First, I'll say my review is strictly based on Anna Mecasa, not her support staff who were all…read morenothing but wonderful. They were professional, caring and kind. The "doctor" however was another story. I would not send anyone I care about to see her, EVER. Unless you already have a definitive diagnosis (and even then) I would strongly recommend finding another rheumatologist, which I understand is difficult in this area, but trust me, it's worth it. The office called me in for a last minute cancelation and I rushed over to the office. She hadn't reviewed a single thing about me and her exam consisted of looking at my hands and feet (all swollen) and asking me to squeeze her fingers. I had to repeat myself several times and she wasn't retaining or hearing anything I said. I gave her the benefit of the doubt, thinking maybe it was because I was a last minute add and she hadn't had time to prep like she might normally do. However I found out some of the scans she ordered had come back with concerning results - to the point that the hospital left multiple messages with the staff and then called me directly, and she never mentioned a word of it...still hasn't. Luckily I watch for my results and saw a different specialist to address. Upon my follow up, she was again unprepared and had no idea what was going on. She relies strictly on lab results, which is dangerous and negligent, in my opinion, when it comes to diagnosing and treating autoimmune diseases. I'm positive for several things (according to multiple labs and recognized diagnostic criteria for several diseases) but not "positive enough" according to her. I showed pictures and documentation I've kept to help provide more clues as to what was going on because I recognize autoimmune diseases can be very difficult to pinpoint and bloodwork labs are never the single diagnostic tool. I had to keep repeating symptoms, she completely dismissed pictures I had shown her and she continued to reference back to ONE set of labs. Mind you multiple other results from other labs were abnormal and positive and multiple other doctors are certain it's something AI related because of the systemic symptoms and presentation. Her solution was, and I quote "take a leave of absence from work and see someone about depression." Incredible. I have never walked out of a doctor appointment, but she is so unbelievably unprofessional that I couldn't listen to another word of her rambling and telling me to "just live a healthy lifestyle." As an active and previously healthy individual who can no longer function on a daily basis - to have her say something so ignorant was beyond appalling. I don't know if she assumes if you're younger you are fine or if she's not well versed in AI diseases or if her bedside manner just sucks that bad. I should have trusted my gut after my experience during and after my first appointment but I was hopeful I was mistaken. I wasted weeks of feeling horrible and not being able to live my life because of her and now I'm back to square one waiting to see a different rheumatologist. My advice is do your own research,  document everything, and find a different rheumatologist to see. She is the kind of healthcare provider that makes you want to give up on the medical field completely. I hope I can save someone else from being treated this way by Anna Macasa.

Then having to repost this review 74 separate times because the doctor is trying to hide what happened. The next step is going to the Oregon Board of Natropathic Medicine. I work full time, just started a full time Masters program, still dealing with extreme fatigue which was the main reason for my visit and I'm STILL trying to get some kind of resolution. I thought Taxman was a good doctor but he was horrible, self flattering, snide, and indifferent to helping me. I'm still flabbergasted because I thought I was choosing a good doctor who could guide me to other good doctors and give me advice. I did not get that at all. He could have rescheduled me with someone else if he knew he wasn't going to help me. People get away with things because they rely on others being quiet about it and I won't be silenced. I asked about my issues, I have year round allergies I asked about and he shrugged and mentioned one drug, that was it. We went over two prescriptions I have, he said wow that's a high dosage when referring to my antidepressant, he did not elaborate. There was a knot on my throat he said he would be willing to see through till the end-- I'm OK, I'll go to another doctor. It's clear he didn't want me in the appointment and he had an attitude the majority of the time. He rolled his eyes twice while I was talking. I read glowing reviews from other patients who he's helped with similar issues before booking. There were STILL several other issues but I'll leave it at that, he seemed confused by the purpose of the visit. I overestimated his abilities as a professional and as a doctor. Taxman has weak character and questionable moral compass if this is how he treats people/patients. Edit: I went to a real doctor and turns out my insomnia/extreme fatigue is from perimenopause, started HRT and my sleep has improved immensely. I didn't expect Taxman to know that necessarily but his suggestion for my sleep issues was that I was bored... and to stop taking day naps...and 6 hours of sleep is normal for some people... Since I said I was going to report my experience with Taxman to the Oregon Board of Natropathic Medicine because Dr Harding and Annie Grossarth weren't doing anything to help me they cancelled my Cymbolta appointment with a different doctor. So if a doctor does anything similar to you and you report it you'll probably be denied access to healthcare here... How many other patients have had similar issues here and they couldn't defend themselves. Try giving patients kindness and dignity, get some ethics training as an organization. I oscillate between empathy for others and self respect. Dr Crum is excellent | great care…read more Our 20 month old had a red rash around his mouth after he came in contact with avocado and chickpea foods. We were referred by our pediatrician to come here. The staff is excellent here. We arrived early for our appointment, filled out 4 pages of paperwork (took 5 min), and was seen within a 5 minute wait. Jonah took down our information and checked our 20 month old's vitals. After that, he gave my son a toy airplane while we waited for Dr Crum. Doctor Crum is excellent. He's very knowledgeable and explained to us what he was planning to test our son for: chickpea, green pea, and avocado. Five pricks total though because we had to have the control and saline. The pricks don't pierce the skin or cause bleeding. They're small too. Jonah was quick and our toddler did very well! A team of 3-4 other staff members came in to check and measure the results on his back. This was all very quick, so we waited about 15 min total. Thankful that our son was showing negative results to all of the testing! Dr Crum gave us various creams to treat any future contact dermatitis flare ups. The whole appointment was very straight forward with friendly and knowledgable staff. I would recommend this place to anyone who experienced asthma or allergies.
