David's bridal made such an impression on me today! Upon entrance Emily greeted me and my daughter with a cheerful and welcoming smile. We signed in and then she asked what was the occasion we were shopping for. She directed us where to look and then helped up bring a dress to the fitting room to be tried on. She made my daughter's experience such a positive one making accessory suggestions and assuring my daughter was happy with the selections. She went above and beyond with excellent customer service. At checkout Dora who was at the register was so patient and kind. The two additional women who were there I was unable to get their names were also so nice and made my daughter feel special. read more

Ohhh where do I even begin My family and friends came here to find bridesmaid dresses, expecting, y'know, help?? Support?? A little guidance?? A good time even?? But what we got was a fever dream of confusion and awkward silence. So we get assigned this lady named Silvana A, and at first we're like okayyy, she seems nice. But plot twist: she was more interested in chatting it up with her friend across the store than doing literally anything else. Like hello??? I'm over here tangled in a zipper, looking like a rotisserie chicken mid-flip, and she's talking about her weekend plans. Girl. Be serious. Also--correct me if I'm wrong--but isn't the point of working at a dress store to like... help us with dresses? Zipping? Clipping? Giving suggestions? Nope! We were doing DIY fittings like it was Project Runway: Abandoned Edition. At one point my friend literally had to army-crawl across the fitting room floor to grab her own dress. Silvana? Still chatting. Not a care in the world. AND THEN we were being rushed. RUSHED. We're frantically trying to zip each other up like some chaotic girl scout troop with no leader, and she's hovering like "are you guys done yet?" Ma'am. We are not even zipped. We're barely emotionally stable. It was just not giving "bridal experience." It was giving "please leave." We expected a little help and got absolutely none. Like if I wanted to struggle into dresses alone while being judged from a distance, I would've just gone to the clearance rack at TJ Maxx. Overall 2/10. One point for the lighting. I was really looking forward to bringing my entire bridal party to this store for a special experience, but unfortunately it was completely ruined. When I originally booked the appointment, I wasn't told that bringing my flower girl would require a separate booking. I assumed--reasonably--that she was part of my bridal party, as she is in my wedding. The store was empty when we arrived, and everything started off well. The staff were pleasant at first, but once they noticed we had a flower girl with us, their attitude changed drastically. We were told she wasn't considered part of the bridal party and couldn't look at dresses because we hadn't made an extra appointment--something I was never informed of when I booked. Instead of offering a solution or showing any flexibility, they made us feel unwelcome and like we had done something wrong. It was disappointing and upsetting, especially for what should have been a joyful and memorable experience with the people closest to me. They also did not help us at all with trying on the dresses. I wouldn't recommend this store for anyone hoping to be treated with kindness or understanding during such an important moment. read more

I worked at DB for 6 months. The managers and the staff are amazing, supportive, friendly and great work environment. However, the corporate side needs to better understand store operations. The system is outdated, appointments often get overbooked, and there aren't enough stylists to meet demand. Stylists DO NOT earn commission and must assist customers, clean, and reset the space within 90 mins. Customer are unaware of these challenges, and staff unfortunately take the blame for issues beyond their control. CSR are not trained stylist, and it's unfair to expect them to provide expert help by customers. Many employees are college students doing the best, and their deserve respect. To customers: please be kind, make appointments, and come prepared. My one star is for the corporation, not the in-store staff. read more

ALL 7 of my bridesmaids needed to return their dresses because they were 2 sizes too big. And when they went to pick up their dresses and wanted to return they were told that they had to come back another day because the system can take up to 48 hours to update before they could return for the smaller size. Then when you try to return if it's over 7 days since you cannot do at the time of pick up the Manager "HOPE" refused to make the ex change. My wedding is in June and I was told at the time of purchase that returns can be done with receipt and ensure tags are intact which they were. I was specifically told that the beauty of ordering early is that you have time to return as needed. Hopes poor customer service has added additional stress to my life. She should not even be in that role. I asked to speak to someone higher up, her manager and she said there is no one call customer service. I am sure she reports to someone. She even did not want to provide me with her last name. She said I do not have to give you that. I also had an appointment for my mother that same day and no one was assigned to me to help. Needless to say I will never purchase from here again. I have two bridesmaids with dresses 2 sizes Too big. I will be escalating this all the way up to corporate because there is no reason why they should not exchange the size. I think this place is decent. There's not really a good system to save dresses online and submit them before an appointment. Maybe it works better if I had called. They didn't have all the dresses I had marked from the website, but they had a few and I'm pragmatic. One worked and was a great price. The dressing rooms don't have mirrors so you have to come out to see them, which feels a little manipulative. The salesgirl that helped me did try to show me some good options and asked me to articulate my thoughts on each one. The dress was a great price but she ominously said it would take up to 3 months for it to come in. So I ordered it online and received in a few days. The veils they had in stock were really expensive too. When I called for an alteration appointment, they only had appointments months out. Overall I was really happy with and loved my dress on my wedding day, but the misleading on ship time got me to order online and thus not get a veil or alterations in house because it didn't make sense to at that point. I recommend having an appointment and maybe calling in to see if they have dresses, but don't feel pressured to buy. read more

I arrived for my scheduled appointment to try on mother of the bride dresses on time and I was told that my consultant would be with me shortly. I was advised to go start looking at dresses. I picked out about six dresses. Still, my consultant had not introduced herself to me, or given me any service. I went back to the front desk and asked who is my consultant? At that point I was told that Nadia was my consultant: she did not pick out a single dress for me. She did not knock on my door to check on me and she did not assist me in anyway with trying on any dresses. I did ask for a different size in hopes that she would retrieve it for me. Waited 20 minutes...I left. Nadia's entire focus was on a woman who was trying on wedding dresses, which leads me to believe that her position is mostly commission based, and if there is someone who is buying a more expensive dress, they will get the attention of the consultant. My Personal Experience: We visited this David's Bridal location recently to purchase a gown we had seen online for my daughter's Mis Quince photos. We came in on a Monday around 4:45pm and the store was virtually empty except for a group of women with their mother trying on MOB dresses. When we checked in the young lady at the front was very nice and told us she would be by to help us in a moment. We proceeded to look through the dresses for 20 minutes dragging the heavy gowns around ourselves while no one asked if they could start us a room, etc. Finally I had to set the dresses down because they were too heavy to hold AND continue to look. I set them immediately next to me on the rack and a very snippy sales woman came by and said "if you are done with those I can take them, you don't need to leave them there." Look, I am not a 20 year old bridesmaid who is easily intimidated. I looked at her and said, "actually, we are not done, but since we haven't had any help these have just gotten too heavy to carry and I can't continue to shop while I hold them." She looked embarrassed and offered us a fitting room to hold the dresses. I thanked her and we finished looking. When we went back to try on the gowns they were placed in front of room 17. When I picked up the dresses and looked in the room someone else's things where in there and I was abruptly told I was 'Supposed to be in room 21'...how would I know that if my gowns are in front of room 17? No one came by from sales the entire 25 minutes we tried on dresses. Toward the end the very nice gentleman from alterations stopped by to look at a dress my daughter was considering that was a big loose on her and chatted about some adjustments. That was it. We then wandered the store to locate the accessories as we also wanted earrings and a tiara. I finally located them in the back corner of the store. The area was messy and under merchandised. Virtually NO headpieces. At this point I am STILL lugging around this large puffy dress. I have carpal tunnel so at this stage I am starting to get frustrated and so is my sweet daughter. We finally decided to bypass any additional items and pay for the gown and leave. The young lady who checked us out is the same woman who checked us in. I was told if I signed up for the Diamond Club I would get an additional discount. So I did, giving all my email info. Then I was told that the Diamond discount was not valid because the dress was 40% off for the prom sale. Seemed like a scam way to gather email data to me. This is not the David's Bridal I remember. Terrible service, rundown store (it honestly didn't even smell nice), awful merchandising. From what I could see there were some lovely wedding gown options but if I were a bridal customer and this was my experience here I would NEVER buy here. It's a shame because we have another daughter getting married soon and I would have loved to bring her back but not with this level of service. Overall, did my daughter get the gown she wanted, yes. Was it the experience we had hoped for. Nope. This could have been such a nice experience for her and it was kind of like buying a dress in a run down Target. Now My Professional Critique: I have worked in retail merchandising and product development for a LONG time at a Director level and there are some serious issues here. If David's Bridal is going to turn this ship around they have to start from the ground up. They either need to reinvest in the stores or just close them (or at least the under performing ones to support the key doors). This store literally SMELT bad! It was rundown and old and just felt out of date. The dresses were crammed on racks with very few on mannequins to drive excitement. This next generation of brides is all about experience and this is NOT IT. There was some nice gowns but the presentation was AWFUL. There was limited highlight or special branding given to the designer gowns.... how does the customer know they are there? Then there's the upselling.... I was clearly in there for a special event and even at the point of purchase NO ONE TRIED TO UPSELL me! Don't you want to sell the accessories? Are their shoes or earrings that match? Tiara maybe? Try a little bit here people. It's completely quiet in here on a Monday night!! Other things I noticed.... there were fun add on items and great trend items like Bridal Denim jackets but they are hidden in the back. We randomly happened upon them. Why are those not up front to promote add on sale? I digress...but wow....just wow. I hope after DB gets its digital strategy launched it works on its brick and mortar because it needs some help. All my feedback said..... if you want a quick in and out and a value then this is for you. Avoid David's Bridal if you can. Have yet to receive a refund for a dress returned months ago. Customer service both in store and online have been zero help. Sent message to their emails with no response. Some associates in store quite literally and actively avoid helping. Heard one associate loudly complain both about working there and the customers she was helping. Regardless, I am still without refund for expensive dress. Went to an appointment with my best friend who needed to get a new MOH dress (due to her pregnancy) for our other friend's upcoming wedding due. Dana was so patient and amazing! She not only pulled styles and colors that my bff requested, but she also offered up her own suggestions (one of which my bff ended up purchasing). Due to the wedding date being less than a month away, Dana was also able to help us figure out which dresses would arrive on time and what size to order since my bff is still growing. Dana not only helped us find a dress, but turned the experience from something sad to something fun! I will definitely go back to this location and ask for Dana for my next special occasion! read more

Buyer beware! I purchased a bridesmaid gown from this David's Bridal location in January, received the gown in April and got 2 rounds of alterations done. After receiving my gown back following the second round of alterations, I immediately noticed that there was a stain on the dress that was not there before that looked like either a water stain from a steamer or an oil stain. The seamstress noticed this immediately as well and said it might have been from the sewing machinery. I gave the dress back to the store to try and get the stain out and had a back and forth with them over the course of several days on the phone. I spoke with the store's assistant manager, Jemella (not sure of the spelling), who suggested that maybe the stain was always there on the dress. (It was not, and even if it was, it is still a defect of the dress!) After they tried to get the stain out, they said there was nothing else they could do: They were not able to get me a new dress and they refussd to refund me any portion of the $220 I spent on the dress and alterations. I went back in to pick up the dress and the stain was indeed still there. I asked again very politely about getting any money back and Jemella said the store manager Hope refused because it was her opinion that they did their best to get the stain out and the stain was small enough that they don't feel they need to offer a refund. The wedding I am in is in less than 2 weeks. When I tried the dress on, my husband and loved ones immediately noticed the stain (which is in the front by my knees). I am shocked that a national chain like David's Bridal would treat their customers so poorly by not taking accountability for their mistake (either staining my dress during alterations or selling a defective product) and expecting their customers to pay full price for a defective item. I will no longer be frequenting this or any David's Bridal in the future. read more

I will say when i went to buy my dress I had a great time. And a wonderful experience. So me coming back to shop for bridemaids dresses was a no brainer. It was super crowded which was to be expected...after all its a Saturday at 3pm. the dress shopping part wasn't too painful. I tried to make it quick and easy. I hate shopping so the faster the better. Here's where the no star if I could give, comes in. It is the harsh asshole body shaming that the seamstress decided to dish out. ***But before I jump into that I would like to say the girl that was working the counter whose name I can't remember did an AMAZING job talking to me and my friend after my incident and even apologizing when she did nothing wrong.**** I went to get a dress for one of the girls who was not able to come. Apparently the seamstress has a master class on the female body and how we ALL have to be one size, one shape, and basically to be more blunt have to fit into the white/European standards of body image. And to state the obvious I'm not!! And she kept going, as if the more she talked the ruder she became. This conversation made me noticeably angry that the stylist tried to come up with some half ass reason saying "the seamstress is from...and she says what she thinks..."So basically I'm told my feelings need to be adjusted because of someone else's background..." NO MA"AM! This honestly ruined the entire experience and my day. read more

This review is specifically about my great experience with my Stylist, Patricia Digiaimo. This was my first time shopping for a wedding dress and to be honest, I wasn't very excited. I've heard bad things about stylists either pointing out your flaws or trying to get you to fall in love with a dress way out of your budget. This was not the case with me! I arrived with my Mom and we had a few minutes to browse the showroom before Patricia greeted us. She asked me about a few details for the wedding, and I showed her a few pictures of dresses I liked. One of them was from David's Bridal and the others were from elsewhere. She grabbed me 5 or 6 gowns, all different styles but mostly the silhouette I was interested in. When I came out in the first dress, Patricia was waiting for me with a beautiful flower crown to put on as I tried on the rest of the dresses and it was a really sweet touch that made me feel extra special. As I picked out my own flaws, she kept showering me with compliments. She never once tried to pressure me into buying anything. I cannot get over how sweet and kind she was! She brought me a few veils, gave me information about changes that could be made to dresses with alterations, and was overall so incredibly helpful. Initially I came just to browse and planned on buying my dress elsewhere, but the first dress I tried on ended up being the one. I didn't buy the dress during that appointment as I wanted to show a few loved ones the dresses and get their feedback before pulling the trigger. I ended up buying it on their website. I wish there was a way she could get credit for my purchase! Thank you so very much Patricia! I recommend anyone who goes shopping for a wedding to go straight to her. I bought two dresses on-line in two different sizes for my daughter's formal cotillion. When I went to return the dress that was too big, I was met with the rudest, most vile "manager" I have encountered in a long time. She started off our interaction by not greeting me, staring at me as if to say "what do you want?", then, once I communicated my need she went into a long stretch complaining that on-line returns can take up to 90 minutes (apparently their systems are awful). Once she got on the register it turned out that she didn't actually know how to do an on-line return because she was relatively new. She asked me to call the customer service number (which was out of order), then asked me to text the David Bridal's text number for help. Seriously? So, let's review: the "manager" had a bad attitude, a horrible disposition, zero customer service skills and is totally incompetent. Absolutely ridiculous. Eventually, one of the other store clerks clocked in and handled the return. Never again will I ever purchase anything on-line from David's Bridal, nor will I ever step foot in this establishment for any reason. People like her are the reason that Amazon is successfully shuttering brick and mortar stores. I would rate this store 0/10 stars but I had to give 1 star in order to leave this review. read more

This evening was supposed to be a nice experience for my mom my daughter and myself instead it was a very disappointing one. Had an appointment at 6 o'clock. We did arrive late so we understood that we would only be able to try on dresses for 30 minutes, however it was rush, rush, rush from the moment we got there. I will say the first girl that helped us, Emily, did OK. She spoke to us and try to help when we had a question but again rushing, first she said we had 12 minutes then one minute it was ridiculous, especially when there was no one in the store but us! In the interim of trying on dresses my mom had to use the restroom and so she did and returned to try on dresses. At this point, we are done trying dresses because it is now 7 o'clock and we wanted to respect the protocol. We decided to look around since the website says the store closes at 9:00 pm. We asked Emily what time does the store close? She said 8:00 pm which didn't make sense but OK we still had one hour so we figured we'll just look around to see if there are any other dresses we see and we'll go on the website and purchase it. At this point the other woman, Hope, proceeded to ask my daughter, and I quote. "Did your grandma get sick in the bathroom because it really smells in there (she does a hand motion for smell) all this while holding a Lysol spray in her hand" THAT WAS SO RUDE, VERY RUDE!! First of all you don't ask such things to customers, despite the fact that using the bathroom is a very natural process! We all go to the bathroom, and no one's bowel movement smells like roses! If it was her (Hope) responsibility to clean the bathroom then that's what she should have done. She should've never put us all in that embarrassing position! How dare she ask whether someone used the bathroom that's none of her business ! That is terrible customer service terrible! Then at least three times we were asked "are you going to make an appointment to come back so you can try on dresses" (each time we said no ) so once again they're rushing us out of the store. The third time Hope, with her hand over her mouth and nose as if we smelled, asked us " are you making another appointment because I don't feel well I'm sick and the other girl is in the bathroom" I said to her so you want us to leave she said yes, so I grabbed my mom and my daughter and we started to head out but right before leaving we see her (Hope) with the garbage can on top of the register supposedly puking. whether she was sick or not, I couldn't tell you, but that is not the point you don't treat customers like that, as if they had a plague , you don't embarrass them by asking whether we got sick in the bathroom or not, or whether we went to the bathroom or not that is certainly not proper etiquette. It's your job to treat customers with respect ! Then as I browsed and found some dresses on my own the fitting room doors were all open and there were two with people next to me and I went into the open one and she demanded that I go to the other side and I asked why when there are people next to me. When it came time for the alterations the seamstress said it couldn't be done because the sleeves weren't "off shoulder" as the dress wasn't created that day. My fiancé and I decided to continue with our wedding in July as planned, so I needed a dress ASAP. The associate that took care of me, Sarah, was awesome! She offered me several great dress options and understood exactly was I was looking for. She also helped me select a beautiful headpiece. So happy I was able to find the perfect dress in less than 3 weeks away from the wedding! Also, the store insert was very clean, which is a big plus during the current climate. MUSTTTT READDDD!!!!!!!!!!!! 1/2 a star... I had such a horrible experience at this David's bridal. I went to try bridesmaids dresses on. The first one I tried on was perfect!! I loved it and knew it was the one, so we went straight to the front to put the order in. The day I have the dress shipped in I go right there to try it on.. it was a sooo short! And a completely different back design... the one I tried on was long so I didn't need to order an extra long, the straps were spaghetti straps going straight down... but the one I received had a cross back... they were confused, we walked to the front to make sure it's the right order number... the lady was trying to convince me that I tried on this dress during my fitting... I'm like I never tried on a dress with a cross back.. and actually I have pictures of all my dresses I tired on... they eventually said ohh looks like the women put the order number in wrong instead of 67 it was 97... I'm like okay not bad just order the dress I originally tired on... they're like wait we don't even have this dress in our system... long story short I tried on a dress that was defective and shouldn't have touched foot on the floor.. I was soo upset because my event was literally like 2 weeks away.. I literally cried... they tried to fix the problem they put me in a dress that was extra long, a size bigger.. they put size 10.. I'm a size 8 plus the dress had sleeves... so I'm like okay I can deal with this dress but I don't like the sleeves. The alterations manger Grace was with me trying to solve the problem she said since they messed up she will take care of the straps for me for free they would make it spaghetti straps for me.. I'm like omg your my life saver, even gave me her card... now the dress comes in! I go back the second time to get my order.. it fits okay! Like I said I'm a size 8 they got a 10 obviously they would need to hem the sides... which is more money for them.. when they are doing alterations with me grace was working on someone else... so I tired explaining to the other women what's getting done... she puts sewing needles ln the dress to hem it as well... dress looked great!! Now it was money time.. let's see how much this will cost.. grace grabs my sheet and we got to the front.. she says now it's going to be $190.. I look at her I'm like excuse me?!? Umm I don't think so! What am I being charge with... she says side hem, length hem, straps and rush fee... I obviously argue with them since grace told me she would take care of the sleeves for me since they fucked up! I'm like you told me you personal was taking care of that, why am I being charged... she says " well we don't work for free" I laughed!! Like you guys fucked up!! Not me! She runs around to find the manger and doesn't come back.. the manger took off the sleeves and the rush fee.. in which I shouldn't be paying for a rushing fee if the first dress was an actual dress In the system, it would have been perfect!!! So I end up paying $125 meanwhile my dress was only $129... I go to pick up my dress after all of the alterations! Looks fucking great!! I never got it hemed since I just said I'll wear heels fuck it.. now I drive to upstate for the wedding.... When I'm putting the dress on since I only have 10 minutes until we were taking pictures... a stitch by my breasts came undone after carefully putting on the dress for only the SECOND TIME! First time at David's bridal .... I'm like wtf! I never told them to do anything with that but it fell apart so my breast are literally hanging out! Thank god for breast tape since I had to tape it shut!! Plus on the back by the zipper there is supposed to be a metal clip... I only had one piece so the dress only zipper... it wasn't able to hook it... after my experience with my dress I call David's bridal to talk to a manager... i explain what happened the day of the wedding... she like okay I'm going to go talk to my manager to see what I can do.. never calls me back... it's been a week now.I had such a horrible experience here never again will I buy a dress from them and get scammed! My mother and I came in today to search for a dress for her wedding. We had a wonderful experience and are very grateful to have had Tina attending us! She had great energy and was beyond helpful, as well as knowledgeable. She found many dresses for my mother to try on, with her style preferences and budget in mind. She also showed us many accessories and veils. My mother walked out of here such a happy bride to be with her dress, veil and hair accessories! I was very happy with my dress and the service at David's Bridal in Totowa, NJ. Daniella, my seamstress went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and offered suggestions for my dress that I never would have thought of. My dress was on sale and was a good value for the quality. It was my second wedding so I was a little easier to please. My only complaint is that the chain as a whole seems to be under staffed and often I had a long wait for my fittings, Also, the personal touches were sometimes missing with a chain bridal shop. I honestly can't believe the negative feedback for this store! My experience in finding a wedding dress was nothing but positive! When we first entered we were greeted by the host who congratulated me on my engagement and let us browse while we waited for our consultant. She smiled and was so pleasant. Honestly this makes a huge difference when walking into a store!! Overall, our consultant was friendly, patient, and helpful. She even had a colleague help us too and the joint effort made the entire transaction work perfectly! There were lots of dresses, designers, and sizes for everyone! It was a bit hectic with people trying on prom, bridesmaid, and wedding dresses at the same time but I can't complain about the customer service. The only suggestion I would have is that they may want to separate the wedding area because it should be more intimate. Otherwise I was thrilled with the great array of options! A+++ bridal consultants and I SAID YES TO THE DRESS!!!! read more

Business ethics in question at this establishment. They order your dress a few sizes too big so they can charge for pricy alterations. When we questioned the overcharge, discussion took place among several staff/managers & then we're dismissed with no consideration or solution. read more

Debated between 2 to 3 stars. Settled on 3 because compared to the other David's Bridal I visited, this location is better in terms of customer service. I have resigned myself to the fact that as a sole bridesmaid, I will not get the same treatment as a bride surrounded by an entourage would at David's Bridal. Having said that, I would at least appreciate my appointment being honored - which it was in letter (they didn't turn me away) but not in spirit (I stood around for 20 minutes past my appointment, and finally had to go back to the check-in desk to advocate for myself). At that point, I even said that I don't need a real stylist - I just need someone to orient me to where I can find the dresses I wanted and assign me a room. I literally got just that - was assigned to Jackie who was helpful and polite but, I think, was torn in multiple directions. Aside from a check-in 10 minutes into my appointment, I never saw her again. Having said that, though, I was able to find another person who helped me with finding one last dress in the size that I needed. I feel like this location has the potential to be much better, but unfortunately it really does feel to me they overbook their weekend appointments. As a result I feel like my time and my business were not treated as valuable. Also, many of their employees, especially the younger ones, look unhappy and stressed, and wouldn't even meet my eyes or smile when I spoke to them at the check-in desk. As a result I'm learning to set my bar low when I am forced to go to DB for their VW White line - really the only reason I even bother shopping with DB anymore. read more

The location is clean and looks nice. Some dresses had makeup on them. Dress sizes were inconsistent across styles. The staff were very helpful and kind. They were great about finding different sizes and styles. read more
