I have tried everything I can think of . Great Dr just not sure that the office is running very efficiently. There are few places that could make me feel the type of disdain that I feel towards this office. I even debated putting through this review the first time around but they screwed up a diagnosis to have one surgery done that did not solve the actual issue for my husband's hand and resulted in another year-long wait for recovery to do the correct surgery. This could have easily been avoided if anybody at the office was competent enough to follow up, communicate, and ask questions the several times we've been there, but instead they disregarded any responsibilities. To start, the front office is horrendous. When trying to make appointments, they would get rescheduled or say there's an issue and never get back to you. There was a point where we were told to make a call for an appointment and they did not answer for a week when my husband tried, even while leaving voicemails and asking to call back. I had an off day and called every 15 minutes and finally got them to pick up after the 4th try. Additionally, the only time they actually got things done are when I had to be aggressively assertive, otherwise we were dismissed. I felt bad that I had to be so curt with the staff all the time to even get an answer on when we could come in. Second, Dr. Kupfer seems like an effective surgeon but didn't seem to double-check with diagnoses. When my husband's hand and came in, he mentioned his PMC thought he might have one issue, and Dr. Kupfer just said that was correct. They went ahead with steroid shots and then surgery. If he took time to diagnose the issue himself since he's a specialist, he would've known the original guess of the general doctor was incorrect. This wasted a year of time and forced us to go through with one surgery when he could've done his job right the first time around. Finally, the office wastes your time. I already mentioned how horrible they are at communication, but I didn't mention how we've been to the office for appointments maybe 6 times. Of the 6, only 3 seemed necessary because the others were "follow-ups" where the doctor didn't even see us. He was literally told "you're recovering nicely" and had us on the way after 30 minutes of waiting and multiple days attempting to schedule that "necessary" appointment. If this is the only office your insurance puts you through, I am so sorry. Dr. Kupfer is great with the surgeries themselves. But you are in for a god-awful time with the service here. If you have a choice, find somewhere else to save you the headache. read more

I had surgery last year and there were 3 different doctors who saw the surgery. They all said the same thing that he didn't do it correctly and that he only made it worse. He is an aesthetic doctor but less efficient in surgeries related to work accidents. I wouldn't recommend it. He's only interested in the insurance money. He is too arrogant and his receptionist does not answer phone calls. My age is 25 years old and he doesn't care about me, my life changed for the worse because of him. read more

I have been chasing this doctor for a final follow up and have been rescheduled now for the 4th time. 4 days off wasted waiting in his waiting room, 4 times I've had to change my entire schedule and just to be told we'll we are cancelling you cause he wants to go home early. My experience in this office was limited to one visit as I refused to ever go back. In my opinion Dr. Kupfer has poor bedside manner. Didn't introduce himself to me or even look at me as he started asking me questions about my medical history. Refused to look at my most recent MRI before giving me a diagnosis. The staff was ok. Dr. Kupfer and his office are absolutely awesome. I have been dealing with some difficult day to day pain. I have been searching for relief. His office heard my urgency and fit me in between patients. I told him what was going on and he knew exactly what to do. For the first time in months I am feeling relief. My son got injured and I was referred to this office. I was willing to travel to San Diego so he could receive the best of care, I was beyond disappointed as the staff is unfriendly and unwelcoming. People walk in and out of the room without letting you know who they are, treatment is in and out. No compassion, empathy or concern for the patient whatsoever. Dr. Kupfer is even worse, he came in and left in less than a minute. I'm glad my copays are so high for a 1 minute consult, he didn't explain anything, didn't ask if we had any quesions/concerns. I leave more concerned than when I walked in. I will definitely take my hard earned money and make sure I get quality care with someone who still cares for patients health, instead of making his pockets heaftier. Dr. Kupfer and his staff were the worst! His staff talks about their personal lives walking up and down the halls. Dr Kupfer came into my room and didn't even introduce himself. He just started talking to me about my injury... I had to Interrupt and ask him if he was the surgeon. He didn't wear gloves when doing my exam nor did he wash his hands before. ...at least I didn't see that he did. Other patient doors were just left open while people are in the rooms. He never made eye contact with me and didn't go over the actual procedure itself...just said someone will be in to do pre-op paperwork....WAIT, WHAT???? How about I don't want you to be the surgeon I go with. The guy who brought in the pre-op paperwork was more worried about me knowing where the map was in my folder to get to the surgical center then about explaining the papers I was filling out. It's a bunch of Nepoleon's working in this office. The aesthetics of both surgeries were bad. He did not do a good job. 3.) Lacks basic communication skills and transparency. Please, do your due diligence and research. AVOID THIS OFFICE LIKE THE PLAGUE. Dr Joshua Pal's office at Dr Kupfer's office continues to book 2 patients in the same time slot and has little respect for patients time. This problem is systemic, and pervasive. I'm expected to be here early, but the doctor consistently sees me and other patients over 45 minutes after the scheduled appointment time, just to write a simple prescription. If it takes you 30 minutes to view, address, and write up the encounter with a patient, do NOT book your appointments any more frequent than that. I just lost 3 hours of revenue today because of this appointment, and the doctor/PA couldn't see me because there was such a backlog of patients, so now I'm expected to show up again. I will lose more revenue, waste more of my time, and still walk out with my day in ruins. How about screw you, write my prescription and I'll pick it up when I have free time. Quit wasting my goddamn time, and that of other patients. I walked into the office today and heard patients complaining about the wait, so you know the problem isn't the patient, but with the business, and it has been this way for at least the two years I've been coming here. Maybe it's time to take my business elsewhere. How long do I have to wait to be written a simple prescription? Apparently the answer is 2 hours. This issue was addressed during one of my previous visits, and I was asked to change my review because it is on Dr. Kupfer's business page. I am still giving a 1 Star review because the problem continues. Every time I see the doctor, I have to take time off work. That takes money out of my pockets, and food out of my son's mouth. The wait times were a little Bit ridiculous but considering I went on a day when a few physicians were working out of the office I gave a bit of grace. Once I was finally able to see the doctor I really appreciated Dr. Kupfers genuine personality and his ability to relate person to person. I feel like he was really humble and kind. I had a bad experience at this doctors clinic unfortunately for me I have to finish my treatment there for my hands but I will not allow them to treat me for my second claim the front desk is garbage they are rude ! I waited 45 minutes after my appointment and I finally got up to ask how much longer the girl at the front counter rude with a bad attitude and harsh tone told me "your appt time was actually 11:15 she continued to walk away while saying let me go check just her demeanor towards me like I was bothering her got so upset I had to leave before my reaction(attitude) got the best of me. I have visited Dr Kupfer about seven times now, four times before surgery, and now for the follow ups. He is amazing, he tells it like it is, gives you plenty of information about your diagnosis, what to expect before and after surgery, etc. I wish I had the same quality of care from my Primary care Physician, or other doctors I occasionally see. His staff is very efficient, very quick to respond to messages or to get you additional paperwork or forms if needed. I am a chronic pain patient with nerve pains all over my body, from my cervical spine to my finger tips. I have been going to Dr. David Kupfer office since October 2018 to get pain management and injections and I would like to say that I has some pain relief since the injections and I would highly recommend this office If you want a change in treatment. I been a chronic pain patient for 7years and this is the first time in my life that I got some relief. The office is busy cause he cares for his patients and want to see improvement. He might not be seen at times, but just know when you are seen personally he would help give you a better understanding of pain relief. I would recommend his office, his staff is professional and on time when I come in on appointments, the office stay busy, the documents is thoroughly detailed and I pray that my up and coming surgery would be a breeze. The ladies at the front desk are incredibly rude. Nobody greets you when you walk in and everybody "acts" too busy to help you. Theres no communication whatsoever. You just have to hope somebody calls your name. Very unprofessional and hortible customer service. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Kupfer for 2 years now. The doc and his staff have always been very accommodating, polite, and professional. Dr. Kupfer did surgery on my right hand in 2012. This was a very difficult recovery for a woman over 60 so I decided to wait until I was completely recovered (5 months time was not enough to regain full use of my hand) before having surgery on my left hand. In the meantime, Dr. Kupfer gives me kenalog injections, which alleviates the swelling and pain; however I can only have 3 injections in a 12 month period. I've had other health issues to deal with and now it's time for the injection so I called his office and the person answering (I think a Maria... couldn't hear her well) decided to give me the third degree... was my case settled... had i gone to court... it's been over three months since i was seen, etc. I explained that i get the injections every 4 months. Every excuse she gave me for not scheduling me and having to contact the insurance to see if they will pay, I explained and her response was always "i know that". Then why did you ask!!! I told her no one has ever hasseled me the way she is doing. I call, I'm given an appointment, and I go in and it takes him 5-10 min at the most to inject my left hand. I go to the Murrieta office and supposedly 6/28 is completely full. She promised to call me for a cancellation... hmm... do I trust that she will? Not really! Dr. Kupfer's skills, ability and knowlege deserves a 5 star but due to this one staff member he lost a star! read more

He is quite their leader because he is just as unprofessional, and rude as his staff!!! When I attempted to speak to him about the problems with his staff weeks ago, he was less than receptive of my concerns and walked away from me, while mumbling under his breath. His response was less than desireable. They deserve each other!!! It takes so much more energy to be rude, and mistreat others than it does to be kind, and show concern. After all it is a Dr.'s office... There are long wait times to see the licensed unprofessionals here, and long wait times to be released after seeing them, which is incredibly excessive!! Last but not least, if Kupfer diagnosis you, get a second opinion ASAP!! Better than that.......Just pass by that idiot!
