David has been my families agent forEVER dating back to my grandparents. To be honest I didn't have a need to speak with him very often due to my great driving record unless I was adding a new vehicle. That changed when I was rear ended a couple of years ago. I called David immediately and the first thing he did was ask me if my son and I were ok. He then sprung into action. My car was totaled and the State Farm center I called for my claim gave me a bit of a run around. David coordinated phone calls, spoke on my behalf and really made the entire process smoother from the moment he got involved until it was all finished. David has been my agent for 7+ years now? (I lost count) and has consistently been very reliable, quick, and easy to talk to. I have gone through lots of lifestyle changes (moving states/cities, getting married, etc) and he has always advised me for the best possible solutions. Communication can be through phone, email, and/or text. When I have a question, he answers quickly. Gaining my trust is usually difficult. This is because I feel I cannot trust companies/reps - they might be in it for their own self interest.. so I usually do a lot of research/talk to multiple people to get the best "deal" in order to compare what is best for my wallet ;). David he has always been straight forward and the plans I have with StateFarm have been consistently the best/service from what I have seen compared to others. He has proven that he cares about his customers and always keeps me updated with any changes/updates or discounts that are available. The only downside so far is that earlier this year my husband got a moving violation and it raised our insurance - but this is a StateFarm policy and out of David's control. read more

Look somewhere else! I was his client for many years. During the times that I needed his services, he was never there. In fact, other representatives helped me through the phone or email. My insurance cost constantly changed throughout my time with him. At first, it went up $15 every other month. I tried to get a hold of him numerous times. When he finally responded, he informed me that the price change was due to changes he made to my policy without informing me or my consent. It got to the point were I was receiving mail from State Farm every month with policy change charges. I thought of getting a 6 month plan instead of the month to month and talked to him about it. He discouraged me from doing that by saying it was not worth it because it was more expensive. The problem kept getting worse as time passed by. Over the course of a year my insurance went up $200.00. I have a clean drivers record. I sincerely do not understand why I was paying too much. After contacting him to complain one last time, he replied with a "That is the way life is...prices never stay the same," statement. It was at that moment when I decided to end my ties with him for good. State Farm itself is an excellent insurance. The problem I had was with the agent. He is not dedicated to helping customers. He is not reliable and when it comes to insurance, you need your agent to be there for you when you need him. I extremely recommend you to look somewhere else with another agent. read more

My family has been with David for over 25 years, insuring our cars and houses. I have used him since I got my license 5 years ago. I just filed my first claim after a truck forced me into a construction wall. They considered it a single car collision and raised my insurance more than $500 a year. David Pena was extremely helpful to me, as Trustee of my best friend's Trust, in dealing with settling her various insurance issues. He was always easy to contact, whether by phone or in responding to E-mail. Due to legal issues pertaining to my Trusteeship, my friends house could not be sold immediately, he encouraged me to get a 'vacancy endorsement' on the homeowners policy, to cover vandalism. When the house was finally deeded over to beneficiaries, David gave them assistance in finding an agent who could write them a new policy through California Fair Plan, since the house was now considered in a "wooded, high risk area" (a result of all the recent fires in California).
