Dr Demars told me a service was free when I first met her last Dec. After our visit she sent me a bill for $40 a month later. I asked her after the appointment are you sure it's free?.. and she said yes no worries. Now I've received a second bill for the same amount plus interest, are you kidding. When you tell someone twice, it's free, don't change your mind on it a month later. At that point maybe you should have kept your mouth shut, and not say free when you don't mean it!! read more

"We will work on your smile until you get the results you want." - Dr Demars. Here is my experience after payment was exchanged: Pros: -Aesthetic- Nice looking office in a nice area -Hygienist- There was one hygienist that did a thorough cleaning but she left Cons: -Service- It took 3 years of Invisalign instead of the 1-1.5 years they had told me. I understand it could take longer but there was no acknowledgment at any of the appointments. They kept their head down about the fact that I was told 1-1.5 years. The support was minimal and they made me feel like a burden when I came into the office. It was like "pulling teeth" when I tried to ask them anything about my dental health. -Results- The results of the Invisalign were my smile not being very visible due to the teeth being pulled, teeth were slanted to the side, and my front two teeth were different sizes. Dr Demars had told me they would sand the teeth down at the end of the treatment to make sure they're similar sizes. At the end of treatment, they had not brought this up and I had to ask to get the teeth sanded down to make them look even, which was still not the case. -Value- After 3 years of Invisalign, the bottom retainer had holes in it. They asked me to pay $300 for a new, thicker retainer because the one they gave me, they decided to go cheap on. -Quality- When I received my "retainer" it was very thin and low quality. This was done with the Dr knowing in the beginning that I'm a night grinder and stating she will help make sure to address that by the end of the Invisalign treatment. Which was never addressed. -Malpractice- Dr Demars pulled 4 regular teeth which made my smile disappear behind my lips. This resulted in an exposed nerve in one of the sockets with the drs fix being a gauze with a pain relieving liquid. -Support- When I asked questions they would give attitude and whisper behind my seat. The Dr was always in a rush and was very impersonal and clearly did not care about the results after receipt of payment. -Customer Service- When they were setting up a new appointment I had a few conflicts with work so when I asked "can we try another time?" She let out a loud *sigh* of annoyance before looking at the calendar and another hygienist chiming in with "let's try April". I felt completely unsupported and not educated on my dental health, very unwelcome, felt like my asking questions was a burden to them, was not happy with the results, and honestly jipped because my friend had received so much more support, a fun goodie bag and a stronger set of retainers from her dentist that she could actually talk to. read more

Dr Demars, Michelle, and the entire office staff are amazing! We have been patients here for over 10 years and they always make us feel like visiting family! Most recently Michelle was an incredible resource to us as we maneuvered through some oral surgery needs for our daughter. Dr Demars is very nice but impossible to get appointment. You will need to wait months. Been going to her office for many years and I made honest mistake by missing an appointment. I thought it was Saturday not on Thursday as I work. Can't imagine why I would have made a Thursday appointment six months in advance knowing I work 40 minutes away from dentist. I apologized profusely and rebooked first available appointment end of October and planned on taking day off as next available Saturday was in April. Person on phone made me feel like I committed a crime. They are rarely friendly at the desk. She did tell me she would try and waive no show fee. Today I received invoice for no show fee. I will find a dentist that can accommodate people that work. Office is modern and nice but they money gouge and if $35 is more important than my business, have at it. read more

Every time I go into Long Grove Dental Studio I am happy to be there!! The staff at the front works so hard but is always so friendly, welcoming and wonderful! The dental hygienists are all very sweet and professional and Dr Demars is a joy. She is a great dentist but more importantly a wonderful person. Everyone in my family loves going there and we are lucky to be part of this amazing gathering of truly kind people. And they put up with my goofy sense of humor which is a bonus. The most unprofessional office I ever visit to...not clean the stuff especially the billing manager is so rude over charge you never let you talk to the doctor she make her very bad business....I have been established patient there for more then 5 years they charge me for consultation $250 plus she made me temporary crown that last for 5 days for $275 Then when I needed to come back for permanent crown visit... they ask me to pay them on the phone deposit for $250 I'm sorry but this is a rip off right there! In my opinion - Patients Beware! Training is needed regarding customer service. It would seem they do not want you if you do not have insurance. I have been on COBRA for the past year. Due to cancer treatments, I have had multiple dental issues that I have never experienced before. My provider switched from ADP Run to ADP Workforce. This caused all COBRA subscribers to not be recognized in the system and my dental claim was denied. I explained to Long Grove Dental that I still had COBRA benefits for two more months. After multiple phone calls to my provider, the end result was that they were still working on it. Long Grove Dental did not, in my opinion, show any interest in working with me through this issue. They said it would be best to cancel my appointment until the issue was resolved. Well, this does not sit well with me. They should know that I'm good for it. Earlier in the year - Well, it's a long story. So to make a long story short, my dental provider denied a claim for approximately $500. I paid it. In full. My previous visit this past July was around $100. And they told me to cancel my next appointment. I think I've showed good faith so far and they should have worked with me. Now, the issue has been resolved and Long Grove Dental sent me the bill instead of verifying coverage once more before they sent it. Will not be going back. Oh, and by the way, I have never had dental insurance for my son. He needed braces several years ago. We paid cash. read more

Wow! I experience a lot of anxiety at even the thought of going to the dentist. After waiting longer than I care to admit for a dental exam, I worked up the nerve to call and schedule an appointment. They went ABOVE and BEYOND to not only make me feel welcome, but also took the time to discuss my anxiousness with me to understand what my reservations were so they could put them all to ease...and they did! I gave LGDS. a 1 star rating because zero stars is not an option. After a billing discrepancy that my dental insurance rejected, I repeatedly attempted to resolve the matter with the office staff and Dr. DeMars. Failing to reach a solution to the problem with them, I opened a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in April, 2019. The Billing Manager provided awful customer service with no respect for customers which in turn created lack of trust in their billing department procedures. When I questioned charges she was unnecessarily rude, gave misinformation & kept talking over me. Unfortunately Dr. Demars was not aware of her behavior until after the fact. As far as our office experience, Dr. Demars and her staff were great. Dr. Demars was very helpful when discussing concerns of ours about procedures we questioned and our negative experience with her Billing Manager. I have been with Long Grove dental for at least 4-5 years. They have a tendency to propose unnecessary treatment, which I have managed by pushing back if The tooth does not bother me. They suggested 4 fillings at my check up this year when I had no issues whatsoever. For some reason, I did not push back like I did before, maybe I thought it has been hard on them since the start of COVID. Now, I really wish I did! The dentist did 4 fillings in about 30 minutes, and 1 of them caused biting pain and sensitivity, which didn't exist before. I had gone back 4-5 times to adjust and redo the filling, and nothing helped. Now their suggestion is to either sedate my nerve or do a crown. I got a 2nd opinion that a crown is absolutely not necessary since there was nothing wrong with the tooth before the new filling. I need to figure out what to do to fix the biting pain and sensitivity. I might have to pay out of my own pocket to get the filling redo by another dentist as insurance won't cover the same tooth within 2 years. I really wish I had pushed back on their unnecessary treatment and wanted to let everyone know to get a 2nd opinion if you have any doubts about their proposal. read more

I seriously hate going to the dentist... more than anything. The sounds of scraping and click on teeth (ick). But this team has a way of calming my frantic self. I've unfortunately had to get some work done (a cavity AND a root canal.. two teeth worked on the same day). They hooked me up to Netflix (they have mini tvs over every chair), put a pair of noise cancellation headphones on me, and made a horrible experience a good one (well as good as one can have when having a root canal!). They are funny, they are nice, and most important - they don't 'shame' you on the condition of your teeth. They just fix and encourage. Definitely recommend this team if you are an anxious/nervous patient! After the root canal and cavity, I'm now a regular there (if extreme dental procedures don't scare me off, you will be FINE) and actually maintaining my teeth like I should be. Clean office, friendly doctor, friendly staff, and netflix. Seriously. They're awesome. read more

I had been looking for a dentist in the area - drive by this one every day and decided to give it a shot. So glad I did. It had been over 2 years since I went to the dentist and I needed a lot of work. They were awesome. My hygienist, Nicole, was THE best. Funny, personable and did a great job. The entire staff is so friendly and I loved that they itemized the work I needed and how much it would cost me and what my insurance would pay before I made the decision to get the work done. I love this dental practice - first time I don't dread going to the dentist! Dr. Demars is professional, a perfectionist about her work, and fun to boot. I have had extensive reconstructive work done with excellent results. The office staff is also fantastic and all go out of their way to provide prompt, courteous service. I actually miss seeing them between cleanings. I give them the highest possible rating and recommend them to all. Update: About a year after this checkup I ended up having one cavity filled. I did share the original treatment plan from LG Dental Studio with my current dentist, and they agreed with my previous consultations that none of the other work suggested was necessary. In the end, I still feel like some unnecessary treatments were advised, and that the situation was not handled well, but given the update that I did end up having a cavity filled, I wanted to update my rating to make sure it was as fair and honest as it could be. ---- Original Review: The office was really nice, the staff was friendly and I got a really great cleaning. I was ready to give this place 5 stars until I met the dentist. She was very courteous but recommended that I needed 4 cavities filled. As someone who goes to the dentist every 6 months I thought it was really strange that it never came up before. So I got a copy of my intraoral images and x-rays and got two other opinions. Both dentists agreed that I didn't need any work. When I called back in to cancel the appointment for my fillings and possibly discuss what my second and third opinions said, the receptionist cut me off and just said 'okay I'll cancel the appointment.' and ended the call. Whether or not it was intended that way, it came off like it was no big deal and that it happened all the time. I was really surprised that they didn't even want to discuss the results or why she thought I needed the work done. I would not send any friends or family members here for fear that they, too, would be told they needed unnecessary treatments. read more

We are happy that we found this dental practice shortly after moving to Lake Zurich. Dr DeMars is great and we feel comfortable in her treatment plan. Dr DeMars also helped my wife with a problematic crown that other 2 other dentists didn't catch. We have never had any problems with the staff nor billing. If I could give Dr DeMars 10 stars I would! I recently had a ton of work done and everything was top notch. I am extremely fearful of dentists.. even the thought of going would give me anxiety. My teeth had gotten so bad I was starting to not want to go out to family/friend functions because I was embarrassed, but I have 2 young boys and the thought of them being embarrassed by me was too much so I decided I needed to find a dentist and get my teeth fixed. I tried a few other dentists throughout the years but they were condescending, or never truly understood my fear, but from the second I walked into Long Grove Dental Studios they treated me completely different. Office staff was super nice and explained everything they were doing. Dr DeMars went over everything she thought I needed done and never once made me feel like an idiot for letting my teeth get as bad as I did (even though I know it's my fault). She's friendly and spoke to me like a friend,bi felt totally comfortable there, a feeling I thought was impossible at a dentist office. I decided to get the major work done in 1 visit and I had their conscious sedation, which I admit I was iffy about, but it was awesome. My teeth look great, I have my confidence back, which I never thought I'd have again, I'm able to feel comfortable being my sons team mom for his baseball team! If you want to pay more than you need to and you want a dentist who tells you you need fillings filled on teeth that don't need fillings and crowns on teeth that don't need crowns, then this is the place for you. They are way expensive for basic dental cleanings and then you walk out with lots of suggested work that when you get a second opinion, doesn't end up being something you actually need. Love this dental office! Have been going here for 2 years and love the staff and Dr. Demars... They are all very personable and take the time to get to know the patients.
