What community do we want to live in? And, importantly, how do we find the right agent? Luckily, we met DAVID KAPLAN and his partner, ELLEN PARIS during one of our many open house journeys. David was sharp, open and honest. We immediately liked him. When he introduced us to the knowledgeable and efficient Ellen, we knew we had the right team. They showed us homes we wanted to see, homes meeting our criteria but ultimately weren't right, and helped refine our search. They were patient and professional throughout, recognizing that this was our journey. When we found our home, they ably took on the negotiations, overcame hurdles, and helped us successfully closed the deal. Ellen and David did what good realtors do. They empowered us to make the decision we wanted for a place we wanted to call home.

We were relocating from another state, and before we ever reached California, Niko was generous with important information for us to consider. As one would imagine, we had many questions about how to proceed and where to look. When we met up at our hotel in Rancho Mirage, Niko listened to our proposals and discussed our views for over an hour. Then we struck out for the most likely areas where we could see homes in our price range. Throughout the day, we visited homes and got to know the area thanks to Niko's expertise. When a realtor is as personable, knowledgeable and as natural an educator as Niko, it is a unique experience. She has never missed a beat when addressing our questions. Her responses to sudden questions have been prompt and extremely helpful. The escrow and closing process occurred remotely and they were smoothly managed by the CV Escrow company. We wholeheartedly recommend Niko Esposito because with her capable and professional guidance, we were able to close on our new house early in September and we are now very happily settling in this week.

The personal attacks and rotten comments are really amazing. Cindy has done a great job in managing our complex. She has run HOA meetings with a good agenda and very professionally. Even when she is the barer of bad news (advising that I had to remove a beloved grapefruit tree) she finds a way to deliver the message in an understandable way. She is equally fair to all that work with her. It appears to me that some reviewers expect more than can be humanly delivered. I am happy to recommend Maryellen Hill & Associates and in particular, Cindy Anderson.

Cindy the psycho!…read more She's so corrupt, evil, lawbreaking, and vile, that I and many people I know in town have had truly harrowing experiences with this total troll, lying, lawbreaking dinosaur. I beat her at her own games (her own assistant Chelcie Goins warned me and gave me tips on how to deal with her lies and lawbreaking: because even she knows and hates Cindy's ways!), and spent years teaching others who unfortunately rented from her after I did how to quote state statutes she violated left and right to steal money from tenants and owners, commit crimes, and more. At one point, this fat ugly whale got right up in my face, spitting in it, demanding I never set foot in her office (the only place I could pay my rent?) again, and from now on, I'd have to speak only through her assistant Chelcie Goins. Once I did a minute of research, quoted all the housing laws she violated (tons-- I lived in the tenement for 4 days before the gas company came and declared it an IMMEDIATE explosion hazard and I had to vacate the premises as Cindy's rental was by California law, "legally uninhabitable": with no gas, hot water, windows that wouldn't open, trapping the leaking gas inside. The plumber Cindy hired to come "make sure I wasn't lying" about smelling gas 24/7 tested the gas lines and was like, "We BOTH need to get out of here. NOW!" The whole block could've gone up. He told me the gas leak was so bad, I'm lucky I didn't die in my sleep in the 4 days I lived in that hellhole death trap shitbox! Like out of a movie, when I moved in, there was a giant pile of shit in the broken toilet in the dirty bathroom with dead bugs, their poop too, all over the whole condo. Cindy: "Well my contractor was in there and he must've forgotten to flush." WTF?! I had to fill out 9+ pages on lined paper, documenting all the move-in stuff (broken lights, windows, cricket shit, dead mice, bugs, on top of the fridge, rotten food bits in unwashed fridge, etc., etc.) just to cover my ass on move-out, which the STATE declared was LEGALLY REQUIRED because it was a gas leak death trap. If I had used the gas stove even once (I had bought tons of soup but didn't cook much as I'd just moved in and was unpacking and ordering out), the whole block could've "gone up," SoCalGas tech told me when he red-tagged the gas meter and made it illegal for anyone to live there until the gas leak was fixed. I had to live in a motel on my own dime for weeks, after putting down like $3000 in move-in, first, last, etc. And Cindy abused and blamed ME the whole time. Evil twat who looks like she ate half her clients. Need I say more? Nope! RUN!

At first my electric bill was huge and I couldn't figure out why. I called SCE and they informed me that I was using to much electricity for a single person living in a 1200 sq foot cottage. They asked what I was running 24/7. It was the pool and light timer. The pool light went on every night 6-11 unabiling me to do anything manually. Compiling electric bills and back and forth emails no help, ZERO to the point where she will not reply to issues with the home. The pool man allowed me to look at the timer, yes the filter was running 24/7 for 5 months. It has been concluded that the pool and my cottage use the same meter. This fact is not in my lease, never discussed or disclosed. An extra $200 a month is something I would of had to consider to make the move. Now I have taken control of the pool timer. Running it the hours that SCE has recommended. I'm nervous and anxious that I may be asked to leave because I continued to press on this situation. There's unexpected tension that makes me uncomfortable. Something that has nothing to do with me. I needed help to figure it out, I could not, not pay my utilities (bad credit, no air conditioning) the anguish have become too much. Arguing with the poolman (who has a key, not comfortable with) now. If im responsible for the bill we have to do it this way to save me money I've told him. The pool is not my problem! IT HAS NOW BECOME MY PROBLEM!! In the signed copy of my lease there is no mention of the pool. I have been fraudulently misrepresented and now being harassed. Avoid this company at all costs…read more They "managed" two of my Palm Springs condos. In one instance, they allowed my condo to be sublet by someone whom I did not know and who did not have a lease agreement with me. The debacle ended in a nasty eviction and the loss of thousands of dollars. There was never any apologies for this disaster and they refused to take responsibility for it. I was baffled by their lack of accountability. Surely someone could have noticed that they had been receiving payments from "Tom" and suddenly "Harry," who is not on the lease, is making payments. But their "over promise and under deliver" motto disallowed them from noticing such things. In another instance, my condo became vacant and needed to be listed. It sat unoccupied with no interest in it for a month. When they sent an email to me stating that I needed to lower the price by $500 (a 25% reduction) for lack of interest, I became curious because Palm Springs is a fairly strong market right now and "no interest" in my condo sounded very suspicious. After a few clicks on my Mac I discovered that no one at Utopia bothered to take any interior pictures of my condo to accompany the listing. When I brought this to their attention, instead of being embarrassed by the sloppiness, Nicole, the manager, argued, talked over me, made excuses, challenged EVERYTHING I said. For example, when I said, "My condo has no pictures attached to the listing," she would bark, "It does, too, have pictures attached to the listing. Don't lie." So yes, it did have pictures....OF THE EXTERIOR. But no one is going to inquire about a property if they can't see pictures of where they will be living. But she dug in her heels and could not concede that a lack of inside photos was critical to a successful listing. Also, It was simply lost on her that, because my property sat vacant for that moth, I lost thousands of dollars. She wanted to argue that "technically" there were photos attached to the condo even though none of them were of the interior rather than say, "That is not how we like to do business, let me take care of it and we will all put in extra effort to get it rented." It was the polar opposite of a professional way to handle their blunder. If you are a property owner, be advised that Utopia does not understand they are handling an investment of yours. They do not appreciate that you have time, sweat, and money invested in your property. Go elsewhere. You will regret listing your property with Utopia.
