It was time to upgrade my running shoes, and I found the perfect place to do it right here. My Brooks Glycerin 19's had served me well, but after many miles and several years, it was time for new ones. I was greeted as I came into the store, and immediately noticed the huge selection of different brands and numbers of shoes along the far wall in the fitting area. Matt was an excellent employee who sized my feet using a pretty cool 3-D imaging machine that I had to stand on for about 5 seconds. The information was then sent to his handheld computer and, voila, it showed a 3-D view of my feet and a recommendation of shoe size taking into account length, width, and arch - pretty cool! Matt brought out 3 different brands of shoes for me to try on - Saucony, Karhu, and Brooks. Of the 3, I ended up buying the Brooks (Glycerin 23). They fit perfectly and it felt like I was walking on air. To be honest, I've always been a Brooks fan over the years and this shoe just reinforced my perception of what a great shoe they make. The price for these is on the upper side of the market (just under $200 with tax), but actually pretty competitive with other stores. Their store is located in the Bell Tower shopping mall and perpendicular across from Burntwood Tavern. They are locally owned and they expressed their appreciation for me shopping with them. Customer service was top notch. Fleet feet was recommended by my sister. My wife and I live in Korea and we were visiting Fort Myers and in need of some good walking shoes. We met Sophia and she took really good care of us, recommending different shoes for based on the computer model that scanned our feet. What impressed us most was her taking the time to make sure we got in the right shoe and we were comfortable with it. My wife tried on about four pairs and I tried on three before we finally bought our shoes. I can't say enough good things about Sophia and the way she took care of us. I've never done a shoe store review, but this place deserves 5 Stars + for its service (Erin was sensational) and its custom built, electronic foot measurement system. Both my wife and I found out that our shoe sizes have changed over the years! And since the system is tied into the store inventory so the very experienced and well trained store employees can quickly make recommendations. Even if you're not currently shopping for sneakers, stop in to get your foot measured and to see if you have any special foot support needs that they can help you treat with the correct footwear for your needs and size. When I explained what I wanted in a running shoe, he abruptly told me it was "unhealthy" and that they only sell "healthy shoes" -- very dismissive and condescending. I've walked comfortably in Hokas but find the extra cushioning unstable for running, which he didn't seem open to hearing. Had the best experience at Fleet Feet. I've been to other running stores where they scan your feet. Usually they scan your feet and let you wander over to the wall of shoes and let you pick what you want. At least this was my experience as the running store at Coconut Point. At Fleet feet, Brian actually offered me shoes that were the best fit for my feet. Find the right shoes here! The integrity, kindness, knowledge, and graciousness of the owners, Brian and Janene Urichko, and their amazing staff, like Maggie and Addie, sets this place apart. Not to mention their range of great shoes. One of the pairs I'm getting has extra features for comfort and stabilizing the foot. I deal with pain issues and have different-sized feet that can make shoe-shopping difficult. I recently started on my mission to run a marathon by this October. Part of that mission included getting back into serious distance running condition. In order to do that I needed new pair of shoes that were not falling apart. For this type of distance running I wanted to make sure I was getting shoes that could handle being abused on a weekly basis. I went to Fleet Feet and Bell Tower shops this past week and was pleasantly greeted by the two people working there. They started off by asking me what my goals were for the shoes and we went from there. They then did a 3-D scan of my feet that analyzed the differences in size, the arch height and everything else in between. They did then did a gate analysis which helped me confirm that I had an issue with pronation. After these tests were done they then suggested three different pairs of shoes to try. None of them were quite right. They suggested one last pair that were similar to the ones that I had before. When I tried them on I knew I had found the right fit. The staff at Fleet Feet were a tremendous resource. I'm looking forward to putting the shoes through their paces and hopefully continue my training injury free. read more

If you are a lonely runner traveling to a new town, a Fleet Feet is always the best place to go to find a group of friendly runners. This Fleet Feet is no exception! We were visiting Fort Myers for a few days in July and stopped in for the weekly Monday Run Day event. The 3 mile route took us from the store and eventually on the John Yarborough Linear Park Trail. More importantly, we got to chat with local runners, including the store owner, Russ, who welcomed us to town with the easy-going friendliness that we've found radiates from anyone affiliated with Fleet Feet. The store was stocked with running essentials, particularly the best reviewed shoes out there. One of us wears a women's size 12, which many stores don't carry. Russ had the new Nike Vaporfly 4% in stock (and in a womens 12!) and was able to describe what it's like to run in the shoe.
