I paid $125 for a nail set on 4/16, and less than 10 days later, a full nail popped completely off. For that price, I expect durability--not a set that barely lasts a week. Apparently, their standard is that a $125 set is only guaranteed for 5 days, which is ridiculous--and nowhere in the shop is that policy clearly posted. To make matters worse, when I went back, there was no accountability. No credit, no real solution--just a quick fix where the tech didn't even properly redo the nail and instead used Gel-X to stick it back on. It was obvious they didn't know how to recreate the original set. For the price, the quality, service, and professionalism did not match at all. Extremely disappointing experience. Before I even realized what was going the tech, a man, had used the drill on my natural nails, basically ruining them. There is still a huge mark where he did that. At first I was happy with my no polish manicure, and then a few days later I noticed grooves on all of my nails. I didn't realize it then, but the e-file that was used ruined my nails. At the time I thought it was cool there was a device that could expedite the process, but it looks like it was improperly used. I'm so upset because I rarely get manicures, and the whole point of getting it done this way was to keep my nails healthy and now I have to wait months and hopefully it will heal. First and last time. They used nail files that were caked in other customers' nail dust. They had to redo the pedicure because they were using old nail polish that was too thick and wouldn't spread evenly. They had to use three coats on my hands and they still look streaky and uneven. They didn't soak my cuticles before trying to push back or use any cuticle oil or softener. The water bowl was cold. The nail table was covered in dust and stains. They didn't use a towel so I had to put my hands on the table, which felt gross. read more

I had just moved back to D.C. after 12 years away, so of course my former nail salon near the Silver Spring Metro was long gone! I kept popping into salons I saw, asking if they did GelX nails and I couldn't find one. Finally came across QT nails very close to where I live and my search was over! I've remained with my original technician, "Kathy" who is so personable and fun, and she does a great job on manicures and pedicures. She listens to what you want and always strives to make you happy. For one appointment, I needed "fancy" nails in a deep, emerald green and gold to be in a wedding and Kathy was relentless until she nailed the color! If you have lots of time, try the ultra deluxe pedicure - it's amazing and I felt like Kathy's leg massage improved my whole body's circulation, LOL! A small but important thing: if the technicians are chatting away in Vietnamese, Kathy gives you a quick overview of what they're discussing. So courteous! I've never had that happen in the decades I've been going to nail salons - It's not that I care what anyone is saying, but that gesture of inclusiveness means a lot and shows just what a great customer-service and comfort oriented person Kathy is. Early on, I mentioned to Kathy that I needed a barber; she took me next door and introduced me to the Ethiopian barbershop where I'm still going months later! Kathy is like a 1-person new location welcoming committee! I also love that you can pay--and tip--via Zelle which is so convenient. read more

QT nails is brand new but the nail techs in here are so skilled !!! I walked in with no appointment and they were so nice and accepted me. I waited for a bit which was alright since I was a walk in and there were clients with appointments. I came in with a photo of the design I wanted and Q was able to recreate it for me with an airbrush tool. So cool to watch!!! She also had tons of Swarovski diamonds to add on to choose from which completed my looks. It turned out amazing and I am from Boston, but will definitely come back here just to get my nails done. Q guaranteed my nails won't chip and my Swarovski diamond wont fall off and she was right !! It's been two weeks and everything looks brand new and stone is intact ! I'm a nurse and the diamond would get stuck in my glove and the glove would rip def worth all the money and the wait! They take their time here, don't rush you out and are so nice and friendly. I don't recommend this nail salon for black men. I visited this salon on 9/19 to get my nails done. I was made to feel uncomfortable because no one wanted to serve me. After waiting 20mins the manager sent a very senior, senior citizen to serve me. The whole time they joked among themselves regarding me being there. When I asked for the price for both my hands and feet I was told 2 prices.When I asked why 2 prices I was one for men and another for women. I've never heard of this in all my life. As I asked, 2 other workers gave me dirty looks and rolled they're eyes but I also notice they treated the women much differently! I went to the salon to relax but only felt uncomfortable. The smell and the lack of professionalism should have been my first warning. I will not return! read more

I was looking for a new nail place around the area! I came across QT Nails as I live less than 5 min away. It seems like Sundays are appointments only, but I could call ahead of time and ask if they were available, and gladly took me in. The place could be a little cleaner and more modern, but other than that, I loved the way they did my nails, especially Trang. She was amazing! The other time I went to get my nails done from here, another woman did my nails. There were a few streaks, but not to the point where I was really bothered by it! I personally feel that there could be some minor renovations and improvements, but otherwise I think I found my new nail place and will be returning whenever I need to get my nails done! read more
