I had David recommended to me by another handyman a few years ago for a simple job, just bolting some bookshelves to the wall (after I nicked a pipe trying to do it myself!). He was fast, personable, funny, and reasonably priced. Recently I called him back to finish our backyard shed into an office--insulation, drywall, paint, and wall-to-wall shelving. In our initial consultation, he gave me a quote and called back later that day to amend it, noting that we'd added a lot of items to our to-do list during our meeting and that he'd feel more comfortable with an additional day of work. Just tried to schedule an appointment with David. He gave me an option on a Thursday between 2:30-3 and I told him I would have to move a work meeting but will do so. He then calls back a few hours later and tells he he overbooked himself. I reminded him that I just moved a meeting but ok, let's look at another date. A few hours ago he was available Saturday but now he is not. Fine, we look at Monday. I told him I would get out of work as early as I could At 3. He said, ok 3 at the latest. Then suddenly changes his mind and says no it has to be 2. I tell him I can't get out of work that early and he says, "sorry but I'm not going to sit in traffic". ??? I would love to have a job where I don't have to sit in traffic! Must be nice! If you like being given the runaround, moving your schedule around only to have him cancel and tell you he doesn't like traffic then this is the guy for you. As for me, I am moving on. read more

A serious window leak was exposed in recent hard rains (late Nov '18). Before next week's storm arrives I needed to get that fixed ASAP. I called Dave. He's very personable. David and Adrian came to my rescue a few weeks ago when a window install went bad. They were able to squeeze me in same day after my frantic call. They came on time, worked fast, seemed knowledgeable and were reasonably priced. I had them come the following day and be on standby in order to avoid any more delays in the window install and I gave them a laundry list of random things I needed fixed around the house. They did it all! They also gave me some tips on things I could fix myself. My only complaint is that the clear silicon they used on the outside to frame the window was done sloppy and made it difficult to paint. Other than that, all was great! read more

I called David to fix my backyard door and install some new closet doors. He was recommended to me by another handyman and I saw that his Yelp reviews were mostly positive so I decided to give him a try. I am glad I did. He responded quickly to my initial contact and came over that very afternoon to take a look at the work needed, offer some solutions and provided a reasonable quote. He returned just a few days later to complete the job. He arrived on time, got everything done in a timely manner, and even cut down my old closet doors so that I could fit them in my trash bin, thus avoiding a dump fee. I found David's number on YELP after I had waited in good faith for another handyman to arrive for a week (I'm easy to get along with). David called back within 30 minutes after leaving a message on his voice mail. I made an appointment and his partner Craig arrived within an acceptable time along with his helper John. They worked continuously, even through the lunch hour, to complete the project within the estimated time. There was a slight glitch with the electrical connection that I didn't notice until later in the day (Craig is not trained as an electrician and the extra wires at the connection location was confusing to say the least). This is an update to my last review. I initially gave them 2 stars and now that I have had the opportunity to look at their work close up, and have a contractor come over and evaluate the work, I would give them 0 stars if I could. The work look is totally unprofessional. The contractor told me he needs to re-do or complete most of it. I left 2 messages for the owner to discuss the situation and give him the opportunity to fix the problems but he doesn't return my calls. David was recommended to me by another handyman who was unfortunately too busy to assist me in a timely manner. So I called David. It took him nearly 5 days to return my call. I was a bit skeptical, but figured hey, people get busy. We agreed upon a day and time. On that day, someone named Craig appears at my door. I thought David was coming over because that's who I talked to. If you're sending a subcontractor over, wouldn't it be a good idea to mention that ahead of time. I'm not about to let a total stranger into my house. So I had to call David to confirm that indeed he had sent Craig to my house. The job was to remove the existing light fixture in my kitchen and install a new one and repaint the ceiling. To say they did a sloppy job is an understatement. They didn't cover anything in the kitchen. Consequently my whole kitchen was covered in dust and paint chips when they left. I had to throw out 4 boxes of cereal (That's about $20 down the drain) and wash every single dish and piece of silverware I own. Also, they didn't paint the whole ceiling, just the part around the fixture, and you could totally tell where the new paint ended and the old paint began. Not a good look. I called David to complain and to his credit, he called back in a reasonable amount of time and sent Craig back to my house today to repaint the ceiling and clean up their mess. This time, while they did cover everything, they weren't careful in removing the covers and now I've got dust and paint chips all over my counter and appliances again. Not to mention they just yelled "we're done!" and left without allowing me to inspect their work. I mean, I paid good money for this work. Was I keeping them from something far more important? Is it too much to ask for them to take a little pride in their work and take care when inside another person's home? I had a few more projects around the house, but I will definitely look elsewhere for assistance from now on. read more

Dave was fantastic. He got back to me within a few hours, he showed up on time, was very neat with his work, and cleaned up perfectly after he was done. I had him run wires from my mounted TV through the wall, into a closet, and to the electrical and cable sockets below. Our usual handyman could not help us because he is always overloaded. He referred us to David as "the guy who taught me all I know". We bought a rental house that needed major facelift. David, Adrian & Don hung security screen doors, installed closet doors, painted, electrical work, mounted mirror, installed faucets, r/r light fixtures and wall plates, stucco patch n paint. Plus picked up large items at Home Depot for the job. Also took usable fixtures for donation to Habitat for Humanity. If they can't fix it, then it can't be fixed. Job took 2 1/2 days. If you need a handyman,David`s the best. I needed some boards replaced on a wooden driveway gate. I called David and he came out the next day to give me an estimate. He agreed to do the work and would be back in two days and that he would pick up the necessary materials. He showed up a half an hour early and completed the work in one hour just like he said. Excellent carpenter!! I thought I was going to have to replace the entire gate. Thanks to David I did not. Very honest and reasonable. He charged me for materials plus one hour of labor. If I could give David a six out of five I would. David under-promised and over-delivered. His estimate was spot on, but he finished the job faster than he said he probably would be able to do it and did quality carpentry work. David rebuilt and painted some cabinet boxes in a rental unit of mine, retiled parts of the counter and backsplash, and made new cabinet doors for ones that were damaged from multiple water issues in the unit. David even replaced the blinds in the unit for free, because the previous workers doing the dry out damaged them. David was extremely responsive during the whole time and I was told by my tenant that he worked hard the entire time he was there and had a friendly attitude with her family. David also brought the extra paint to my house (along with other paint from the unit being repainted) in case I wanted to do any touch ups in the future or needed a color match. He was honest about a plumbing issue with the dishwasher that would be best handled by someone else. As a landlord I appreciate his honesty and not telling me that he can do something that I should hire someone else for. I will definitely be calling David to see if he is available for future repairs. If you want need an honest handyman that is professional, then David is your man. read more
