Going to Rise was the best decision of my life. Allison was a godsend to me at a dark point in my…read morelife and was able to get me into Rise's treatment program with short notice. The team there is unparalleled. I wish I could name everyone that were members of my treatment team at Rise, but a few shoutouts to Nam for driving my sad sack self to Rise, baking amazing bread, and being an amazing support from Day 1, Shari & Zach from nursing for the care, fun, pep talks, and compassion, Dr Mark for his wisdom and pragmatic approach that I really resonated with, and numerous others (the chefs are next-level good, Tessa, Luke, Saber, Destiny, Cesar, Cat, Michael, Terry, Adrian, etc). Outside of the fantastic staff, I'll add that the house is gorgeous, the groups are varied and enriching, there's a good balance between free time & groups, the rooms are comfortable and spacious, and they do a great job of ensuring that you have access to outside appointments - for example, I was able to go to Passover services while at Rise without having to go through a lot of hoops/bureaucracy. The amenities are fun and obviously appreciated, but the heart of this place is really why I would recommend it to a loved one or friend in a heartbeat. Thank you so much, Rise team!!!

A Life Forever Changed ~ Thank You…read more There are moments in life when words fall short, but I'll try. The Rise at Malibu didn't just support me they saved me. In one of the darkest chapters of my life, they extended a hand that pulled me back into the light. Their compassion, expertise, and unwavering commitment were more than professional they were profoundly human. I owe my life to the care, patience, and strength they showed me. Every step of the way, they treated me not as a case, but as a person worth fighting for. That kind of impact doesn't fade it stays with you, reshaping how you see yourself and the world. I want to begin by saying that The Rise in Malibu is far more than just a treatment facility it's a sanctuary for healing, transformation, and rediscovery. After extensive research, I felt confident in my decision before I even arrived. Now, as I prepare to leave, I can say with absolute certainty: I made the right choice. I'm walking away with the reset I desperately needed, armed with tools, a solid plan, and a renewed sense of purpose. What drew me to The Rise in Malibu was their deep commitment to mental health and trauma recovery the very roots of my struggle. From the moment I made that first call, I wasn't just another intake. Ron spoke to me with warmth and clarity, painting a picture of the care I'd receive and the space I'd call home. He gave me hope when I was falling apart. Then Allison stepped in, answering every message, listening to my tears, and making sure I had everything I needed to get to Malibu. Angie welcomed me with open arms, her radiant smile and vibrant energy instantly making me feel safe and seen. She tailored my experience with such care that I always felt supported and comfortable. The program itself is exceptional comprehensive and deeply personal. From licensed psychotherapists and medical doctors to psychiatrists, nurses, holistic therapies, case management, personal training, and even a private chef, every detail is designed to nurture healing in body, mind, and spirit. To anyone considering The Rise in Malibu this place doesn't just treat addiction it treats the person behind it. They saved my life. I recommend them with every ounce of gratitude in my heart. ~ Luka

The intake was handled by a very well meaning information, but despite comments that they could accommodate people with a wide range of concerns, it has become clear with our conversations with them that income and liability are their only concerns. Delay after delay was given to us as a need to "consult with the team" with no details about what might be the concerns or what we could do to assuage those concerns. I would highly recommend talking to a trained therapist or mental health professional before considering this facility as a legitimate way to get help. Based on our experience this feels like a place that will only take on clients that are high net worth and zero risk.

This place is nothing more than a trap house staffed by individuals that look like they're still in their active meth addiction. Either that or they don't offer their staff dental health benefits because half of them are missing teeth, and look like they just arrived from the nearest homeless shelter. It's dingy, the common areas are carpeted, it's dark, and filthy. Their idea of a 'luxury' private room with king size bed was adjoining two queen size beds together. And they couldn't even do that properly as there was nothing keeping them attached. Therefore you can fall right down the middle. Pathetic. One staff member not only used expletives like a pirate but also managed to call me a Masshole (cause I'm from Massachusetts), only to then give me tips on how to tell good meth from bad meth! Having driven 6 hours to this dump I thought it best to spend the night since it was already dark outside. But first thing in the morning bright and early I was out of there. Though they didn't make it easy. They begged me to please stay even offering to walk my dogs (I brought with me) on my behalf and even take them to the dog park multiple times a day. There I was thinking to myself, 'I don't trust you with MY well-being much less my dogs well-being'! And so I left and hightailed it back to my home. I didn't think a place like this could exist in Malibu, but what this taught me is that even in Malibu one has to do their due diligence in researching a facility. I have since then heard from other individuals that this is a 'body broker' type of place. If you don't know what a 'body broker' is, Google it. Essentially it's when they pay (in one form or another) for someone to get high/use so they can bring them in and charge their health insurance. Alternatively it can also manifest as specifically seeking those in active addiction (regardless of their wanting to get sober or not) and paying/convincing them (one way or another) to come in; and as you may have already guessed: charge their health insurance. It is because of places like Oceanside Malibu that the recovery industry needs to be much more stringently regulated. A place like this dump should not be legally allowed to exist.

If I could give this place negative stars, I would. In my experience, The Pointe Malibu is not a…read morerecovery center--it is a predatory operation hiding behind a facade of luxury and false promises. If you are considering this place for yourself or, worse, a loved one, please, for their safety and well-being: do not send them here. A Luxury Illusion That Disappears on Arrival In my experience, the photos are pure marketing fiction. What's advertised as a serene, high-end recovery center felt more like a low-grade mental institution the moment I arrived. The disconnect between what they sell you and what you get is staggering--and intentional. Health Hazards and Mold Cover-Ups During my stay, there was a serious mold issue that, in my experience, made multiple clients ill. Instead of hiring professionals to remediate it, they literally painted over the mold, sealing in toxins and making it worse. That's not a mistake--that's, in my opinion, a conscious decision to put profit over human safety. Basic Safety Ignored In my room, there wasn't even a smoke detector. This is Malibu--a region devastated by wildfires--and they house vulnerable clients without basic fire safety. In my experience, that level of negligence is horrifying. Unqualified Staff and Power Trips In my experience, the majority of their "therapists" are not fully licensed but associates. The resident assistants were, in my opinion, unqualified and disturbingly eager to exert control over clients rather than provide actual care. This is not a therapeutic environment; it's a toxic one. Gaslighting as Policy Raise a concern, and, in my experience, you are immediately gaslit and dismissed. The ultimate red flag? When I asked to speak with the owners because management was incapable, I was told communication is only allowed "through counsel." What kind of "healing center" refuses to let owners speak to clients except via lawyers? In my opinion, that says everything. Food Unfit for Clients The food was so bad that, in my experience, most clients resorted to DoorDash just to eat. For a facility charging astronomical fees, this was beyond neglect--it was insulting. Predatory Admissions and Broken Promises In my experience, the admissions director Bridget will say absolutely anything to get your money. The moment you arrive and they have it, the promises evaporate, and you see the truth: this place values profit over people and preys on families in crisis. A Plea to Families If you are reading this while considering this facility for someone you love, please listen: In my experience, The Pointe Malibu does not heal--it harms. It does not support--it exploits. There are real recovery centers that value human life over their balance sheet. This is not one of them. Final Verdict: In my experience, The Pointe Malibu is a predatory fraud that endangers the very people it claims to help. For the sake of your own life or the life of someone you care about, run--not walk--away from this place.

When he left for treatment, I was hopeful. I believed their polished promises and glossy marketing. I thought I was sending the person I love to a place that would help him heal. What I got back was someone far sicker, both physically and emotionally, than when he left. In my experience, this facility is a danger to anyone who steps inside. My partner came home with ongoing health problems that he never had before. The severe mold issue inside the houses made him ill, along with several other clients, and instead of fixing the problem, they painted over it. That wasn't just negligence; it was, in my opinion, a reckless disregard for human safety. Months later, he is still suffering from the effects of that exposure, fighting to recover his health because of their shortcuts and indifference. What breaks me most is that this place didn't just damage his body; it damaged his spirit. He left more broken than he went in. In my experience, the environment at The Pointe Malibu is toxic, characterized by unqualified staff, gaslighting when clients speak up, and a culture that prioritizes control and profit over genuine care. When my partner asked to speak to the owners because management was failing to address critical concerns, he was told that all communication had to go "through counsel." That, to me, is the clearest sign of what this place really is, a business built on fear and legal shields, not a sanctuary for recovery. The neglect runs deep. Even the basics weren't met; his room didn't even have a smoke detector, in Malibu of all places, where wildfires are a real and constant threat. The food was so bad that most clients resorted to DoorDash to eat something tolerable. Everything about his experience screamed cost-cutting and exploitation at the expense of people in their most vulnerable state. In my experience, The Pointe Malibu did not heal my partner; it harmed him. It left lasting physical and emotional scars that we are still dealing with every day. If you are reading this and considering this facility for someone you love, please, I am begging you, don't make the same mistake we did. Find a center that values human life and real recovery. This place, in my opinion, is a predatory operation masquerading as care, and sending someone you love there could destroy more than you realize.

Every person who works at Seasons comes from a place of wanting the clients to succeed and it creates an environment of support that leads to healing and recovery from the mental issues and/or addictions that brought you there. Every day, your schedule includes multiple one-on-one sessions. They offer a wide range of modalities and each practitioner embodies their work so completely and believes in the work so deeply that one cannot help but come away feeling a positive change. The different modalities add up to a wholistic change in yourself by taking on issues from a number of entry points - emotional, spiritual, physical. At first, I was skeptical about a few of the modalities but the practitioners were so well educated and dedicated to their work that I my attitude changed and I reaped the rewards in my recovery. Aga, my case manager was invested from the first session we had together and has kept in touch with me after I discharged. My therapist Dr. Ben is the most talented, insightful therapist as I've had. Also, the COO, Dr. Shilati made herself available for any issues or concerns. It is not necessarily a 12 step recovery center but there are so many people who work there that are in 12 step recovery and literature available that it can feel that way if you are looking for it. They offer transportation every morning and evening to 12 step meetings. Including access to Monday through Friday morning meetings on the beach. The location is Lifeguard Tower 10. Lastly, the facilities are of a 5 Star hotel and the chefs who prepare lunch and dinner every day are supremely talented providing a wide variety of multi-course meals.
