The oldest Geleteria in Sorrento, they have a lot of uniquely Italian flavors like zabaglione (egg custard,) walnut, pistachio, hazelnut, stracciatella (milk based with chocolate shavings,j bacio (chocolate & hazelnut) and nocciola, a creamy, nutty flavor. And of course fruit flavored gelatos like strawberry, mango and lemon, the citrus that Sorrento is known for and is everywhere. The gelato was ok, nothing special. Don't ask for samples from the grandmother. She gave me the most disgusted look and said you can only sample one even though you didn't like the flavor, and force you to buy something. This gelateria is a famous one in Sorrento. They have a large selection of flavors to try from and they do allow you to taste several, although sometimes you can tell the attendants start getting a bit annoyed if you ask to taste more than 2 or 3 flavors. The service wasn't terrible by any means, but the tension was palpable at times. We had the zabaione (egg nog) gelato a few times along with pistachio once and on our last try we had the lemon gelato since lemon is the thing to have in this region. The zabaione was definitely the best, but the flavors were inconsistent. On our first try we absolutely loved it, but it didn't taste as good the second time around. The pistachio gelato was also good but the lemon gelato didn't really do it for me. Granted, I'm not into fruit gelato or ice cream in general but especially not lemon, so perhaps I'm biased in that sense. read more

Great gelato spot around the corner from our hotel! The service was friendly and fast, and they had a wide selection of flavors. The flavors were strong, creamy, yet the texture was a little off for gelato. It was more of a melted consistency than your typical gelato. Gelato was mediocre and service was not good at all. The older lady served us and seemed very annoyed about us wanting more than once taste of the gelato. How are they offering a 3 scoop cone and could only have one sample? I feel like I've had better gelato elsewhere, but it's the best in town. Lots of flavors to choose from, and both their creamy and sorbet options are good. Very yummy esp when walking around in the heat on a summer day. I'd recommend the Fiore de latte, the lemon sorbet, and the Oreo flavors. read more

I was very impressed! In the past three weeks I have been to ten gelato places in Sorrento, but this is the first one for which I felt compelled to write a review. I got a small cone for 2.5€, and as you can see, the small was a fairly good amount. Some places will only allow you to get one flavor if you buy a small, but I was able to get two: pineapple and toasted almond. Both flavors tasted excellent. The gelato was actually packed into the cone as well, which was by far the absolute best-tasting out of all the cones I have tried during my time here in Sorrento. There was a wide flavor selection, especially of flavors that seemed more traditionally Italian, and unique, as opposed to only the same flavors that every other gelateria offers. The place looks super nice too; it's really a win on all fronts! read more

Some of the worst gelato I've had in all of Italy. I have a lot of data points from Venice, Milan, Verona, Bologna, Cinque Terre, Florence, Rome.... this was the worst gelato (if you can even call it that) I've had. The place certainly looked promising with cute white tables and chairs outside with purple table cloths. Tons of seating between the outdoor terrace and inside. When you walk in you're greeted with 20+ flavors of gelato, some that I've never seen in Italy like Ferrero Rocher and Toblerone. Two small scoops for 2,50 seemed a bit pricey to me but I just had to try those two flavors in addition to my staple nocciola. Boy was I disappointed. I could barely finish it and it left an awful taste in my mouth. None of the flavors tasted even remotely like what they were advertised as being (nocciola, ferror rocher, and toblerone) and the consistency was very strange, not the creamy gelato you come to Italy for. We were first introduced to Davide's ice creams by our Thompson's rep. A sort of 'getting to know you one scoop in a cone 1 euro' ice cream. The idea being you'd come back later for one of their superdooper big 7 euro ice creams. We did, amazing ice creams! We were presented with a menu full of ice creams and if any of those hundred didn't take your fancy, there were plenty more favours indoors ready so you can pick your own selection of scoops. The outside streetside dining area is so nice we went back for lunch a few days later. While a pizza, a sandwich and a bowl of chips can't compare with their ice creams, it was still very good. We first came here to grab some sandwiches after traveling all day. We knew it wouldn't be that great because this place seems more like a gelato place. I got a tomato and mozzarella panini and it was okay. Decent size. We were originally sitting outside but there was a guy smoking a cigar at one of the tables and the smell was overwhelming. The next day we came to try the gelato. It was okay. Not the best I had in Italy but we came here twice for it. They had a lot of flavors to choose from. They also had a lot of cool desserts that they make, and the biggest Meringues I've ever seen. read more

Worst gelato I've had in both America and Italy. And their one taste policy is a bad idea. How are you going to offer three different flavors in a cup of gelato and only allow one taste.
