Such a sad decline in service. My family and I have been going here for over 40 years (back with Dr Robinson) with the highest of quality care and compassion for the patients. You always knew who the staff were because of a very low turnover rate and family/positive working atmosphere. Even when I moved to Tacoma I would return for my 6 month cleanings just to go to Kenmore Dental. We have always had very routine 6 month check ups. Recently, every member of my family was told by Dr Pria that they needed additional treatments (fillings, root canals, crowns). Upon second and third opinions none of this was true. Now, everything is about the money. We just received notice that our insurance (Delta Dental or Premera) is no longer accepted by Kenmore Dental. Every time we have come in or called, the staff are all new. I do believe staff turnover is a direct reflection of the highest level of management. I understand businesses need to move on, but this is so sad for the legacy Dr Robinson (and family) and Dr Conway built. read more

This place used to be great under Dr Cornwell administration. Now, under Dr Priya is totally different. It feels more money-oriented than patient well-being-oriented. She let the good staff go, brought new people that in my opinion do not have the genuinely good attitude that the old gals had, and also they are way less professional. They told us our kid needed tongue surgery and Priya talked to us directly about how dangerous my kids "condition" was. She referred us to her "friend" in Bellevue who oh! Happened to be a surgeon who (obviously) recommended surgery as the only solution (gave us the budget and everything in less than one minute). She even said that if we did not correct my child's tongue by surgery, she had big chances to have speech issues! (My child is speaking perfectly now 2 years later, btw). They raised our anxiety levels trough the roof unnecessarily, pushing for a surgery $$$$. I talked to some friends and they recommended to have her seen somewhere else. We took her to a new place (Kenmore Pediatric Dentistry) and after being seen for many doctors at the same appointment, check this out WITHOUT ADDITIONAL CHARGES, they said that her tongue was perfect, her teeth were aligned, she can and will not have any speech issues and they recommended to check with her main doctor to see if she will recommend removing her tonsils which were too big for her age, but totally normal in some kids. They were not looking for new busine$$, but for the wellbeing of my kid. Dr Priya even tried to charge me for the same procedure TWICE. Now ai laugh but at the moment she made us go through hell at home just for her urgent need of billing patients. read more

Use to be a great dentist, however since this new gal came in and bought the practice, everything has gone to hell. I was a patient for over 15 years with dr Conway. He used to preach that original equipment is the best equipment. Granted I have my share of problems from hereditary family teeth problems. I was in the middle of finding out which way I wanted to go with my teeth (dentures or implants) they had referred me to 2 separate referrals. Neither of which did I care for as they wanted to go back and forth between the dentist and a specialist (I am looking for a one stop shop) also I needed to get away from this toxic place. I had gotten an infection in my tooth( which they told me about and had maintained with amoxicillin.(had it for a while with dr Conway) at no time did dr Conway ever say that we should pull the tooth because he knew, and I knew, that the infection would move to the next tooth and so on. I know my body. Upon calling for a refill of amoxicillin she flat out refused, said I need to pull the tooth., if I had listened to every time a dentist told me to pull a tooth, I'd have been in dentures 10-15 years ago. I eventually threw a fit, told her that I would find amoxicillin somewhere else. She immediately backpedaled and said she wasn't saying she wouldn't refill (a lie). She eventually refilled and guess what, infection came down and I still have my tooth. But not without a fight, the pharmacy never received anything from the dentist, so I text her to see why not, she stated that she sent In again. I responded which "k" as I was driving to work. She came back with ' I'd appreciate some kindness to the people who are trying to fulfill your needs' I was shocked, isn't that what your in business for? She obviously has a massive chip on her shoulders. I was driving for gods sake, I responded finally when I got to my destination' your kidding right?' Then I thanked her for taking the time out of her day to tend to my needs. This place has turned very caddy! And there is nothing worse. Later, I had to reschedule due to getting Covid. About 2 weeks later, I was sent a letter stating that SHE was cancelling our doctor patient privilege. Which is fine, this appointment was to be my last anyway. But the unprofessionalism of her is not ever what I've experienced from this place in the 15 years I've been there. I really feel for the employees. Most have seen the writing in the wall and have departed. I'm sure since they have posted that they need help, more are on the way out. It's just sad that since dr Conway left, many veterans had left also and this place has been turned upside down . She stated In The letter that my level of needs is beyond the doctor's capability. No, you just want perfect teeth to come in every time and not have to actually work at the things you were taught in dental school. You want the 75%ers and not the other 25, that's fine, that right there is what separates you from dr Conway. This practice will never survive with that mantality. Dr Conway always said that he would never charge people for gas if they needed it, now they are charging 75.00 for some stupid headset that you bring with you at your appointments and on top of that, they charging for the actual gas. Unbelievable Bottom line, she does not want to do anything other than cleaning only, which is a far cry from dr Conway. I have given this place 5 stars for over 15 years, I am sad to say that this place doesn't even deserve one star. Avoid avoid avoid There are many other professional dentists in the area that don't come with the extra drama They tout that it's a dentist with a view? No you can't even see past the trees. Unfortunately she is still keeping dr Conway photos up to make people think nothing has changed. I am posting a review for this place a couple years late so it is possible things have changes since my visit. I do think it is still worth while to write this review, because my experience here was so horrendous that I still think about it 5 years later...in fact the best use of my insomnia right now is to share my experience here: I came to this place after getting my first job with benefits and had a few cavities and needed a root canal for a tooth that had been damaged in an accident. It was my first time going to the dentist on my own, and I didn't know anything about insurance and what questions to ask etc...so I told the office manager just that....that I didn't know anything about insurance and to just tell me how much I had to pay. I was told my insurance would cover most of the cost of what I needed done and paid my portion (a couple hundred dollars) up front before my appointment. Over the course of a couple months I got the cavities filled and half of a root canal. I was walking out of an appointment and went to schedule the other half of my root canal when the receptionist told me that I owed them $2000 and had to pay that first...I was completely astonished and asked "why?" when my insurance was covering it. Long story short I had exceeded the annual maximum my insurance would pay. It was November and had I waited 2 months it would have been covered...I asked the receptionist why I hadn't been told and that I would have waited the 2 months and her verbatim response was "Well you really needed the work done". So basically they decided for me that I could afford to pay them $2000 rather than wait 2 months for dental work. Well later I found out I should have received a statement or some sort of documentation covering what they were charging for what I was getting done, but I was young and naiveté and didn't ask the right questions up front....And paid for it. I was making barely over minimum wage and there was no way I could afford that, so I ended up with half a root canal, garnished wages and a major fear of all dental facilities. I lived with a half done root canal for a couple years because I was afraid of going somewhere and getting another big surprise bill...I have since had MUCH better experiences with other dentists. I still cringe when I think back to this place and I just worn anyone thinking of coming here that they will take advantage of you so know your stuff! And get everything in writing...bring a witness etc!! In fact I would just avoid the hassle all together and go to another dentist. read more

Kenmore Dental makes the trip to the dentist's office almost enjoyable! Sandy and the front desk are a joy. To the entire staff, patients are more than just a set of teeth and an insurance card. The entire staff remembers that we are people, first and foremost. They remember who I am, and even ask about my family. There is a feeling that they genuinely care about each and every person who walks in the door. As for the dentistry. Dr. Robinson was the best dentist I have ever had. He took care to fully explain everything, and never wanted to overwork my teeth (no unnecessary procedures here). I'm happy to say that Dr. Conway is taking up this mantle, and is carrying on in grand tradition. While I may not want to visit the dentist more than necessary, with Kenmore Dental, I actually like going to see my dentist. read more
