UPDATE: I received a call from the sales manager today who was very kind and indicated that they heard from corporate and they can process a full refund. I took my dress to the store this evening and they returned it. I bought a bridesmaid gown from this location and it wa a pretty crummy experience. I live in AZ, but my sister's wedding will be in MI, so I went dress shopping with her at the end of December while I was in town for the holidays. We showed up at 11:45 on a Sunday (our appointment was at noon), and apparently they do not open until noon. They would not allow us inside, out of the cold before noon. I get that they don't want to start working before their shift begins, and we expected to wait until noon to be helped. We just didn't expect to be told to wait outside, nor was it mentioned that the store opened at noon and we should not arrive early. Meanwhile, not one, not two, but THREE associates arrived just minutes before 12 and the associates inside unlocked the doors for them, promptly shutting and relocking the doors in front of our faces. Shouldn't the associates enter through another door when scrambling to clock in just minutes before their shift? How could they be prepared to work when they were still taking off their coats at noon? Ugh. Anyway, the sales girl seemed inexperienced and overwhelmed helping myself and another bridesmaid find a dress. Fortunately, my sister had a good idea of what she wanted, so we were done rather quickly thanks to her preparation. Upon check out, an unkept woman in a stained sweater (breakfast perhaps?), told me I could not have my dress shipped to an AZ David's Bridal. Instead, I would have to have it shipped to their location and they would subsequently ship it to my home. It was an additional charge of course. I wasn't thrilled with that idea since they told me it would arrive in March and I have trips scheduled during that month. I really wanted it sent to a store where I could pick it up, but I was told agan it was not an option. I asked them to please call or email me when they received the dress, but prior to shipping it to me, so I could ensure it would be picked up by a neighbor and didn't sit on my front porch if I were out of town. I was assured that would not be a problem what-so-ever. Yesterday, Jan 24th, I noticed a box on my front porch. In it, my dress. It was crumpled up in a wad and Fed Exed to me nearly 2 months early. No calls and no emails warning me to be on the lookout for it. Pretty much the icing on top of the craptastic customer service from this location. My sister bought her dress at the Davids Bridal in Novi, and had a wonderful experience. She was bummed we didn't drive the 40 minutes to that store instead. After my multiple awful experiences at David's Bridal, I am sure the only reason people shop at this location is because they color coordinate with Men's Warehouse. By the way, I have only had good experiences with Men's Warehouse. After reading other reviews I am even more disappointed. Their yelp rating is poor and the district manager is aware of the customer service issues. This is made apparent by their response to some of the reviews. Why is their customer service still so poor? They have been made aware of their sales associates poor customer service, extreme lack of attentiveness and inability to provide customers with a satisfying shopping experience. Why has nothing changed over the last few years? Please, please, tell me why some of the girls are still employed there... Every time I have walked into this location, I have felt like I was a complete inconvenience. Mind you, I have ALWAYS made an appointment and arrived on time. Regardless, no one should feel this way. We are there to spend MONEY on our or someone else's important day. This should be a good experience and sales associates should at least pretend to care about their customers. In regards to making an appointment, I am still completely confused as to why this is necessary. When shopping for bridesmaid dresses, the sales associate assigns you to one fitting room and tells the bridesmaid's they'll have to rotate or share a room. There were at least 10 open fitting rooms during the duration of our appointment. When the bride asked if the other rooms were being used, the sales associate said nothing, unlocked another and then walked away without saying a word. That was pretty much the extent of how much she "assisted" us for the entire appointment. The bride ran back and forth finding different styles or sizes for us. On the one occasion that we did need assistance, the bride asked the sales associate and she said she would come help us soon. About 30 minutes later, another sales associate arrived to help us. By then we had already solved our problem on our own. When I went up from to pay for my dress, three of the sales associates were chatting by the registers and didn't acknowledge that I was standing there attempting to give them my hard earned money for their crappy customer service and for a mediocre dress. When I asked to have the dress shipped to my home instead of the location, I was told there was a $15 fee. I still do not understand why they charge for this. It wouldn't have bothered me so much if our experience wasn't so awful. I absolutely dread stepping foot unto this store again even it's just to pick up a dress. I would rather shop at a second hand bridal store or even Meijer's fashion department. I have had amazing customer service at Once Again Bridal and paid considerably less money for higher quality items. This experience is only one of four and I don't want to spend anymore time explaining how dysfunctional this location is. It's apparent that the district manager is aware and can't or won't do anything about it. I have only been a repeat customer because I have had no choice. Hopefully the next wedding I am a part of will chose a different retailer. I would like to say that the older lady with an accent did take the time to talk to us when we were having a sizing issue. Other than that, all the sales associates there that evening were snotty, unhelpful and appeared to hate people in general. I just hope the dress I had to order comes in before the wedding in August 2016 and that I never have to go back there again. Find some place else to spend your hard earned money. read more

My mom and I decided to just drop in while on a girls trip (we are from Ohio). I found a dress that I just needed to try on. The staff quickly got me a consultant and signed me in. They didn't make it seem like an inconvenience. I fell in love with the dress and Michelle was fantastic! She was very helpful and took time to find out my dream of walking down the aisle, which no one has done before. She knew I loved the dress but didn't push me and let me try a few more on! She said she has 2 similar dresses and a wildcard and said that should help me decide... It did!!! She was very polite, open, friendly, and courteous! It was much better than my experience in a different David's bridal where the consultant was fake and pushy. I was happy that Michelle helped me say yes to the first dress today!!! read more

Here is my experience: My fiance went in for a fitting after the alterations were made. Nothing fit properly. She left there crying as the manager stated, " We can make addtional modifications but no promises we will have it ready within a week prior to your departure to Hawaii. " We took the dress to the Alteration Shoppe in Grosse Point City and they did an amazing job and got the dress back Tuesday (3 days later). Go to the Alteration Shoppe and do not deal with the rude management and alteration team of David's Madison Heights. Horrible experience. Horrible treatment of customer. As the management team of the Alteration Shop stated, " No Bride should be brought to Tears! Stay away from David's Bridal in Madison. I called for a credit and the response was, "We gave her everything she asked for". No credit, no empathy, no working with me. i said, I'll meet you halfway then, 50/50. Not willing to budge. Yes, David's gave her what she asked for, the problem, it did not fit. Ha! My recommendation: Stay away from David's Bridal in Madison! Avoid the tears. read more

Walking into David's Bridal was my first experience with anything wedding. And not only is my wedding just two weeks away, I am also 6 months pregnant and feel much less than beautiful. My mother made an appointment and everyone was extremely kind, especially my consultant Kelly and the floor manager. Kelly immediately tamed my stress, listened to everything I said, and made me feel more beautiful than I thought was possible. Don't get me wrong, bridal emotions and pregnancy hormones found their sneaky way in and I had some moments, but everyone made sure to tell me how wonderful I looked. After only 5 beautiful gowns, I found one that made me and my belly glow. I walked in feeling defeated and guessing there was no way I'd feel like a beautiful bride. But with Kelly's help and kind personality, I walked out with my head high and with the confidence that I will feel amazing on my special day. Thank you Kelly! Well, I returned to pick up my dress and am so very happy! With a growing belly, it didn't quite fit, but the alterations department fixed it on the spot and made me feel beautiful! i don't know what all of the bad reviews are for. my experience was great from the moment that i booked my appointment all the way through picking a wedding dress. amber assisted me and she was super friendly and personable without making me feel awkward. she made sure to try to pick out the style of dress and budget that i was looking for. even when i tried on the same dresses multiple times to get a different look with accessories she never seemed annoyed. this store has a lot of bridal gowns and prom gowns as well. they also have a clearance section for people who are shopping on a tight budget. all in all i am very glad i did not let the negative reviews stray me away from this place. everything worked out fine! read more

Where to begin. The lot of us had an appointment with Josephine today. I'm also pretty sure that the review from Jesse P. mentions that Josephine was double booked and by the timing of the review I believe the other appointment was my sister getting her dress. But I digress. Josephine was the worst sales person I have ever dealt with. She was all sweet and nice to the bride while spitting venom at the other people with her the second the bride was out of earshot. One of the first things out of her mouth was that if we saw something the bride might like then we should let her know. Okay. No problem, right? Wrong. She kept insisting that she knew exactly what the bride wanted and that she was not (and really emphatic about it) going to put the bride in anything that we had picked out. It didn't matter that the bride had an idea of what she wanted and we were helping her choose things to try. Josephine was just downright rude to anyone in our party that wasn't the bride and I wonder how she still has a job. read more

While I did end up finding a dress I liked, my experience at the store was so unpleasant, I wound up in tears. It went poorly from the moment I walked in, when I was informed by the floor manager that my consultant was, "late, as usual." When my consultant arrived, she completely ignored the list of favorites I had made in preparation for my appointment, and started bringing me random dresses. I was never offered a single dress from my chosen list, despite my specific requests to see them, and the fact I pulled them up on my phone because my consultant "couldn't tell from the list" in her hand "which dress was which." I repeatedly explained that I do not like being the center of attention and am shy, and yet was repeatedly shooed out of the private hallway I was comfortable in and onto a stage where my consultant insisted that random strangers tell me "how beautiful I look." When I found the dress I wanted, I was forced to "make a wish!!!" and ring a bell on the stage, while the consultants insisted I "wish for twins." I am not pregnant, by the way; I have a painful medical condition that causes my stomach to swell, something I had already explained to my consultant, the one leading the charge. When I started to cry from all the stress that was being inflicted upon me, the consultant told me I "finally looked like a REAL BRIDE." "Real brides" come in all shapes, sizes and temperaments. Some, like me, are introverted, and have gone through painful experiences leading up to their wedding day. They don't bounce up and down and want to look like a princess, they just want to feel comfortable and beautiful for the partner they have chosen. That I would wind up feeling humiliated and judged on the day I picked out my dress and spent a LOT of money at the store was inconceivable to me. If I had more time, I would absolutely have walked out and never returned, but we are eloping and time is very much of the essence. I will say this, though, in conclusion: the woman I spoke to in alterations before I left was calm, kind, and informative -- the only sign of sanity in the entire place. Her name, according to her card, was Yasar. I was so grateful to be spoken to with understanding, even for the two minutes we conversed. I hope to avoid my consultant at all costs when I return for my alterations appointment. I really recommend that you find somewhere else to purchase your dress, somewhere where they actually LISTEN to who you are and what you want out of your dress and experience. When I think back on this experience, it will be an such an unhappy memory. read more

The reason I gave one star was because when I returned to pick up my gown, I had to get a new corset because I lost weight. I can't remember who assisted me, but I tried on two before we got the right size. I bought it for $79.99 + tax and went home. When I took my corset out to show my daughters, I realized that it was the same one I tried on at the store, all stained and filthy, and without garter straps. I called the Madison Heights store back, and a woman told me that the one I bought was the only one they had in the store. She also said that I could bring it back to see if they could spot treat it, and they would see if they could find me some straps. I should have been afforded the opportunity to say "NO" to a used garment. She should have called another store to see if they had the corset in my size, just in case I was willing to go there. Instead, I was sold a dirty corset that multiple women tried on, and not even offered a discount. Spot treating won't remove dead skin cells from multiple people. Remember, it's not just about the sale, it's about the experience and creating repeat customers. read more

Wedding dress shopping, stripped right down to the bare bones! As a bridesmaid said, nothing like David's Bridal to put things into perspective. I think this would be a great place to stop by if you have absolutely no idea what style of wedding dress you want, because they have all the sizes off the rack. For a petite girl like me, it's sometimes difficult to envision how a dress would really look when I'm trying on size 16 samples that are clipped back in the other stores. However, I would really caution about the quality of the dresses here - up close and in person, you can see that an extra $200 or so goes a long way in beading, material, and overall look. Check out Demetrios in Troy for dresses that are slightly more expensive but waaay better in quality. The girl who helped us was really friendly and sweet, but I'm not sure how she's in the fashion industry. Twice I asked for a specific dress (from a catalog and off someone else's rack), and both times she came back with completely different dresses! Also, please don't bring your party of 20 and hog all the chairs so my party of 2 can't sit anywhere. That being said, they do have some really lovely styles here, and it's certainly possible that the dress for you is here! Also, some of the bridesmaids dresses are very pretty and I'll definitely consider coming back for those. read more

I used David's Bridal for my bridesmaids and flower girl dresses for my May 16th wedding. The quality, style, and price of all of the dresses was impeccable, but that unfortunately did not carry over to their customer service, or to be more clear, lack there of. Upon arriving I informed the sales associate at the front desk that I had made an appointment to look at options for my bridesmaids and flower girl dresses. After waiting for quite a while, we were finally approached by a sales associate that basically told me to pick some dresses out that I liked and she would write them down. She then basically blew us off to go help other people, which angered me because that's why I specifically made an appointment. I brought her my selections and color choices and she entered them into the computer. About a month later (right around Christmas), I made another appointment with my maid of honor so she could try on my selections and narrow it down to one. For this appointment we were literally not helped once, even though the store was not that busy at the time we went in. The zipper on the dress I ended up selecting was not working on the try-on dress and I had to search the store for about 10 minutes just to get someone to either get me another for her to try, or to try and zipper it themselves as I did not want to rip/damage the dress. When we were done trying them on, we approached the desk where my maid of honor ordered the dress and was informed that it should be in within a few weeks. I also at this time purchased some color swatches so that I could match the dresses to the other aspects of my wedding. I asked the associate when I should have the girls come in to try on their dresses in the 'Sunbeam' yellow, and she said that they could wait for a bit as the dresses usually do not take that long to come in. Unfortunately she was incredibly wrong. When my girls went to get fitted in late February (which I told them to go earlier than advised just so we had everything in and there was no stress), they were informed that it was a good thing they came in when they did because apparently my dress style in the sunbeam yellow was a special order which I was never informed of even by the sales associate I asked prior. Clearly upset, I had to call every one of them and try to coordinate our schedules so that they could get fitted within the next two days (as we were told had to happen or we wouldn't have the dresses on time!). After all of my girls made it in, they were all given different dates as to when their dresses would come in. Most of them were fine, but two were not scheduled to come in until the week of my wedding! When they notified me of this, I immediately called the store and to inquire whether anything could be done. I was put abruptly on hold by a sales associate, and was not even given the chance to finish the reason for my call. When a manager came to the phone (after about a 5 minute wait time on hold), I explained to her my situation, and she pretty much blew me off and told me "it is what it is". I found this to be EXTREMELY RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL. At this point, I emailed their corporate offices, and the district manager got back to me promptly the same day, and said she would speak with her employees about their mistakes, and see what she could do to help. She did ensure that if the dresses needed any rush alterations, that they would be done for us at no charge. I waited about a week to call the store again, as I had not heard anything as to what was being done, and basically the same situation occurred when I called the store prior. I inquired whether the dresses would even be in on time for my wedding, and was told that they "can't promise anything, but probably will" and insinuated that I shouldn't have waited so long! The entire situation left me furious, disappointed, and with a bad taste in my mouth, especially since I was just following the directions of the store employee. Luckily the dresses came in last minute, but still in time for the wedding, and were beautiful. However, I definitely do not recommend this store to anyone; even though they have great prices, it's not worth the hassle, and rude nature of the employees that you would have to endure. I would have rather paid a bit more, and had a much better customer service experience with less stress, and aggravation. read more

Full Disclosure: My bride gene is broken. Compared to others, I don't feel like I went overly crazy over wedding planning, dress shopping, food tasting (well, except for cake tasting). Sure, I stressed out about some things and obsessed over others but I knew what was important to me and everything else was left by the wayside. So when it came to dress shopping, I relied on a friend for dress advice. The same friend also schedule my dress shopping appointment at this David's location. And she even dog-eared the catalog in advance for me...we all should be so lucky to have friends like her! Prior to my own dress shopping experience, I was at this location once before when a friend was shopping for her dress. Her experience went well, so I wasn't too worried about my appointment. Yikes, I only wish my appointment went as well as hers. Another disclosure: I was late to my appointment. My bad. I apologized profusely and hoped this wouldn't mare the experience. I think it did. From the very start, my sales consultant didn't take me seriously. She took my "client sheet," looks at the name, and starts to read it; "Michelle I--------". "Hmmm, that's interesting," she says. What?!?!? Did you really comment on my last name? Sorry, its not Smith or Miller, but I think Madison Heights does have more than just 'white/anglo' people living/shopping there. Then I started trying on dresses. I told her what kind of dress I was looking for and what I wasn't looking for. I clearly said I didn't want any faux jewels/pearls/bling. She kept bringing me sashes or dresses with fake bling. Then she asked if I was planning on wearing a veil, I said no. Five minutes later, I'm standing in front of a mirror in a dress and she comes up with a veil and starts putting it on me. I was cracking up in laughter from the disbelief....she thought I was crying tears of joy! The last straw happened when I expressed a concern, she says "my, I've had a lot of opinionated brides today!" Really?!?! An opinionated bride? Why, what a rare occurrence! (please note my sarcasm here.) I think she could tell I wasn't happy with her, so she promptly decided to abandon me and not provide me with much help afterwards. That's cool, because I was about done and decided to pack up and skedaddle. Any store or management team that decides to have person like that on staff does not deserve my business. A week later, I called the Novi David's Bridal to make an appointment to see some of the dresses again. When I was telling the sales consultant there about my experience at the Madison Heights location, you should have seen the disbelief on her face. No joke...she was absolutely gobsmacked. She even provided me with the District Manager's email so I could express my concern to her. Suffice to say, I will not be returning to this location nor recommend it to others. In addition to the lackluster service, I also found this one to be a bit run down and a bit more worn-in compared to the Novi location. However, this location did offer some great people watching! although the selection here is decent and pricing is good the customer service right when you walk in the door leaves something to be desired. nobody likes a snotty receptionist or to be greeted with an attitude. My mother and i went here for her mother of the bride dress fitting and wanted to try on soem dresses. Not only could we not try on a single dress without a sales girl we couldnt even leave the front of the store. when the gal called to help us came up shes was about as helpful as a zit on your wedding day!! she did not greet us she just said come with me. she opened 2 rooms and was never seen again. i would have loved the dress i tried on in a smaller size but i did not want to get dressed go through the entire store just to see if they had one. so i left the dresses in the room and my mother and i left. mind you the lady who did my mom's fitting was so nice and helpful. she should be on the floor and not the snot who came to help us or the gal at the front desk. c'mon madison heights david's let's step it up a notch you have a lot of competition out there that will gladly treat us like a valued customer! read more

Had a horrible experience!!!!! I bought a dress off the floor and was told they would be able to fix the beads that we're missing from the dress(the dress was all beading). The day I went back for my fitting which was also 2 weeks away from my wedding day, they told me they DONT fix beads or replace them. Then why was I standing in a dress I was TOLD would be fixed!!!!!!!! I picked up my dress today and beads are still missing from the bottom and literally strings of where beads were are still on the dress!!! How unprofessional!!!!! Not a fan at all .... went in there originally without an appointment but luckily they did ALLOW me to look around and try on a few dresses. Even after describing what I was looking, the sales rep could not even come close to what I was asking for. Either she wasn't listening or she was just grabbing anything off of the rack to get me to try something on. We finally left and I went on line and printed off about 25 dresses I liked, made my appointment and literally handed the sales rep the stack of papers and said I would like to try these on. Out of those 25, I did find a dress that I liked (not 1000%%% LOVED but liked alot) and was within reason for the price. I asked the sales rep about the bust section, can they put in pads, what kind of support (which I need) can I wear?. The saleswoman swore up and down that I could easily find a bra to wear and it wouldn't be a problem. so I ordered the dress and happily went on my way. Well that lady was WRONG - there are no bras or support to wear with a keyhole back at least not one that will provide support with a size D cup. When I went in for my alterations, the lady looked at me and said "I wish you brides would think of these things before you buy a dress" ... lady .. I did think of it and i asked but your rep was more interested in my $$ than what the dress looked like. The alterations were done horribly, the pads they did add (to add for support since I had to get a stick on bra which does NOTHING) were cock eyed and were actually sewn where you could see they sticking out of my dress. The bustle looked like they just grabbed the material and pinned it up without looking to see how it would look during the evening. Just a bad experience and i was actually dreading wearing my dress to my wedding (and with the dress/alterations, I spent almost $1000 - that's alot of money not to want to wear a dress). But the day of the wedding came and I felt beautiful and realized I was more unhappy with my dress than anyone else was and to enjoy my day! read more

Yes it is convenient to come here, but seriously, if you are looking for the polar oppositte or popular tv show " Say Yes to the Dress" then this IS the place !!! Despite the establishment not being busy at all when I arrived with the bridal party, service was SLOOOOOW and then they tried to rush you to purchase something right away and to pressure bridesmaids into purchasing dresses on the spot. Later when I sent a friend to pick up the dress they would not give it to her or look up my name in the computer system because they needed the name of the bride..yet I had paid for it with my credit card. I went to another David's Bridal in Hawaii this past month and my experience was sub par also. Davids Bridal = mediocre bridal salone with even less than mediocre service...and FYI if you watch tv the dresses are continuously on sale, thus I highly doubt they are limited time only amazing deals !. read more

I've been to David's Bridal in Boston and at this location and tried on about 15-20 gowns before finally realizing that the reason I couldn't find a dress here is because they look poorly made. Yes there are cheap dresses, but they also look like cheap dresses. This is the best place to go if your dress budget is like $300 and under or you are doing a casual destination wedding. I find that if you can afford something a little bit nicer/formal ($500-$800 range), you can definitely find designers such as Mori lee that will have higher quality gowns than what is offered at David's Bridal. Nicer gowns at David's Bridal are not a good deal. The customer service at the Boston location was okay, they were patient but was a bit too busy for me. I'm writing a review for this particular location because I was super annoyed with the attendant, Josephine. She reminds me of an overbearing Jewish mother. I felt very pressured by her to make a decision ASAP and she got pretty short with me when I want to try out a few different styles of dresses ranging from ball gowns to sheaths. It was the first time I was shopping with my mother so it was important for me to try on a few styles for her to see. I ended up speaking to my mother entirely in Chinese because I'm tired of Josephine completely unwanted input. Maybe I am just not a bride who really enjoys the smothering but I really wanted to tell her to just bring my dresses on my list and leave me alone to decide with my mom! read more

I ordered a bridemaids dress and was told by two different associates that if I paid for my dress in full when I ordered it, that my alterations would be free for 30 days after dress arrives. Upon receiving a call to pick up dress, she (manager) stated that alterations have NEVER been free and asked very condescendingly if I read my receipt!?! I would never suggest this store. Treated me as if I was lying. Maybe the associates get perks for customers paying up front but I will be getting alterations done elsewhere if needed because they will never get my business again ever... read more

I went to David's because they had a sale. I popped in on my break which was 90 minutes that day. I told her what I was looking for, then she went into her speech about needing an appt. Seriously, there was no one in the place. She said I could look myself to see if she could find someone. I looked for 30 min and no one came to help, so I went back to the desk where another girl was and asked to be helped... She gave me the same speech. I ended up just leaving. Seriously? Back in July, I went and purchased my wedding dress. It was beautiful, however I really felt rushed in the process and ended up purchasing it. This last Saturday I brought my 12 year old niece in to try on junior bridesmaid dresses, WITH an appointment. There was a gentleman trying to sell tuxes at the front desk...tacky! When I checked in they couldn't even find my appointment card, and this old unfriendly woman asked if my niece was the bride!!! What? When we finally...after 15 minutes and after calling for our salesperson 3 times, we finally were seen only to be shown which dresses they had available in the color I wanted. The dresses are so cheaply made. I couldn't believe it. While we were trying on dresses in the dressing room area, I was constantly banging into other girls with the dressing room door, who were just walking around and standing around in prom dresses. There were at least 20 girls in the fitting area just standing there. Not once did my sales consultant ask if we were ok or needed anything. We tried on 4 dresses and booked out of there. This place needs to get their act together. David's bridal in general, as I have had a few different bad experiences with items I purchased online. I decided to get another dress as I refuse to wear a DB dress on my wedding day. That's how angry I am at this company. I will never ever step foot in this store again. You lost my business. Let me start by saying I am on a small budget and have just a few short months before my wedding so I am limited on places to buy a dress. David's is probably the only place that can accommodate my budget and time constraint which is disappointing to say the least. I made an appointment for 5:30 last Saturday. I got there on time, stood at the check in counter for 10 minutes before anyone came over. I was greeted and gave my name, only for the girl to tell me they didn't have my papers but "oh, we're sure you're in our system somewhere." She paged and paged and paged for a consultant, then after another 10 minutes go by, she says that everyone's busy with PROM appointments. Okay, I'm sorry but I am a BRIDE and I made an APPOINTMENT. The girl wasn't offering any apologies, she pretty much just stood there staring into space until FINALLY after a half hour my awesome consultant Alycia came over. She was amazing and helped me try everything on, but I will also add how disgusted I was with the amount of small children running around unsupervised (I understand this isn't David's Bridal's fault, but the parents. However it would've been nice if someone could've told them to manage their children). I also had a woman walk in my dressing room as I was mid-trying on, standing in my bra and underwear, which was also very frustrating. Still, with the help of Alycia I ended up finding 2 dresses I liked and decided to schedule a come-back appointment for this Saturday to bring my sisters and make the final decision. We returned yesterday at 5:30 and was greeted by name. The girl at the desk very clearly knew I had an appointment and was coming back. Again, after standing around for 15-20 minutes, I started to get aggravated. The girl at the desk was rude and told us that they were busy with "bridal appointments". My sister and I both said, "what are we?! Are we NOT a bridal appointment?!" She never paged my consultant, I kept hearing her mutter different names and when I asked for Alycia, she told me that Alycia was "busy". I MADE MY APPOINTMENT WITH ALYCIA! She knew me, knew what dresses I liked, and was who I was comfortable with! I finally got so aggravated that I went shopping and was pulling dresses on my own. Finally a different consultant came up, over a half hour later and when I showed her a new dress I was trying to find, she very rudely snuffed at me "good luck, that dress is discontinued". Which infuriated me because it is still available on the DB website and app, and has no mention of it being discontinued. Then when I mentioned trying to order it from the website, she basically laughed at me and said I would never find it big enough online. EXCUSE ME?! I'm not a size 0, but I'm not even plus sized! I was so beyond disgusted I was ready to leave. She told me she'd pull the 2 original dresses I came back for and disappeared for another 10 minutes, I saw her helping multiple other customers and ignoring me, then finally came back with only 1 of the dresses and said they didn't have the other one "big enough" for me. Needless to say at this point, my blood pressure was boiling. The consultant didn't even come in the room to help me, she was wandering around helping other people, never once asked me if I needed help or anything, and I was done. I had tried on the one dress, was totally and completely over the entire experience and lost it. The consultant walked past me and FINALLY asked if I needed anything and I lost it. I told her to stay away from me, that all I wanted to do was get out of the dress, leave, and never come back. She didn't say two words to me, turned, and walked away. I was assuming that she was going to find a manager or someone else to try to suck up to me and get me to stay and I was not gonna have it. Then the heavens opened up and I saw my original consultant, Alycia, come around the corner. She too, was very frustrated and explained that she had been waiting for me, she had BOTH of my dresses pulled, in MY size, waiting for me, and nobody ever notified her I was there. She thought that I never showed up. We were both extremely disappointed in how the appointment was handled and how I was talked to, but thank GOD for Alycia because she saved the day! She got me in both of my original dresses, tried on multiple different sashes, pulled a few new styles for me to try, and was just an all-around Saint. I ended up picking my dress (very reluctantly, I'm still very nervous to deal with David's in general after all of the hassle they've put me through) but hands down if it weren't for Alycia, I would've been saying a lot more harsh words and would've been beating down the doors to get out. I just now want to warn any future customers that if you do go there, be prepared for shenanigans and do yourselves a favor and request Alycia! read more

This review is specifically for Jessica, one of the bridal consultants at this location. I had a late-afternoon appointment and arrived to find the store really crowded. There were a few bridal parties there and several brides trying on dresses. My girlfriends and I weren't greeted immediately as the girl working the welcome desk was swamped with the phone, customers leaving, and customers entering. I saw 2 associates but the first to so much as smile at us was Jessica. As we walked back towards the dressing room area, I described what I was looking for in a dress and what my budget, and I made if VERY clear that I was NOT going to be purchasing anything that day. Jessica listened attentively, asked a few clarifying questions, and went off to find some dresses. The dresses she brought back were EXACTLY what I described and all within the budget I gave her. She had another bridal party's appointment overlap with mine but still did a great job of running between us. it actually was good for me because I HATE dress shopping and couldn't wait to get out of each dress. But the few minutes I had to wait for her forced me to really look at the dress and think about what I liked and didn't like. I tried on 3 dresses initially and after asking if there were dresses that were more this and that, I tried on a couple more that Jessica brought back. Again, the second batch of dresses were exactly what I wanted to see. At one point, Jessica spent a good 5 minutes hunting down a dress she knew was on the floor somewhere among the half dozen brides who had tried on dresses in the half hour before me. She was incredibly patient and the perfect balance between professional and friendly. I felt really comfortable with her and trusted her judgment. Instead of trying to answer alteration questions herself, Jessica went and found seamstresses to answer them for me so that I'd have accurate information. I ended up getting my dress elsewhere, but if my bridesmaids were in the area, I would definitely go back to this location to work with Jessica. If DB allows you to request a specific consultant, ask for Jessica because she seriously knows what she's doing and is very accommodating! I would pick a time that might not be as popular, though, because my one BIG turnoff to the store was how crowded and loud it was. read more

This particular davids bridal was a great experience shopping wise but if you have a bride that ends up canceling the wedding shortly after you've already paid for your bridesmaid dress in full you have to jump thru hoops to get your money back if your dress was being ordered, if you've already got your dress and walked out of the store with your dress they can only give you store credit. Oh and also apparently there is a cancelation fee that they dont tell you about when you order your dress. Honestly worst customer service at this store ever had to go thru coorporate to get anything done. read more

My sales person was knowledgeable but she was helping out too many people at once. It also felt like a high pressure sale. I wouldn't recommend this place. Also, if your looking for more designer styles, it's better to go to a smaller boutique. Dresses were low quality with scratchy lace and embroidery. read more

This place has the worst customer service. When my friend purchased her wedding dress, all of us bridesmaids wrote down a model number for our dresses to come back and try on later. They lost that information and I had to search for the dress all over again. I arrive to pick up the dress and the workers are so busy socializing they don't realize I'm still waiting for someone to retrieve my dress from the back. When I go back to the counter they say, "Oh I thought you had left already." Um, no I've been standing waiting in the same place this whole time. Unorganized and unprofessional. read more

my experience at first was great but when it came to picking up my dress I had to take it back 2 times and have them reorder my dress; each it time my dress came back with issues the first time I had to take it back due to issues (there where knots that weren't cut, hair dust, loose strings all over the dress and the lace was ripped in some parts) the customer service rep. that was working was giving me an attitude for returning it, I walked out crying then the 2nd dress came back with burn marks on it. When my 3rd dress came in they didn't even bother to call me, I just happen to call to see if my dress was in which it did.. they had it for a month sitting in their back room. They have a good variety of dresses and are beautiful! My consultant was gossiping with another associate so she kept disappearing and my mom helped more than the consultant. She acted as if she was just suppose to get the exact dress I would try one on and be done but I was actually there to see what style looked best. The service was TERRIBLE at this location. I brought my bridesmaid there (with an appt) to try dresses on. I was so embarrassed at the way we were being treated. I had to get ALL of my own dresses without being checked on at all. The lady was rude and was more interested in speaking with her co worker about Ponds facial cloths than my dresses. I couldn't believe it!!! After two hours, we found the perfect dress....only to have her tell us they didn't have it. I asked if they could order it online, she said yes. WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY THAT IN THE BEGINNING!!!! Completely ruined my whole experience. I was too upset to even complain to a supervisor. I'll take my koney elsewhere! read more

Had a appointment today at 1 got there a little early but the person said to shop around someone would come get us. An hour later we went up and asked if we were going to get help and they gave us a room. No consultant no nothing just a room. So what was the point of an appointment? I went to David's Bridal today to pick up my Maid of Honor Dress. I walked in to the store and three white saleswomen were standing there, one on the phone at the podium and the other two were talking. The two looked my way but never stopped talking to one another nor greeted me. But as another white woman came in after me they made sure to greet her and even ask if she needed their help! I proceeded to the counter (with the registers) and there was a black saleswoman near the counter hanging up dresses, we met eyes but she never spoke nor asked if I needed assistance... I stood there for almost 10mins and no one ever came over so I finally asked the woman hanging dresses if someone was working the checkout counter. She proceeded to take my name and get my dress at which time she walked me over to the lady at the podium who stated she was going to take another lady because she was there first she sent me back to try on my dress in alterations, no one asked if I needed help getting my dress zipped or anything I had to come out and find someone to help me, though they knew I went into the dressing room. They lady who helped me was not very pleasant either. I then went to purchase a garment bag back at the checkout counter and at this time one of the first women was there walking around helping someone, but still never acknowledged I was standing at the counter and she walked away another saleswoman approached with a client in toe tot he register and never spoke nor asked if I was being helped. Standing there another 10mins and another saleswoman came from the back and stood at the register in front of me and not once spoke or acknowledged me but started talking to the white gentleman whom stood next to me showing so much concern about what he needed. So once again I stood there until I had to finally ask for the manager in which she was (Kathryn)! I explained to her I had not been help and she proceeded to apologize and state it was because she had just gotten back from lunch and was trying to get setup, though this did not stop her from speaking and taking to the other customer! I will not be returning to this location nor refer any of my friends or family, because I experienced racism and lack of customer service!!! If I could give zero stars I would! My girlfriend and I stopped in to look at dresses and we were greeted with no smile,not another person in the store with do you have an appointment? No, I didn't know I needed one still rude you need to make one and come back. I stupidly made one at went back. What a JOKE! I tried on two dresses not that happy the third one I was like it's just OK. The girl thought ok was good enough when she was helping me and she's like, ok we're good then! I wasn't complaining at all but she was too lazy, must've been worried about taking her lunch break to care. At that point she was like do you want to order and I said no I don't like anything and I left. My gut intuition was right about this place. They also have cheaply made tacky dresses so you get what you pay for is exactly right. I ended up going in to Arena bridal in Shelby Twp. Greeted with a smile and no appointment and they helped me right away and I found my dream dress! I was also treated special and like royalty. Save your time ladies and go to any other bridal salon then this place by all the reviews I've seen a lot of other people feel the same way. If I could give this place -5 Stars I would! I will say I try to be positive in most of my reviews that I leave for businesses but for this place I have nothing good to say. This location is dirty and disorganized and MOST of the staff is rude (I won't say all because the women at the front podium today was very friendly). But I ordered a dress over a month ago and the women that took my order said it wouldn't come in till the end of December and I inquired about how quickly they would be able to do the alternations that I need at that point and she said it would be no issue and we could just do a rush on it and it would cost me slightly more (which I get needing to have additional fees for the expedited service). So I finally got a call on 12/18 to let me know my dress was there and I could pick it up at that point. Unfortunately I was out of town visiting my family for the holidays and just came back Christmas Day and had to work all week. So I called this afternoon and talked to alterations about needing them done by next week for my friends wedding the lady on the phone seemed hesitant but said she would pull up my information and call me back within 10 minutes. I waited over an hour and received no call back so I drove up to the store to talk to someone. The women in the front took me to alterations where that women said they needed to speak to someone else to see what they could do and asked me to wait, which of course I have no problem there were other clients in the store. I was finally approached by a condescending women who told me they weren't able to do the alterations and blah blah and basically blamed it on me for receiving and email and a call again the call was on the 18th and it's the holidays (I will say I did miss the email but again wasn't looking real hard because the women stated the dress wouldn't be in till the end of the month). I told the women well then the business shouldn't be telling clients that they can alter dresses for an additional rush fee and they could have at least given me the courtesy of a call back so I could contact other places but the lady didn't want to touch on her stores lack of professionalism towards their clients and rather focus on trying to blame them. She even deflected their wrong of not keeping the original sales ladies word or a call back today when promised to compliment my eyelashes.. at that point I was irritated and just took my dress and went. I personally didn't need compliments or any other bullshit excuses to be honest. So after I left I drove to Eddie's Alterations on 11 Mile in Royal oak since I had been there before. I walked in and ask Eddie and his lovely staff if at all possible could they help me with the alterations that I needed and they said of course no problem. They were pleasant and didn't even charge me any additional fees since all I needed was a hem on the length. I will say a lot of women order their dresses from David's Bridal so I get having to purchase items from there but as far as trying to get alterations and be treating nicely I will say I definitely don't like this location. I assume others could be better but in all honesty it probably worked out because I had alterations done on a dress from DB a few years back and not only was it over $100 the alteration work wasn't great. Check out Eddie's (even their yelp reviews are by far better than this place). PS based on the response from the business owner.. I will SAY cost has nothing to do about the review.. I mentioned more than once I understood an additional fee. read more
