We really liked Dr. Ly and his office staff. We normally go to a general family dentist, but my 8 year old son who is terrified of needles needed some work done on cavities, so we got a referral to see Dr. Ly. My son was put at ease by the helpful, kind, and friendly staff. Dr. Ly was kind, knowledgeable, and didn't push unnecessary work. He was patient in explaining that while my son had cavities, they were not deep and he didn't even need fillings (yay!), and they were able to use nitrous to calm him without needing to use needles at all. I am now planning on taking my 3 year old there because of the great experience we had with my son. read more

Great dentist! They always get my 4 year old twins, and my 16 year old in at the same appointment, and have them thoroughly cleaned with X-rays all within an hour tops. (This includes the time spent picking out toys for the twins as a special treat for doing so well.) The wait area is very kid friendly, and the entire staff is awesome with kids, young and older. Dr. Ly and the whole team were awesome! My 7 year old who is on the autism spectrum, was extremely nervous about getting dental work done. Dr. Ly explained things to me privately and answered all of my questions, and then explained things to my son in a way that made sense and comforted him. Destiny's communication with me throughout the process of dealing with my insurance and scheduling was above and beyond. She was so super sweet and helped me work out an insurance issue, even working after hours for me. When we went for the procedure the office was clean, and I love that Ryan cracked a couple of cute jokes to make my son laugh and relax. He was extremely kind and helpful. I'm so happy to say my son's teeth are healthy now and he is not nearly as afraid of dentists as he used to be! He also loved the kid prizes that they have to. My daughter has been going to Dr Ly since took over the practice from her previous dentist. I think it's been like 5+yrs. We go every 6mo with out any issues. With her most recent check up Dr Ly said she had 2 cavities, which I thought odd because there has been no history and we go regularly. So I go a second opinion. The new dentist says that my daughters teeth are perfect with no cavities. And he was really looking because of diagnosis. Needless to say, we will not be going back to Dr. Ly. read more

My son is almost six years old had to have a bunch of dental work done. He had to be put to sleep for all of his treatment to be completed at once. The experience was easy. My little guy had no adverse reactions to being put to sleep and it's nice to have all the work done it once. He has no memory of anything. The staff and the doctor are the most amazing team in Escondido for Pediatric Dentistry. The office is clean friendly and inviting. Dr. Ly himself is always so wonderful with all of my children even when we come in with a little new baby he loves to hold him and see how he's growing. Since my last post, they have remodeled the whole building and looks very nice! Doctor Ly, Ryan, and Destiny are always great with the kids and make them feel comfortable. They let the kids choose what movie to watch, what flavor toothpaste to use and they get a toy at the end of their appts! read more

After 6 months and 3 dental offices, we finally found a dentist office who were able to get my son to open his mouth for brushing and examining. My son had a traumatizing experience in the past ( a different office in San Jose 7 months prior) so it was tough getting him in any office without him screaming or crying. I don't know what their trick was, but they did it! Kudos to the male dental assistant in the back! My son had such a great time in the waiting room, he didn't want to leave. I just can't believe that not only was he not crying, he was smiling all the way to the car with his prizes. My daughter went right after and they were quick yet thorough. I asked her how was it and she said that it was much easier than the other offices because she didn't have to swallow her spit. She usually gags because the other dental office staff always fail to suction correctly. Dr. Ly's office has actual toys in front which was very helpful in keeping the kids occupied. The office is clean and the vibe is laid back. The doctor and assistants are calm and very professional. I never felt pressured! I'm so thankful that my friend referred us to Dr. Ly. read more

Dr. Ly's practice is very kid-centric. It's a wide open space with welcoming videos playing in the lobby and a large aquarium and toys for kids to distract themselves with. Both he and his staff are very professional, gentle and kindly with the children. My daughter hasn't always been the best dental patient, but the staff has done their best to make her feel welcome and calm, and now she's able to visit the dentist with nary a tear or hesitation. read more
