Where do I even start. I selected oral sedation for my gum graft surgery and was billed as such…read moreprior to my appointment. However, I was never prescribed a sedative in the group of 3 other medications they prescribed for me to pick up, so I assumed I would be given it on the day of my surgery. Nope. When I showed up they immediately took me back and I started panicking and asked where the sedative would be, and they tried to turn it on me and say I never picked it up (later they admitted to having never prescribed it). They still wanted to go ahead with the surgery with NO SEDATIVE and NO PAINKILLERS. At this point I was ready to cancel my surgery on the spot and run, but the doctor offered to make up for it with an IV sedative, *free of charge*. After the surgery I had nightmares for weeks due to how pushy they were to operate on me regardless of not having the proper sedative set up. They also got blood all over my shirt. I had already pre-paid my insurance estimate ahead of time, and just received a bill in the mail stating I owed another several hundred dollars. Upon closer inspection I realized they did end up charging me over $600 extra for the IV sedation that I had been told would be free of charge. The graft itself actually caused worse recession of my gums as it was placed too low and started pulling down my gumline. I went to another periodontist after for a second opinion and they said that not only had the surgery been completely unnecessary, but it was done via a decades out of date technique. They recommended I get treatment immediately for the recession caused by the IPANW surgeon. Lastly, I'd like to give an honorary mention to the receptionists at IPANW who are some of the most miserable, egotistical women I've met in my life. Coming into the office or giving them a call was always an awful experience and they did everything they could to make it as unwelcoming as possible. In the beginning when they'd forgotten to prescribe the oral sedative, they even hung up on me mid-call because they refused to accept that it had been their issue. Later their billing department performed an investigation and found that it had indeed been their fault. I highly, HIGHLY recommend avoiding this place and looking somewhere else. They've caused me so much pain, misery, and financial stress for an operation I hadn't even needed.

While I completely understand that I would ultimately need to be seen for an evaluation and treatment plan, I do feel that is is reasonable to ask for pricing for a specific service/procedure that has been outlined by another professional. I was informed that it was the policy of the office not to provide pricing over the phone, and when I started to say "Ok thank you, I think you should provide feedback to the owner..." the woman on the phone literally said "I'm going to stop you right there" and hung up the phone on me. I am not going to debate whether or not they should provide pricing over the phone (I think they should, they think they shouldn't which is their right), but to actually hang up on me mid sentence was a strange experience to say the least. I hesitated to post this review, but felt like it needed to be shared. Side note: I don't think it should be this hard to get pricing from different providers (medical or dental). Customers should be able to shop around especially for procedures costing thousands of dollars. I'm glad others have had a positive experience with this place, and I hope that continues...

My procedure…read moreinvolved taking a piece of the gum from the inside top of mouth and transferring it to the outside gum line.--not super exciting, BUT, if you have to do it this is the place to have it done. Everyone dealt with in this office was top notch. The receptionist was very personable and had incredible positive energy at 8am. I felt welcome right away. I met with Dr Tarletons assistant and was led to a very clean room for the procedure. The Doctor and his assistant were very efficient AND proficient. As sucky as getting your mouth carved up is, these people made me feel like they genuinely cared about me and were doing their very best to make my procedure comfortable. I'm 40 years old and have been to many many many dental offices. This was the best one.

The office is tucked away on a street off NE 185th Street, just past the Harbor Homes. They have their own private lot, so parking is easy to find. Making an appointment was simple and quick, thanks to the helpful staff. My first visit to the office was back in October 2024. I was seen by Dr. Gillian Lim and the dental hygienist, Ben. Ben performed the initial exam and cleaning, and then Dr. Lim came in to greet me and do one final check and cleaning. The entire staff was very warm and welcoming! My first impression of the office and staff was so positive that I decided to bring my parents here as well. During my parents' initial visit, I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Karen Wang, who was also very warm and welcoming to both them and me. She paid a lot of attention to my parents and made sure they were comfortable during their dental workup. Dr. Wang was very helpful in explaining any additional dental work that needed to be done and made sure to answer any questions I had. My mom even praised Dr. Wang for focusing entirely on her--the patient--rather than engaging in small talk with staff while working. She had experienced that kind of distracted care with a previous dentist and wasn't a fan of it. Dr. Kirkland is my primary dentist, though I have also been treated by Dr. Bennet, who is excellent as well. Colleen does a wonderful job with cleanings and routine care. She is thorough, gentle, and always attentive. Jenna runs the office with real professionalism and efficiency, especially when it comes to billing and scheduling, so there are never surprises. Dr. Kirkland is outstanding. She is meticulous, highly skilled, and clearly takes pride in doing things the right way the first time. Danniél is excellent as well, and her clinical support during procedures adds to the calm, efficient, and high-quality care the practice provides. They again assured me it was covered. Fast forward to after the procedure, billing now tells me that it was not covered. Now, they are demanding $1400 and unwilling to compromise. Very annoying and deceitful.

I had been a patient of Dr. Svino's for 10 years. I had a crown she installed that broke multiple…read moretimes. The second and third time it broke, the temporary crown I was given had a sharp edge that sliced my tongue and I had to go back three times to have it fixed. The third time it broke it was under warranty and they did a rushed job and the permanent crown was not color matched. Finally the Crown broke a fourth time and I found a different dentist. I discovered that she was still using crowns made of pure porcelain, and most dentists now use a combination material that is more sturdy than porcelain alone. Also when I told them I was switching dentists, there was no follow up to find out why. I find this lack of curiosity telling. I think they must know that they are doing poor work.
