generally more meat than those 3 skimpy pieces on your Subway sub. I agree they tend to skimp on the produce, but that's when you just have to pay attention and ask for more. I think it's strange yet rad that there is a bar in this Togo's. I really like this Togo's, in comparison to the other Santa Clara location by Mission College and Great America Parkway. The difference between the two, is their customer service. Every time I come here, I call in and order in advance. I usually attend this location, during regular M-F lunch hours. The place gets packed quick, but the phone orders are always ready by the time I get there after order placed. I like this location because it is somewhat hidden and isn't surrounded by a lot of other restaurants. The parking lot in the back is quite spacious! The other locations that I used to go to were located near other restaurants which would cause the parking lot to always get packed and I would have to wait forever to find parking. But this place is tucked in a small corner which is perfect! The sandwiches are as good as always! Nothing special when it comes to food and the staff since it is just a franchise. read more

I work out down the street and this is my go to TOGOs when I'm super hungry after working out. Years ago this was one of the TOGOs that had a bar at the back of the store but that's long gone. I only go at lunch time and at peak times there can be a line. But like all TOGOs, especially this one, these guys are very good at making a quality sandwich quickly! I also think that the cashier has been working here everytime I've been here. He's super efficient, and will be ringing up your order before you know it to get you in and out quickly. Plenty of parking in the back, side and front. May be a bit of a challenge at peak but I've never not parked in their parking lot. Nice place, decent bar, when I showed up they had the television on a live classic auto auction, very classy indeed ;-) . Their sandwiches are good, but I would not recommend their salads. The bread is fair to middlin'. I do wish they had more produce, particularly peppers, but at least they don't skimp on avocado like some places. I haven't been to Togo's in over 3 years because I always felt their sandwiches were overpriced. I was hesitant to try this place out knowing my past history with them. But it's Friday lunch day and wanted something quick. A co-worker told me about their new promotion, $5 daily special combo meal. I wouldn't lose much if this place didn't live up. I head over there and noticed today's special was Lemon Pepper Tuna. Sounded good so I ordered the combo with Sourdough bread. Picked up my bag of Jalapenos chips and filled up my cup with Pepsi. Sat down and opened my sandwich to be pleasantly surprised of how large it was. Their "regular" comes in a 6" form and it was big. Not like Subway 6", but a true sandwich with warm bread and filled with condiments. The lemon pepper tuna was awesome and balanced well with the rest of the sandwich. For $5 combo, quick service, and a great sandwich, this place tentatively gets 5-stars. I will be coming back here to make sure their other daily specials are just as good. I like Togo's. I generally get the hot pastrami but in my most recent visit, I got the roast beef dip sandwich. The roast beef was good, although there was a piece of overcooked meat that was unchewable. It came on a white bun which didn't soak up the au jus too well. I had to soak it for a longer time so I could get more juice. The added cheese and horse radish was nice. I had A LOT of au jus leftover, and it tasted like a simple beef broth. The service seemed pretty good. My coworkers got their sandwiches really fast but mine took a lot longer. I don't think it should have taken that long. I prefer Togo's over Subway and Quiznos. However, my favorite sandwich place is still Ike's. read more

I come here several times a week because it is literally across the street from my workplace, which is very convenient. :) It does get busy around lunch time, however, the staff members are pretty fast and so the wait time isn't anything to complain about. I really appreciate that they have a system when it is busy--one person will take and make your order, while another rings you up. It definitely quickens things up! I normally get the Italian Chopped Salad which consists of salami, ham, grated parmesan cheese (?), lettuce, whole grained croutons, tomatoes, and their wonderful Italian dressing. This salad tastes amazing and I highly recommend everyone try it! Sadly, I can't really find it at any other nearby Togo's locations. :( Beware of lack of parking spaces! The small plaza lacks in parking spaces, so it is best if you park n the back lot. Also, there is always constant traffic going in either direction and so trying to leave the plaza itself may be a little dangerous. read more

I travel for work once a week and it often lands me near this TOGO in San Jose. I decided to try it after driving by for two years. I ordered the pick two minis - a cup of chicken noodle soup and a mini roast beef sandwich. The customer service was great, and they had my order ready in less than two minutes. That being said I could not believe the sandwich they served me. There was a single slice of roast beef on it drenched in mustard and dressing. The sandwich was all bread and sauce. I couldn't even tell if there was any meat on it until I opened it to find the one measly slice. The pictures in the menu have the sandwiches overstuffed with meat, but that is apparently the complete opposite of what you should expect in person. Very disappointing for a $10 meal. read more
