I was very impressed with Dr. Lee Schulman's education/experience, but just as important, I was intrigued by the fact that as a vascular surgeon, he limited his practice to the treatment of varicose veins (i.e., not any other vascular surgery). Because he specialized in this, I felt that he would be the most knowledgeable about the best and most advanced vein treatment (which was confirmed by visiting his website). In addition, I was very impressed by all of the positive patient reviews...so I made my appointment and my first visit with him immediately proved that I had made the right choice! Not only was he exceedingly kind and friendly, but before I even had to ask a question, he took the time to explain all of the differently treatment options and discussed in detail his recommendation for what was best for my condition (i.e., sclerotherapy injection treatment) and kindly answered all my subsequent questions. I was so happy/surprised that he was going to do the treatment during that first consultation visit instead of requiring me to come back for a 2nd appointment the way some doctors do. Although I was a bit apprehensive about having the injections since I have a rather low pain threshold, I was pleasantly surprised at how painless it turned out to be! I started to notice some bulging veins in the tops of my feet. At first it was after running or hiking only, but then they started to become more permanent. This was followed by several rounds of sclerotherapy treatments, and all went as smooth as . . . my newly smoothed legs! Fast forward to 2020. I began developing new varicose veins that were weighing me down. As a teacher I'm on my feet for hours a day, and these bulging, painful veins were unwelcome guests. I came across the Schulman Vein center after an Internet search. I've had 10 plus treatments of sclera therapy in the past with no change in my veins. Why I kept going is beyond me, I guess I thought the next treatment was going to fix my unsightly veins. After only one treatment from Dr Schulman and bingo I could see a change in size and appearance of my legs veins! I don't know if it was the way the procedure is performed while standing, the formulas of medication used or the precise manner in which it is administered that made the difference. I was so happy to have found Dr. Schulman! My spider veins were always terrible. People used to tell me I had bruises on the back of my legs they were so bad. It was embarrassing. I tried traditional sclerotherapy about 9 years ago where i had to wear compression stockings for 2 weeks after the injections, but it was much more painful and had a lot more restrictions before and after the treatments. Dr. Schulman has a completely different approach. He injects the area and then his nurses immediately wrap the site with a bandage and tape. You can barely feel the injections. You can take the dressings off that evening. The only thing you can't do is get them wet. You can even exercise the next morning! There is no down time at all. Some visits I was getting 20 injections at a time with no pain and in less then a half hour! He and his staff are very knowledgeable and professional. I felt comfortable knowing he has 3 different offices for vein treatment in NYC, Nassau & Suffolk county. He has the experience. I can see big changes in the before and after photos of my legs. I came across Schulman Vein Center in Commack during my internet search for a new place to treat my superficial spider veins. I read the positive reviews and called to ask questions about the treatment and aftercare. To my surprise, Dr. Schulman used some different methods I have never tried. Such as, you stand up while injections are given, you can exercise the next day, and you do not have to wear compression stockings if you do not want to. Not being happy with prior treatments from another doctor, I decided to give Dr. Schulman a try. Super friendly office staff and doctor, who explained everything and I was very happy I was able to treat both legs at the same time and since you stand up for injections, there is zero pain. Two weeks after my first treatment, my leg pains are gone! I have since gone for a second treatment and will be setting up one more before summer comes. Since insurance companies refuse to pay for spider vein treatments, it is also great that Dr. Schulman gives extra injections at no expense to you. I am still a work in progress, as they are still healing, but I do see a nice change. I plan on coming back to Dr. Schulman for touch ups as I need them. read more

I had always been hesitant to seek varicose vein treatment because of all of the stories from acquaintances or 'friends of friends' of pain and how horrible it was. I had lost weight and it made my veins show even more... I was getting vain about my veins :) I had several doctors tell me I really should have them looked into.... so I did some research, and wanted to go somewhere that specialized in veins and had great reviews. So I went to the Schulman Vein and Laser Center in Commack and met Dr. Martin Schulman. He assured me he could help me. I started treatments in November, had one vein lasered and have been having shots on the others. Treatment and healing is not complete, but I have seen significant improvement already. My worst looking one was one wiggly looking vein that stuck out so much on my right thigh it used to show through my pants. That one is 75% better already. It takes several months for full healing, but I have full confidence with Dr. Schulman's help I will be ready for short season. Almost forget- Painless! I am so excited about finding Dr. Schulman, my Suffolk County Leg Vein Doc! I had my severe varicose veins removed 2x prior to meeting Dr. Schulman (by another vascular surgeon) and each time they came back before I even had time to enjoy my "vein free" legs. Enter my new hero, Dr. Schulman. Using virtually pain free injections (instead of the invasive surgery I had before), he has "removed" my painful veins and given me the relief and vein free legs I desired. He is professional, has a great bedside manner and is so knowledgeable. He explained the procedure and the process and answered all of my questions and is so "patient" with his "patients". I started going to Dr. Schulman for varicose vein treatments this past October. I have been putting off going because I did not believe they were severe enough to be covered by my insurance. As luck would have it, I was approved for 6 visits in a calendar year and I started treatment immediately. After my first session, I felt instant relief from one of the veins that was giving me the most pain. I am looking forward to the completion of my sessions. The treatments, (which are small injections directly into the vein site) are quick and virtually painless. I work in healthcare training Physician Assistants and I would gladly send any of them to train under Dr. Schulman. I have been to several vein specialists in the past that have left me very disappointed and feeling like I really wasted my money. I can truly say that Dr. Schulman of Vein And Laser Center has not let me down in any way and I am so pleased with the results. I've never posted a review before but will for the Schulman Vein and Laser Center because it really has exceeded my expectations. I'm originally from the city and consider myself quite savvy along with high expectations when it comes to providers and services, particularly medical and cosmetic. I did a lot of research to determine the best doctor to see for the hideous varicose veins that prevented me from wearing shorts for the past couple of years. Couple of visits to Dr. Schulman and they've drastically improved. He is fast, to the point and has a great sense of humor. He was very conversational while injecting and I realized he may have been trying to distract me from the shots- I actually called him out on it and laughed because I could barely feel them. Everyone supporting this office seems to know what they're doing and actually has personalities too- funny, unpretentious and very accommodating. I've had noticeable spider veins on my legs since I was in college. Over the last few years I've noticed the spider veins spreading, getting larger and, more predominate. I have had dark blue veins under my eyes since I was in middle school and it only got worse from there. I first went to Dr. Schulman at their laser vein center in Commack NY, two years ago to treat a couple spider veins that drove me insane. This was after careful research about who was the best of the best. I had seen so many friends get treatments with limited results and I did not want to just flush my money down the toilet. He truly is the best in the NYC/LI area. Those all disappeared within weeks without a trace, and limited marks in the meantime. Very patient, calm and meticulous. I started seeing Dr. Schulman at the Schulman Vein and Laser Center in Commack over 20 years ago for spider veins in my ankles! He was highly recommended to me by a close friend. Back then being a young woman and very vain or should I say veiny! Dr. Schulman worked his magic! I was extremely pleased with his professionalism and personality and the results were out of this world! My legs looked great again! Now I'm in my mid 60's and recently had back surgery. Shortly afterwards I started to experience pain and swelling in my right leg. I was very lucky to have been treated by The Shulman Vein Center in Commack!!! From the office staff to Dr. Shulman, I was treated nothing short of wonderful!! Everything was explained to me in detail, from what I may feel to how long before I am fully healed!! I had some unsightly veins that I had been meaning to get rid of for years. This is the only medical review I've ever written, but it's one that truly deserves taking the time to do it. I'm in my mid 60's and have mostly worn ankle length dresses for the past 20 years due to unsightly varicose veins. I am happy to report that after just a few visits with Dr. Schulman I a now happily wearing knee length dresses. The change in my legs is REMARKABLE and the procedure was not painful. The doctor and his office staff have a warm and professional attitude and all 3 of my appointments were kept exactly on time. This is one of those LIFE CHANGING situations where I wished I had pursued this treatment sooner as the improvement in my legs has led to an increase in self confidence.
