I needed a handful of clothes hemmed/altered recently so I figured I would try David's since he has such good reviews. Right when I walked in I was met with red flag no. 1. David was NOT friendly at all and seemed annoyed I was even there. Nonetheless, I tried on all my clothes and he marked where they needed to be altered. One was a jacket with buttons on the end of sleeves that he said would cost more because he had to move the buttons, which was fine. Next red flag appeared while I was paying. I paid with cash and as he was counting out my change (which he laid on the counter) he kept grabbing the smaller bills and exchanging them for larger bills and I thought "is this one of those money scams? What the heck is he doing?" Whatever! I'm pretty sure he gave me the right amount so I took my ticket and left. When I returned the next week, David looked at the tag and said "you need to pay!" I was surprised (lost count of the red flags at this point) because I was pretty sure I already paid so I told him "wait, I'm pretty sure I paid. I'm gonna go home and check my bank statements." As soon as I left, I remember I paid in CASH!! When I returned, David was rude, short, and adamant I didn't pay and even accused me of lying to get my alterations for free. Apparently he had marked on my ticket "unpaid," and according to him he "never" makes mistakes. So I was forced to pay AGAIN for my clothes (about $280 in total) and needless to say this was a super crappy experience. Had high hopes for a small local business but unfortunately they didn't deliver in the end. Had a suit fit and dropped a pair of slacks with a small hole to be repaired in the seam just below the side pocket. The suit's hem on the legs is fine but all other alterations were not what had been marked up when I left it. Thankfully still on the big side so it can be saved. The hole in the slacks was not even touched so that will have to go elsewhere. I think when dropping off and picking up people who actually do the alterations were not there which probably could have helped address things. I won't be returning. read more

If I could give a 0 star review, I would. I brought my wedding dress here to be hemmed and have straps added on. It was in the shop for nearly 2 months and when I went in to check on it, the dress was done and hanging, but they hadn't called me to let me know that. The hem job was okay, but fell higher in the back than the front. The straps were extremely poorly done. The strap was barely attached to the dress, and when any tension was put on the strap it twisted. David offered to redo the job until I was satisfied, but could not refund my $200 payment. Given the quality of work already done to my dress, I doubted I would be pleased with any further work. I took my dress to San Juan Alterations instead where she attached new straps, evened the hem out to perfection, and did some further work for less than $100 in less than a week. Additionally, the overall experience with David's Tailoring was just slightly uncomfortable. The changing rooms were dirty, and only one of the two rooms had a hook. Although I loved that it was a family business, and it was very cute for the kids to be playing in the shop, I didn't appreciate the kids playing with the curtain to the changing room while I was changing! read more

An absolute stunning rip off. Guy charges you $50.00 to shorten sleeves on a suit coat. They also have a sign that says alterations while you wait. If that's the case, bring a bed and change of clothes, because it took him a week to do the alteration. Avoid at all costs! read more

DAVID IS THE BEST!!!! I had a wedding that I was recently apart of. The suits took forever to get delivered (they didn't arrive until Monday the week of). I was on the manhunt for an express tailor, I knew my normal tailor (at that time) wouldn't have gotten the job done in time. So I searched on Yelp and David's Tailoring Express was the first thing that popped up and he had amazing reviews. I go to him that next day (Tuesday) nervous and scared because there was a lot that needed to be done to the suit (Buttons needed to be moved, Jacket needed to be taken out, pants need to be tapered and the jacket sleeves needed to be adjusted) and I needed it all done before I got on the plane on Friday to head to the wedding. David eagerly and politely took on the project and said that he would have the suit ready for me on that Thursday (I could have cried). I go to pick up the suit and it was PERFECTION. A suit that initially didn't fit ended up tailored perfectly. Also I ended up having a little too good of a time dancing at the wedding that I tore a small hole in the side of my pants.
