Some wall work

I highly recommend Dave for any home repair or improvement needs! He was professional, punctual (always early), and incredibly skilled. Dave and his colleague Arnulfo remodeled our guest bathroom with great attention to detail. Tore out the subfloor, walls, redirected some plumbing, and did the electrical. The subfloor repair was a beast in itself, everything was water damaged and rotting, and he reframed the entire floor, now the most secure portion of the house :). He was easy to work with, very communicative, and has competitive pricing, what else can you ask for. Great guy overall. Thanks Dave! Look forward to working with you again.

Dave did every inch of this bathroom. Down to the foundation.

Oh Dave. Where can I even begin. First, 10 stars. 100 stars. Dave is the absolute best. Dave is the nicest man and somehow knows how to do everything. He will treat your home as his own, and will never cut corners. We've hired Dave to do things as small as hang a door to as large as a whole bathroom remodel. For our bathroom, Dave and his partner Arnolfo stripped the room to the studs, and then instead of running away when they found the rot and flipper chaos underneath, took the time and repaired things right. They replaced old cast iron pipes, braced our foundation, reframed, rerouted plumbing, electrical.... You name it, they did it. Our bathroom is STUNNING. STUNNING. They executed my intricate tile demands flawlessly, had design ideas to improve our plans, they leveled our floor, which, if you know our house you would know what a huge thing that is... I can't thank them enough. Daves prices are too reasonable, his work is top notch and he's a great guy. Hire this man. Unless I need him, then me first!

I have been through over a dozen handymen over the years, and none of them come close to the expertise and precision Dave has. Dave handled multiple projects in my home and completed them efficiently & effectively. He was always on schedule and communication has always been transparent. His competitive pricing is just icing on the cake. I can't get over the end result of my mini renovations in the restrooms, along with all of the other things he did around the house. This is truly a stand-up guy, and I'm glad I found him.

JUST A HEADS UP!! Going by the reviews Dave sounded like a great guy. As busy as he was, he went out of his way to find time for me and was to quickly stop by and give me a quote - which I GREATLY appreciated. It was for 8 am on a Saturday. The day of the appointment I wasn't feeling great but instead of canceling I dragged myself out of bed and made myself decent before the early appointment. HE NEVER SHOWED. No text, no email, no phone call. What is with these freelance guys?!?!? Never again. No stars if it would let me.

Dave is GREAT!! We needed to have a faucet replaced with a new one in our half-bath. I sent a message out to him yesterday and this morning, he responded. To our luck, he was in the neighborhood. And just like that, he showed up, removed the old faucet and installed the new one. We will definitely have him back for other projects. Can't beat his kindness, craftmanship and price! And, a Veteran too. Awesome guy. Thanks, Dave!!

Dave ground down the lifted edge of my concrete walkway, which had become a significant tripping hazard. It's perfect! Dave responds promptly, arrives when he says he's going to, works quickly, and cleans up any mess. He is polite, respectful, knowledgeable, efficient, and listens to what it is that you want. I'd hire him again in a heartbeat!

You can see where he painted around the outlets when he was done with the sprayer
Tracie M.

In retrospect there were several red flags that I should have noticed. 1. During the discussion of the estimate he instructed me to get my own paint and to move the furniture myself. I told him that I had just had back surgery. I have a disability. I would not be able to move the furniture: His response? I will move it but I will charge you extra $$. I have this IN WRITING. Unprofessional. 2. When he entered my home there was an overwhelming stench of cigarettes. I don't allow anyone to smoke in my home, and I had to worry the entire time whether or not he was smoking. Unprofessional. 3. A licensed contractor came over to give me a bid on re-doing this mess. He said it would take 6-8 hours to complete. That includes moving and COVERING the furniture, prep work, taping, painting with a roller (versus a sprayer), allowing it to dry properly and moving the furniture back. The only way it could be done in 2 hours is to skip crucial steps. Furniture was NOT covered (which he admitted) and a sprayer was used, incomplete paint around outlets shows that no prep work/sloppy prep work was done. I will have to have it all re-done by a professional this time. 4. I should have read all the reviews carefully to see which ones were real and which ones were written by family or friends. One has been posted since this incident which is highly suspicious: a person who has only left ONE review and it was for changing a lightbulb? This is YELP, not Jerry Springer. I will pay attention to these red flags in the future.

Old horrible door

We had a side garage door that needed to be installed as well as a couple of light fixtures. It wasn't a job I could do but my wife found Dave on Yelp so we decided to contact him. He came out to give us an estimate which was very reasonable. He's a busy guy so it took several weeks for him to get to our job which was OK (being busy is a good thing). We had already bought the door and lights and we had the paint left over from when we had our house painted. He came a bit early (before 8 when he said he'd get here) which was fine. He got right to work and had the old door out and the new door roughed in within two hours. He did all the trim as well and we had him paint it for us too. He also did the lights and finished up about 3. Oh he also rekeyed the lock for our existing house keys which was nice. We are very pleased with his work and would *highly* recommend Dave. He's a nice personal guy and very easy to work with. If he had a question he would text my wife (from our garage!) instead of banging on the door. Very professional. We will absolutely call on Dave for our next handyman job!

Dave was awesome. He replaced 3 bathroom faucets that looked like a pain to remove. Would recommend him to anyone. Thanks again Dave!

We felt like we were not able to diy this job and Nick and Max had a reasonable price for the work and didn't make us feel bad that it was above our skills. Nick communicated with us through text and kept us informed during the whole time he was scheduling and working on the job. They were tidy during the work and respectful of our kitchen tile. Nick even offered to take our old disposal and dispose of it. They left our kitchen very clean after their work. Nick said if our disposal leaked to contact him and they would come back and fix the leak as part of the job. It did leak and they came back the very next day, added some stuff they picked up on their way to our house and took the whole thing out and reinstalled. It has not leaked since they were last here. We were very impressed with their expertise and customer service and are going to have them do some more jobs at our vintage home. It has been challenging for us to find reliable and reasonable handyman services and are grateful for Sam's Handyman Services with Nick and Max.

We needed several repairs, including fixing sliding closet doors that would no longer open or close properly, repairing and painting sections of drywall, and installing LVP flooring. Nick communicated with us throughout the entire process and provided thoughtful recommendations on the paint and flooring to ensure everything looked great. The pricing was very reasonable, especially considering the high quality of the work. We are extremely pleased with Sam's Handyman Services and grateful for Nick and his team's professionalism and expertise. We will definitely be using them again for future home improvement projects and highly recommend them to others.

He replaced a tub drain in our 78-year-old home where the crossbars had rotted out, replaced the tub spout, fixed the weak flow in the sink, and re-caulked the tub. It looks practically brand new now. I've attempted this in the past and let's just say it wasn't anywhere near as neat as Preston's. The first time he came out he installed two barn doors and they look and work great. Pretty sure this would have costed twice as much with a plumber, if not more. Highly recommend!

Apparently I made a big mistake hiring the Unstoppable Handyman to come out (April 2026) to do some…read morework around my place. The job they agreed to was caulk the bathtub, check the water pressure kitchen sink, look into stabilizing a spigot in the bathtub. The fact they charged me over 32% more than there estimate wasn't even the worst part. I was charged $40 to look at the spigot for them to "make recommendations" after he said he wasn't licensed plumber, which I agreed to. In writing agreement $270 work order, apparently an "estimate" they emailed me. After the work, they charged me $358. I paid this but asked why the price increase? They said the "cost of material" (to caulk a bathtub??) and to caulk around the shower door block guide, which was maybe a few square inches to do. You'd think this would be included in price to caulk the tub, but apparently not. None the less, the caulking work looked good. But here's the problem - and it's a big one. I waited 2 days before using the tub/shower after the caulking to allow drying time. Finally when I used the shower, I noticed the spigot was stabilized, but when I reached down to the spigot to turn the water off, I noticed water coming out from the marble tile. I called and spoke to Preston, who is the owner of Unstoppable Handyman as well as performed the basic work. I explained the spigot was leaking water from behind the wall and I needed someone to come out ASAP to look at it. I sent him a video of me turning on the water, showing water running out from inside the wall. During our brief phone conversation, Preston stated that he's not licensed to do plumbing. He denied causing the leak. He told me, "I didn't touch your pipes," but he admitted to removing the spigot which is connected to the copper pipe. He told me that the original worker who installed the bathtub faucet (spigot) "didn't do the work correctly" and he is "liable"... "it's not up to code"... telling me it wasn't anything that he had done. Here's a logical question - if he didn't touch the plumbing, how does he know how it's "not up to code" or improperly assembled? He already said he's not licensed. I asked him if he removed the bathtub spigot and he said that he did, to spray a "backer foam" to stabilize the spigot. I told him it wasn't leaking before, it's leaking now, and when I asked him if he was going to send someone to fix it, he said no, he would not send anyone or take responsibility for the leak. Before I terminated the phone conversation with Mr. "Preston" I told him I was going to review his business on Yelp, Google and that I would also be putting in a consumer complaint with Unstoppable Handyman with the (BBB) Better Business Bureau, which I have every intention of doing. Preston retaliated during our phone conversation, telling me he was going to report me to my condominium HOA, as he made the false assertion I hired "an unlicensed plumber" who originally did the work, which was totally false. The only one performing unlicensed plumbing work was Preston, when he removed the spigot. Removing a spigot is considered basic plumbing work, which "Preston" admitted to in order to spray a foam behind the tile. Pipes can be damaged when twisting off the spigot if not done properly. My original contractor who installed the shower, Steve Miller, was not only a licensed plumber by trade, he holds a general contractor's license who builds entire houses. I called unstoppable handyman to do this work, mostly caulking, because Steve was in 29 palms building a house. After I called and spoke to Steve explaining the situation, that the guy is a handyman who doesn't have a license to plumb but he removed the spigot, "it's now leaking from behind the marble wall," Steve said the guy probably broke the solder on the pipe joint when he twisted the spigot off. Contractor Steve said the marble tile above the bath tub around the faucet is likely going to have to be removed now to repair the pipe. Contractor Steve asked if Preston offered to refund me, I told him, "no. He denies causing any damage." Steve recommended reporting him to the 'state licensing board' - only problem - I don't even believe Preston is licensed. I'll check. I will be filing an official consumer complaint with the BBB against the business, Unstoppable Handyman. There's no telling how much water could have ran down behind the wall under the bath tub when i showered on Sunday, which could cause floor damage as well as cause a mold problem. The tub and shower can't be used now until I have it repaired by a qualified licensed contractor, which will cost hundreds of dollars if not thousand(s). After I file my complaints against "Preston" with unstoppable handyman (Better Business Bureau, state contractor board licensing ) I might elect to take some time off from work to persue legal action to recoup my financial losses on this. That said, this Yelp review isn't the end, I'm just getting started!
