I got my wedding dress altered here over a year ago and it was a great experience. However I called today and when I asked about a rush job for a hem I was going to in a week. The lady in alterations that answered the phone was rude and laughed when I asked if they might be able to get me in. She started to tell me it was too expensive before she offered to ask. What a great experience at first at David's Bridal, but when it was time to start the fittings, it was a total different experience! I was told what the prices of each alteration would cost! Then, when I went for the fitting I was told much higher prices for the alterations! At that point you feel like your held hostage that if you dont pay your gown willnt be done right or in time! I paid the higher price, picked up my gown and then I called the corporate office and complained and they gave me the money back that they over charged me! My nephew's wedding is in 3 weeks. I went to David's Bridal hoping I would have the same luck I did there over 2 years ago when I found the most beautiful dress (unfortunately, a little snug now). Nicole waited on me, helping me carry the dresses to the try-on room, complimenting my husband's hat, and gave me 20% off on the dress I chose unexpectedly. Her customer service was amazing. This place is unbelievably unorganized and unprofessional. I scheduled an appointment for 3 of my bridesmaids to try on their dresses. This store already had my profile and dress selections on file with the style #s, etc. I was on limited time since one of my bridesmaids had to bring her 2 kids with her and the other had to go to work shortly after the appointment. I also had a babysitter for my 2 children for a limited amount of time; so I scheduled an appointment there weeks in advance and told them that I needed it to be quick and easy. Considering they had all of my information and dress info, knowing 3 bridesmaids were coming in, you think they would have the dresses pulled out, or at least know where they were located so when we got there, they could quickly try them on. Nope. They spent so much time trying to find these dresses and then informed me the one style was not in their store, "it's out of stock." Upon calling a different David's bridal (Tampa), they informed me the dress is an online only style. Spring Hill location didn't even know that. So we spent over an hour there trying to find dresses, while my one bridesmaids kids were throwing tantrums, and the other was now running late for work. This is why I made an appointment and provided all information ahead of time. I was highly pissed. And then the consultant didn't even help us. I (the bride) pulled the dresses off the rack myself, handed them out to my bridesmaids and helped them get dressed, BY MYSELF. What was the point of making an appointment? My 3rd bridesmaid lives out of state. She ordered the dress at the store while she was here visiting, and paid for shipping. We were all standing there and heard her give her home address, etc. Couple weeks later. I called to check the status of her dress. The lady said the dress should be arriving to the store in a few days. I said no it's suppose to go to her house in NJ. She said "well it will come here first and then we will ship it to her." Seems weird to me but okay. So a few days later, she gets an email saying her dress is available for pickup. Long story short, we contacted the store again and they're trying to tell her that she didn't pay for shipping, but she did! They said they will take care of it and ship it to her but they don't have proof of her paying for shipping. We were all there, 4 of us, hearing her give her address and pay for shipping. Whatever. Now today, the store calls her again to tell her that her dress has been sitting at the store and needs to be picked up. Hahaha like seriously? My bridesmaid is beyond furious. This store keeps saying they'll take care of it, but then they forget? I don't know what's going on at this location, but it's the absolute worst. Unprofessional, unorganized. My other bridesmaids went to the Tampa location and had a 100 times better experience. Avoid this location. I have a feeling I will probably end up picking up this dress and shipping it to my bridesmaid myself. Because this store can't seem to figure things out. read more

I went in wanting a specific dress in navy blue and Cleidys suggested I also try the gold one on. Well, needless to say the gold was an exact fit and matched my skin tone perfectly. I would never have tried on the gold because I never thought I'd like it but with her expertise I now have another color in my wardrobe. Thanks so much for your suggestion and thanks to Elisa for finding the perfect earrings to go with it. Absolutely the worst experience with alterations EVER. 2 months before my wedding I get a call from David's saying I needed to come in for a fitting. I thought this was odd because I never made a comment about the dress not fitting right the last time I was in there. I went in for the appointment with my mom and the women told me it was an appointment for alterations. I told her there was a mistake because my dress fit fine. She said there needed to be extra things sewed on it and tiny odds and ends. Hesitant I agree to do the fitting. A women came in and said I needed bustle points so the dress can be tied up and under after the ceremony. Myself and my mother both explained that bustle points were unnecessary because I didn't have a train and the dress was the perfect length. The women went on to measure, lift my dress, and write notes down. She then told me my total alteration bill was over $400. Shocked I asked her what needed to be done. She said I needed 10 bustle points (at $12 a piece), a button sewed in to the top of my dress and another button to be sewed into my corset so everything would "lay nicely", and a few more things that seemed completely useless. I, again, explained to the women those were things I did not want because I loved the dress the way it was. She then turned her attitude on and said all brides get there dresses altered so she didn't see why I was giving her such a hard time. Before I lost my mind my mother stepped in and told her we weren't paying for anything and leaving. The women then yelled in Spanish into the back room and another women came into the fitting room. The original women spoke to the second women in Spanish for a few minutes while pointing at me. The second women the tried to explain why I needed the alterations. First off, how unprofessional to speak to a coworker in a different language and point at me. Second off it wasn't that I didn't "understand" the alterations, I didn't want them done! Apparently no one understood that. After a heated argument the second women asked me what I intended on paying for as far as alterations went. I told her nothing. She then changed her tune and told me I could "get away" with having 6 bustle points instead of 10. Now I'm even more pissed because I'm now thinking the first women was charging me for things I didn't even need! I told her I wanted 1 bustle point in the back so it would be even with the rest of the dress. The women tried to argue with me, but after seeing it was a lost cause, she told me it's be $20. What!? I said the first women told me they were $12 a piece. She said I must have misunderstood her and they are actually $20. I didn't misunderstand anything. I got dressed, grabbed my dress, and started to walk out. Both women the proceed to follow me out saying they'll give me the bustle point for $12 because of the "confusion". I was mentally and emotionally exhausted and just agreed to have them do the one. Never ever again will I ever use a David's or recommend them to friends. Just awful. read more

I walked into David's bridal with a picture in hand for a specific dress I wanted for my grand daughters wedding. I was told that it was only an online dress so needless to say I was a little disappointed. Then I asked if I could look at some short dresses although I did not have an appointment, I was very surprised that they were so nice and I did find a dress which was on sale, I was able to try it on and loved it. Thanks to the sales girl she helped me. I will be sure to back there again if I need a dress. read more

I went to make an appointment with the Tampa location, but nothing was available in the time I needed to come in. Saw that the Spring Hill location had lots of openings. Now I know why. The girl that ended up helping me kept leaving and I couldn't find her. Didn't understand that seeing as I had an appointment. My friend that came with me ended up grabbing dresses for me and assisted me on putting them on. I found a beautiful dress, which she ordered in too large of a size. I trusted her opinion on the size. I knew I should have gone with my gut. When the dress arrived, I needed help putting it on. I wondered around an empty store saying Hello? looking for anyone. Finally found an employee who I felt was bothering by asking for help. I found that to take my dress in, it would cost three times what I paid. Ended up taking it to a family friend who did a beautiful job taking it in. On what was supposed to be a special moment, felt mediocre. Very disappointed. read more

The customer service here is horrifying. Went here with my maid of honor to check out a couple dresses. Upon walking into the store we were not greeted or acknowledged in any way. We began looking around and picked out a few dresses to try on. As we tried to find someone to help us an employee ran over to us and began demanding to know if we checked in. When we said we had not realized we had to, She then rolled her eyes and said "maybe the Tampa store lets you act like this" and yanked the dresses out of my maid of honor's arms. After yelling at usin front of the entire store we were then ignored and it was made apparent we were not welcome there anymore. I've been to the Clearwater David's Bridal and they are incredibly sweet, so I'm not sure what is wrong with this location. I am in an interracial relationship and my fiancé did drop me off in front of the store, so perhaps this is more of a race issue than anything else. The company should be ashamed of this location. Went prom dress shopping on 1/21 with my daughter - they could not be bothered - the lady that was "assigned" to be with us and assist with dresses did not want to be bothered. She would go and open the dressing room door on my daughter and hold the door open for the whole damned shop to see - there was no privacy in changing - there was no help with styles - I would not recommend them to anyone!!!! It was awful!!! We could not run out of there fast enough. read more

I came in twice without an appointment and short notice for a wedding dress. They handled my procrastination professionally. I found my dress and was pleased with the price. Alterations were terrible. Charged for something that they had to fix anyway. The dress I really wanted was not in my size at this location and asked them to call. They said wasn't at their other locations but after I went home I called and one of the other locations had my size. I'll never go to David's Bridal again. I actually bought my wedding dress there years ago but won't go back. read more
