Absolutely unacceptable experience -- stay away! I'm shocked and deeply disappointed with how this dental office handled our situation. Without any notice, they unilaterally inactivated my daughter's account and canceled all her upcoming appointments. No explanation, no communication -- just gone. When I called to understand what happened, the manager told me she was new and had no idea why this occurred. Her only solution? I could book a new appointment -- in two months! As if that somehow makes up for the inconvenience and complete disregard for my daughter's dental care. This level of disorganization and lack of accountability is beyond unprofessional. If you're a parent looking for reliable care, I strongly suggest you look elsewhere. A dental clinic that can't even keep track of its patients is not a place you want to entrust with your child's health. read more

We've been coming here for a few years and my children literally cannot wait to come to their dentist appointment. It's wild. In the 6 months between appointments, they ask me several times 'when can we go to the dentist?' and once they know an appointment is coming up, they are as excited as if we were going to the zoo. This is crazy to me, as someone who grew up dreading going to the dentist, but it's amazing. Dr. Nikki and her staff have created a positive, calm and honestly enjoyable environment that makes both myself and my kids feel good. Additionally, my kids have rarely, if ever, had a cavity or spot to watch which makes me confident that this is not an office that over-diagnosis (something many offices do it seems like). My daughter's dental office called to inform us that we had won a draw and needed to come down to collect gift cards and take photos. After driving 30 minutes to the clinic, the staff seemed surprised to see us. There were no photos, and we overheard them saying, "Give them two $5 gift cards," in an extremely dismissive manner. It felt disrespectful and showed no regard for our time or effort. This experience was disappointing and unprofessional. We decided not to return to this clinic, told them to donate the gift cards to charity, and left. read more

It's (already) time for the little one to start paying attention to his dental care, so I turned to Yelp to find some local pediatric dentists. As per usual, Yelp came through and I am very happy with our new dentist, Dr. Lin. I'll admit I was a little nervous, as we've all been holed up due to the pandemic. However, everyone in the office (including other limited number of patients) was masked, and it felt like a safe/clean environment. Dr. Lin walked us through exactly what she was going to do, what to potentially expect (for example, my son crying when she was looking at his teeth) and that it was a completely normal reaction at this age. She gave us the option to stop, while he was crying, in case he was too overwhelmed to continue. We took a quick break and she was able to finish up with the exam. She also provided some great tips on how best to brush and floss his teeth, as well as personal experiences that worked well with her own daughter. She gave us the opportunity to ask any questions, which included how to address teething pain, and what types of food/drinks that are best to avoid and/or only have once in awhile. Overall, I was very impressed (and relieved) at how well the first appointment went. We'll be working diligently on getting his daily dental routine set up, as we want to help our little man have healthy teeth and gums. A few things to note: * The front office staff is very friendly. When making my appt, they walked me through prices and what we should expect. * The parking is limited but there are two separate lots available in front of the office building. * There was a tv up on the wall to keep my little guy entertained and our dental assistant even gave us a few video options to choose from. read more

After seeing all the positive reviews and wanting to find a local office here in Escondido, I decided to schedule my 19-month-old son's very first dental appointment at Escondido Children's Dental. Scheduling was a breeze and they sent me reminder tests and calls as well as forms I was able to fill out easily from my phone. When we arrived, we found the office tucked away surrounding a peaceful courtyard. The front desk staff was friendly and welcoming and the office was clean. Everyone treated my son with care and kindness from the moment we walked in. Dr. Lin took great care to explain everything she was doing and gave us lots of great tips for brushing at home. She welcomed questions and the appointment did not feel rushed at all. Because of her gentleness, my son's crying was very minimal considering his young age. She gave us lots of praise and encouragement for the dental routine we already had going with our son and also reassured us that a stain on our son's teeth was just an iron stain and not a cavity. My son left with nice clean teeth, a fluoride treatment, a new toothbrush and toothpaste and a balloon. We will definitely continue his dental care at Escondido Children's Dental and look forward to another appointment in 6 months. read more

We were referred by our family dentist. Our youngest (5 years old) had some pretty severe decay that required a lot of repair work done under anesthesia. Dr. Lin was amazing! Took the time to answer all our questions. She called twice on surgery day to follow up and see how our little guy was recovering. We will be switching him to be a permanent patient of hers! The office staff is so kind! Denise helped us with both our dental and medical portion of insurance. LOVED our first visit to see Dr. Shu, she was so great and made my son very comfortable during the exam. She used words like "sugar bugs" "handsome teeth" and even "bat cave!" The office staff and dental assistance were just as great! Dr. Shu was very knowledgeable & thorough. The office is cute and has a luau themed décor, not tacky with tiki torches on every corner but actually tasteful. I loved the map of Hawaii in the office :) Much better dental experience than other offices. If you have ever walked into a Starbucks and they know you by name, or you have witnessed them knowing a customer by name and thought of how warm and friendly they were, that's how I felt at this Dr.'s office. After a rough experience with my five year old with fillings, we were recommended to Dr. Bond's office. We quickly made an appointment and were set up with Dr. Lorraine Lin. I CANNOT say enough good about her and her assistants!! Seriously so accommodating and helpful. My son was a nervous wreck after his initial experience elsewhere and just today (went in for MORE fillings...sigh) he went skipping on in with no fear or apprehensions. Aside from the comfort my son feels while there, the dental work is also top notch. Having worked as a dental assistant myself, I sit there and watch everything they're doing and I'm very happy with their skills and thoroughness in getting the job done. We used nitrous oxide (laughing gas) the first time, to help ease nerves, and with that and a movie of his choice on the ceiling, we were good to go. Dr. Lin explains each step in a way that a child understands and isn't frightened. So impressed with her manner. My 4 year old daughter used to hate going to our previous dentist and always had tantrums there..until we finally found Dr Shu..I was so surprised my daughter didn't even cry and was very comfortable..she needed a root canal and a crown on one of her molars and also had more cavities on other teeth..Dr Shu did her dental work at Rady children's hospital and we decided to do all the cavities under general anaesthesia so it's quick and easy..We had to reschedule twice but Dr Shu was very understanding and caring. All the dental work was perfectly done, Dr Shu is so nice and checked on Kenzy that night after the procedure to follow up by phone too. Dr Shu goes above and beyond being an awesome dentist. Very nice place Dr Lin took care of my nervous 4 year old very well. She recommended what work needed to be done and what was gonna cost me less. She was friendly and knowledgeable and I definitely rather keep my son here for future appointments. She did a procedure at children's hospital my son had to be sedated. And she personally would call everyday for a week to make sure I was ready or had any questions .. During the procedure she would make sure she addressed any concerns and made sure i understand what was being done showing me pictures and xrays and after we got home she called to see how my son was feeling at 8pm . My daughter has been coming here since she was a year old. She is now 8. She looks forward to her visits with Dr. Shu and the staff here and absolutely LOVES the dentist. Everyone here does what they can to create a positive environment and experience for all of their guests. We even saw Dr. Shu out of the office while shopping and she was sweet to my daughter and called her by name! The one time that my daughter had a hard time she was getting teeth pulled for some orthodontia work. Dr. Shu and staff were patient with her and made sure that she had the pain medication she needed in order to get work done. My daughter however had an anxiety attack thinking about getting teeth pulled (had nothing to do with the dentist) so we ended up rescheduling. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place. They were referred to me years ago and I am so glad that I decided to bring my daughter here. We will definitely be coming here until they tell me my kid is too old. :) read more
