I started my search for my wedding dress at David's Bridal. The worst idea I've ever had!!! I booked an appointment early and had my family come from out of town for my appointment. I got there about 10 minutes early for my appointment. I was waiting to be helped and after 10 minutes someone gave me a useless Ipad to look at. I don't care about what you have online, I just want to start trying on dresses. By the way the majority of dresses they have online, they do not have in store, especially if they are on sale. I finally got in to the change room. The consultant gave me a bustier and a slip to put on. They only brought 2 dresses at a time and my consultant kept disappearing and leaving me in the same dress for up to 10 minutes. She would come back with 1 or 2 dresses. Nearing the end of my appointment (which was cut short) it got so crowded in there that I would walk out and people would be standing on the dress I had on, including the consultant. I found one dress that I kind of liked and got a better understanding of what I was looking for. I thought I would give them a second chance to redeem themselves and went again by myself on a Tuesday night. I showed up early again for my appointment. It wasn't very busy just two other groups trying on bridesmaid dresses. They double booked the consultant that was helping me so she seemed almost mad that she had to help me. After 10 minutes of sitting by myself she finally came back with 2 dresses and a bustier for me to put on. She helped me with the bustier and then left me in the room by myself to put on a big ball gown. She didn't come back for at least 5 minutes so I was standing outside the room waiting to be zipped into a dress. This happened over and over again until I got fed up and told them I would be leaving. I decided I should say something to the Manager before I left, I told her about my experience and I just got a generic "I'm so to hear that". Completely awful service and its supposed to be an exciting time and after I left my second appointment I felt very defeated and disappointed. *They won't have dresses that are on sale online *If you seen it online, good luck finding it to try on in store *If you want sympathy from the manager, you wont get it *Hopefully you get a good consultant that likes working in the hole that is Davids Bridal *If your budget is small, its not worth going there *You may end up buying a dress that's not your dream dress because you were stuck wearing it for so long that it kind of grew on you. *Its really hard to tell how you feel about the dress before you walk out because they don't have mirrors in the change room. *The guests you bring wont be able to go off your expressions because you don't really have one for the dress yet. read more

I would not recommend David's Bridal to anyone after my two recent experiences shopping for bridesmaid dresses. My first visit to the store was with one of my bridesmaids and we popped in just to take a look without an appointment. Although there was a consultant at the front counter, she did not greet us and the exchange was a little bit awkward to say the least and left us feeling unwelcome. After struggling to be acknowledged by the associate, we told her we were just stopping in to take a quick look around as we were unfamiliar with the store. We were not there with any specific intentions to try on dresses since we hadn't made an appointment. She told us that she would try and find a consultant for us but since we had no appointment we might not receive help (no problem). After standing there awkwardly for a while unsure if we were supposed to be waiting for a consultant or just take a look around ourselves she said that there was a consultant who could help us but only for 10 minutes until she went on her break. Her and the consultant then had a conversation in front of us and then told us that we would have to wait for someone else (I'm guessing the consultant did not want to risk interfering with her break after all).. Finally after more of us standing around awkwardly a consultant finally came by to say that she was available to help us. That consultant was okay and if it wasn't for that initial exchange with the person at the front I would not have had an issue with our experience. I'm not sure if that associate at the front desk was having a bad day or what but she made a really bad impression. I am a very easy to please customer and usually don't notice or take offence to little things (everyone's human) but it was pretty bad! Nonetheless we liked the dresses and the price point during our first visit so we decided to book an appointment to come back in with all four bridesmaids and myself. Plus I was sure that the bad service would be an isolated incident. Unfortunately for us, that appointment was also pretty bad! The associate who was scheduled to help us was very very new (it seemed like we may have been her first appointment ever..?). She was really sweet but shy and hard to communicate with and did not seem at all confident with her knowledge yet. Four bridesmaids seemed to be way to much for her as she appeared visibly overwhelmed the entire time. It was not an efficient appointment as she ran around trying to figure things out and we waited. Also, they only gave us two dressing rooms for four girls. Not sure if that's standard practice or not but between that and the overwhelmed newbie associate our appointment went way over the allotted time and we felt rushed. The shadiest thing that happened for us over this entire bad experience with David's Bridal was when we asked the associate about their online store. My sister lives on Vancouver Island where there is no David's Bridal so we were wondering what the process would look like if she ordered her dress online. I had been on their website briefly before so I knew there was at least the option to buy online. Our associate could not answer our question so another associate came over. She told us that we should NOT order online. We asked why and she said its too expensive. What about the online shopping process made it more expensive we asked. She said there were huge shipping fees, etc. We asked more clarifying questions but she did not offer us any details about how much or what other fees she was referring to. I decided to just look it up on my phone myself since her response was so indirect and strange. That day online shipping was free for orders over $100. That may not be the case every day but based on her response we are certain she had no idea and was just trying to ensure we would buy in store so they would get the commission. It came across super greasy and not subtle at all. Regardless of what might be in your best interest as a consultant (commission!), you still owe it to the customer to be honest. At the end of the appointment, everyone had found dresses that they liked and my sister was ready to purchase hers that day. Unfortunately, because the consultant was not familiar with the product, the dress my sister wanted to buy didn't actually come in the color we were shopping for. Overall, the appointment felt like a waste of time. My sister won't be back in Edmonton for months. We will go elsewhere to shop and as I mentioned earlier I will not recommend this store to any one. We would have been purchasing at least four dresses there and although the prices are fair, me and my party would rather spend an extra $50 or so and be treated well somewhere else. read more

David's Bridal was my last stop on my wedding dress hunt. Compared to the other stores I went to I felt like the dresses were just ok. They definitely cater to brides on a budget, and there were at least 2 other brides who found their dresses on the evening of my appointment. I was looking for an all lace dress and found the quality and detail on the dresses not quite to my standards. Courtney, my consultant, was very helpful in pulling dresses according to my requests. One complaint was that this was the only store that gave me a strapless shaper to try the dress on with. I have a larger bust to start with and it was extremely unflattering. I think they need to be more aware of who they are assisting and not try to use the same fitting strategy with every bride. read more

My appointment was overall pretty disappointing. For the first 20 mins I was seated and asked to pick dresses off an iPad. I had already been to the website and had numbers for the dresses I was interested in, but since I was waiting I clicked on a few. It made little difference, because after trying on the first one I was interested in and knowing the style was all wrong for me, the consultant just started pulling whatever - all bad. Each dress I was given to try felt a bit cheap (even the ones that were over $1000) and were hard to walk in. She suggested a very hot, polyester underskirt to make it possible to walk in the gowns - everybody there seemed to have one on - no thanks I'm getting married in June down south. The bride next to me was trying on some really nice dresses so I asked if I could try those styles and my consultant dismissed my request, just like she ignored the numbers I brought in and the all the suggestions I was making (I said I liked lace, she brought satin, etc.). In fact, I don't think she heard a word I said. She asked me twice where my wedding was being held. I'll also note that it was not busy. It was a Monday afternoon appointment but I was still given the bums rush to leave. She said, "This'll be the last dress you can try on." (it had been about 40 mins not including the 20 I waited). After, I looked around on my own and I was surprised at the huge selection! I kept thinking "Why didn't she bring me this... or this... or this?" But since I couldn't try them on, I left disappointed and dress-less. On a positive note, although she was not a great listener, the consultant was nice enough. read more

My sister had booked an appointment with a consultant for last weekend for all 4 of her bridesmaids. When we arrived, the staff was confused and very disorganized, nobody knew which group they were to work with and no preparations for us had been made at all. Our consultant asked minimal questions and just started grabbing dresses off the rack asking us, "Is this good? How about this?" She didn't know anything about the dresses or the designers. She then took us to our "fitting area" which was just a large shared room with other bridal parties. They gave us 2 fitting rooms for our 4 girls and said we had to share. Even though we had BOOKED 4! Then... to top it all off, our consultant took off as she was double booked. Another lady offered to grab us correct sizing but out of the 3 dresses the first consultant had provided us to try, we didn't like any of them.Nobody offered to bring us other dresses or even any suggestions AT ALL! We packed up and left without so much as an offer to help further or even ask if we were leaving. It was an absolute joke!! If you want an off the rack, serve yourself, completely uneducated in regards to the dresses consultant, I would recommend Davis's Bridal, they can certainly provide all those things. I went into David's Bridal today for the first time, and was very unimpressed. I was looking for bridal shoes and although there were many staff on hand and the store wasn't very busy, most were just standing around doing nothing and no one offered to help. When I finally found a staff member to ask a question, in the hopes they could help me in my search, they simply answered the question and walked away. There were two staff members having a personal conversation right next to me and neither offered any assistance. The only time someone offered any help was after I'd already been looking for 25-30 mins. and was putting on my socks to leave. My mom wanted to look for a dress for herself for the wedding and again no help or offers for assistance. I finally had to ask a staff member if she could please open up a change room so my mom could try on a few dresses and she looked at me frowning like I'd just asked her to start doing handstands. She opened up a room for us then walked away without a word. The change room was dirty, and the carpet was stained. I had to get different sizes for my mom to try on because not one of the many available staff seemed willing to help us, or even acknowledge we existed. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The staff are unfriendly and unwilling to help even when it's not busy. Don't waste your time or your money here! read more

I love David's Bridal and so glad they have one here, only wish there was one in Calgary too! I bought my dress in the states at David's a week before Christmas, for anyone with weddings next year, I really recommend you shop for your dress right before Christmas as it was super quiet and I had a consultant all to myself! Booking an appointment was very easy. You must know that you share your consultant with other people so you have to be patient. There is not a lot of room so don't bring everyone, bring one or two people for their opinions. Know that if you need bridesmaid dresses in other sizes or colors, you have to wait many weeks so don't make the mistake I have made! Alterations are good prices, I can't say how good they are yet as I have left my dress with them to alter! This is a very popular place, there were lines outside before they open and this is just a regular Sunday! Brides if you can I would recommend going in the daytime in the week for a more special moment picking your dress! Overall David's bridal is my favourite to shop! I got my dress, bag and shoes from here, my flower girl and hopefully bridesmaid along with several members of my family getting their outfits too! read more

Staff were extremely helpful and pleasant, but I think you have to be in a wedding boutique. I was astonished by the prices in the store, but definitely very happy. I thought that the dresses both wedding gowns and bridesmaids were extremely affordable. The sales ladies weren't pushy and I thought it was great that they made a file for you so you could remember what you tried on. I also enjoyed that there were accessories right near the fitting rooms so you could try on a vail or tiara to finish the look off. I'm not engaged yet, but I'll definitely be making an appointment when I am! read more

Our brdiesmaids dresses from here were totally gorgeous and I guess a decent price considering they were labelled "bridesmaids". It worked out that they are partners with Moores because without knowing it both the dresses and the tux rental vests & ties were Biscotti, so everything matched really nicely. I first made an appt at the David's Bridal location in SouthCommon in Edmonton, AB back in March. Got in, everything was great. Service was awesome, employee was attentive and found the dress my mom ended up purchasing for me ($1200). They booked me in for alterations that day, and said nothing else about it. Thank god I put it in my schedule for that appt, 8 weeks out of our wedding, because no one called me to remind me. When I arrived at 10am today (tues sept 30) the place was a ghost town. No lights on, no music. Someone did greet me, didn't ask my name, and seemed flustered already. Proceeded to tell me that their store hours were changed that week so they now open at 11:00, so I wouldn't be able to use the proper fitting room as the lights are controlled by head office in the states... (???).... Ok that's fine I guess I slipped through the cracks to let me know your store is still closed. So I didn't get that awesome bride experience in the proper fitting room, I had to go to the public fitting rooms. That's totally ok with me, however, the floors were disgusting. I didn't want to set my dress down. Like these are first world problems, but if my mom is paying over $1000 for something I'm wearing for a couple hours, for the biggest day of my life so far, this better be top notch. We had to ask for the pedestal. So as I'm trying it on, another staff member (no smiling, doesn't say hello or even a 'you look great' just continues to Vaccuum around me with, what seemed like, the loudest vacuum on the planet. My sister and I couldn't talk, I couldn't hear the alterations lady... It was a gong show. I had no problems with my alterations person, Grace (i think?) she never asked my name, seemed really distant & asked no questions about my maid of honour there (my sister) or my wedding. Bad rapport building skills. I'm in sales for a living and wow - poorly trained. She wouldn't drop the fact that my hips are large for my size four waist. I said yes thank you I'm aware, lol. Then I don't know what made me ask this, but I just randomly asked 'so these alterations are included in the dress price, correct?' She proceeded to tell me 'no. None of our dresses have that included' I said what! No body told me this when I purchased the dress. How much will it be? She said $170 base, $70 for sides, $100 for bust etc etc. I said Woa Woa Woa I was NOT told this and that would have affected my decision about the dress. She kept belittling me saying 'I don't know why they wouldn't tell you but they aren't included'. I proceeded to say yes thank you now I know that.... So i made a bit of a fuss because that's a big slimy sideswipe in my opinion. I heard terrible reviews from there and was warned, but I gave the benefit of the doubt. It comes time for her to give me an alterations summary and as she goes to tell me, the front desk girl comes and gets her and leaves me for five minutes just standing there twiddling my thumbs. So anyways when she finally gets back, the total is....... Get ready..... $470!!!!!!!!! Honestly, it's not about the price. I was peeved at the experience so far, on top of not being told. Have integrity. I asked if I needed to pay now or later, they of course said now. Like what the hell is going on here. This business is POORLY operated and staff are horrendously trained. They put a sour taste in my mouth about the whole process. Extremely disappointed. None of the staff were inviting. Grace was okay, and I feel bad for taking it out on her. But damn! And also - I was being poked with pins all over my body. My maid of honour called our mom during this process and told her what happened. Mom asked to speak to the manager. The manager was surprised by this, but took the phone. Mom ended up giving her credit card over the phone, and I ended up paying for half as well. But while mom was on the phone, she ended up getting the manager to throw in the Bussels ($57) for free. Went to pay, and magically they changed their mind. I honestly just wanted to cry. At one point I was in tears. I'm sure David's Bridal has many good apples working for them, but I honestly think the training needs to stem from head office. Just maybe take a week and re train everyone. It was awful, and what do they care that I'm not happy? It's not like I'm going to be a repeat customer?? They schmoozed me before purchasing the dress. Then it was like I didn't exist. I am thankful they carried what ended up being my dream dress. But would not recommend my worst enemy to go here, let alone people I care about. I just walked in on a Monday afternoon and pretty much had the store to myself! It was really nice, I am going to be a maid of honor for my best friend so as long as I had the right color I could choose any bridesmaid dress I wanted. Lyn was a HUGE help. She quickly pulled different styles for me, talked to me thoroughly about sizing and helped me in every dress. There are a lot of dresses in a wide variety of sizes to try on. Make sure you make an appointment. What I was disappointed with was the service. Since there was just one person trying on dresses, the consultant was attentive and helpful. However, I ordered the dresses over the phone. They told me the wait would be approximately two months (which I knew ahead of time). The wait was much shorter than expected but when they phoned me, I was told they could only hold the dress for 7 days. I was waiting for two dresses and asked if I could just wait to pick them up at the same time as I am coming from the opposite side of the city (approx 40 minutes away). The staff were not very accommodating and kept repeating that I had 7 days. I went to pick up my first dress and then two days later, they called me to pick up my second dress. This is where I get annoyed. Their excuse was that there was no room in the warehouse. I have a hard time believing they couldn't keep one dress and make an exception just to maintain good service. read more

Very nice large store located in South Commons. I went on a Friday night without booking an appointment, they did manage to get me in but the consultant provided was preoccupied with other brides. There are many dresses to pick, the most expensive one i seen was $1,300. I did not find the right dress for me but i did find beautiful bridesmaid dresses. We went twice and were treated very well, the consultants were patient and listened to my daughters wishes for dress style. Great experience! We managed to find the perfect dress for the bride and maid of honor there in just a short time. The staff were attentive, patient and listened to want the bride wanted. She helped with pair to the two dresses together and helped give advice on which color to best match the weddings overall colors. My only suggestion would to try have a couple more chair for each bride (i know space is a little tight ) but most brides had more then two people there with them. read more

She left us in the middle of the appointment. She seemed distracted & did not really care about what we wanted OR our dress sizes. By the end of the appointment she did not even measure us to see if our dress sizes would fit. . . . I just hope our dresses fit cause she left us in the middle of the appointment & we were pulling dresses on our own to find what we liked. I had already tried on gowns at two other bridal boutiques and had had lack luster experiences. I had narrowed down to one gown style a drop waist Essence of Australia gown which ran $2000 right at the top of my budget. As davids was located close to where my grandmother lives I felt it was a great opportunity for me to try on some gowns with her to give me a final opinion. I was working with Lyna who was a complete treat. I was able to give her the picture of myself in my top pick so far and her along with 3 other associates set to the challenge of beating it. I tried on 2 gowns then came to a 3rd which I hadn't originally thought would really be a style fit. The moment she had me walk out of the room and in front of my sisters and grandma they're responses were priceless. Lyna completely gave me that feeling that this was MY DRESS and I had made the right choice. Her heartfelt support of helping me find that vision of a dress to fit into our day truly showed through her joy and expression when I did say yes to the dress! I've read reviews of poor experiences at davids and I just have to say so far into my journey as a bride they have been incredible at the south Edmonton common location and I'm looking forward to getting my gown this spring. I will be using their alteration department so will pay a review more after I met with them in May. read more

I would have to say I found this place to be very unprofessional, rude, and very poor customer service. My consultant asked me if I had anything in mind I told her this is my first time and not sure what I am looking for. She proceeded to find some dresses. After trying on lace I told her I didn't like lace. She proceeded to bring more lace dresses. After the third lace dress she told me if I didn't tell her what I didn't like she would continue to bring uglier dresses out. I am happy to hear that they work on commission cause this consultant will not be getting any of my business read more

I had a great experience with the staff at David's Bridal. I was able to get an appointment on short notice and the staff was friendly and helpful. The dress selection was far better than the other bridal shops I'd visited, and the prices were very reasonable. I also really like the dress cleaning package they offer - it's a steal of a deal! Overall I felt very pampered, not rushed at all and had a great time joining the tradition of ringing the bell once my dress was chosen! read more

Terrible customer service!! Our girl that was supposed to help us was not available for us. She was there.. she just wasn't helpful. I brought my own dresses to the change room, zipped myself up, and got my own different sizes and colours, because even though I asked her for assistance, she just pointed and said "it's over there". She would just disappear and not be around. Just overall was not helpful at all. I did decided to purchase a dress because it was budget friendly and still beautiful, but the lady had no idea what she was doing in the system, and would just walk away at points. It ended with another staff coming over to ring in my dress. I'm really not impressed with the service.. but the dress selection and prices are good. Another huge downfall is that there are no mirrors in the actual change rooms. There are on the outside, but not inside. I would like to see what I look like before stepping out to an incredible busy store with lots of people and eyes. read more

I posted a review about the Edmonton David's Bridal in May and it was filtered. :(. Anyway, as an update I went to the David's Bridal in Spokane and it was AMAZING! I found the dress I wanted and my consultant let me try on every single dress I had a picture of so I wouldn't wonder about the dresses I didn't try on. The store is a better layout too. I feel sad for brides in the Edmonton area who only have this David's Bridal to visit. The Edmonton store has a lot to work on if they are going to be successful. The consultants need to dress more professionally and learn how to listen to their brides. Just because the dresses are lower priced doesn't mean that the brides going to that store deserve second class service. I couldn't believe how 2 stores in the same chain could be so completely different! read more

When I booked all my appointments I made sure to ask for friendly people (because I was terrified to deal with grumpy people while dress hopping). When we first arrived for my appointment it took them a while to figure things out and not once could they clearly communicate what we were waiting on or even a smooth transition to learn my name, appt etc. When they did they learned I was to see Spencer who was busy so we had to wait a little longer. He was super friendly and helped me throughout every dress. I kept appologizing because none of them were really doing it for me. I had came from the Bridal house that morning where dresses are way different price and quality as well. I think David's is great for a bride on a budget but I found a huge difference int he quality. I tried on about 4-5 and just felt bad that nothing was working. I had mentioned I think I had found one earlier at another store (he asked me why I would be there if I think I already found the one- I answered that I had made an appt to 3 places that day and figured a dress was like car shopping- and I thought I had to "test drive" the dresses to make sure) When we decided the appointment was over for trying on dresses, I came out from putting my clothes back on and he was nowhere to be found- all my girls said he just walked away and didnt say anything to them. When we left the building he was standing there talking to his colleagues and not once said "thank you" etc--- NOTHING! I was so upset as we still needed to go bridesmaid dress shopping but I will definetely avoid it there thats for sure. I would make sure to not recommend dealing with this store. Myabe it was because the bridal house was sooo amazing to deal with that Davids couldnt really match up but it was a very bitter taste to not even get a "nice to meet you, hopefully see you when you have to shop for your bridesmaids" read more

I went into David's Bridal to find a reception dress that would be flattering and affordable. The selection of reception dresses was excellent, there were a tons of styles/lengths/etc however they were out of my size in all but two of the dresses I liked. Luckily I really loved one of them and decided to buy it! I was a little surprised they were so low on sizes as I am a popular size and it wasn't an overly busy time to be buying a dress. The person helping me was nice but didn't go out of her way to help me find other dresses I might be interested in. The store is well maintained and I liked that they also had a good selection of accessories, flower girl attire, and lots of dresses. I have heard many horror stories about davids but for the most part have had pleasant experiences. While I have never shopped there for a wedding dress, I have bought a bridesmaid dress there and picked my own bridesmaid dresses there. I love that they carry multiple sizes of the bridesmaid dresses, and in lots of colours. This is by far superior to any salon in the city with their one sample size in one colour deal. The service can be a bit lack luster but nothing awful. The place is busy and the walls off change rooms and mirrors leave you feeling like you are in old navy and doesn't feel as elegant as other bridal salons but for the price- meh who cares? read more

I went into David's Bridal today to find my wedding dress. I haven't had a good experience before with my bridesmaids but I have to say that today turned that all around. I had a very nice lady named Lynn help me out today and she took note of what I liked and disliked and really listened when I mentioned what I was looking for and the style. She helped me try on many dresses and gave suggestions. I was very pleased with how my appointment went and ending up choosing a very lovely dress. Lynn also helped to select accessories for it as well. I will be making a recommendation to my friends and family to go to David's Bridal and ask for Lynn. read more

The only reason I'm giving David's Bridal even one star is because I can't give less. Where do I even begin? We made an appointment, get there, and wait just to speak to someone (it was busy but there were attendants who appeared to be standing around). Finally we are greeted just to find out they have no record of our appointment, which the MOH had made a mere hour or so prior. They search for the bride's info, which she had filled out from a previous visit, that is somehow MIA too. So after refilling out the information we are told to go look at, but do NOT pull, dresses while we wait for our attendant. After we've been around the racks three times our attendant finally shows up. She asks us what we are looking for and we told her the colour, that we wanted a high-low or something shorter. She says to pull whatever we want and go to fitting room 18 (1 room, 2 bridesmaids) and walks away. So we pull the ones we thought we might like and head off. After I've tried on one she comes over and gives us a second change room at our request. From there on it was trial and all error. We would explain what we liked/ didn't like about a dress, our attendant would make a suggestion and come back, eventually, with something even more off base from what we asked for. Too heavy? She brought a heavier one. Nothing one shouldered? Another one shoulder. Sizes were brought at random with no regard for our actual size, no explanation (Was it the only size? Who knows.). I'm still not sure they use panels. The only time we saw a clip was when the bride asked for one because the eyehook and the super were broken on a dress. The icing on the cake was when she brought us a jumpsuit instead of a dress. At least we were able to have quite a laugh at that. At one point when our bride was starting to have enough of the long dresses we kept being forced into she gently reminded our attendant that we wanted high-low or short. The reponse was "Oh! You'd be open to a high-low??". (Again we said that at the start....). Despite that we were still brought long dresses. Eventually we feel ourselves starting to get frustrated and settle. We go back to the very first dress we pulled ourselves, a high-low. We contemplated it for a bit all while being told that if we walked out without it we'd likely not get a dress as we need them ready for the end of July. To our questions on order times we are told that they'll rush them if they can buy we'll have to fudge the wedding date to make head office see it as more urgent. Still debating, because let's face it we were getting worried by the doom and gloom and ready to settle, the manager heads over our way. At this point we are handed the same "buy now or regret everything" speech. We finally snap to and decided that we needed to keep looking. The tension was tangible at this point and it was very obvious that our attendant was going to hear about it for not closing the sale. Today we were still debating giving it a second chance until I had to head back for a necklace I'd left in the fitting room. I walked in and two attendants were helping another woman. Ironically they couldn't find her bride's information either. One attendant rather rudely greeted me. I explained that I had forgotten my necklace but called and was told it would be waiting for me. The less pleasant attendant quickly searched a drawer and promptly told me it wasn't there. The second attendant was far more amicable. She went up to the registers to take a look and upon coming up blank came back to ask me who I had spoke to last night. She came back to search the originally "searched" drawer, actually pulled a few items out and thankfully there was my necklace. A mark of how frustrated I was, I left a necklace from Tiffany&Co in a fitting room.... So needless to say that while we don't have our dresses we also won't be settling for ANYTHING from David's Bridal and highly recommend you do not either. Save your time and money to go somewhere where you'll have a great experience or even just a good one. You'll have neither at David's Bridal. read more

I had an apt booked at the store. My lady was very unexperianced and clearly did not enjoy her job. As she showed me dresses (repeating the style i clearly said i wasnt interested in) my friend and myself could tell she was getting annoyed and started being super short. She said to my girlfriend when i wasnt around saying my choice was out of style and being super snotty about me saying no. What does she care?! I left and bought a dress somewhere else, the next store i went to was amazing... they had more options and the ladies were excited for me! read more

I was there with a bride, on a Saturday a few weeks ago and the experience was terrible. The consultant was running around dealing with multiple brides, we had to help our friend in to the dresses. The change rooms were tiny, with no mirror inside and some chairs in the middle of a bunch of change rooms with guests trying to find a place to sit. The selection wasn't great, the atmosphere abysmal, and the service terrible. It was a terrible experience for the bride. We left there and went to West Edmonton Mall and got way better service at a few stores there even though we didn't have an appointment. read more

The bridal party I was with purchased our dresses through David's Bridal. After being measured the woman insisted I order a size 8.... I am 5'1" 110pds. I typically wear a XS/S or 2-4. They almost zipped up the 2 that I tried on in store (the next sample size they had was a 12) so I was pretty persistent at trying to have them order me at least a 6, though I felt that the 4 would have fit no alterations necessary. They kept saying things like, oh your chest is larger than the 6, your hips are larger than the 4. Needless to say it was a money grab for them. They didn't let up and ordered the 8.... they took it in as much as possible and it was still too large for me. When I complained about the size ordered the alterations people kept making me feel as though I was expecting it to fit too tight and said things like I didn't want back fat spilling over it....trust me that's not the look I was going for, I was looking to feel confident and fitted in my now $300 dress. Once I got it down to Mexico and wore it the day of the wedding it was literally slipping off of me all day. The inside layer kept catching at my breasts, due to the humidity, and showing overtop of the very cute sweetheart neckline while the rest would slide down....so I spent the day hiking up my dress. Of course there were no complaints the day of because it was a wonderful day, spent with amazing people as I watched two very special people in my life get married but had they not been looking for a quick way to make a buck I would have felt much more comfortable in my dress. So ladies...keep an eye out for this quick scheme. read more

Extremely disappointed that I ordered some bridesmaid dresses and then they kept calling me to pick them up because they told me they cannot store it in the store for more than 7 days. Plus it is ridiculous that if the only alteration you require is the hemline that they cannot order it in a custom length and you have to pay for alterations. read more

David's bridal seemed the the best place to buy my wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses since my cousin had gone there and had no problems. My experience was not as good however, the consultant was super nice but very busy and put me in a dress $500 over my budget, she apologised for being distracted, of course thats the dress i fell in love with and ended up buying. Living 2hrs away and having to pick the dress up when they tell you to or they send it back was not a pleasant extra trip, and because it was out of my budget i went to a private tailor to get my alterations done, which was $300 cheaper but then davids bridal refused to do the free steaming thats included in the purchase because they cant touch the dress after someone else has altered it. We did not buy our bridesmaid dresses here but another friend is getting married in a month did and they've lost and misplaced and got all there sizes wrong. I love my wedding dress and made the best of the situation but for a wedding shop they should be a little more on the ball. read more

The dress appointment was great couldn't have asked for a better consultant bought my dress that same day. I called about three months ago to find out when I needed to book my alterations appointment and they told me to call back two months before we leave for our wedding I did as I was told today... they cannot get me in until august!!!!! my wedding is in JULY! That is the worst service I have ever had, they completely lied to me!!! Now I am left to find my own alterations without so much as even a recommendation to someone who does wedding dress alterations! Anyone getting married I would recommend paying more for the dress because although the prices are good they leave you high and dry as soon as the dress is purchased. read more

As a plus sized woman I had some doubts about going wedding dress shopping at David's. Sure, the sales rep on the phone said that they had lots to choose from, but I had been burned before at other appointments in other shops. I'm sure that I was not the ideal customer to have considering that when the sales gal asked me if I was excited to be shopping for my dress I said an emphatic "NO!" Undeterred, she asked why I wasn't and I told her that I seriously doubted she could help me find a plus size dress. Unfazed she went to the back and started pulling dresses. She was efficient and I appreciated her time. Another sales associate even came to help. While I was intrigued by some of the dresses, I mentioned that I had found a dress at another boutique that was my perfect dress, but not at my preferred price. The appointment time was running out so with that, the sales associate pulled one last dress - and it was the base model of my dream dress - for a whopping $500.00 less. I couldn't believe it. I was stunned, as were my friends after I was able to show them the images of the two dresses side by side. All in, a bit of bling here and there to add to the base dress to jazz it up would not amount to the $500 price difference of my dream dress. I was thrilled and will be ordering my dress soon from David's. read more

I had a great experience with the lady who helped me pick out the dress I bought . I was very sure about what I wanted showed her two pictures of the gown and she was spot on . It was very satisfactory service . I made the appointment ,went that very day and being precise about what I wanted came out of the shop in one and half hour. read more
