This was my 3rd time here as a bridesmaid and i will never ever again in my life step foot in a davids bridal store. The first wedding i was in they forgot to order 2 dresses so we had to pick an entire different dress. The 2nd time they wouldn't refund us our money or do anything for us when 4 bridesmaids dresses came out crooked! Now the 3rd time in a wedding not only was the customer experience horrible and the woman who helped us didn't listen to what we wanted. She kept trying to get us to buy a more expensive gown, but after receiving our dresses they had stains, glitter, and pulls as well as ripping in the gown with the beading falling off. While the store manager and stylist were very helpful and polite when I went into the store, the alterations seamstress Julia was disgustingly rude and horrid on the phone. My maid of honor received a text from Julia stating that her dress would not be ready for pick up on the agreed date, and it would only be available to pick up September 17th. We will be out of state that weekend for the bachelorette, so its not an option. I called Julia to try and make this work, and she immediately started yelling at me and berating me because I introduced myself as the bride and she immediately cut me off. After many rude and disgusting statements such as "what is your problem", "I Don't know what to tell you", "what do you want from me", and "so the dress finished 2-3 weeks before your wedding isn't good enough for you???". I finally snapped back when I tried explaining that I understand being short staffed and overwhelmed as I used to be a stylist myself for the company, and I have a family member who has been with the company for years so I get it, she YELLED at me "and I've been here for 22 years so what is your point???" She then stated that if we cannot pick up the dress 9/17 she will not work on it at all. So now its ok for alterations to threaten brides with that? I informed Julia that I would be coming in the following day to retrieve the dress on behalf of my maid of honor since Im being treated this way, and then her attitude changed. When I came in today around 11am to retrieve the dress, the store manager and stylist were very helpful, kind, and apologetic. However, perhaps Julia needs to take a leave of absence if she cannot handle being short staffed to regroup and relax instead of verbally abusing customers. Its hard enough being a Covid bride, to be verbally abused and threatened to not complete the dress at all and cause more stress and anxiety is unacceptable, and this location should be ashamed. If anyone needs have alterations from DB, I highly recommend the Totowa location. The alteration staff all around is friendly and kind unlike Freehold. I am now having my bridesmaid party of 7 cancel all of their alterations and go to Totowa or a private seamstress for alterations since Freehold isn't deserving of the money and time. Again, the store manager was lovely as well as the stylist, but something needs to be done about the way Julia treats customers. To add further, there is still no answer as to why the dress was sitting FOR 7 WEEKS without anything being done to it. The professional and right thing would be to not take anymore alterations if they are backed up. I now have to hope and pray this dress is done in time for my wedding elsewhere, because its obvious Julia had no intention of doing it at all. read more

I have multiple experiences with this David's Bridal, but my most recent experience was yesterday. The woman at the front desk informed me they were very busy and she would see if they could find an empty room for me to try on a bridesmaids dress. They were super accommodating and got me in and taken care of within 5-7 minutes upon arriving, despite my appointment being scheduled for 45 minutes later. Both the woman at the front and the associate who assisted me in trying on the dress were so friendly and helpful. They absolutely made the experience simple and in the mess that can be bridesmaid shopping, I am super thankful for that. read more

I had the best experience at this store! My consultant, Jessie was super helpful and patient! I went twice, once with a friend and the second time with my family. She pulled out different styles for me to try on and I ended up falling in love with a mermaid style bridal gown! So, she glammed me up with all the accessories and I knew it was THE dress. I definitely recommend going to David's Bridal, they always have deals going on so I got my dress on sale! I went into the store with the mindset that I was only looking around for dress styles that worked for me since I have so long before my wedding (10/13/19). When we met Pattie she was super welcoming and asked what I was looking for and she brought in some options. I tried on maybe 4 or 5 dresses but there was something about the second one I tried on that made me want to put it back on. Pattie added a belt and a veil and that was it! So glad I got my wedding dress else where. However, what a miserable experience for my bridesmaids. You go in saying you have a budget and they show you dresses completely out of the price range and don't even offer you the best discount possible, to the point that you get in the car go on the Davids Bridal Website and realize you got ripped off. Then they don't tell you all sales final until you're signing the receipt. They roll their eyes at the register when you try to use a coupon. Have looked at bridesmaid dresses here three times, every time with different sales people and not one had an ounce of customer service skills. Will never go back. I purchased a beaded dress for my daughter's wedding. The dress itself was almost $400. I ordered the dress because the sample dress was losing beads. I made an appointment with alterations. The dress is a low back with a deep plunging neck with mesh at the cleavage. The dress was falling off my shoulders once it was zipped & the sleeves were a tad baggy. I asked the seamstress to tighten the sleeves & if she could add a liner behind the mesh to give a little coverage at my cleavage. She told me it was impossible to add anything to the cleavage as it would "alter the appearance of the dress". Considering I'm the customer & paying for the alterations shouldn't I decide if I want to alter the appearance of the dress. I also pointed out that a lot of beads & sequins were falling off as I tried the dress on. She told me "that happens". $200 later for the alterations, the dress is still falling off my shoulders, no fabric at the cleavage & the reason the beads are coming off in droves is because the threads are unraveling. I ended up sewing an additional eye & hook on top of the zipper as well as adding a piece of liner at the cleavage (& no it didn't change the appearance of the dress). I would never purchase a dress from this store again. Save your money on alterations there as it seems they are lazy and apparently not adept at their job. read more

I had a wonderful experience with David's Bridal. I went here first to try on dresses thinking it was a good place to get my feet wet. I tried on a bunch of dresses and after going to two other places came back and said yes to my dress. My consultant Danielle was great helping me into all of the gowns and also great at choosing things for me to try on. The store manager, Janet, is absolutely amazing! Every time I was in the store from purchase, to pick-up, to fittings, to final take-home, she was always there to help with a smiling face. She goes out of her way to make sure that the brides feel special and everything is perfect and stress- free. PLEASE READ NERVOUS BRIDES! My wedding was canceled. Ah! I know what you're thinking, nightmares right? I just had one of the best experiences at this David's Bridal with Janet & a hug that I had so very much needed. I'm sitting in my car with happy tears that I haven't had in a long time. Since my wedding was canceled, trying to return things, get back anything lost has been crazy but it's life..I'm keeping my wedding gown that I bought from here because I love it & had a great experience with Danielle. My bridesmaids also got their dresses here, I bought one of my girl's dresses here that had to be ordered & not set to come in until a month before my wedding date. David's Bridal was willing to refund me for her dress since it was still on order & had not been in hand. After a phone transfer to the wrong store, a rep told me the refund couldn't be done over the phone. So I drove to the store (about 30 min) and met Janet, Janet was so kind & did the refund for me, as well as called the other store to do it. She was so comforting & sweet, even though I'm no longer getting married, I feel so good looking at my wedding gown knowing it was from people that care. Who knows, time I'll tell, maybe I'll wear it at some point..but I feel so good today after that, I really needed that hug. Just left the store about an hour ago. Unfortunately we left empty handed, before we left we planned on purchasing 3 brides maids dresses. I'm not sure what our assistants name was considering the manager,Jennifer, was calling for her to do other things every 4-5 mins. When I showed up Manager Jennifer seemed less than excited to see us, I didn't expect a standing ovation, but a friendly smile would have helped. Our assistant was extremely nice, but very over whelmed as her manager would call for her left and right. Either way we looked past it and carried on with our final selections. We walked to the front to give our assistant the dress sizes, colors and style and the manager rudely cut off our conversation to tell her to jump on the register because people are waiting, when I say rude, I mean RUDE, mid-conversation throws her hand in between us and our assistant. For whatever reason our assistant could not do the register so Manager Jennifer said ok I'll do the register you go get jewelry boxes as we stood 2 feet away still seeking our assistants help. I understand the retail industry, what happened was unexpected and unacceptable. I feel terrible the girl will not get commission for all the running she did, but I also won't stand around while Jennifer has a mini melt down because 2 people are in line. I don't see how our assistant will ever be able to make a living of commissions working there when she can't focus on one job because her manager calls on her constantly and then after an hour of working with us is completely rude and we leave. Poor customer service! Went with my daughter to browse prom dresses. As soon as we walked through the door we were yelled at by a woman who I think was a saleswoman to sign in and state our purpose for coming in. She proceeded to say that we could browse but would not be permitted to try dresses on until we were called/approached by a salesperson (which was fine). She was very unfriendly to put it nicely. Her tone and demeanor was off putting. We also witnessed her yelling to other customers coming in as well (glad it just wasn't us). Upon browsing we found other sales people to be very rude and unfriendly. I'm glad my daughter didn't find a dress she liked, I didn't want to give this store business. Perhaps there are other employees there that are willing to provide good customer service, but we didn't find one today! read more

I want to start of by saying if I could give this store 0 stars, I would. It does not even deserve the 1 it's getting from me. On July 28th I went to David's Bridal with my mom to try on wedding dresses. I saw this one dress, which was two pieces and so beautiful, that I knew I would love if I tried it on. The only problem with the dress was that it was very dirty with makeup stains, and all the button loops on the top were broken. When I asked the sales woman to try the dress on she said to me that she'd forgotten they even had that dress. She said something along the lines of, "oh we only use the bottom of this dress to put over other dresses to show brides what their dress would look like with a fuller bottom." That kind of annoyed me seeing as I liked the dress, but I ignored her and tried it on anyway. As soon as I looked in the mirror I knew it was my dress and how lucky was I that it was on sale for $550?! My sales woman found a rose gold belt and headpiece that matched my engagement ring and put a veil on me. I decided I wanted all of it. It was the perfect package. Unfortunately, it was the only dress of its kind left in the entire country. I had to buy the floor model. We made a deal with the manager on duty that my dress would be cleaned and the buttons would be fixed before I picked the dress up. Fast forward about a month, I received an e-mail from David's Bridal stating that my veil, headpiece, and belt had come in and I had 7 days to pick them up. I gave them a call and asked if my dress was ready as well because I was not going to drive to Freehold to pick up the accessories, I wanted it all at once. The women on the phone had no idea what I was talking about and transferred me back to alterations. I was not getting my dress altered so of course alterations had no idea what I was talking about either. It took a couple of tries, but finally someone there said my dress was not yet ready and they'd call me when it was.... About two weeks later I get a phone call from someone to tell me about the bridesmaids dress sale they were having. I asked her if MY dress was ready yet, never mind bridesmaids dresses and she, not surprisingly, had no idea what I was talking about again. I was then put on hold for a while and transferred to alterations! Who told me, you guessed it, my dress was not ready and they'd call me when it was. The next day I got a phone call from the same woman who called me the day before to tell me my accessories were in. At this point now I'm annoyed. I told her she called me yesterday and that the last time I spoke with someone about the accessories I told them that I'd pick everything up at the same time. She said she wasn't aware I got a phone call the day before since no one noted it in my file. SHE WAS THE ONE WHO CALLED ME! I asked again if my dress was ready. I was put on hold for over 8 minutes before someone else came to the phone and said "David's Bridal how can I help you?" I thought they had to be joking with me. Like honestly, was this real? The woman who picked up put me on another brief hold and said "Yes your dress is here!" I told her I was coming to pick it up and then she said "Wait, it's not here yet, it's on the truck and will be here Friday." Weird. I told her I'd be in Sunday then to pick it up since I'd be in the area. On Sunday when I walked in the woman at the front desk, I wish I knew her name so I could complain about her on a personal level but all I know is that she is older and has an accent, was the rudest human being I have ever come in contact with, told me that all that was there for me was my veil, headpiece, and belt. I told her I spoke with someone on the phone on Thursday and they told me my dress was in. She said "All that's here for you is..." and I said "Do not read me that list again of the things here for me get me your manager." If her eyes rolled any further into the back of her head they would have gotten stuck. I explained what happened to Jennifer, the operations manager, who is the only person there I cannot complain about, and she went back to alterations to see if my dress was there. She came back up front, said my dress was there, walked us to the back, and told us it would be a few minutes. After about 15 minutes of literally standing in the back room by ourselves, we asked her what was taking so long. She told us she didn't like how the buttons came out and they were redoing them for me. Then she brought me in to try on my dress... The buttons did not line up and the dress was WET from them trying to clean it right then and there while I waited! FOR OVER A MONTH MY DRESS SAT THERE WITH THEM DOING NOTHING TO IT AND AFTER MULTIPLE PHONE CALLS TO MULTIPLE DIFFERENT PEOPLE NOT KNOWING WTF I WAS TALKING ABOUT I WENT TO PICK UP MY DRESS THAT THEY TRIED TO GET AWAY WITH FIXING WHILE I STOOD THERE. We got a full refund and I walked out of the store with no dress and hysterically crying. PLEASE DO NOT SHOP HERE EVER! read more

Had an appt for mother of the groom dress for my sister. Consultant was nice for the first 10 minutes while pulling dresses. She put us in a dressing room and disappeared. Never came back to check on us. I had to go out and pull other dresses. She appeared to be working with a bridal party. However, we had an appt. we spend 40 minutes in the dressing room looking up other dress places to go to and never once did anyone check on us. whatever you do, DO NOT GO TO THIS DAVID'S BRIDAL LOCATION. the worst customer service I've ever experienced in my life. everyone working was incredibly rude. me and my bridal party left laughing because it was so ridiculous. we actually liked some dresses but i won't order them now because it will remind me of the terrible experience i had. they gave me and my bridal party a hard time the whole time we were there. they couldn't figure out that we had an appointment, they couldn't figure out what sales person was helping us, 10 people asked us if we were being helped. the managers were worse than the regular employees there. i got nasty responses and runaround answers to simple questions and me and my party weren't being rude at all. everyone was super pushy trying to sell us on things after we said we couldn't buy that day because it was the first time we were even looking. they kept saying we had to order thing early because it might take a long time to ship it, so i asked how long it would take for a certain dress and they wouldn't give me a straight answer, would only tell me it could be anywhere between 2-32 weeks. not helpful at all. i liked a dress that wasn't labeled as a bridesmaid dress and they were super judgmental of it, saying it was too sexy. not their business! my sister had a dress on and we were talking about the fit of it and the sales woman kept touching my sister where a stranger shouldn't touch another stranger! she was very uncomfortable. i hope this location closes because it doesn't do any business, it's horrible. read more

Christine listened specifically to what I was asking for and listened to my feedback with each dress. I didn't feel rushed and we went during the day on a Friday, without an appointment. The owner was also really helpful and kept the appointment moving. Already made an appointment to go back before the huge sale ends. I've been to another salon where I felt judged for my budget, uncomfortable and pressured to spend a certain amount of money and I'm happy to say I felt comfortable staying within my budget at this David's Bridal and there were so many options. read more

Got our bridesmaid dresses from David's bridal in freehold. When we went for alterations each bridesmaid got charged a different price for hem. When I asked the seamstress why I got charged one price and the other bridesmaid got charged other prices she stood still. She then said she accidentally miscalculated after getting very nervous. When picking up the dresses they were not pressed so they had to repress them. They are not timely either. Some of the sales reps definitely were helpful and the one manager (Liz I believe) understood the frustration I had and was willing to help. Overall it is convenient for bridesmaid dresses but may not be worth the headache . read more

I came in the second time without any appointment bc I happened to be in the area, and they were happy to accommodate (walked in an hour before they closed, to say the least). I was simply a bride trying to find "the dress".. Followed by trying to find my bridesmaids dresses. My David's Bridal experience started at the Mays Landing location. I made my appointment to find my wedding dress and it did not go well at all tried on a bunch of dresses but I felt as though the consultant was not listening to what I wanted and continued to bring me dresses I didn't like, wouldn't let my family that I had brought with me go through the dresses to find one for me. ( they actually got yelled at) Finally she ended with "well I don't want to waste your time, go online and look up dresses then come back." They gave me a catalogue to pick out dresses from but every one I picked they didn't have in the store. She didn't even set me up right to try on dresses, I wore the bra I had on and was even told "oh you can leave your jeans on" ( I didn't know I was going to wear jeans under my wedding dress on my wedding day but hey you're the professional) So, after feeling very discouraged and a bother to the consultant, I left. Made the appointment for my bridesmaids to get dresses at this same location, that was awful, I picked out dresses for them to try on. (3 dresses) because the consultant had something to say about every other dress I picked out. How was I supposed to pick the right dress for them only after seeing some of the girls in the dress, we were shoved over to 3 dressing rooms for 9 girls, while another party had plenty of rooms for the girls, had them all lined up smiling and laughing. There were no smiles or laughter on my side I felt rushed to pick the dress the consultant had picked to the point that she had put everything into the computer and was rushing them to pay up front. So after feeling like I had been treated not so "bride-like" and that this was a happy time, I called David's bridal in Freehold, they said they were a bigger store and could get me in that day for an appointment. I went in, told the consultant basically thank you but I can't pick the dress after only seeing some of the girls in 3 dresses (even my party was not happy with the way they were treated). We rushed up to the Freehold location which is an hour or so away from me. From the moment I walked in the door I could feel how different it was. I checked in with the woman upfront and she said "if you'd like to start looking someone will be right over with you." We starting looking and then our consultant Constance come over to us! She was amazing!!! She would have let these girls try on every dress in the store she was helpful, fun, funny, had us all laughing and smiling and most importantly my fiancé and I finally happy about this experience. She made sure to get ever girls size so they could all try the same dress on at the same time! Needless to say we got our bridesmaids dresses at this store and walked out with a huge weight off our shoulders and smiles on our faces! I made my appointment there to look for my wedding gown that following weekend, and was met by Constance again. I was super excited to be working with her again!!! We went through all the dresses on the racks and pulled out the ones I liked, she pulled dresses she liked, my mother and sister pulled dresses, it was great. Then it came to the moment of truth, trying them on! She said to me " I only want to hear the word LOVE!" So, she had me all set with the bra, and the crinoline, and we started trying them on. I went through about 10 no's before I found "the dress" and even after saying I loved it she let me try on a few others that I wanted to try on just to be sure but it always went back to the dress I said I loved. She tried different headpieces and veils until I found the right ones! I walked out getting everything I needed!! I was so excited and thrilled that this was actually a great experience. I came to David's Bridal looking for a wedding dress with my mom and sister. It was our first time wedding dress shopping, so I really didn't think we'd possibly find THE ONE our first try. We were really just browsing styles and fabrics. We walked in, without an appointment, and were greeted and taken care of immediately. Our consultant, Jordan, was fantastic! He listened to what I was looking for, asked what I liked, didnt like and always had more options waiting for me. The first dress he brought was the one. My experience with David's Bridal was a positive one because of my consultant. My budget was low and I had seen a lot of sale price dresses on the website that I was excited to try on, but most of them were no longer available in this particular store so I was pretty disappointed. I wasn't wowed by the look of the store either - kind of dated and dingy looking. But my consultant was Patty, and she was fantastic. She was respectful of my budget and while she showed me some accessories, I never felt pressured to purchase anything. It felt like she listened to what I wanted and made an effort to find a dress that made ME happy , which I appreciated since my mom and I disagreed on which dress was the one. I ended up purchasing a gown that I loved at an affordable price, and I was so grateful for Patty's help! read more

So today I said yes to the dress!!! I couldn't be happier with the dress I picked out or my consultant. When I called two weeks ago to make an appointment to come in. I stumped them by asking which consultants understand and are comfortable dressing a plus size bride. I was giving a generic answer that all the consultants are equipped with the knowledge of dressing every shape and size. I went to my first appointment myself as if I was going to have a panic attack I sure didn't want to do it in front of friends or soon to be sister in laws. So I walked in and was greeted by Janet the store manager. I told her I was there for my appointment and she pointed me to the wedding dress side. She could sense my apprehension and quickly tried to put me at ease. The way they get you a consultant seems to be like who ever is up next. I got paired with Noelle. I was straightforward in telling her I really don't want to be there but I can't get married in jeans. I am uncomfortable in a dress and and I am on the verge of tears and a panic attack because I don't think I will find anything. Noelle was quick to reassure me that we will find something. To not panic and she was there if I needed anything. We pulled a few dresses just to get a size point and a style that I liked. After the second or third dress I started to relax each time I came out. She reassured me that everything was okay. I looked beautiful and we will find something then I put on THE dress and something clicked for the first time in a wedding dress I was smiling. I couldn't contain myself. Noelle brought the veil to match and I knew it was the one. We tried on more just to get a feel of different styles and she was very honest and gave me her opinion which I was thankful for. She wrote down the two that I narrowed down from the ten that she brought me. She was always so nice and kind bringing all the dresses in my wish list. Zipping me up. Unraveling my train. Fixing the veils. She gave me her number so we can set up a time that worked best to come back in. Through many texts back and forth we set up for me to come back in today, as this was the only day I could do for awhile. She was off today and made a special trip in just for me. She already had my dress and veil in a fitting room brought shoes to get a full look. I couldn't contain myself that was my dress. Noelle treated me each interaction like I was an old friend. She was kind. She had such patience and knew how to talk me out of my fears. My dress is ordered once it comes in I will go for alterations and that will be another review. For people reading reviews take this away with you. Brides are at their most stressed finding a dress. They want to feel like they are the center of the universe. David's Bridal is a business more people they see throughout the day more money that comes in. Same with their consultants which is a fancy word for salesperson. That is their job to sell you on items. The matching veil. Jewelry. Shoes. When did saying no thank you I'm good become a hard task. You don't want a particular item don't get it. That simple. But if anyone did get through me rambling. I highly recommend David's Bridal in Freehold and I highly highly (highly written twice on purpose) recommend Noelle as their consultant. read more

My first visit to this store was very stressful and overwhelming for me. I didn't think I was getting the best service and I made a rash decision about a dress. I visited the store again today and my experience was completely different. Patty, my consultant, took her time and made sure she showed me dresses that fit my style. She was patient and friendly. I'm very happy I made a return visit and didn't base the one experience on my overall opinion of this business. Even though it was extremely busy there today Patty still made me feel valued and that my business was appreciated. Future Brides-- go see Brenda at David's in Freehold, you will not be disappointed! She is not only friendly and eager to find the right dress, but she has a great eye for what will look great on you. I was worried going in as a plus-sized bride that they might not have something that looked right or that I might not be treated like a bride should be. I was so wrong. All of the ladies working there were extremely helpful and Brenda actually ended up finding THE DRESS for me! It was not even close to what I thought I would end up getting but as soon as I walked out of the dressing room and saw it on me I knew it was the dress for me. Diane was amazing. She was so patient with me, let me go back and forth trying on dresses several times, and helped me pick the dress of my dreams. She even convinced me to wear a vale which was something, going into it, I was highly against. My experience at the Freehold store was wonderful. I was looking for a semi formal dress for my teenage daughter and dreaded the mall scene. I decided to try David's Bridal expecting to pay top dollar for a dress. When we arrived we were assigned Jackie as our consultant. She was fabulous! She was attentive, enthusiastic and incredibly patient. We tried on a dozen dresses or more and she never lost her determination or interest in finding the perfect dress for my daughter. She was just as wonderful when it came to finding shoes and jewelry. On top of it all the dress was so reasonably priced.
