I wish I had read these reviews before booking an appointment at this location. I have to agree with the other reviewers that the overall experience here is subpar. Strike 1: I came with my maid of honor and bridesmaid to get their dresses. My groom and I had already selected the tuxes from Men's Warehouse which DB and MW advertise their partnership everywhere. I tell the sales person the color we selected for the vests and she says they can't match it unless they have a swatch. Why do you advertise your partnership everywhere if you don't coordinate your colors? I ask if there's anyway she can call them or do they have anything they can cross reference the color with. Nope. (I later found out from MW in Chicago that yes, DB associates can actually call them up and they are happy to assist with color coordination...). Sales associate mentions I can purchase a color swatch for $1 to take to MW though. Ok whatever... Strike 2: So, at the checkout and I'm purchasing both dresses for my girls (well over $300's worth) and I have my card in the reader and I say, "can I get the color swatch?" Sales associate asks me to take out my card so she can add the stupid $1 fabric square to the order....srsly?....how much do you have to spend to get a free scrap of fabric? Just lame. Strike 3: My maid of honor decides she wants to change the size of the dress she ordered. She does her due diligence and tries to call them right away to make the change. She is told that only the manager can change orders. She has to call 3 times (1x/day on 3 consecutive days) to finally get a call back from a manager.... I'm really glad I didn't get my gown here! read more

The dresses were nice but I wasn't told that I would be charged for alterations which was very frustrating and disappointing, $60-75 dollars for just a trim, which I was not informed of when I bought the dress as no staff told me! I was also told shipping was free but when I ordered it they charged me $15, I was very dissatisfied. The staff is beyond incompetent, repulsively dressed, and their lack of knowledge about their own policies is appalling at best. I booked an appt with David's bridal to find my wedding dress. I got a call on Monday to confirm my appt, I confirmed. Then on Friday, the day before my appt they called to confirm again asking for the wrong person, saying that person was booked for my time slot that I had booked days prior to. I let that go, and had high hopes for the day of. I get to the shop, and the people greeting me were super friendly and welcoming, but then it goes bad. They assigned me to a woman I believe was named, Sarah. As soon as I went off with her to start the process the whole mood was changed. I had 4 people with me, and she got so mad that one of them had grabbed an extra chair. Then, fought with me because my file said "gonna be pregnant" at the time of wedding, but I informed her I was already pregnant, and she kept going back and forth that the file wasn't correct. So, I kept going on with the appt. She asked what I wanted, and I told her, but she stated "well what you want won't happen, because everything you want adds money" so she brought me 2 options, of what NOTHING I had asked for. I tried them on, and felt so disappointed because I felt like it was nothing I had described. When I came out, some of my bridal party had started to look for dresses themselves, and as they did she stood behind them telling them all these mean things about me. So, I went and looked at the rack myself, and as I went over to the rack, she was talking about me to fellow coworkers, as I stood right there! I immediately told my whole bridal party we were leaving. This is a day where I'm supposed to feel happy and be excited, but everyone felt the rudeness coming from this lady and wanted to leave. This is not okay! You are hired to make someone feel special on this day, this lady needs to not be working in this department! read more

Not a bad place to shop if you want all similar dresses just with different price tags and colors. Honestly the only thing worth shopping for here is mother of the bride/ grandmother dresses and if you're a guest of a formal wedding. Staff members are rude, especially the short young blonde who wears a sport coat jacket. We were looking at a particular dress, she came up with another customer, said excuse me and pushed me out of the way. I had to wait 5 minutes to get back to the dress I was trying to look at and pull out to try on. Did end up purchasing the dress (that she was in the way for) from another sales guy named Brian. After leaving the store my wife called to speak to one of the managers she was put on hold and then a girl named Alyssa Barker answered the phone and said she was the manager. My wife continue to speak with her and questioned her about their presentation of the two dresses we purchased for our daughters.... when my wife pressed the issue she then said to her "well you can speak to the store manager" my wife then said to her "you just told me you were the store manager when you answered the phone, so I guess you just lied to me!!" So in closing go get your bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses somewhere else do not give this place any money they provide crappy crappy service and they lie to you!!! read more

I'll start by saying I had an appointment. As someone who has never shopped for bridal before, I didn't understand the necessity of an appointment, or why you couldn't just walk in and try on dresses. The reason for that became clear almost immediately. Olivia met me at the entrance, and sat down with me to discuss my upcoming wedding. She was amazing! Olivia totally got my vision after a quick chat, and we were off to a great start! 8 dresses to try on the first round! After trying on all of my choices, she paused and left to go grab JUST one more dress.... She took all of the things I was saying and something clicked! She came back with THE dress... something I never would have thought I wanted, but was perfect in every way! I made an appointment to bring my mom back two days later, again, and tried on some more... saving that one dress for last... That was it! I said yes to the dress and rang that bell! I can't say enough about Olivia... She definitely helped my dreams come true!! It's clear Olivia loves what she does. She listens, and hears you. They ordered me the wrong dress size. Then refused to return it when it came in. They said that I should have returned it a month ago but they were closed for COVID 19!!!!!!!!!!!! Are you kidding me? My sister went to this location about 8 years ago to find her wedding dress and yesterday I went for mine. 8 years later and it looks exactly the same as it did before. There is green carpet, stains on the floors everywhere and the dressing rooms are so tiny. There are some good deals but some of the dresses that I tried on where cheap. read more

We had the best time! We schedule the first appointment of the day (i would recommend, because the store was a little more quiet) We had used the online to pick a couple dress. Upon arriving we were shown to our seats, the bride was asked a few questions and our lady went to find us dresses. What a fun time we had! The lady who helped us would ask questions, what do you like about this dress, what do you not like about it. She looked through clearance for us. Quite possibly one of the worst shopping experiences I've ever had. Associate displayed a complete lack of basic professionalism and suitability to this industry. She was less than thrilled to be working: dressed slovenly, showed up late, didn't really seem to make an effort to understand what I was looking for, was notably not interested in fitting the wedding dresses properly or discussing possible options, she threw thousand dollar dresses on the floor, over the mannequin, stockpiled the discarded dresses in the dressing room or hanging willy nilly by one lingerie hook, making the dresses themselves seem unattractive and cheap. Like dirty old towels. It made _me_ feel cheap and unattractive. Like what was I thinking shopping here?? A wedding dress store is not like a regular retail store, a wedding dress is not like a regular dress or even a regular not retail purchase. It takes knowledge, training, empathy and enthusiasm, none of which were manifested. I've had better experiences buying 99 cent french fries. I left depressed. To be fair, she was probably under-trained, inexperienced and overwhelmed. It happens. It's not her fault. If anything, I would probably fault the management that overbooks associates within their 4 hour shifts (so strange) more than this one isolated employee. Whatever the case, I'm just sad it happened when it was my turn to have a special shopping day and once in a lifetime product. Professional, courteous service. I visited this David's Bridal to exchange a dress. I expected diminished quality of service for the exchange, versus the initial purchase, but that wasn't the case. Sophia was assigned to help me and spent at least 30 minutes with me. She listened to what styles and colors I was interested in and walked around the shop with me. While I tried on dresses she checked in on me three times and got me different sizes and colors. She was polite, kind, and happy. The exchange was no problem and the new dress is gorgeous. I expected another errand, but I left feeling fancy and taken-care-of. I hadn't thought of this store before for regular party dresses (non bridal), but I will definitely go back if I'm looking for something to wear to an occasion. read more

I went into davids bridal looking for a specific gown I saw online. Sadly I was told it was discontinued. I was saddened by this news but my specialist, Lucy helped me through. She asked me specific questions about my big day and we got to work picking out some gowns based on my price range and size. I had my mom pick a couple, Lucy chose a couple and I did as well. I tried on a couple of different styles that didn't fancy my preference but Lucy chose a dress for me to try on and after 4 dresses we slipped into what is the dress that looks like it was made for me.. a Vera Wang wedding gown. We set up an appointment and were promptly greeted. Our helper was very quick to point us in the very specific dress section we asked about. In less than an hour we had what we came for: a formal dress for a black tux event for a reasonable price. I had scheduled and appointment through the David's Bridal website about 2 weeks prior with no issues. I showed up with my audience of 5 to search for my wedding dress. We were promptly greeted at the front door and was introduced to Star, our attendant. She was such a pleasure to work with! She showed us to our dress section and she gave bridal books to my family and friends to review while we went to their huge selection of wedding dresses and began the search. I showed her pictures of what I liked, we talked about what I didn't want, and I also told her my budget. This was my first stop to trying on dresses and I let Star know this, she made me very comfortable and helped calm my nerves. We sorted through the dresses and pulled a few that I would consider, and things that normally I wouldn't have. She definitely pushed my boundaries and helped me keep an open mind during this process which I think every bride-to-be should do. I am happy to report the 4th dress I tried on was the one! After choosing a veil that matched perfectly, I did my bell-ringing ceremony which brought me to tears! Star made the buying experience so incredibly easy and the best I could have hoped for; she was very knowledgeable and helpful to answer our questions and her customer service is 5 stars in my book. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! They are extremely rude and not accommodating at all! The alterations department is very rude! They were 25 minutes late for my appointment when they didn't even have anyone in the room! I was also told that I HAD to wear a specific bra, even when I told them how uncomfortable I was in it. the seamstresses make your dress fittings not fun at all. The bridesmaids dress fitting was just as awful. We went to try On dresses and they kept telling us it fit when clearly, it was was too big. Then, my flower girl paid for her dress only to be told several weeks later that they all of a sudden don't have that one available anymore. Very unreliable!! The only good thing that happened is I actually received the correct veil that I ordered, which was online, not at their store!!! Go so,ewhere else and don't waste your time!!!! read more

I worked with Tammy. She was consultative, warm, and extremely helpful. She took the time to get to know me and asked questions to learn more about my fiance and our wedding. I went in to David's with no clear vision of what I wanted for my wedding gown. After looking through the book, I found it more difficult. Tammy was able to make recommendations based on our conversation and pulled some excellent styles that were flattering for my body type. She also assisted with accessorizing the look with beaded sash, veil, and shoes. Then she took additional time to recommend bridesmaid gowns that would complement my gown. She is a true gem. She didn't make the process feel rushed. Tammy made my mom and I feel welcome and she even cried along with my mom and me when I found "the dress." When we went, it was a busy Saturday. My mom and I witnessed other workers as they pulled dresses for brides. It came across as very robotic and impersonal. I am grateful to have been paired with Tammy. She was awesome, amazing, and genuine. She has a talent for working with people. Her demeanor and caring attitude make the process easy. I cannot recall the individual's name who greeted us. It was a gentleman. We did not have an appointment. He was able to fit us in with Tammy and answered many of our questions. He was warm and welcoming. There was another worker, Asya, who worked in the front and she was friendly, asking about our experience and we shared the dress that we bought. Finally, Beth from alterations was extremely helpful. And friendly. She explained how the process would work and encouraged to call with questions. Finally, she also stated that they could do alterations many different ways making me feel at ease. read more

Two weeks ago I walked into this shop to look for a mother of the groom dress for my sons wedding in June. As soon as I walked in, I walked up to the kiosk and the first thing they asked was, if I had an appointment. When I said no, they said there was no way they could help me!! That they were booked. So I said, well can I at least look? I got the feeling they didn;t want to be bothered anyway. I said I am looking for something in sage green, so the one knucklehead pointed, over there and back there. Couldn;t even walk me over to show me where,over there and back there!! I looked and walked out and will never make an appointment nor would I darken their doorstep again. I just came from a chiropractic appt. and I probably looked frazzled but their customer service skills need quite a bit of work. I was a teller at the bank for years and this customer service left a lot to be desired. Will never ever recommend them, and i tell everybody in every shop I go into about Davids!!!! read more

The shop was fine but Danielle the bitch was so rude to our entire party. She was completely unprofessional and called one of us tipsy and uneducated TO HER FACE. She does not deserve a job in the bridal business or anywhere else. She rushed our bride and only pressured for a sale, not for our bride to feel comfortable or welcome. She completely ruined our experience and if David's Bridal wants to offer good service they would fire Danielle or put her behind the cashier counter at least. I am thoroughly disappointed since I came up with the idea to go to David's Bridal since I had a good experience previously. My daughter was in a wedding in Fort Meyers and the bridal party went to this David's bridal location for their bridesmaid dresses. When they measured her they ordered a size 12, she is not now or never has been a size 12. They told her it was because of her waist that they had to order a larger size. The dress itself was just under $200. When the dress finally came in it was extremely big on her, they pinned it did measurements and gave her an estimate of $250 to alter the dress to make it fit her. When my daughter complained about how big of a size they ordered and how much they had to take it in they said they had no choice. The cost of the alterations was going to be more than the dress cost. Then they said they could order her a smaller size, it just took three months for this dress to come in and they are telling her they can order her a smaller size and the wedding is in three weeks? Does that make sense to anyone? My daughter got upset and left the store took her dress with her. Found another store to do alterations on the dress for $137. That store told her it was ridiculous that they ordered such a large dress for her. Don't go to this David's bridal store! They will rip you off. No one needs that extra stress when planning for a special day. read more

My mom and I went into the store in Ft. Meyers to look for a veil for my dress. No one even acknowledged us when we came in, and the store was filled with a ton of snobby bridezillas. I felt like I was a minority in there as well, as most of the staff (who were hispanic) payed attention to the hispanic customers and ignored us. Finally, when we checked out, the lady at the register asked who had helped us and we told her straight out that no one did or really offered to, we had helped ourselves. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. Horrible experience. We arrived 10 minutes early for appointment (store was closed). The manager unlocked the door In a hooded sweatshirt (hood up) and told us that we needed to wait outside for 10 minutes. Not off to a good start. Our attendant was rude. I have 5 friends/family members with me but she harshly told us that we were only allotted 2 chairs to sit in. Mind you, since we had the first appointment we were the ONLY party in the store. She would not let me or my family walk around and look at the dresses ourselves. She seemed extremely upset and offended that I didn't like any of the dresses she had chosen for me. She asked me to look through a book to find ones that I did like (3 total) but none of the ones I chose were in stock, or had been discontinued. The dresses here are very VERY cheap feeling. Do not get me wrong the people are nice here but I wanted this dress that was in the catalogue and told them to put it on my wish list and they said it would be no problem to get the dress and just tell them i am regeristered with davids bridal. I did explain to them that my bridesmaids were all out of town. A few days later I get a call from my sister in california and she tells me that she can not get this dress in the color that I wanted. They told her they only have another color in stock. I called the fort myers store and they told me that the dress is discontinued and I was very upset she said that I would have to order the dresses quick that night if i wanted that dress. It is hard enought to plan a weddding and I order the dresses may 1,2011 for a november wedding and the day they told me that I would not have the dress is 5/5/11. What kind of a place is this, that has a catalogue and the dresses get discontinued and nobody at the store could have told me this. I am not happy with this. If I were you I would be scarred to order a dress from them because some bridesmaids may have a dress while the others have to pick out a different dress. I would like a call from Davids Bridal explaining the fact that they are running a bridal place not a flea market that the dresses need to be told for people that are trying to plan a wedding. I have to take the time and call everyone and see who got the dress and did not. I am very upset and scared to tell my bridesmaids to get a dress from this company because a week later they might discontinue them. Well I was VERY nervous to go wedding dress shopping after reading a ton of horrible reviews. My family and most of my bridesmaids live in PA and I live in FL so I was going alone, and I was expecting the worst! As soon as I walked in the girl at the front desk was very nice. She took my info and gave me some dress magazines to keep. The manager came over and introduced herself and explained how the appointment would work. Then came Merritt...what a sweetheart! Not only did she patiently show me all my dress options, but she was upbeat and took her time explaining the silhouettes and styles. Even though she meets many brides each day, she seemed genuinely excited for me and my big day. She brought me the appropriate undergarments to use while trying on the gowns, and she helped me in and out of each one while never making me feel uncomfortable. She made me feel like the most beautiful bride she had ever seen, and even too front and back photos of me in each gown so I could send them to my mom. When I found "the one", Merritt and the manager presented me with a bell explaining that it's tradition that when you find the dress you ring the bell and make a wish. Merritt wrote all the information down so that I could call later and pay via phone. She gave me a big hug before I left and told me how beautiful I was and how happy she was for me. I walked out with a huge smile, my dream dress picked out, and some free wedding magazines and vendor information. read more
