His wife answered my call with an awesome focus on such a high level of customer service that I would hire her for a vp position if her husband, the locksmith David, would permit. He is capable of opening, rekeying or replacing almost any lock - including the newest remote control car keys. He rekeyed my 5 door locks of which 3 had key pads. He met the exact price promised by his wife prior to David's arrival. For folks who follow me on this site, you know that I give praise when due but am equally forthright letting you know about the one's whom I recommend that you avoid, or at least pay be credit card, so that you can get your $ back. I accidentally messed up my Baldwin mortise lock and was very unsure of how to fix the mechanism/get it back on my door. I found David as the number 1 locksmith in my area on yelp and called and spoke with Lita. She mentioned David could come tomorrow morning, but to send her pictures of my lock to walk me through a solution. Upon sending her the pictures she let me know David was on his way now and would be there in about 30 minutes. He got here right on time, knew exactly how to fix my lock and offered to rekey all my locks to one key. I also really appreciated his advice and conversation while he was here. David saved us from serious unpleasantness during our Thanksgiving trip home to Rockville. We realized we were locked out of the place we were staying when we got back after a day of sightseeing with our two, now hungry and tired kids. The keys were inside but we weren't. David is a skilled craftsman and very knowledgeable. A month ago a different company sent a locksmith to open a door lock that was stuck, and after opening it, he said he couldn't repair the lock, and I would need to install a completely new lock and deadbolt. He charged a ridiculous fee to do this. The new lock was very unsightly. I emailed photos of the parts of the old lock, which I had kept, to David, and he was able to give me a quote before coming out to reinstall the old lock.. He said the first guy who came could have fixed the problem in a few minutes and didn't need to remove the old lock and install a new one. We now have the beautiful hardware of our original lock in place, and the lock works great. I highly recommend David. He takes pride in his work and does right by the customer. read more

I was returning from a business trip. Got home, and realized my keys were gone. Called my neighbor who keeps a spare, she was away for the weekend, but gave me David's number. I called and he agreed to come right out away even though it was rush hour. He apologized, but told me it might take up to 40 minutes due to traffic. Right in the midst of the Covid-19 outbreak, our door lock decided to give us problems. Even if we aren't going out much due to self-quarantining, having a malfunctioning lock made no sense. Strong recommendation. My wife and I needed matching sets of deadbolts and knobs installed, after dealing with mishaps like stripped screwheads and bolts that weren't aligning with the deadbolt well. I had an issue with the ignition cylinder in my car and the key would not come out. Lita was very responsive and asked all the right questions in order to get me a quote. I had also called 3 other locksmiths in the area to make sure the pricing was in the ballpark. One of the other locksmiths said they couldn't do the work and the other 2 were 75% or more higher in price than David. I had locked my keys in my car and only had 8% battery left on my phone to make a call - David came out as fast as humanly possible and had my keys back out in minutes for a very reasonable rate. The auto entry function on my keys is broken, and David left me a business card and a quote for a new key for about half the price of a dealership without ever pressuring or upselling me at all.
