WARNING: This man states you have cavities when you don't. I've always been a thorough brusher and flosser, but my trips for cleanings haven't always been... regular. I made an appointment with David Potts, referred to me by my mother, to get back on track. I was told I had MULTIPLE cavities, and he was going to take care of them in two visits. Even though I was reluctant, I (regrettably) went ahead with the first round. Fast forward to my mother needing emergency dental care. She was unable to see David Potts because he was "unavailable." Luckily she was able to see a dentist down Milwaukee who took care of the emergency. He also took care of a simple stain that caused some tooth sensitivity. David Potts was going to treat it as a cavity during her next scheduled appointment. Interesting... I also decided to no longer see David Potts. Guess what!? The dentist down Milwaukee told me I didn't have any cavities! If I had no cavities, why did I have a second appointment with David Potts? Perhaps he would do anything to make a buck? I can only assume. David Potts doesn't deserve a title, so I didn't use one for him. He should have stuck to community theatre, but I'm sure he's not very good at that either. I went in for a Free consultation. I repeat free, and was told because I asked multiple times FREE. So I went in to talk about sedation for cavities, my original dentist who's amazing but doesn't do sedation said I have 3. It would cost X amount to fix. So I went into Dr. Potts office and was only there for 30 minutes max. I talked to the financial lady in the front probably 20 of those minutes there, about what I wanted and how they would go about it. Then 3 of those minutes they took me back and opened my mouth but honestly just looked at my x-rays from my other dentist which was sent over. The other 7 minutes was waiting for them to get me into a room or me filling out paper work. Now the last 5 minutes of this ordeal was the financial lady talking to me about what he found. He apparently found 8 cavities, and it would cost upwards of 3700 dollars to fix. That's ridiculous! After a few weeks I get a bill for 107$ for my "FREE CONSULTATION". It clearly shows in other reviews that this guy is lying off his ass. I'll never go to this place again. And im fighting this bill. This company just wants money and will lie through their teeth about yours to get it. read more

After reading so many good reviews throughout the internet I had high expectations for getting all the work done I needed in an anxiety-free way. Sadly I ended up not feeling comfortable enough to go through with the procedures recommended or working with this practice at all. Dr. Potts was the 3rd opinion I went for and several red flags turned me away. Dr. Potts' assistant called me days after two preliminary visits (exam, x-rays, etc) with an outline which included several procedures never discussed in the total 2.5 hours I'd spent discussing the plan with the doctor - total bill being around $15,000. Wow. This was about $10,000 more than I'd been quoted by anyone else. When I received the plan in writing, which took a week after that call, several of the tooth numbers were incorrect! This does not put me at ease when I am planning on being sedated for everything..... Nobody responded to my questions for 3 whole weeks (despite emails/phone calls) regarding the tooth numbers. I had to call the office 6 times to get my x-rays, all the while, I am in agony from desperate need of a root canal. ONE root canal - Dr. Potts recommended three - which four other dentists cannot figure out. To put the icing on the cake, they filed the insurance incorrectly and never sent me a bill, so unknowingly, it was headed to collections. Nice. I was scheduled to see Dr. Potts at 4PM on a Monday. I was called at 9:00AM to be told I could only have my appointment at 11. Okay, okay, I can be flexible. I arrived at 10:30 to fill out paperwork, and stood quietly in the waiting room. The front desk secretaries are nothing to write home about, very impersonal and frankly, quite rude. I was called out in front of everyone for not taking a seat---did you bother to notice there are no seats open? Around 12:15 (almost TWO hours after I had arrived) five others had already been called in before me. I was getting a little annoyed, and was about to reschedule when--they called my name! I followed the dental assistant to the back and was told "Sorry, that's the FIRST and LAST time you'll have to wait that long." Phew--thank goodness! I was sat in the chair and told I would be seen momentarily. Another dental assistant appeared and profusely apologized--the front desk had absentmindedly forgotten to give me the rest of the paperwork. I filled it out, and again, waited. Fifteen minutes again passed, and yet ANOTHER dental assistant came in and asked if I would like a magazine. Now, after being there for two and a half hours, I would not like a magazine, I would like to be seen by the doctor. I asked her how much longer it would be, and explained my wait time I had already sustained. She walked to the next room over (not really rooms, just dividers) and I heard her ask the doctor how much longer it would be. "I have to finish this patient before anyone, so about 45 more minutes" The nurse promptly walked over to me, thinking that I hadn't heard the conversation(I'm not deaf!) and told me "He's going to be about 25 minutes." If you're going to lie to my face, make sure I don't know the truth. I walked to the front,and asked for my information back. She asked me if I would like to reschedule, and I again, asked her for my insurance cards back. If I visit an office, I expect to be treated with fairness and respect, something Dr. Potts' office knows nothing about. I would expect the office to be organized, and through, not losing papers or forgetting to have me fill them out. I would not recommend this dentists' office, unless you have a whole day to spend on staring at your watch. read more

I've had 5 appointments with Dr. Potts and/or his staff since first going in February of this year, after 9 years without seeing the dentist. My overall experience with the dentist, his office and his work have been 5-star. They've been very good about getting me in right away when I had a problem, they were able to offer me a payment plan for my work since it was into the thousands of dollars (fillings, a crown, a back upper molar extraction *shudder* etc). I feel like every time I've been there from the initial consult to the final appt that Dr. Potts was very thorough. And now that it is finally all over with, I'm so happy! I had no pain during any of the procedures I had to have done, I was never made to feel like the jerk that I am for not going to the dentist forever. Sedation dentistry is awesome. I wouldn't even describe myself as phobic, I just HATE dental work. Sedation is $300-400 depending on where you go and it is SO worth it. If I'd known how easy it could be to get through dentist appointments with sedation, I'd never have let almost a decade go by without regularly seeing the dentist - I'm lucky I had good parents who got me to my 20s with perfect teeth or it could have been a lot worse!! I'd recommend Dr. Potts and being sedated for dentistry (and in general, ha ha) to anyone. read more

I am a dentiphobe. I really hate the dentist. I was a bad girl once and didn't go to the dentist for 5 years. Someone I knew told me about Dr Potts, who caters to chicken shits like me. For long and complicated (ie painful) procedures, he will sedate you. I don't know what it is they give you, but it's good. The staff is nice and understanding. Dr. Potts is very nice, quiet and polite. I have been going to him for over six years now and I am happy to report that my teeth have never been better. I still had to take one star off because I still hate the dentist - but he has at least made going to the dentist bearable. read more

Dr. Potts is very nice. The office is as is all of the staff. The issue is that I was told that my insurance should be just fine and cover things and that they would check. They even showcased a very specific break down of what my insurance would cover and what it wouldn't only to find that it is not covering them/me at all. Certainly, my fault as well, but given their assurance and specifics I'm now out hundreds of dollars. I also feel that they might overdo the amount of issues that need to be taken care of. I went hear because the reviews looked good-not having seen a dentist for 8 yrs.Appt was at 9 am they took an xray and suggested more work than what I asked for.Said I would have to pay before doing any work-ok how much I have insurance.After sitting in the chair for over an hour,i got up and left.I felt very pressured and rushed by the assistant not potts.Would never go back. read more

I have been meaning to write this review but kept forgetting to do so. I cannot say enough about Dr. Potts and his entire staff. I really hated going to the dentist based on childhood dental visits. I need quite a bit of work and was very apprehensive but I finally put on "my big girl pants" and what a difference that visit made to my entire life! Dr. Potts had his work cut out for him and he certainly rose to the occasion. Now I actually (almost) look forward to going to my quarterly cleanings! I feel better, look better, and constantly wonder why I waited so long! All dental work seem to be expensive but you really get what you pay for! I did not feel any pain and would totally recommend Dr. Potts to all of my friends, family and co-workers. I hate to think what could have happened to my teeth if I hadn't gone to Dr. Potts. He also has a knack for hiring the BEST people for his office. I was consistently treated with respect and dignity. So, so happy I am his patient!! Thank you Dr. Potts!! read more
