However, I have experienced the opposite care from a hygienist at the same office the past few times. I naturally build tartar very quickly on my bottom teeth, and I've been trying my best to keep up with it. When I opened my mouth for the hygienist to start cleaning, she sighed and said, "It doesn't even look like you brushed your teeth today." I am already insecure about my tartar buildup, and she was this level of rude throughout the cleaning. I also asked her simple questions about how to care for my teeth cleaning supplies, and she responded as if I asked the dumbest questions. People already don't enjoy going to the dentist, and she made the experience even worse than I could imagine. I will not be seeing her again.

She'll patronize you and and be dismissive and do what she wants anyways despite your concerns. But it's worse than bed side manor. I stopped going after she left my teeth in worse condition than when I started. I went to two other dentists since then and both told me it would cost over $20K in braces and other dental work to fix it. I have been so bummed about dentist and afraid to go to any more.
