Dr. Fine was recommended to me by family as being an honest dentist, who does very skilled work. I am right at the beginning of quite a bit of treatment and I can say so far say that the recommendation by my family members is every bit as true as they said, and some! I have been seeing Dr Fine for decades now and think he's the best dentist ever, but what inspired me to write this review is the experience of my husband Paul, who neglected his professional care for close to twenty years and is a brand-new Dr Fine patient. He can't say enough good things about Dr Fine. He's welcoming, professional, patient, knowledgeable, and reassuring. When Paul first came to Dr Fine's office, he was a nervous wreck. I wanted to update my review since it's been so many years of going to the office and been a positive experience .... and Dr. Fine saved my sons smile! again!! Dr. David Fine, Tara (Hygenist), Andrea and the entire office have taken care of us in a very caring and kind way. They always work with our insurance company. Of course the dental work itself has been wonderful as well. The specialist dentist (endodontist) and dental surgeon that the offices uses have been great as well. Now many of my family members friends and coworkers come to the office and everyones teeth are looking much better. A few months ago and on a Christmas Holiday Winter break during my Sons vacation and during Dr. Fine's vacation, we had a dental emergency. AVOID THIS EXTREMELY DISHONEST DENTAL OFFICE. I was quoted a price for my husband to come in and get X-rays and be given a Detailed Treatment Plan, as well as that they would find out what our dental insurance would cover. The office staff represented that they would see if the doctor could take with what our insurance would cover, or something close thereto, but It was apparent during my husband's visit that they never inform the doctor of this. Bait and switch! Andrea even said as I was setting up the appointment and explaining our financial situation, that "At the very least, even if you need to go to another dentist, you'll have the x-rays, a treatment plan for comparison sake, and know what your insurance will pay." Over the course of 9 weeks(!!!!) I left multiple unreturned voicemail messages following up to get the X-Rays and info, but I got no return calls, When Andrea did answer my call (I turned my caller I'd off), she would either say they would call me back by the end of the day, which she never did, or like today, put me on hold for 10 minutes ( I eventually hung up, called right back and of course got the voicemail in the middle of the business day.). At the end of the day I get a callback from Ashley, who I've never spoken to or heard of, who was ultimately just plain rude, interrupted me constantly, was condescending, and refused to honor but Andrea represented. So we paid the agreed upon fee at the visit, and got absolutely NOTHING in return, other than obfuscation, avoidance, and rudeness. read more

I'm a patient of Dr. Fine, so when I decided to get whitening I scheduled it to be done at his office. The process is over an hour but it seemed to go faster than that. Dr. Fine did all of the applications (gum protection and whitening solution). There were multiple applications of solution and all of them were done with care and great detail. Everything was explained during the process, I was never left alone, so I was monitored and vacuumed when necessary. It was all successful and the result is excellent. Included in this is a follow-up/touch-up visit at no additional charge. This whitening was done in late September and October 2022 for the follow-up. About five years ago I had this procedure at another dentist facility and the experience was very different and inferior. (they made one application, I wasn't monitored, an attendant that I'd never seen before did the process and wasn't even in medical clothing). I'm 100% satisfied with my visit to Dr. Fine. read more

I have been going to Dr. Fine for many years now. After having great experiences I had the rest of my family (wife, kids, elderly mom) switch to him. I've also recommended him to friends. Everyone loves him and his staff (Andrea is a ball of joy). Dr. Fine has never tried to upsell me and has always been clear and honest on costs. For example, when I asked about replacing a night guard 3 years ago, he told me that mine is still fine and that we could wait a few years since they aren't cheap to replace (many dentists would not have been so honest). Um No. Between 2010-2012, dr.David Fine in encino hired some middle aged Mexican man who didn't seem like he was trained at all to clean patients teeth. We were first time customers without dental insurance responding to his ad for exam and cleaning for under $100 ( not sure exact price) and he let this guy who's not a dental hygienist and admitted to having little to no experience cleaning but wants to go train for "dental cleaning" to clean ppl's teeth! He seemed very nervous and his hands were shaky when holding dental tools smh. Obviously he sucked at cleaning it was painful and we should've ran and reported but was naive at the time. It's never too late to review and warn ppl of dangerous practices if could save others. read more

My wife went here a while ago, and so I did by default, UNTIL I had a dental emergency and needed a root canal and a crown. I called around to other reputable dentists as recommended by friends, who all charged about a 1/3 to half for the same services. I asked why and was told, "Well, we ARE located in Encino." No kidding. After that I was done. To top it off, I have applied to be removed from their email list, sending emails back to them asking to remove me and clicking the unsubscribe button, but new emails ALWAYS show up. There are PLENTY of reputable dentists charging a LOT less and do just as good work or better. I see no reason for any reasonable minded person to come here. EDIT: I just noticed that canned response, which did NOTHING to address what happened to me and my wife. Is that what you want in a dentist?
