I brought in a gold necklace of my daughters where the clasp was broken. I was charged $45 to fix it, picked it up, and it all of a sudden no longer fits around my daughter's neck. I had a ring that was missing a small diamond so I decided to get it fixed. Since David Jewelers is closest to my house, I wanted to get an estimate there. Upon entering, I was greeted by very friendly puppies, 2 in fact. He had a third one (19 year old pug) in the back sleeping. The owner gave me an estimate and I thought it was reasonable so I left the ring there. He promised it would be about a week until he can get to it. To my pleasant surprise, I received a call the very next day asking me to pick up my ring. When I arrived for pick up, I almost didn't recognize my ring. The missing diamond was replaced and the ring was cleaned. It was so clean and scratches removed, it looked brand new. I would highly recommend bringing any jewelry repair there. They also do watch battery replacements. On a person note, I wish I had another reason to visit those puppies! read more

I'm pretty sure this place does great work based on the other reviews, but it smells strongly of cigarette smoke inside. After only a few minutes, my wife started having asthma attack. We tried leaving, but they have to buzz you out. No one noticed the woman coughing and wheezing at the door trying to leave. No one apparently heard us asking to please be let out. I used this little jeweler before for jewelry repairs. He sends everything out. I brought my expensive Rado watch in for a simple battery replacement. It had been working for well over a year before the battery died. David took the watch in back and came out claiming that there was a piece missing and things had been put together backwards. How can that be if it ran before I brought it in? He claimed to put some sort of padding in to hold the works in place. Bottom line -it stopped working. I brought this to a reputable jeweler and was told pieces were missing and it would cost me $280.00 to repair it. I recommend you don't use this jeweler for any expensive items. He is only qualified to replace batteries in Timex quality watches. Very disappointed. read more

Do not go here. Took my Michele watch in for a battery replacement. Simple job. Watch was in perfect condition, zero issues. The owner comes out and tells me that my watch is "broken" and he will have to send it to his "watch repair guy". I explained that the watch was fine 2 minutes ago and he broke it. He broke the crown/stem right off! He just repeated over and over that he did not break it. No apology or offer to pay for his mistake. Beware of this place. read more

It is my absolute pleasure to write this review for David! I moved here 18 months ago from St. Charles, Illinois where I had a neighborhood jeweler that I adored. So, when I needed to find that same relationship I turned to Yelp. My fellow Yelpers were the perfect bridge between my needs for a jeweler because I lost 2 small princess diamonds in my beloved wedding ring. For me, a jeweler is like a family member. You entrust them with something so valuable (emotionally and financially) and it's important to know they feel the same about you. David does just that! We first went in to see David with our wedding ring problem. Before we could address the lost diamonds, we had to address the fact that the ring would not come off my finger. David, with great humor and care, gently sawed and then cut the ring off my finger. It could have been so much worse, but David diffused the situation and made me feel comfortable. He then took the ring so he could exactly match the new stones. I will update this part of the review when I get that ring back. A week later, I brought David a menagerie of rings and watches that needed some TLC. David cleaned, inspected, polished, batteried, and resized my things. A previous Yelper mentioned that his jewelry came out of David's shop better looking than it was originally and I remember chuckling about that. But it's TRUE!! My rings looked better than brand new and you would never know that any work was done on any of them. David is an absolute GEM of the highest quality. We wholeheartedly trust David. We are going to work with him on designing an anniversary band for us as well. The first time we were in his shop, we got to watch him work with an adorable young couple as they were designing a unique engagement ring. David was just as excited as they were; he was informative teaching them about the different stones as well as insuring them that it will be exactly what they are wanting.
