Once Dr. Sedler came in they got right to work measuring my gums and checking all of my teeth. They worked together like lyrics to a song... Once they were finished Dr. Sedler explained what the numbers meant...The good news...My gums are okay. We will watch them periodically to make sure they do not get worse... I was so nervous about the experience, but from start to finish, the entire experience exceeded my expectations (if that's even possible for a gum recession procedure!). I was referred to Dr Levine by my dentist, I called to make an appt and asked if they accepted my insurance. I was told yes, they do. I had a consult with Dr Levine, who is a kind man. They took pictures, told me how to brush my teeth properly and sent me on my way. I was scheduled for a follow up to see if my issue resolved when i got a bill for $186 I called the office twice asking about this charge to no avail. Hello Yelpers! Is there anything worse that a periodontist (gum specialist) referral? Yes. An endodontist (root canal) referral. That is going to hurt. Back to the periodontist ... Dr. David Levine is a hit. Referred by my general dentist, Dr. Levine is a Delta Dental provider and, though many perio procedures are not covered by insurance, the Delta coverage is as good as it gets. Be prepared, though, for a jaw dropping co-pay. Of course, the jaw itself is saved, so it's a win. Can a guy this nice be this good? Yes. On the USC dental school faculty, Dr. Levine is a renowned periodontist of awesome skill. I needed two implants and the work is flawless. He's an extremely gentle dentist who will take as much time as necessary to explain everything that's going on; you will not find a better chair-side manner in this town. I alternate my teeth cleanings between the general dentist and Dr. Levine's office for maximum gum health (Delta pays for two cleanings per year). Friendly and accommodating office staff; tons of free parking on the neighborhood side streets. Fear the periodontist no longer. read more

Dr. Levine, his associates, assistants and front desk staff are superb! Thankfully, I only needed a small procedure to fix a receding gum on 1 tooth. It was a front top tooth. It honestly bothered me so much because it wasn't symmetrical. Don't brush too hard! That's what I did without knowing and over a period of time it got worse. Sure, my teeth aren't anywhere close to the regular patients that come through but I wanted and needed this fixed. I was referred to Dr. Levine from my Dentists (who are awesome too! DNA Dental Studio in Burbank) and everything about the procedure from beginning to end was professional. Sure, it was still a bit painful even with the local numbing and the sight of huge needles freaked me out lol! They offered to prescribe me Xanax for the day of the procedure to calm my anxiety but I turned it down. I simply didn't want more meds than necessary, it's just my personal preference. I followed through on a strict schedule with the prescribed mouth wash and other prescribed medications, ibuprofen when I needed it and ate only soft foods. Make sure you eat plenty of super steamed vegetables like broccoli and I suggest taking protein shakes because it's the nutritional foods that will help you heal quicker! The healing time with stitches was 2 weeks. After getting the stitches removed I still needed to be gentle with the area and give it more time to heal on its own. I was looking at it everyday because i was so paranoid of it not becoming symmetrical, but it ended up PERFECTLY!! Even my own sister and brother-in-law who are dentists couldn't tell I went through the procedure of a gum graft. I told them afterwards and they were shocked at how perfect it looked. I'm so happy with the results and I highly recommend Dr. Levine and his associates! They are all very professional! read more

This review is for Dr. Choe. I have had a few dental procedures like extractions and implants in my lifetime and it can cause anxiety, pain and fear not knowing what to expect. My experience with Dr. Choe was the best ever with minimal discomfort or pain and quick healing. Dr. Levine and his staff are TOP NOTCH. I was referred to his office two years ago or so by my primary dentist Raymond Ricci, also a great guy, because they wanted to keep an eye on my gum recession. Well the day finally came and I needed to have gum graft surgery (March 22). I was very scared especially when I was told I would be awake for the procedure. I needn't have worried. Dr. Levine has a very gentle touch and the procedure was done before I knew it. Yes, the bit of sedative must have helped, but really. Not bad at all. I just had the stitches removed today (April 4) and while it's not fully healed yet, of course, I did not experience much pain. Mild discomfort but I was advised how to modify my diet, brush, etc. He says the healing is going well. Phew! I highly recommend Dr. Levine to you. read more

I was referred by my dentist to Dr. Diana Sedler, in Dr. Levine's office. My prior dentist had neglected to notice a cavity between a back tooth and the tooth next to it, which already had a crown. He extracted the back tooth and did a root canal and new crown on the other. It was horrible. I had severe swelling, bleeding, and it took 1 1 /2 years for the numbness in my lip to go away. Post procedure, I switched dentists. My new one told me that the crowned tooth was bad and needed to go. I was terrified. My dentist referred me to Dr. Sedler, and she is wonderful. She brought in an anesthesiologist for me, removed the bad tooth, and did a graft to fix the mess at the previously extracted tooth. That was yesterday. I have little to no paid, no swelling, no bleeding. I highly recommend her. read more

I was referred to Dr Levine's office by my current dentist Dr Chetty for an implant. First I have have to explain I'm seriously afraid of dentists, but I wasn't going to go without a tooth. My surgeon was Dr. Choe at this facility, he took the time to explain from start to finish what was going to transpire on my consultation. The staff and Dr. Choe, made me relaxed the day of my surgery I felt absolutely no pain. Took the antibiotics that was prescribed and the pain medication for that day, and the following day. By the 2nd day was good to return to my part time job and have since returned for my follow up appointment and everything looked great. I have been a patient of Dr. Levine for 25+ years and counting. I started seeing Dr. Levine 25+ years ago to get my teeth cleaned as his hygienists do amazing deep cleaning. I went to Dr. Levine because he was conveniently located in Burbank near my employment at the studios nearby. His hygienists are professional, kind and friendly. They do amazing job on my teeth. I had a few family emergencies commencing in January 2018 which preoccupied my time for 14 months. During that time, I did not give my teeth the care they needed. I developed a few terrible cavities that required crowns and periodontal surgery. When my dentist informed me of such, there was no question that I would see Dr. Levine for the periodontal surgery. I knew that he was a the professor for periodontal surgery at USC School of Dentistry. He performed periodontal surgery one week ago. I am pleased to report that my surgery was a complete success. I was concerned about cost when I called Delta Dental and they assured me that everyone in their bank of Dentists abides by Delta's pricing expectations. Here is what my twenty-year experience has been with Dr. Levine and his team. DR. LEVINE'S WORK ETHIC: From the very first time I met Dr. Levine, there was something about his demeanor that communicated to me "I will take good care of you." Indeed, that's what he has done for me. Dr. Levine treats me with a high degree of professionalism. He takes the time to explain and reassure me of my periodontal needs. He answers my every question either at his office or telephonically. He listens carefully to my concerns, and offers his expertise. I have had four dental implants performed by Dr. Levine and the process that I went through for each was flawless. I am currently on my fifth (and hopefully last) dental implant and the surgery for it went just as flawlessly as the first four. Minimum pain or side-effects, if any. After the 5th implant surgery this past June 10th, I immediately went to have lunch and see a movie. The next day, I went to the Zoo all day! Another point about him that I sincerely appreciate is that he never recommends anything I do not need. For example, I have asked him if I could get rid of a bridge and replace it with an implant. His answer: "Let's wait. The bridge is very stable." He never "UP-SELLS" me on anything. He tells me what I need and I trust in his judgment, which has NEVER steered me wrong. When I come for my cleaning, he always comes in to check my mouth and to make sure everything is alright with me. I always enjoy our interaction. COST OF DENTAL WORK: As stated previously, cost was an issue for me. After all, who wants to pay more than they have to? So I appreciated learning from Delta Dental that the cost for all procedures by his office lived up to Delta Dental's standards. I have heard of horror stories about dental implant procedures and I am so happy and appreciative that I have NEVER had any problems with Dr. Levine's masterful work. OFFICE: His Dental Office is absolutely classy. Very clean and sterile. I have been to Dental Offices wherein you are literally in cubicles and you can see every person down the hall being treated. He has private rooms for each patient. His staff is very courteous, helpful, and accessible. When I call about anything, they see to my needs and answer all of my concerns. DENTAL HYGIENIST: Everyone in Dr. Levine's team of Hygienists are professionals. Some of them are even teachers at renowned Dental Hygiene schools. BEWARE!! This dental office tries to perform expensive dental procedures that aren't needed! One of the dentists tried convincing me to have him perform (and bill my insurance) for about $4,000+ worth of periodontal work that wasn't needed! First, to be fair, I was referred to Dr. Levine for an initial consultation, but since he had no openings for two months, I met instead with his associate Dr. Choe. I only needed some minor periodontal work done to prep my teeth for braces and invisiline trays. I wasted an hour of my time with Dr. Choe who was trying to "sell" me to do more involved periodontal work because he said my teeth would be healthier before the braces go on. My teeth were not in horrible shape as my general dentist already told me. I just needed a little deep cleaning and scraping before the braces. I only had one or two teeth with pockets measuring 5-6. After Dr. Choe finished meeting with me, their office manager Cathy came in to give me their proposed estimate. They wanted $4,000!! Obviously, I hit the roof. I asked her why so much? Her response was "well, it's a major procedure that involves cutting your gums and stitches." Huh?!! Not once during my consult with Dr. Choe did he say anything about cutting into my gums and needing stitches! Not once! So why the heck am I paying him for a consult when he didn't even thoroughly explain the whole procedure? The office manager is telling me instead? I told her flat out "no" and I was getting a second opinion, which I did from a wonderful periodontist located one floor below them, in suite 204. I'm not bashing Dr. Levine as a dentist because I didn't meet with him. He may be a great dentist. However, this is his practice and he has an associate in his office that's obviously trying to perform expensive dental services that are not needed. Sorry, the buck stops with him. Do yourself a favor, if you want an excellent periodontist who will be completely honest and not try to rob you blind with unnecessary, expensive dental work, go see Taylor Hoang DDS in suite 204 of this same building, 3808 W. Riverside Dr., Burbank, CA 91505. She is a wonderful and thorough dentist who took care of my needs for about a quarter of what Dr. Choe wanted to charge. And she confirmed that I didn't need my gums cut into and stitches, just deep cleaning and scraping. And she even did the work herself, not a technician. Everyone in her office is awesome. It took just two visits and a few weeks of healing, and now I have my braces. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Levine's for years and years. When I first came to him, my periodontal disease had already taken its toll on my gums and bone. Dr. Levine started me on cleanings every 3 months instead of 6 months, and the health of my mouth improved substantially (I also use a Sonicare toothbrush and floss). I put off having the recommended pocket reduction surgery until I lost a molar. Dr. Levine did an implant (it's perfect) and I agreed, finally, to the pocket reduction surgery because losing the molar freaked me out. My teeth are in terrific shape now, no bleeding with cleanings and my gums and teeth look clean and healthy. It is always a pleasure to visit the office; the staff is wonderful--professional and so efficient, and my dental hygienist, Virginia Lawrence, is possibly the best hygienist in the world. I was referred to Dr. Levine by my general dentist for deep cleaning and implants more than 10 years ago. I remember when I went in for my initial consultation, I was extremely nervous, but Dr. Levine, his hygienist, and staff made the experience so awesome for me. When I found out that my hygienist of 10 years started teaching full-time and she will no longer be there, I was very hesitant and nervous to try another hygienist. If you are used to having your hygienist brush your teeth gently and complete the cleaning in 20 minutes, then this is not for you. You will realize in a few years when your gums start opening up and you get deep pockets everywhere (as I did). If your cleaning doesn't hurt a little bit, then it's not a cleaning. Was told by 2 people, the receptionists and the lady next to her who checks you out that there would be NO CHARGE for the initial meet and greet look see. Levine took a picture of my mouth with his personal camera and I might have been in his chair for 10 min.We agreed on a price for the implants. Employee Kathy refused the deal and raised my price by $200.00 or said they would'nt do it. I went to my regular dentist for a cleaning and was told Levine charged $122.00 for the initial meeting which drained my insurance funds.They took it all. I believe they would have taken more if SAG hadn't limited my funds to 1000.00 per year. BEWARE and get it in writing. read more
