I've eaten at various chicken spots in the area with varying success in the last year or so with my work crew. One well-known place consistently smells like a dirty wet mop, another sold me a sandwich with a bit of raw chicken, and the nearby Dave's Hot Chicken had rude staff on a couple of occasions. So when my buddy recommended this place my standards were to not feel grossed out, get food poisoning, and not have staff be rude. This place blew my expectations away with their simple but clean establishment, delicious not greasy and fresh food, and very nice staff who literally welcome you as you step in. The staff asked us if it was our first visit and took the time pleasantly to explain what their levels of spicy equated to, which was helpful because my colleagues had a change of mind after sampling the "Hot" version. Messy, juicy, deliciousness. I came here a couple weeks ago and decided to come back since I enjoyed it and it's near a gym I go to. I got a slider (medium spice) and mac & cheese. My bf got the #1 (2 sliders & fries) The chicken in all the sliders were huge and juicy. The coleslaw in them was yummy but extremely messy. I loved drenching mine in honey for some sweet heat. Pricing is reasonable but on the higher end for a chicken place; the two of us were stuffed for ~$37. I think this place blows Dave's and Cane's out of the water in terms of flavor and quality. I decided to randomly drop by after hearing it from a co-worker. The store location is isolated in a mini block line of businesses? I ordered #3 which consists of a chicken burger and another tender on bread with fries. I was delighted to discover if you want to get the "spicy" spice level, they would let you taste it first. This location is easy to get to, has plenty of parking, and ample seating indoors. It's clean and open. The service is ok, not particularly friendly but they met the baseline. So, the food... Fries: Chickz squeezes by based on the solid amount of seasoning. Dave's were slightly crispier, but the seasoning difference tipped the scale. Finally giving this place a try! It seems there's an endless amount of chicken places these days and lately many of them are lacking in quality. I'd say this place is good, not great. Was torn between a three star or four star review but decided on four. Ordered two ordered of tenders on toast. One with country and mild seasoning, the other with mild and medium. Sides were Cole slaw and Mac n cheese. Chicken pieces were nicely sized and juicy. I liked the breading on the chicken. As for flavoring, the favorites were country and medium. Mild seasoning tasted like seasoned salt with paprika, which didn't really add much other than salty seasoned salt taste. Medium was flavorful with a small amount of heat. Coleslaw was good. Safe bet if you're a fan of the stuff. Mac n cheese was creamy but bland. Not bad but not good. I suppose it's nice if you're having very spicy seasoning but I just felt like there was no depth of flavor and would skip this next time. The bread that came with the chicken was ok. Again I think this is more to complement spicy seasonings to cool the palate. I could probably do without it but it was nice to nibble on. You receive a good amount of food for the price. Dishes are robust enough to be easily shared by most people while one full dish will still satisfying those with a more robust appetite. I'd say the pricing is fair when compared to similar fast food places. Parking outside the store is abundant and is shared with other stores in the center. Interior is cute and very casual with wood tables. Service was polite and prompt. Will I return? Maybe. There are so many other chicken places to try and nothing here really stood out but I also wasn't turned off. I opted for their slider and tender combo. I can't handle spice too well and got the country (no spice) and mild. The slaw was good and their sauce is really good. The chicken slider and tender sizing was a good size too. The sauce is like Chik Fil A's but with more spice. The mild tender had a kick to it, it was bearable but I wouldn't get it again. But, I selected medium heat, which basically meant they just put dry chili powder or paprika or some kind of rub on the outside of the chicken which made it totally unenjoyable. I went here on a Sunday around 4pm and there wasn't much of a wait. There's a few tables here for the ones who choose to dine here too. I ordered the Combo 3 with a side of Mac. I loved how the fries were seasoned since I usually prefer having seasoned fries over regular fries. When Angry Chickz first opened, I really loved this place especially because we used to be able to self-serve the sauce. That sauce is honestly what makes the food so good and what a lot of people come here for. Now they only give one sauce with a plate, none with a bowl, and sometimes forget it completely. One sauce is definitely not enough for two chicken sandwiches and fries it barely covers just the fries. The prices are already high, and now they want to charge extra for more sauce? It's disappointing. At places like Dave's Hot Chicken, they actually ask how many sauces you'd like and don't charge you extra.
