First I have extremly sensitive teeth and gums. There have been times in which a routine cleaning has brought me to tears in the chair from the pain. I've had extractions and root canals done in the past by other dentists and had complications, would be in pain afterwards for days, and one time I woke up from the sedation while the dentist was still operating. Because of all of these bad past experiences, I've neglected going to a dentist regularly and would only go in an emergenc, which usually meant extraction. I've used the same oral surgeon for the last 15 years, however this time I needed 4 teeth from the front of my mouth extracted. The last time I had one front tooth extracted, I was in pain for 4 days, had bone or tooth chips punshing thru my gums a week later and felt miserable overall for two weeks. Because of this problem last time I decided to look around for a new oral surgeon. I did a search right here on Yelp for oral surgeons and came across Dr. Barry Jason. I read the reviews posted and one of them, Jeff I think, just struck a tone with me that motivated me to call Dr.Jason. I called the office and left a message explaining my situation. Dr.J called me back pretty quickly and scheduled me to come in immediately. Needless to say I was scared and in pain. After some xrays and examination, he gave me the bad news. I needed 8 teeth extracted. Before I go any further I want to comment of the dr and staff. Dr. Jason is kind of laid back and mellow but professional. He makes you feel at ease as does his assistant. He is confidant and reassuring in his manner. The whole staff makes you feel like your family, they genuinely care about you. Dr.Jason explained what needed to be done, approximately how long it would take and assured me it would be painless. Not only was he going to do the extractions, he would then do the molds and replacement teeth. As I have only 8 of my original teeth, I would need upper and lower removable plates made. He did the extractions in two visits, 4 teeth each time. Those two procedures went flawlessly. I was sedated, felt nothing and when I woke up there was hardly any discomfort. I never took any pain medication for either afterwards. I was Not In Any Pain whatsoever afterwards. It was amazing. Eight weeks later I had my new "million dollar smile". It took me a few weeks to get use to them, but now they are great. I eat steaks and smile alot. Everyone who knows me says how great they look. I can not begin to express my gratitude and satisfaction with Dr.Jason and his staff. Everyone in his office made this a great experince for me. If you are like me, afraid to go to the dentist because of pain or embarasment or anixity then give Dr. Jason a call and see what he can do for you. You won't regret it. I went to another dentist and they said there is no way to repair the damage Dr Heidi did to my enamel other than painting a protective coating once a year or getting veneers. She also tried to get me to get a crazy expensive antibiotic treatment ( which my doctor advised me not to get , because regular antibiotics would work at $20 instead of $5k if I did have an infection, which I did not) Dentist was also going back and forth between myself and another patient during my cleaning.
