I've been to this location a few times over the years, as a bridesmaid and this time I got to go as a bride. I booked my appointment for the middle of the day on a Friday - honestly if you're able to go during the week DO IT. there was almost no one else in the store but me and my group. My consultant Tania was absolutely LOVELY, I was able to find the perfect dress for myself, I never once felt rushed or like I was being pushed to buy something. I left feeling great about myself and my purchase. On the weekends the place is an absolute zoo and the consultants are maxed out, but for me it was the perfect experience. I loved feeling that the employees were as excited about me finding my dress as I was. read more

Really really disappointed. My little sis is getting married and in need of her wedding dress. She made an appointment at the beginning of September for November. She called the day before to confirm all the details because once before they had messed up her time when they called her to confirm. The time was always Saturday at 130. We get there and are rudely greeted and told she has no appointment but they can probably fit her in just need to wait. Then another lady comes over tells m sister that actually her appointment was at noon and she missed it. Who in the heck blames a person for the stores mistake and to Shames her. Not cool. I was ready to walk out but my sister was so excited. Eventually we get to finding dresses and get our consultant Scarlet. In the beginning Scarlet was lovely. The place was so busy we were falling over top of people. My sister liked 2 dresses. Scarlet then closed the door and proceeded to "enforce " my sister to buy today. Not cool!!! Next time maybe do it in a kind manner and don't tell a bride how to spend her money. I would never come back here. Terrible service and rude service. read more

I unlike the booking a spot for 2 hour time areas because there is a huge influx of people at specific times and it feels overwhelming (Say at 10, noon, 2, and 4) Our service was poor and I didn't feel like she either cared about my cousin or what was important to her. Very poor service! I made an appointment a week ahead to look for a mother of the groom dress. When I got there they said I didn't have a record of my appointment. A lady said she would help me anyway. I sort of felt like they were doing me a favor. I told her the dress I was thinking about. She pulled it and then showed me a couple of others I didn't like and then walked off. I was hoping that I would at least get a sense of the size I needed, maybe some advice and try out a few to get an idea of what might look ok, but I gave up and left at that point. The sales lady, who was friendly and polite, did say to come back in a month or so as they were getting more stock, but after my experience, I doubt I would go back, unless I was desperate. You get more help at the grocery store. read more

My cousin is getting married and asked me to be a bridesmaid! yay! Except.... she lives in Kentucky. The wedding is in Kentucky. And all the other bridesmaids are in Kentucky. I asked if they could consider getting dresses from David's Bridal because I know I can get the same things here. She picked fabric and colour and we were each left to pick out our own style. I went online to book an appointment to try all the choices on, but it said explicitly on the website that appointments are not required for bridesmaids dresses. So I headed into the store on a Tuesday evening with my best friend in tow. When I got there, they were packed. The nice lady at the front said I was welcome to come in, but the consultant was working with multiple groups. She pointed in the direction of the collection I was supposed to look at and said that the other lady would be over to help as soon as she could. She did come over eventually, but didn't help other than to take the dresses off the rack that I wanted to try on (which turned out to be the entire collection because I really had no idea what I was doing). Once at the change rooms, we got no help at all. My friend was left to help me struggle with the zippers. I had to call her over at one point to get me a different size. I definitely did not feel like a valued customer. I had mostly made my decision, but was waiting for the rest of the wedding party to respond to the pictures I had sent. The consultant said she would make a note of the dress I had chosen on my file and I would just need to call in the next day to place the offer. She didn't bother going over anything like delivery timelines, or alteration needs or anything. I called the next day as directed and found out that she marked NOTHING on my file. There was no info other than the fact that I had been there. I started to panic, but the amazing lady on the phone immediately put me at ease. She asked me to describe the dress and then gave me the style number of what she thought it was so i could confirm on the website. She saved the day. The dress came in ahead of schedule, which is nice. It looks fine. But the zipper sticks so badly that I absolutely cannot get dressed without somebody helping me. i have no interest in going back into this store, so I'm just going to deal with it. read more

It's unfortunate when technology isn't serving us very well. Trying to book an appointment was a challenge by phone and on the web, and so we never got to shop there for our bride. Our store greeter was pleasant, but over booked with potential customers. We may try back for bridesmaids as we can be indepent to figure out our needs. Walk-ins welcome so keep that in mind when you go. Not sure if it's worth the trip really. I'm glad they didn't have room for us today. I went to David's Bridal looking for a wedding dress. It was horrible. I had an appointment and when we showed they were so disorganized. We went to look at the showroom which was super disappointing. We finally had someone great us and literally sneezed right in front of us instead of walking away. Then I explained what I was I was looking for and they did not take the time to listen they showed me everything but what I wanted. I went to try on one dress then someone else showed up. They kept bouncing between staff. The change rooms are very tight and they do not have a pedestal which you can stand on to see the dress. I felt like I was shopping for a T-shirt instead of a wedding dress. Finally the manger showed up and she was excellent but as for her staff they need to go. I found the staff here to be really friendly, helpful and accommodating, even with how busy the store was. The lady helping us was super nice, and seemed genuinely interested in helping us brides find something we'd like. She also asked a lot of questions about our wedding style in general & what I liked to get a better idea of what to show me. Also, I appreciated that although we came in without an appointment, they were willing to squeeze us in when they had a little free time. The store is clean & well-maintained, with a big selection of dresses. I liked that they had dresses of a given style in a few different sizes, so I could mostly try on what I wanted. The dresses were relatively affordable and several were quite nice, though I could tell that some of them are of slightly lower quality than what I've seen elsewhere. While I haven't chosen a dress yet, I would consider buying mine from them. read more

Made an appointment to look for 2 prom dresses. Quinn was our representative and she was fantastic- very friendly and helpful. She offered great advice without being pushy. We found 2 beautiful dresses. I definitely appreciated the store set up and the precautions the store took with masks and distanced seating. suggestions for improvement: 1) This store really should be by appointment only. There were times where the large walk-in groups made it very crowded and noisy. 2) If you spend the money on a dress, a limited amount of alterations should be included ie: sewing in cups, up or down 1 size, shortening train... Overall- it went great, we left happy with 2 beautiful dresses. If you make an appointment at South Edmonton Common ask for Quinn, you will love her. read more

David's Bridal is great if you want to find a dress you like but don't want the option of buying it! I found a lovely designer dress and wanted to go ahead with the purchase. The salesperson ran into some difficulties when trying to run this through for me. She had to speak to her manager who verified that they are not able to order the dress but I am more than welcome to order it myself off the David's Bridal website. Huh?? -- davidsbridal.ca redirects to davidsbridal.com So I raced home to complete my transaction before my size ran out. Unfortunately, I was not able to purchase the dress for international shipping to Canada. There are no numbers on their website for assistance. The number posted forwards your call to an automated system for an entirely different entity. I called David's Bridal in Edmonton who waived all liability, stating DB Canada and DB USA are in no way affiliated so there is absolutely nothing they can do for me, despite the fact they've the dress in their store. They did, however, suggest I use an American friend or family member as an alternative. Well, my heart was already set on this dress so I called in a favor from an American friend. I ran into additional problems because their website does not permit a billing address outside the US either(??). I worked around that by contacting Visa to have them change my province to Alabama (I live in Alberta, Canada) so the payment isn't rejected. In addition, the receipt states the sale is 100% final despite this NOT being listed during the purchasing process. Dress still hasn't arrived but I've got my hopes up and look forward to wearing it. David's Bridal gets an F for stupidity and incompetence. read more

Here is the updated review where I have removed two stars. Here is why: after reading reviews online about David's Bridal (American stores), it seems quite common practice for your consultant to be VERY PUSHY in making you order one or two sizes too big. In my case, it would be 3 inches on each side too big; i.e. two sizes too big. I know I have bought my dress way ahead of time (14 months before the wedding). HOWEVER, it would be presumptuous of any David's Bridal consultant to consider a bride getting pregnant before her wedding, without being vocal about it, of course. I am under the impression that ordering two sizes too big is a common DB practice as they will make more money on alterations (costing $300 to $500, which is the cost of another dress). I did not take my alterations to David's Bridal -- not especially after hearing horror stories of DB stores in the US. Plus, if you were to bring your dress for alterations to David's Bridal, if you wanted to add a detachable train, the seamstresses at DB won't do it anyway. I don't think David's Bridal is the cheapest in Edmonton for alterations. They gave me the wrong quote for alterations at the time I purchased my dress. It did NOT cost me $60 for a mere side-hem. I needed to take in EVERYTHING from the sleeves to the sides. WORD OF CAUTION: Measure yourself before you go to your consult and be firm on ordering a dress that is true to your size -- even if you're in between sizes. Disregard the "It's easier to size down than to size-up." Not true. You can let out the seams slightly if it's a bit tight, as I'm told by a non-DB seamstress. It all makes sense if your dress isn't true to store-size (after alterations), it becomes tougher to sell and your dress loses its value even more. So, this is all about David's Bridal wanting to protect itself from customers selling their dresses after the wedding more than caring for the customers' interests. It's not flattering to be forced to order a tent for a wedding dress. :'( read more

Okay, I'm back to take a few stars off for David's. I've come to realize in subsequent visits that most of my love for this store was for that amazing consultant I had, and to my dismay, Taylor is no longer with David's. For me, this was a tragedy. She was so good throughout our entire appointment. When I booked to go back and see her, I was told she was no longer there and almost didn't go back in, even though one of my top two gowns was at this store. However, I did go back for the gown, and was less than impressed by the consultant I did have. I can't even remember her name. That says a lot. Tall, wearing a lackluster grey suit... Anyway, they didn't seem to have any of my choices left on file. It's like they vanished when Taylor did. I showed her the dress I wanted, and she asked if I needed any foundations. She pulled a bra in the right size and a "slip". I'm using that term very loosely, because it wasn't even the right slip for the gown I was trying. I had chosen a Vera Wang tulle ball gown. She brought me a shape enhancer for a tulip or mermaid style gown. Uh, yeah. That makes perfectly sense. The thing was insanely uncomfortable. I couldn't move in it, it had no stretch and the dress kept sliding down it because it was cheap slippery polyester. I took it off as soon as I could and was relieved to do so. i though by "slip" she would bring me a plain white slip. Oh well. I also mentioned that I was looking for a fascinator in black and a black sash to try. She brought me a number of black headbands and sashes, but the sashes were for my hair. It wasn't until I asked my mom to give me a sash to put on myself that she offered to tie it for me. I asked for something more plain, and she pulled a grosgrain out. Exactly what I was looking for. Perfect. I also had to define "fascinator". Feathers, netting, birdcage veil. She did eventually find one in black, and it was fairly close to what I was looking for. The fitting room I ended up in cut off another girls line of site from the big mirror. I hate that about this store. In a bridal salon, each room should have it's own pedestal and three way mirror, not just a place to stand on the floor in front of all the other change rooms, blocking all the other girls from the good views in the best mirrors. I started after this girl. It was her first appointment. I shouldn't be taking away from that. I get that this is a store aimed at offering pretty gowns to those on a tighter budget, but that shouldn't stop them from offering stellar service and making the most important clothing purchase someone will ever make feel like magic. I didn't get that feeling here. I liked going to the other salons, coming out from behind the big curtain and stepping up on to the pedestal in from of the huge mirror. I'm a typical bride, when it comes to dress shopping. I like being on display, not shoved into a bull pen. David's has some lovely (and cheap) gowns. I almost found "the one" here. There were just too many things not adding up for me. If Taylor reads this, I want her to know that I was really looking forward to working with her again, and I hope she's moved on to something really excellent, because her service was top notch. read more

Maybe it's to keep the price low, but they double book appointments, so two brides are fighting for one mirror, and your bridesmaid is left being the one to help you into the dress. I am so glad that I am almost all done with dealing with David's Bridal. My first experience (purchasing my wedding dress) not so bad but every other since then has been terrible. When i purchased my dress I was told that in order to pick it up I would have to present them with my receipt but this was not the case. All i had to do was say my name and I was handed over my dress which is well over $1000. I asked if i could try it on, considering my dress is a different color from the one I had tried on and I was just handed my dress in the plastic and was not offered any help to have it zipped or anything. Note that the store was not busy at the time as this was during the day and a couple of days before Christmas. My next visit was with the bridesmaids for their dresses. I booked their appt when i picked up my wedding dress and when I called to confirm, I was told that I didn't have an appt. I told them I had made an appt back in December and that a few of my bridesmaids had already taken the day off of work. They did end up booking us for the day i had originally booked but when we got there all 5 of my bridesmaids had to share a room and our consultant was double booked. The store was packed, and it was so difficult to get help as our consultant was busy with a bride. The only time we got helped by her was when we told her that we wanted to order the dresses and so she proceeded with taking their measurements. After all that was said and done, our consultant told me that the dresses would arrive within a month or so and could only be picked up by someone presenting ID. 3 dresses arrived weeks later and i was contacted and asked to pick them up with 2 weeks. I told the lady I would come grab them once all 5 where in store. I was contacted a week after the first call and offered free shipping on the 3 dresses (only because i hadn't picked them up yet). 2 weeks after that, my mom called and Davids Bridal confirmed having received the other two dresses. I called 4 days after my mom had (not knowing the dresses were already there or that she had spoken to Davids Bridal) and the lady told me they had just arrived the day prior. I went to go get the 2 remaining dresses the next day and guess what, i was able to grab both dresses without presenting any ID. I think its ridiculous that this store will hand over dresses worth so much money to people without any sort of confirmation that it is indeed theirs. Ultimately all this store seems to care about is making their sales and getting the dresses out of the store as soon as possible. Once your dresses are purchased it really doesn't matter who they go to, just as long as it not at their store. Obviously I will not be recommending this store to any bride I know and I hope many others will read this review. I must add that upon my last visit to this store (to pick up my steamed dress) that Lynn was extremely helpful. Thank you Lynn, wish I had dealt with you from the beginning. Ladies if you absolutely want to shop at Davids Bridal, I would highly recommend asking for Lynn, she is super friendly. Davids does have beautiful dresses and I really love mine. So my sister is getting married in November, destination wedding to the Bahamas! We purchased the dress back in March after a mediocre service. The other bridesmaid, myself and my sister who is the bride all had to share the same fitting room.. So now we come back 7 months later to do her alterations. 1) no lights are on, no music playing. You can hear the other consultants chatting loudly and ones vacuuming so me and my sister can't even hear eacchother discuss the wedding plans. 2) when the dress was purchased it was 1200$.... NO ONE told us that the alterations were going to be extra we assumed they were free because of the cost of the dress. Well we were wrong so i had to deal with an upset bride who is also my sister in her wedding dress who dropped a size so she can look amazing for the best day of her life! 3) the floors were sooooo dirty with hair and dust she didn't even want to walk in her dress they were so disgusting 4) they did her alterations in the change room area in the middle of The store with horrible lighting and the change rooms are the size of a porta potty. We had to ask for a pedestal so she could stand higher.. I had to move it myself to a full length mirror so the bride could see how great she looked You are a freaking well known bridal store in one of the best shopping cities in Canada. Your service, attitudes, cleanliness and miscommunication is not acceptable and you best believe every social networking site will hear about this as well as a lot of our closest friends! Ill NEVER go back! My Friend and I went to David's Bridal for a bridesmaid dress. Noone helped us search for styles and sizes, we did it ALL ourselves. A male employer got a change room for me and that was the last we saw of him until we were ready to purchase the dress. The same male employee commented on my weight and made me feel very uncomfortable and self conscious. After a less than impressive 1st visit to David's Bridal, I was dumb enough to go back. I am a bridesmaid and we could not find a sash to match the groomsmen's ties. We took the tie into David's and a sales lady assured us she had a PERFECT match but couldn't show us an example. We ordered it. 6 days before the wedding it hasn't arrived so I called to check on it-it was sitting there. Noone had called to advise it was in. It's also not even close to the correct color. Very dissatisfied with this store. We booked an appointment for 2 bridesmaids. Our stylist was overworked with 3 appointments. While she was a lovely lady, she wasn't able to give us any help or guidance. We had no idea where to pick out dresses, leave our stuff, or what the system was. We were able to pick a couple dresses we liked, but we had to try them all ourselves with no stylist to give direction until the very end when we decided on dresses. There was a lot of awkward waiting for our stylist to help us and in our 1.5 hour appointment the girls were only able to try on 2 dresses because of all the waiting. Finally, we picked out our dresses and went to pay for them. When the dresses were rung up we were told that they would take 18 weeks to get in. My wedding is in 16 weeks. They called the warehouse to override this. However, we ended up being told that the dresses we wanted would be unavailable in time for the wedding. There was no offer to rush the dresses. They suggested us looking for new dresses. The stylist didn't offer to help us find similar dresses, we were just left to look alone. We decided to leave and go look somewhere else. I will not be recommending this store to anyone I know. read more

I purchased a bridesmaid dress through David's Bridal this summer, and found the service to be OK, but not great. I was able to get an appointment to with the bride to purchase my dress fairly easily, and I liked that they had the dress in all sizes available to try on, which negates the process of measuring and ordering the dress based on measurements. The dress was an excellent price, and the order came in within a month. The women working there seemed confused when filling out alterations forms and using the tills, but the store had just opened when we went in. They also called the bride to come pick up my dress when it came in, when I had explicitly asked them to contact me. When the time for my fitting arrived I came down with a bad case of the flu and wasn't able to attend with the other girls in the bridal party. I called the next week to book an appointment and found that I could only get an appointment in four weeks' time. When I arrived for my alterations, they told me I could pick up my dress in a couple of weeks, which was only three days before the wedding. The first time I tried it on was the morning of the wedding, thank goodness it was hemmed properly. My biggest issue with the store is that the sample dresses you try on are stretched out and not reflective of the size of the dress you will receive. I ordered one in my usual size, and could pull the sample size down over my bra, so I purchased a bra with some extra padding to hold up my actual dress. The dress I received from my order was so tight we struggled to get it zipped up at the alterations fitting. I did find the right bra to go with the dress so it fit well for the wedding, but unsurprisingly it was starting to fall down by the end of the night after wearing it all day. Overall I was happy with my bridesmaid dress, but I won't be shopping for my own wedding dress or bridesmaid dresses here. read more

Definitely not a walk-in and browse store. They should really just be open by appointment only and close the door to the public. That being said, I was looking for a dress for a formal gala, and was able to find a 15 minute time slot for the fitting room on short notice. I didn't want any help, I prefer to do my own thing, but a girl named Mercedes was very helpful regardless. I found a Vera Wang little black dress on the clearance rack in my dress size (2 sizes bigger than my regular size... Ugh) and it fit perfectly. There was a small problem with a hook closure, but as I was paying I asked if they could fix it, and they offered to have it fixed right away. If you book an appointment before you go, I'm sure its wonderful. They have a great selection that is well organized and a large variety of sample sizes. The staff wasn't overly friendly, but it was quite busy so I understand. The few people that I dealt with closely were lovely. read more

The first visit for the Bride's dress was pretty standard. Nothing spectacular. The consultant was helpful and polite. The second visit for the Bridesmaid dresses was crowded, claustrophobic, and awful! We booked our appointment two months in advance. We were disappointed to find out that we had to share our consultant with another party buying bridesmaid dresses. We had booked three change-rooms and we only received one. My bestie didn't care about the style of dress as long as we were all wearing the same color. We all have different body types so this was acceptable to all of us. We made a couple of choices from the photos provided and were ushered over to our single change-room. What we had picked was not very flattering so when we wanted to pick something else, our consultant was no where to be found because she was at least triple booked. We went to the racks ourselves to get our own dresses to try on as we had no other choice. Our appointment took a lot longer than expected due to having to share the one change-room. When we asked for the manager to complain, she explained to us that the website on-line booking system was what had caused this crazy mess. She asked us to please contact the corporate customer service department and complain to them because there wasn't much she was able to do for us at store level. She really didn't come across as genuine to me. Our consultant was very apologetic. We were let her know that it wasn't her fault - the poor girl was run off of her feet. Shopping for bridesmaid dresses should be a positive and lasting memory for both the bride and her bridesmaids. I left this store very frustrated. Why two stars? AWFUL. Long story short, I was body shamed out of this store while trying to shop for a wedding dress. The staff were rude, the atmosphere was tense, and the merchandise was cheap looking. I showed up for my appointment and then waited 30 minutes for the consultant to approach me. After having my measurements taken in front of 10-12 other brides and their families and then having my size called out, I was told that there was simply nothing big enough in the store for me (even though they carry my size), I left the store in tears. It was easy to make and cancel appointments over the phone, they have a great system. Most of the staff is great, with the exception of a few staff, who weren't very interested or helpful with finding my dress. I did end up getting my dress here, with an excellent consultant. All of the prices seemed to be very affordable, my dress was even on sale. Lots of selection, and staff would take out dresses only to suit your style. They listened well to my requests. The abundance of mirrors helped a lot in choosing as well, being able to see the back and sides of dresses thoroughly. The one downside to this store was the busy atmosphere during evenings and weekends, although I realize this is impossible to eliminate. I would just avoid those times, if possible. Having an appointment helped, but I just don't enjoy trying on dresses with people swarming all around. I like to try them on in a quieter environment. read more

Lost all the brides maids information the bride had supplied on the first visit. Luckily we had pictures of the dress with the dress number and from there we figured out the color we had picked before. No big deal right? Well as a second unfortunate encounter they lost my address and contact information and the dress was shipped to their store in Edmonton when I specifically asked, and paid for, the shipping to be sent to my house in Fort McMurray. Now they're bugging the bride about my dress being at the store and claiming I need to pick it up by Friday?! Called them and explained the situation and they had lost the brides and my own information yet again? I didn't think it was possible for that many consecutive mess ups in a row. Apparently they claim my dress is being shipped and should arrive 5-7 days from now. I'll give it 10 before a not so pleasant phone call is made. I dunno what's up with the computers but it constantly seems hectic over there. A mistake every visit sure doesn't have my business in the future. read more

You can't have amazing prices, amazing service, all kinds of individual space, and everything you see on the TV shows all rolled into one. David's bridal chooses the great pricing. If you go into this store prepared that that's what the benefit is, and expect the other aspects not to be perfect- you'll have a good experience. I came here with my 6 bridesmaids. It was a busy Saturday. For all of them, we got one change room. Our consultant showed us our change room, and by the time she came back, 20 minutes later, we had a dress picked out and were ready for everyone to get measured. We got our own sizes, we went back for more samples when we needed them. And you know what? We got a super cute dress for a great price. Although the consultant was stretched thin, she was really friendly, and helpful with measuring, sizing, and ordering dresses and shoes for everyone. We even got a great deal on the shoes we ordered. We've given ourselves tons of time, and hopefully that will mean any issues will be able to be dealt with appropriately. And if they aren't- you'll definitely be hearing back from me. We didn't come expecting a boutique experience and we weren't disappointed. read more

I bought my wedding dress two weeks ago and I dealt with a lady named Karen whoe was absolutley amazing! She made me feel comfortable the whole time and even though the area where you show your dress is a bit tight, it was overall a great experience. I would recommend for people to go there and they had dresses from really cheap to much more expensive so it was a good range. A few days later we went back and did a bridesmaid dress appt and the lady I had that time was not as good and not as present, but for bridesmaid dresses you can do on your own becuase you don't need someone doing you up like a wedding dress. I've dealt with Davids Bridal on two separate occasions. For my own wedding in 2015 my 7 bridesmaids and I all got our dresses from here, the lady was outstanding, they made room for my large group. Our dresses came in so fast! Fast enough that one of the colours ended up not being what I thought it would be like and we were able to get a new one in just in time. No questions asked! The dresses were beautiful and I was so incredibly happy. I did however bring my bride to Davids Bridal (I am the maid of honor now) there a few months ago. We were a significantly smaller group, on 3 girls trying on dresses with two moms to watch and was sadly disappointed in the service. We practically had to beg for a chair for one of the moms to sit down on. There were open spots all over the store but they would not let us move. I would go back for myself. But I'm not sure I would book it for someone else without warning them that experience might not be as great as they would like. read more

I was pretty confident when I started my search, booked my appointment during a weekday so it wouldn't be busy. Still my bridesmaids had to help me put on and take off dresses due to double booking, someone had called in sick. When my dress came in the Manager fit me for a bra, ordered it in, and low and behold the cup size was too small. I'm a DD, E or F and she ordered me a C, they told me they couldn't replace the C with a D until July, it was April, my wedding is in July! The Manager actually made me feel guilty - I didn't order the bustier, she did, she sized me. I would NEVER order a C cup, EVER. Bridesmaids dresses, I ordered my daughter a sz 2 and my friend a sz 8, they ordered a 2 and a 6. Ok , they're rectifying that too, after a debate on who said what. I had the sizes written down in 2 different notebooks. What next, my daughters dress was supposed to be shipped to her, they shipped it to me, I got it today. She lives in B.C., I live in Edmonton and now there's no time to ship it to her because she's being posted in Vernon and we're not sure where AND we can't ship to her there. We have to cross our fingers she won't need alterations. David's Bridal has done NOTHING to rectify their wrongs, I would recommend you go elsewhere. It is a commission structure and it's all about the sale. When the Manager ordered my bra for me she told me as long as I tried it on in the store if it didn't fit I could return it, LOL, now it's only an exchange and she's the one who messed up. So what if it doesn't arrive in time for my wedding? I've already paid for it....what do they care? To top that, they didn't even call me when it came in, I had stopped in and asked, the girl said yes, it's in, didn't anyone call you? Well it's in the back where we put them once you've been called. Unbelievable. The people were friendly while helping you to spend $$, but it all goes downhill after you've paid for everything. Customer Service is horrible. I don't recommend you take a chance with David's Bridal. I've cancelled my fitting appointment just in case they mess that up too, not taking anymore chances. read more

A rating of 1 is generous! This store was dusty (seriously - thick dust on the shelf), carpet and dresses were dirty and tattered in places, the bathroom was disgusting and the whole store was tired and cheat looking - generally trash! We had left a beautifully dignified, attentive bridal store in Sherwood Park (Bridal Debut) and made our way to the south side David's Bridal location for a pre-booked appointment for my daughter to try on wedding dresses, with her maid-of-honor and aunt that travelled to Edmonton to attend the special day. Well, where do I start... the consultant was late and some how was double booked. The change room was a regular size room you'd find in any standard clothing store - didn't take into consideration you're trying on big dresses, not blue jeans and a shirt, ridiculous. The "consultant" did nothing but randomly pull dresses and take dresses away and according to her, everything looked fabulous....really?!? I had to help zip up and pin the dresses and because of the little change room my daughter had to step out into the general area while trying to hold a dress in place - no privacy. We lasted for 4 dresses and left. Fortunately the maid-of-honor was able get a last minute appointment at Pure Bridal on the west end - she pleaded with them on the brides behalf to not end on such a low brow experience. This place is the place to go if you're under 20, and want to have a lark with your girlfriends on a Saturday afternoon while out shopping..."hey girlfriends, lets go try on wedding dresses for fun". Seriously this was a horrible, horrible experience and no bride should have to live it. Don't subject yourself to this place - you DESERVE better. In fact one of the dresses my daughter tried was $1700 and looked very cheap for the same price she purchased a beautiful French lace gown at an actual bridal store (Pure Bridal) and was treated as a bride should be, with dignity. To be a first time bride is a once in a lifetime opportunity - don't let this place be your memory. read more

I was at the David's Bridal on Tuesday night and the very helpful associate called the warehouse to make sure that the dresses/sizes my bridesmaids wanted were in stock. She said that if they are at the warehouse they can get the dresses in 5 weeks (my wedding is Sept. 3). The store was closing so I could not order right then and she told me to call first thing in the morning and my order could be taken over the phone. I called the next morning to order the two dresses and the associate said she would call me back once she verified with the warehouse that the items were in stock. She called me back to inform me that the dresses were still in stock at the warehouse and they would arrive during the 3rd week of August. That is an additional 5 weeks than what I was told the previous night! I told the clerk that it wouldn't leave enough time for alterations so I would just order the dresses online instead. She proceeded to tell me that David's Bridal does not ship to Canada. In a matter of moments, I went from ecstatic about finding the right dresses, to devastated that my bridesmaids wouldn't have dresses for my wedding. I decided to read the international shipping information on the website so I could understand why I wouldn't be able to get the dresses. Online it stated that some items have "International Shipping Available" and can indeed be mailed to Canada. I quickly went to the page for the dress I wanted to order and it was available for international shipping. The cost of the dresses online were $201.80 compared to the $179 in store and the shipping, taxes and duties were a whopping $169.58 extra. I ordered the dresses but I am still very confused and stunned that: 1) I was told 5 weeks for shipping one day then 10 weeks for shipping the next, 2) the associate flat out lied about David's Bridal not shipping to Canada, 3) I was not given any type of alternative solution or assistance when I had to tell the woman that I needed to cancel my order as the dresses wouldn't arrive in time, 4) the shipping times between ordering online (9-15 days) and in store (10 weeks) are so incredibly different, 5) I had to pay so much more than I originally budgeted for. This is not the first time David's Bridal has failed me. When I went wedding dress shopping in April I took a list of dresses that I wished to try on, directly quoting the style numbers from the website. The associate did not pull ANY of the dresses, although we asked her to multiple times, and I left an hour later completely hopeless and defeated. I have emailed David's in inform them that their staff need to be trained to know that some items are shipped to Canada, that this is a very emotional and important time in a person's life and assistance above and beyond needs to be given to clients to create a good experience, and finally, that these types of situations cause potential clients to be detrimental to a company's reputation. This should not have happened and I'm very unhappy with this entire situation. If I hadn't been diligent and read the website's international shipping information, they would have missed out on my (unfortunately, much larger than expected) purchase! EDIT: I received a comment from a woman at David's Bridal, asking me to email her. Here is a portion of my email: "...I failed to mention that when we went in to our appointment on Tuesday, we arrived before 8 p.m. and after a couple minutes of being ignored by the women at the reception kiosk, I finally interjected and advised that I had an appointment. The woman who checked us in advised us that she would inform the associate assigned to us that we were here. As suggested, we took a look around the store and at 8:15 when we still had not been approached by anyone (though there were plenty of girls standing around in a nearly customer-free store), I went up and told the two girls at the reception kiosk that I had an appointment and still had not been helped. One of those associates was very helpful and when given the list of dresses my bridesmaids had chosen to try on, she immediately went to work measuring them and pulling exactly what they were looking for (much better than my experience with my mother when I went to try on wedding dresses). Yesterday morning I received an email from David's Bridal saying "Sorry we missed you!". I'm not sure exactly what happened, but the system did not register us as being at the appointment. The woman that "checked us in" must not have, and she very clearly saw us wandering around the store well after 8 p.m. This is really disappointing, especially at such a slow time of day. This just adds to my displeasure with David's Bridal..." She responded telling me she would contact me by phone today - 06/17/2016. Been to this store twice now. First time was to look for my wedding dress. The second time was for bridesmaids dresses. The first time the only thing I can say it was extremely crowded. We could hardly move or speak because of so many people in there even thou we had an apt. The second time was yesterday. (Apt booked 3 weeks ago) Myself and my 3 bridesmaids were in attendance. They each needed a dress. We were cramped into this big area full of change rooms. Their were a bunch of chairs (all taken, so we had to stand and wait right by the door of the change room and wait for each bridesmaid to come out cuz their was absolutely NO room for us) and we were only allowed one change room for all 3 bridesmaids. We were all majorly put off by this as we could not enjoy our apt even slightly. The girl was very pushy and rude. Her name was Lorissa. I tried to explain to her what I wanted and she didn't have a clue, she couldn't help us coordinate colors. Twice she looked at one of her other co-workers and rolled her eyes and the co-workers would laugh at us. I was very upset by this. We all were. She kept disappearing throughout my apt and my bridesmaids needed help getting into and out of their dresses. She kept pointing out the time. We felt so rushed. Very poor customer service. Very poor guest experience. Wouldn't return to this place if our wedding depended on it! Get your SH*T together David's bridal! You should NOT be pushing paying customers into a small little area and expecting them to be ok with it. read more

Here's a copy of an unanswered email i sent to dbcares@dbi.com Hello, I ordered 5 bridesmaids dresses from your Edmonton Alberta location. Only one was to be altered by the seamstress at the store. It was for my daughter. The seamstress told me she could do it and gave me a quote of $80. When I went to pick up the dresses the lady helping me informed me that the alterations department is too busy and they refused to do it. I asked for a refund on the dress and again the lady refused stating that my dress was already paid for and there was no way to get my money back. I even asked for store credit so I could buy my daughter a flower girl dress instead and again I was refused. I asked to speak with a manager and the sales associate told me that the manager was not in. I left my name and number for the manager to call and of course I haven't received a call yet. This was over a month ago! So now I have this useless $188 + tax dress hanging in my closet. I tried to find another seamstress but its too late and they are all too busy. I had to pay for a new (and different) dress, rush order and expedited shipping. I would have never ordered that bridesmaids dress if I wasn't told that it could be altered! I'm just fuming! I'd like this issue resolved. I'd like to return the dress and be fully refunded and I'd rather not have to dispute the purchase with my credit card company if I don't have to. I feel bad for all the wonderful brides to be out there that only have this as their dress shopping experience. Booking my appointment was an issue right off the bat. I called weeks in advance to book my appointment because I was coming from another province to see Davids Bridal. The night before I am leaving to drive 6 hours to edmonton i get an email at approx 11pm at night with my confirmation with my appointment time at the wrong time! Since it was 11pm I couldn't call until the next day and almost didn't get in as I had other appointments booked around my davids bridal apmt. I will give them props for fitting me in but it only gets worse from here. We arrive at Davids and there are probably 8-10 other ladies standing around the "welcome desk" waiting for help. I introduce myself and tell them I have an appointment and they say because I am 10 minutes early to go sit down around the corner in a sitting area. I am within ear shot and hear the "hostess" in a panic trying to find consultants for everyone waiting. A few minutes later i get called over a loud speaker to go back to the welcome desk. I felt like I was at fuddruckers getting called over a loud speaker when they could have taken a few steps over and came and got me from where they told me to wait. The consultant and I talked and I showed her a whole bunch of pictures of the styles I liked and what I did and didn't like. She completely disregarded what I said and brought me dresses that were nothing like we talked about and seemed to have no idea about what I was looking for. I asked if my family and friends with me could show her some of the stuff I was looking for and she said she preferred they didn't then later admitted to them she didn't know what she was looking for and asked them to come help her. The dressing rooms were barely big enough to get me and one dress in let along her trying to help me or a couple dresses we wanted to try on and the dressing rooms didn't have mirrors so I had no idea what I was walking out with and how it looked and when I did get out into the area with the mirrors I was tripping over chairs, other consultants, shoulder to shoulder with other clients. It was a disaster. There was no pedestal or proper mirror set up to see the backs of dresses and no room to walk around in the dress to see how it felt. It was crowded and the floor was dirty and had pills and garbage strewn about and chairs everywhere but no where to sit. Dresses thrown across chairs so my family had to stand while waiting for me and waiting for my consultant who would disappear for 15 minutes at a time. The selection of designers was only 5 designers which sounds like a lot but they didn't have any of the dresses of the pictures of the same designers that I brought because of course its a canadian store and the pics from davids bridal I brought were only carried in the states so they really had a small selection just many sizes of each dress. The davids bridal canada site apparently links to the american one so messes it all up for those hoping to try on some of the dresses. They also had a bell that brides would ring when they chose a dress which may just be me but I thought it was kind of tacky and it was so loud in there that i could barely talk to my family to see their thoughts etc and then the bell would ring in our ear. Anywho ... there are lots of other things that bothered me but overall it was just a completely disappointing experience, impersonal, unorganized and I hope others have the opportunity to dress shop elsewhere that really makes you feel special as you plan your big day. I certainly didn't get any happy feelings from Davids. I came from another province for an amazing experience with some amazing dresses by favourite designers and i think they would be appalled at how their stuff is represented. :( read more

In early Sep (2013) I purchased and ordered my wedding dress from David's Bridal in Edmonton, AB. Selecting and buying my dress at David's, with the help of the sales assistant, was a great experience. Everybody was so caring and amazing! However, that's where it ends. Three weeks later my dress was ready for pick-up. When I first tried it on at home I noticed the fit was completely different than before. It was shapeless. It was flat and it just felt wrong. When I took my dress for fittings and alteration I found out, from the seamstress (who designed and sold custom-made wedding dresses througout her life) that I had been sent a washed and used sample dress. After she pointed out all of the flaws, tears, and the shrunken lace, she had confirmed my worst fears. Not only did I pay full price ($1000) for a sample dress but David's Bridal refused to acknowledge their mistake (which in reality seems like it was a dishonest bait and switch). On top of this I had to spend $500 to have the dress altered and repaired in order for it to be wearable on my wedding day. Absolutely brutal experience!! I would totally recommend you to go elsewhere for your wedding dress needs. read more

This was my first experience at David's Bridal and i can't say i was overly impressed. We went on a Saturday so first and foremost it was crazy busy which made for a less than memorable experience. But that wasn't even the most disappointing part. I dont know if they over book, or under staff, but our consultant was just as much about helping us as she was about helping another party which was incredibly irritating. When you make an appointment months before, you kind of expect to have someone helping you the entire time, not having to chase them down every 10 minutes. I get you're busy on a weekend, but either don't over book, or just don't help walk-ins. Plain and simple. Not only was our consultant playing the disappearing act constantly, she really could not have been less helpful. She brought dresses out, and helped get them on but that was literally it. She offered no advice, no opinions, wasn't engaging at all. Just basically wanted to get us in and out it felt like. This was our first time dress shopping for my friend, so we were really looking forward to this being an amazing experience. It wasn't. The manager came over a couple times and she was awesome, she was super engaging and helpful. If we had known about her, and could have booked an appointment with a specific consultant, it would have been her hands down. She did bring out a couple questionable dresses that weren't at all what we were looking for, which didn't make a lot of sense to us, but maybe she was just trying to show us all the different options. Either way, the experience over all was vastly disappointing. If you're a bride on a budget this is the place to go, they do have a decent selection of dresses, mostly for quite cheap, but the customer service just isn't good at all. After a 1.5 hour appointment we left no better off than we came in really. As for the store itself, its pretty small and cramped. At least in the changing area. You're almost shoulder to shoulder with the other brides, which makes it a little difficult to try things on and really get the experience. I really had higher hopes for David's Bridal and we probably won't be back unfortunately. read more

I started my search for my wedding dress at David's Bridal. The worst idea I've ever had!!! I booked an appointment early and had my family come from out of town for my appointment. I got there about 10 minutes early for my appointment. I was waiting to be helped and after 10 minutes someone gave me a useless Ipad to look at. I don't care about what you have online, I just want to start trying on dresses. By the way the majority of dresses they have online, they do not have in store, especially if they are on sale. I finally got in to the change room. The consultant gave me a bustier and a slip to put on. They only brought 2 dresses at a time and my consultant kept disappearing and leaving me in the same dress for up to 10 minutes. She would come back with 1 or 2 dresses. Nearing the end of my appointment (which was cut short) it got so crowded in there that I would walk out and people would be standing on the dress I had on, including the consultant. I found one dress that I kind of liked and got a better understanding of what I was looking for. I thought I would give them a second chance to redeem themselves and went again by myself on a Tuesday night. I showed up early again for my appointment. It wasn't very busy just two other groups trying on bridesmaid dresses. They double booked the consultant that was helping me so she seemed almost mad that she had to help me. After 10 minutes of sitting by myself she finally came back with 2 dresses and a bustier for me to put on. She helped me with the bustier and then left me in the room by myself to put on a big ball gown. She didn't come back for at least 5 minutes so I was standing outside the room waiting to be zipped into a dress. This happened over and over again until I got fed up and told them I would be leaving. I decided I should say something to the Manager before I left, I told her about my experience and I just got a generic "I'm so to hear that". Completely awful service and its supposed to be an exciting time and after I left my second appointment I felt very defeated and disappointed. *They won't have dresses that are on sale online *If you seen it online, good luck finding it to try on in store *If you want sympathy from the manager, you wont get it *Hopefully you get a good consultant that likes working in the hole that is Davids Bridal *If your budget is small, its not worth going there *You may end up buying a dress that's not your dream dress because you were stuck wearing it for so long that it kind of grew on you. *Its really hard to tell how you feel about the dress before you walk out because they don't have mirrors in the change room. *The guests you bring wont be able to go off your expressions because you don't really have one for the dress yet. read more
