LOVE DONNY!!! I hate that he's always so booked but duhhhh he's the bomb so of course he will Be lol He's always so sweet to me and always gives me exactly what I asked for and even when he just freestyles it's always so ME and very pretty!

There is obviously someone who is very talented here as evidenced by the pictures. ..however not everyone is!! My nails look aweful. The spacing on rhinestones is uneven and there is acrylic left on all my fingers. You can still see the black underneath the chrome on the edges. OH, and the rhinestones aren't even like each finer should have had 1 more the left side of each nail. It's 5:44 on a Sunday so I will have to wait until tomorrow to have them done elsewhere...It was also about $30 more than I usually pay for the same service elsewhere.

I was not happy with the way my nails turned out.... I literally wanted to cry while sitting in the chair. They were wayyy too thick and I asked for coffin but she did square. When I asked her to fix the shape it got even worse because her coffin was not very good. The nail polish was unevenly coated. I was sooo unhappy at the end that I even went back to try and get them fixed. If you want a good coffin I would go elsewhere. I got a gel color change on my toes as well (basic) and it was fine. Doubt I will come back :(

I've been going to Donny for quite some time and I love his work! His shapes are always on point and he is able to do a lot of different designs.

I go to Donny for my nails consistently and I am always impressed. He is fast, efficient and I get sooo many compliments. A true professional experience.

Well i am a nail diva. I will spend 100$ on my nails and feet if I must, so price isn't the problem. I am more than a mani/pedi chick. You have to dig into those untapped skills of acrylic to make me smile. Well I found the shop & the nail Tech (Donny) on Instagram. I texted the number and made my appointment for 2pm....I arrived around 1:50, being as though I decided to grab a pedicure. Well Im glad I did, there were two others in front of me. Usually I would have been pissed but I breathed, soaked my feet and waited. The lady who did my pedicure should honestly take a painting class. It wasn't smooth and there is nail polish in my cuticles. I opted to pay the 5$ more to get an callus remover and I could've done without. My feet rougher than they were before. Now on to the nails. They are pretty but I don't enjoy waiting 4 hours to get them done. I also don't enjoy when my nail tech is preoccupied with other things in the shop. It wasn't the best customer service not the worse but damn sure not the best. Once home I realized my nails still have that sticky feel but I've been doing this for years so I have some home stuff to fix it, BUT point being I shouldn't have to after paying damn near 70$. Will I go back? Maybe, probably not but maybe. Do I recommend? Sure. If you can handle it why not. I on the other am still on this long search for my forever nail home....

I have been a customer of DaVi Nails since they opened years ago. They are conveniently located inside the Walmart at Capital Plaza. I get my nails, my eyelashes, my eyebrows, and pedicures done on a regular basis. The shop is very clean and sanitary. The staff is very warm and friendly and makes you feel at home the moment you walk in tbe door. All the staff members are highly skilled, but my favorite is Donghi. He is extremely talented and creative. My nails are very long and he always does exotic, one of a kind ,free hand desgns on my nail which are admired by all who come in contact with me. My nails, whether I use gel or acrylic actually last about 6-7 weeks before they need to be redone. My eyelash extensions last 3-4 weeks..Absolutely Amazing! Very good deals for the services received! I highly recommend a visit to DaVi Nails and tell Donghi I sent you!

Un even coffin filed nails. Smh #wasteofmoney

First and Last time here, I advise you to go to a legit nail place that isn't inside a wal mart! I had her do a design and she fucked up so I asked her to just go solid. I went In for a fill, and she only replaced two nails of the coffin design. They do not match, the only thing I like is the nail color that I chose... Tbh I wasn't the only one who didn't like the work this place offers. Another customer before me did a mani pedi wasn't satisfied either. (They're first time as well) So take a look at my nails, and look at how off they look. Don't waste you're money here on rushed service.

    A MESS

My last post was removed so this time I will just allow the pictures to speak for itself. Beware, he has a bad attitude, disregard for his customers, over books and like to rush. Save yourself the trouble.

Trash services and i was told i would have to pay extra for her to fix the messy polish, but i would rather go elsewhere to assure better service

Best nail tech I've encountered in the DMV. He's quick yet progressional. If you've been disappointed by other nail techs, please go to him!!

I could've done both our nails for FREE and would've done a better job!

My 14 year old daughter and I decided to take a chance and visit DaVi after reading the Yelp reviews and seeing Donny's work. He's very talented! We knew we wouldn't be able to see him because we were walk-ins on a Tuesday afternoon. But we were just getting gel manicures and figured it'd be fast. There were actually 3 women working. The salon is very small and a bit messy. If you're looking for a relaxing experience, this is not the place! Anyhoo, while we waited, one of the techs provided a bowl of acetone for me to pre-soak my gel manicure off, that sped up the process. These ladies are FAST! But for me, they are too fast! As soon as the gel polish was removed from my left hand, the tech started to clip my nails. She never asked me if I wanted my nails clipped or filed. By the time I looked at my hand, she was already on my index finger! And she cut my nails too short and cut all of my formerly-square edges inward, some of them are crooked! Maybe she was trying to make a short coffin shape? I dunno, there was no attention to detail whatsoever! No pushing back my cuticles or removal of dead skin. The manicure was really fast-I think all of it was done in about 25 min. My daughter said her tech was way too fast too and rushed through the process. Overall, neither of us were pleased with our nails, the quality and attention to detail was poor. We won't be coming back again.

I stumbled across Donny's Instagram page a few months ago and decided to give him a try. I am SO glad I did! Previous nail techs have tried and failed at delivering even the simplest nail designs, which left me searching for someone else. Donny not only can replicate a design, but he does so flawlessly. If you haven't been in his chair, you're missing out!

The male nail tech seems disgruntled and is low vibrational. The last 3 times he did my nails they either chipped, smudged or 1 nail completed fell off. It's a shame because he has potential to be an excellent nail tech if he can put his ego to the side and learn how to serve his clients. After giving me a new nail set at my last fill in appointment he told me my next appointment will be a new set: I told him no way. They seem to view their clients as walking ATMs--it's an uncomfortable feeling: They constantly badger you to do new sets, gel mani-pedis or expensive "spa" pedicures even after you've told them specifically the kind of services you want/prefer--it's more "them" focused than client focused. Btw,I was never thanked for my $20-$25 tips --ever. This last appointment took the cake--nail tech dude nicked my skin with his super sharp nail tool and blamed MY skin for "growing too close to the nail". This happened after leaving me under the fan for 15 minutes while he enjoyed a phone conversation right in front of me--so I knew it was because he wasn't paying attention--he seems resentful of his customers and unhappy to do this kind of work. When I arrived for my appointment (no such thing really because they treat everyone as a walk-in) he and a young girl didn't move to seat me, I had to ask them if they were working today in order to mobilize them--mind you I was the only customer. That said, I won't be back. I'm big on customer service and positive energy and I pay well for it, but it's not to be found there.

She also worked with another manager at the store and was able to set up my next appointment with a specific tech - I believe it was Emily. Tiffany was very communicative via both text and DM on there Instagram account, which I used to schedule my next appointment. She was also there when I arrived for that appointment to ensure things went smoothly. Emily was very attentive during my service, and ultimately I was happy with this set. I did SNS and Emily finished with a gel top coat. Since I prefer to not have gel that is cured by UV, I may not return regularly. However, this salon has a huge selection of not only regular colors, but specialty colors as well, such as cat eye and jelly polishes. Jelly polishes are definitely on my list to try in the future, so I'll likely be back for that. I very much appreciate the team's outreach and support after my last review, and it's clear that they care greatly for the service they can provide their customers.

They show me around, very sweet front desk woman---and I get changed. I go to the relaxation room to get picked up for my service and I am just waiting. 10:10 am rolls around, 10:15. Eventually the woman comes back and she says "I'm sorry but the masseuse is not coming in today and there is only one person scheduled per day because summer is slow" ?????? I was just sitting there kind of dumbfounded because we didn't know she wasn't showing up before 15 minutes into my service? Mind you, I took off work to come to this so I'm not getting paid and know it's getting cancelled. So she's looking to reschedule me, and I'm like "ok well can I talk to a manager about a discount because this is kind of crazy" and she's like "yea idk maybe they can call you tomorrow". Eventually she comes back and she's like "oh one of the other ladies will come in but not till 11" so I'm like ok...and I asked for snack (bc I was planning on eating after but now it's pushed back an hour). She brings a bar and champagne which was nice, and I sit for 45 minutes waiting for the next lady. I get called back and she's asking how much pressure, I say light pressure and she's like "ok bc deep pressure we will charge you extra!" After I waited 45 minutes for an inconvenience...ok! So, I get on the table, the room is FREEZING like had to ask her to turn it up, she does --it's manageable now but still cold and she gets to work but her hands are absolute ice which took away from the service. Then, she absolutely digs into each and every muscle after i said light pressure--so I ask to lighten it up nicely and she's very nice and tries but it didn't go well. I, then, get into the shower to rinse off and I put the water all the way to hot bc I'm cold from the room---it's all the way on hot and the water is cool at best. I'm in there like shivering. I don't know what's going on today but I would implore people to find somewhere else. The employees are very sweet and kind but everything else just made it a subpar experience and for $250+ a service, things like this just should not occur in my opinion.

Good pics on Yelp, poor communication and treatment/ hospitality…read more. I called to schedule an appointment to ensure they had time for me and they answered yes. I walked in, was rushed to pick a color instead of greeted. Said I could grab some water, which was nice. The mumbling in Viet started as soon as I sat down, could really make you feel out of place. (Just because someone doesn't know the language doesn't mean they don't hear the tone and can pick up on context.) Cut me twice, apologized, and a couple other hiccups that I won't bother to mention. She lightened up throughout time, but I may have to give it a second thought before going again.. I still tipped well because the actual nails came out good. (My total ~$96.00)Not to my like, as she was not easy to tell what I wanted done. Lady came in right to the end of my service with an appointment, and needed to get acetone removed from her hands that lady doing my nails had wrapped in foil and said, "excuse me- can you--" (I'm sure her hands were either hurting or were uncomfortable), and lady doing my nails interrupted her loudly in front of the whole salon, to say she's almost done with me. I felt terrible for her since she had an appointment on top of that. The fact that there's a lot of competitors for you (Nova nails) should push you to improve in timing and care with how you talk to clients and be careful about what you say you can and can not do for a service. I'm still looking for a place that is both well at communicating with clients, and has the skill set for an awesome set. Please remember to treat people kindly. How you make someone feel is really important.

It shouldn't be this hard to get, and keep my nails done…read more Most of the nail technicians in here are (artistically) talented, however it's SO HARD to make an appointment. I have shared my concerns with the owner and asked her to implement an online scheduling system. She expressed reservations due to the fact that customers may not know what they want, booking one service online and then coming in expecting another. It's a shame to have such a valuable and sought-after product, but simultaneously making it so difficult for customers to get their hands on that product. Booking an appointment has become somewhat of a guessing game. I give them a date and a time of my desired appointment. They tell me that my preferred nail tech is not available, but NEVER say UNTIL WHEN. So I throw out another date. Same thing: Not available. On and on it goes. Instead of providing me with options (namely, telling me the next available date for my preferred nail tech, or other nail techs who have availability at that same day and time), they repeat what they don't have available, or ask me to blindly pick another nail tech that I've never worked with (I don't even know their names because I've never worked with them, so how can I be expected to pick them?). So I'm expected to be both psychic and memorize the roster of the staff here... Just to get an appointment?! In order to book appointments I had to call multiple times over multiple days until someone was able to give me enough information to book an appointment, reach out to the owner on Instagram, and even drive all the way to the nail salon.... JUST TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. I tried to make an appointment prior to the holidays before everything got booked up. Myself and another customer stood in line for at least 20 minutes in a practically empty nail salon while the owner's mother did someone's nails before she finally addressed us. Even then, she only handed us a register paper and told us to write down what services we wanted and when we wanted to come in, telling us that someone would call us to confirm (which never happened, by the way). We could have saved a lot of time if she had just asked us to do that and leave the paper on the counter while she finished her customer. After waiting 3 days, I finally called the salon and was told that they did not have my appointment request. Not surprising, given that it was scribbled on a piece of receipt paper that was given to me. Somebody probably threw away thinking that it was trash without following up. I tried to book my next two appointments to avoid this headache and was told that in order to book an appointment with my preferred nail tech, I now have to follow her on social media and DM her to try to book an appointment with her there. REALLY?! Instead of scraps of paper, or having to stalk somebody on Instagram, why not keep an old school appointment book, or even one online? It's really not that hard. These nail techs are also not great with time management. Many of my appointments have had to be rescheduled... For the middle of my work day. (Thank goodness for remote work) One of the (now former) nail techs completely forgot about my appointment and passed me off to somebody else without even acknowledging me or her oversight. Another nail tech pressured me into making an appointment earlier than I wanted, only for her to show up 45 minutes after the appointed time. No phone call, no update, no communication whatsoever. Just me sitting there wondering if this was another canceled appointment that they forgot to communicate to me. I say "another" because I had an appointment with the same technician that she canceled, but the salon did not leave me a message to let me know. The only way I found out is because I wanted to add something onto my existing appointment and when I called the salon, I was told that I no longer had an appointment because that person decided not to work that day. In addition to horrendous time management and the hoops you have to jump through to get an appointment, the nail retention is also poor... And ultimately that's why I chose to get my services done elsewhere. Like I said, artistically some of these nail techs do a good job, but in terms of actual quality of work... Not so much. I tried to make it work, because finding a new nail salon can be a pain. However, I started experiencing substantial lifting of my nails after practically every appointment. At one point, I even developed nail fungus under my acrylic, which one of the nail techs ignored completely and just covered with acrylic, and another who tried to tell me "That's not nail fungus, it's bacteria". Whatever it is, it's not supposed to be under my nails... And it wouldn't be if the work was done correctly. Aesthetically, this is one of the nicer looking nail salons in the area, but looks are deceiving. This salon presents a lot of challenges from a booking, customer service, and quality of work perspective.
