We had an appointment for my daughter to simply browse wedding dresses. We started months early, anticipating that finding the perfect dress would take months. Most of her wedding party had already arrived, and we knew she was quite picky, and we were also on a budget so we were prepared for a challenging search. We didn't Plan on leaving that day with a dress and actually had an appintment at another bridal store after this one on the same day. However, we were completely wrong. Mackenzie, our stylist, was incredible from the start. She helped the bridesmaids find dresses and different styles to begin with, and then it was the bride's turn. She tried on a few dresses, and they were all beautiful, but none of them felt like "THE ONE". Mackenzie then suggested that we show her a "wild card" dress. A "wild card" dress is a fabric or style that we had not shown interest in, something we may not have thought of or imagined. It was a brilliant idea! My daughter walked out of the dressing room, and soon after, Taylor Swift's "Love Story" began to play. She looked in the mirror and started crying tears of joy. Our entire party was crying, and so was Mackenzie, our stylist! It was simply kismet. I will always be grateful for this beautiful day we shared and the moment I first saw the love and joy in my daughter's eyes. I stopped by today and I'll just say it wasn't a "comfortable or welcoming" visit. We walked in and started to browse in the bridal section (I'm getting married) and no one approached us after maybe 10 min so we went to ask for help and they said "we'll send someone over" well after another 5 min someone approached us. One of the first things was "do you have an appointment" we weren't aware we needed one. Which we told them sorry we weren't aware of this, and asked if we can schedule one for same day. Before she answers she snatched the dress I had in my hands and went to hang it back up. And says we can't be seen till 3pm because no one could help us (keep in mind we are literally the ONLY customers in the entire store) we agreed to come back at three and we had other shops we wanted to browse at anyways so well had some things to kill some time, so no biggie. Anyways we go to leave and we say bye and no one even looks up from their phone. They don't say anything back. It just wasn't a welcoming or friendly feeling. Not a place I want to spend my money. They only give you 30 days to return the dress. I am unfortunately 40 days late to return the dress I didnt pick it up until after 1/11/2025 so it 35 days since i picked it up but there was a death in the family and I had to leave state and when I came back it was too late to return. This company does not care if you have something that is more important than returning a dress like your grandfather's funeral. They make no exceptions and are very careless. No sympathy nothing then the lady on the phone with the response of well your too late so its not possible to return. I would never recommend this place because god forbid you have something more important to address then returning a dress in 30 days. Honestly it should be 60 days because life happens. She asked me questions about who I am and what my style was, and I showed her a picture of what I was leaning towards, and she assured me that she would knock it out the park. She was so attentive attention to listen to everything that I liked about the dress, but I didn't like about the dress Gave me food for thought and I just really felt like she genuinely cared about how I felt in my dress how I was gonna look for my family. I believe that her store manager was rushing her but she really didn't make me feel like I was being rushed, she made me feel like she was gonna take care of all of my needsand wanted to address but I want to say a lot of it had to do with your sales person. Really mixed feelings about my experience. My dress was beautiful but beware. You get one hr to pick out what's likely the most important dress of your life. So it's a little like a Chinese fire drill. That being said the issues were after I got my dress home and realized how wrinkled it was. It has about 4 layers of tulle and the bottom Was all bunched together and basically never really straightened out. I spent $600 on alterations. You'd think I wouldn't have to steam my dress myself when I got it home. Very upset. Then mosquitoes were all up In the netting and I was picking them out before my ceremony. Additionally we had issues with the aisle runner and I have multiple holes in the bottom where I'm Guessing my heel went. Anyway the dress is so bunched up On the bottom I don't see how it will ever be straightened out. Wanted to do donate the dress but I think it's ruined. Worst experience with a store/company/store representativesin my life. The consultant sold the entire wedding party a discontinued dress. They sold it to me at a size they knew would not fit. I ordered what they told me. When it obviously would not zip up, I contacted customer service. They informed me that the gown that they sold me in the first place was discontinued and that my size was no longer available. I was sent the dress back and was told that I would receive alterations for free. Cut to when I went in for that appointment. One of the alterations ladies was extremely rude to me and said that they would not alter the gown as it was "not possible". She essentially body shamed me for having a gown that was two sizes too small and did not believe me when I informed her that it was this store that made the mistake. A manager then told me that they would try to fix it, but would not honor the free alterations. I was forced to pay. The only good that came out of this 9-month-long ordeal was that corporate honored what I was originally told. I have never felt so disrespected or demeaned a company in my entire life. This was my very first experience in a bridal boutique, and I can say with complete confidence that I will never shop at this location again, and I will make sure to inform my friends and family to never shop here. If you respect yourself or want a good experience with a bridal shop, go somewhere else. Update: I contacted the alterations department and was yelled at by the woman answering the phone (Carol), and I was told that they "did not call to confirm pick-up alterations appointments". Seeing as one of their employees told me they did, they're either incredibly inept at doing their jobs or they don't care for their customers. Then someone booked me the incorrect appointment and tried to deflect it. When I called the store to ask why they could not make my appointment on the correct day, the customer service representative tried to victim blame me for everything that had happened to me. They have assured me that my appointment on Saturday will be smooth-sailing, and I will be documenting every second of my visit because this company does not care about what I experience with them. I now have a corporate agent who is documenting absolutely everything. I do not expect anything to be done, and I expect to be humiliated and cry after this appointment as well. Update: I did go to that appointment and was treated as I should have been from the start. They made sure that my dress fit well and apologized for my previous experiences. It's sad that I had to complain several times to be treated like a human being. I was refunded partially for my dress as well. However, when the store manager called and apologized to me, she did not sound like she meant it and I was disappointed that she did not seem to care. The corporate person that contacted me following this review was very helpful. They are a reprehensible company that should not be in the bridal industry. Everyone I have had to deal with through this store is incompetent, rude, and/or mean. My panic attacks and body image issues have resurfaced due to these oIf this is the way they treat a bridesmaid, I shudder to think of how they treat brides. read more

just wanted to share my very bad experience,my wedding dress. i flew in to fort myers to buy my dress, thats where my parents were. was picked out and ordered with the condition it would arrive at the end of June of 2024.of course i paid 1,400.00 dollars in full.then they called said dress would not arrive for another 4 weeks by July 24,that was not going to work cause it needed alterations and they knew all this.wedding date was set for august 17.all this rush order was approved by store manager.i did offer to pay extra for rush order, but they said not necessary.so at last minute i had no dress.manager was very nasty .mind you for alterations you need minimum 3 weeks.so needless to say had to get refund , and rebuy another dress at another bridal store.btw store manager gave me a very hard time to get my refund back.will never shop there AGAIN!!!!!! read more

I made an appointment to try and find a burgundy colored dress for my boyfriend's sister's wedding. I wasn't really offered much assistance, I was directed to the dresses that are available off the rack, not sorted by color or size. It was a wild goose chase trying to find my size and the right color on my own. They didn't really have much variety. I didn't walk out with what I needed, but I went three doors down to Ross and found a beautiful burgundy velvet dress. Where do I even begin! What an amazing experience. I was very nervous to shop for my wedding dress and had been looking at dresses online for almost 6 months. I walked in at 1:30pm and was told I needed an appointment to try on dresses but they made me an appointment for me at 3pm SAME DAY. My stylist Jayquan was AMAZING. She was very attentive and not at all pushy, I felt no pressure to buy right away which I was worried about. I tried on I think 8 or so dresses and after each try-on she asked very good qualifying questions that helped me narrow down what was important, what needed to be added or subtracted from the dress. Her eye for detail was phenomenal as she helped to pick out veils and belts. Her positive energy and helpful nature truly made my experience everything. Her knowledge of the dresses and products was incredible and while I know it's a demanding job (some of those dresses are heavy!) she made it look effortless. I cannot say enough good things about Jayquan. From the start of my appointment to ringing the bell everything was amazing. 10 out of 10! Every other stylist I also interacted with was positive, upbeat and a pleasure to work with. I was also able to try on ALL of the dresses I had put on my wishlist except for the one that I learned had been discontinued. I wasn't expecting that and was very happy with being able to see and try-on all of the different styles. I was extremely satisfied with the wide selection I had to choose from. Lucy was able to help me when I dropped by without knowing I should have made an appointment. I was planning an elopement to take place the following week and I found the perfect dress thanks to Lucy! However, I was disappointed in the alteration department. The dress needed to be shortened by several inches and they scheduled a rush alteration for me. I picked up the dress by appointment 2 days before our ceremony. The hemming of the knit fabric was curling , wavy and appeared stretched out . The seamstress took it back and pressed it to try to improve it. Then she offered to try to fix it as I waited and I agreed. Sadly, there was no improvement and I assumed it was as good as they could do so I took the dress and wore it on my big day . I paid 175 for alterations that I feel actually damaged the dress! Five stars to Lucy and 2 stars to alterations ! I've uploaded pictures of the bottom portion of the dress that was worked on. I was really happy with my experience with David's Bridal, I came in as a Bride's Maid with a bridal party searching for dresses and I received very attentive customer service, the lady helping us zip and unzip and grab new sizes and colors was so sweet and helpful, I loved the selection of dresses and I received the dress I ordered on time... there were some loose strings on my dress and I was encouraged to send it back to get fixed, it was just a hiccup and it was handled very professionally and with ease. They also have the option to get your dress tailored there and I was very pleased with those results as well, no issues with getting the dress on time, in fact I think they might have helped me out and arranged me to get my dress sooner than the proposed date. Not only did they screw up both bridesmaids dresses they screwed up the wedding dress. It took 5 months to get here they scheduled the alterations so close to the wedding of something came up as it did there would be no time to fix said problem. Wedding is in 2 months the dress will take 21 weeks to get here. That math don't add up. They treat you like you are their sister, mother.... family! Denise, the manager is so very special. She has gone above and beyond to make Chelsea feel as if she is the most important bride ever. Erica and Lizzy, our sales people are knowledgeable and equally as terrific. She acted as if she was put out and aggravated the entire time. We knew the moment we met her that she was just a miserable woman. A brides wedding day is one of the most important days and this should be a special experience, and it was far from it. I would stick to a privately owned boutique where you will get the treatment. You deserve as a bride to be. This was like a cattle call. They want you in an out and if there is something you don't like it's obvious how aggravated they become. Lucy should be behind a desk somewhere and not in the public eye. It is apparent that David's bridal is hiring just bodies to fill positions, and that they simply do not care about the customer service they provide. I do not even remember my consultant's name, as she had four other brides that she was working with while "helping" me. I made an appointment, but ended up wandering around the store for almost 30 minutes while waiting. When she finally had time for us, she rushed us around and barely gave any attention. I am a plus-size bride, which is stressful enough, but this pushed me over the edge. My sister helped me more than my consultant, and my consultant basically gave up on me. She patted me on the should and said good luck when I had not found a dress that would fit. I know that it is difficult, but their lack of sensitivity was appalling. I ended up crying in a corner before my mother and sister took me to Alfred Angelo's....where I ended up finding a beautiful dress...and ended up getting my bridesmaids dresses as well! I highly suggest that you do not overlap appointments and stretch your consultants so thin. I will never recommend David's Bridal to ANYONE! read more

My fiancee spent three days there last week trying to find a dress. When the alterations came back later in the week, the seems were all crooked and the dress was way too tight around the body. At that point, all of the salespeople had her try on different bras to make it fit right, but it was no use. Then, the salespeople said that was how it was supposed to fit (even though none of them could even get it zipped up). Between the salespeople changing their story about the dress just to get the sale and the poor, poor alterations, I don't think anyone should go to the Fort Myers store. On the other hand, after much wrangling, they finally replaced the dress with a new one, which will now have to be altered at another David's Bridal closer to home. What a hassle! read more

First time I walked into the doors was fine. They helped me and were very courteous as I tried on different wedding dresses to figure out which one I wanted. But, that was the ONLY time it was a good experience. Second time I went in was for my fitting. I had a size 6 dress, and I bought it about 7 months prior. The girl who got me my slip got the size for a 6, and when it didn't fit, she said "well, then I guess you're not a size 6, huh?" Then I went in for the fitting, and I knew I had gained a little weight around my hips. So the dress wouldn't tie as tight as it was supposed to. So she turns to me and says "you're too big! Your hips are too big! This size isn't your size! You need a bigger size!" And when I said ok, and that it fit when I bought it but it was ok as long as I could get one that fit. She proceeds to comment about how it wasn't tying the way it was supposed to and how I was too "big" for the dress. Then when she realizes I looked somewhat depressed, she goes "oh, but you're beautiful". Yeah, ok. Screw off. Then! Next time I went in when I had the correct size, the same chick did my fitting. Before she started doing anything, she looked at me and said "Are you sure you're going to be able to pay for this? It's going to be about 250, plus with the slip maybe more." Excuse me? No. If I didn't have the money for it I would have gone somewhere else that was cheaper. Do NOT go here. Just don't. If you're looking for a nice place with nice helpful people, this is not the place. They need to hire new people or they need to shut the place down. Not worth it. Wish I didn't pay for the dress and I wish I would have went somewhere else. Don't make the same mistake as me. Again, do not waste your time on this place. read more

When the consultant finally came to us, she was extremely rude. My mother was there for a wedding dress and she pretty much shunned her for not having scheduled an appointment and wouldn't even let her look through the dresses. She didn't even offer to schedule her for an appointment. She told me that she would have someone else help me with my bridesmaid dress. 30 minutes later..... I finally tracked someone down myself to help find a dress from the website. The dresses themselves are in horrible condition. They are truly disgusting and covered with pit stains. I came here as a maid of honor to my best friends wedding dress appointment, and right off the bat we were told her entire party would not be allowed to come back with her. She made the reservation for 7 people and it was confirmed, but the women working informed us because it was an online reservation they weren't able to divulge their in store policy of a limited number of people in the store at a time. Ultimately, they let us come back with her, but would be called back if other shoppers came in. They had her phone number though, so a quick phone call would've cleared that up. Then she was very specific about sticking to her budget, didn't want to go over even a tiny bit, and the first dress brought out to us was $200 over budget. The consultant didn't seem interested in her critiques of the dress and kept bringing out dresses she didn't care for. Also, there's only a 5 dress try on policy, so it was super difficult to picture how a dress would look on her if she didn't want to waste a try on on something she didn't know if she'd like on. Another thing that would've been nice to know before the actual appointment. No one was allowed to look through the racks of dresses either, or even touch merchandise. My daughter purchased a bridesmaid dress from David's Bridal. She went for the fitting and had the alterations done at the same store. When she went to pick up the dress it was butchered!!! The seamstress looked at her and said "who did these alterations? They are terrible!" My daughter said you, Davids Bridal, did. They dress has 2 layers and when they hemmed it they hemmed the front layer shorter than the back. They did not hem it the same length all the way around either. They shortened the straps to the point they were cutting into her shoulders and the hook and eye they put on the front to help keep it closed was crooked. I cannot believe they actually let her leave with this dress!! When she got home and put it on I was in shock. I called the store and spoke with 2 managers who said come back and we will fix it. I said you can't fix this. You can't add material that you cut off!! They wouldn't offer to do anything until we came back to meet with the alteration manager. The bride got involved and they agreed to order another dress and have it shipped ASAP as the wedding is in 2 weeks but my daughter is flying out in a week as it is out of state. Lots of unorganized chaos going on among the employees and not very helpful. I would shop around for bridesmaids dresses before dealing with this location. Limited sizes available in any dress that didn't just come out this season. Also would shop around for alterations. Found several places that would do the hem on the bottom of the dress and a tuck in the back for more then half the price. Worst location!!! This fort Myers David's bridal is out for your money!! Be warned! They wanted me to pay a 400 dollar alterations bill instead of ordering a size smaller. They tried to say the smaller size would not fit "my body type" which is a normally body shape of most women. They would not listen to my mother or me. I took my dress which was TOO big. The next day I called the Tampa location. Who very kindly said if they were going to take more then a inch off the waist more then likely I would fit into a smaller size. So she looked to see who had the correct size. Well we ended up driving 4 and half hours to try on and get the correct size. All because this location which is 20 minutes away from my house REFUSED to help. Women listen to your intuition.
