Redfin has been a terrible experience for me. My real estate agent, Patricia Amman in Falls Church,…read moreVA, was extremely unhelpful. She often sent trainees to show me houses instead of assisting me herself. I both sold and bought a house through her, but she provided little guidance on preparing my home for sale and often had a dismissive attitude. My ex even chose not to work with her for that reason. When I purchased my current home, she advised me to offer as much as I could without properly investigating the property. She later sent another new agent to complete the inspection after I had already agreed to buy. As a result, I ended up with a 20-year-old HVAC system and water heater -- issues I wasn't made aware of -- and I significantly overpaid for the house. When I posted an honest review about my experience, Redfin blocked me and told me I could no longer use their services. That's fine -- I wouldn't use them again anyway. I lost a lot of money through this process, and I believe Redfin and this agent acted unprofessionally and without integrity.

The services they offer are top notch 2. They represent you; when they say if you buy and sell with us, you get a refund, they mean it! So our goal was to move from Germantown, a big house, to a smaller house. We worked with our agent, and we were able to sell our house (5 days) and get our new house (a little longer, we are picky)! Let's start with our Agent. Colette Releford. We have dogs, and they are very important to us. Colette walked into our house for the first we are going on the market soon to meet; our dogs loved her! 1. She listened to what we wanted 2. She was patient and worked as our sales and purchase representative. 3. Full service? On the day of our closing, Colette drove to our old house and took a load of stuff to the new house. I mean, that is Full-Service. So I will end with this we highly recommend RedFIN! They are awesome. But if you are in the Maryland area and need a Realtor why not go with the best Colette rocks!

From start to finish, the entire team was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly responsive. Buying a home can be stressful, but they made the closing process smooth and easy to understand. Every question I had was answered promptly, communication was excellent throughout, and I always felt confident that everything was being handled correctly. Closing day itself was efficient, well organized, and surprisingly stress-free. I especially appreciated the attention to detail and the genuine care they showed throughout the transaction. It's clear they take pride in their work and in providing exceptional service to their clients. If you're looking for a title company that is trustworthy, efficient, and a pleasure to work with, I highly recommend Universal Title in Falls Church. They failed to show up with a copy of the lease (their only defense) during the first trial, and decided to "lawyer up" at the absolute last minute (I found out on the second court date). Now the case is needlessly going to civil court when it probably could have been resolved in small claims. In the meantime I'm left having to cope with this problem (a clear violation of Fairfax County's noise ordinance for 4 months). For a person with severe anxiety this is a literal hospital sentence! Cathy came to the meeting fully prepared with comparable info, and data. Cathy is experienced, knowledgeable and real estate savvy. We listened to her selling advice and how to price our condo for the market today and asked questions. I liked the fact that Cathy fully utilized social media to advertise and market our condo. Cathy is an excellent communicator. She will listen to you as a customer and what your expectations/goals are and will set forth to incorporate them into the sell. We were fully confident that Cathy was representing us for our best interest in the sale of our condo. She will work diligently for you to achieve success! Cathy and her assistants Undrah and Yvonne will keep you apprised of the entire process from start to finish. They are excellent on providing status updates with specific details and answering any questions you may have during the process. We were very pleased with Cathy and her staff. I would definitely refer her to my friends and family. We did refer her to my sister in law and they were pleased with their outcome as well. I picked Frank because he wasn't part of the old guard, the Realtors that believed in the old ways. He was coming out with Frnaklymls at the time, and it allowed me to do a lot of house hunting on my own time, right from home in the evenings with my wife. I don't have the time some Realtors assume you have to go looking at houses. With FranklyMLS I was able to do so much research. That's how I like to shop: online in my own time. But when I had questions or needed help he was right there to assist. I even used it again 6 years later to find my next house (in a different area, so Frank wasn't my Realtor --his suggestion was for me to find a local Realtor that knew the area). Sometimes my Dad will send me links to his Blog forgetting that I know Frank and if I hadn't already read the post, I certainly had plans to do so. Over the years I've gone back to just ask him advice, like "I'm thinking of downsizing and buying something smaller and closer to DC. What do you think about that plan?" He always gave me honest answers that struck me as going against making money. I'm not sure that if I were in his shoes I wouldn't have just said, sure thing, and helped the person pursue their plan. If you want someone with integrity, that isn't it just to make a commission and will truly have your best interests in mind while helping you find that home or sell your home you should choose Frank. If you want some that uses the latest statistics and trends, thoroughly researches it all, you should choose Frank.

Obtaining the services of a real estate agent is much more than "finding someone to sell your…read morehome". This is especially true if you are selling an inherited property as I was earlier this year. A good real estate agent will know the area, know the laws and rules and will help assess your home and get it listed and sold for a "good price". A great real estate agent is a counselor, a partner in your effort, someone who "has your back" throughout the process in addition to doing all of the real estate work. Philippa Main is an *outstanding* real estate agent and an even better person. My father passed away leaving a home in Woodbridge, Virginia - the home in which I grew up and which contained almost 50 years of possessions. I contacted Philippa in March of 2026 to discuss its potential sale even as the house was in significant disarray while I engaged in the slow process of cleaning it out and sorting through the many things my parents had accumulated over the years. When she visited the home, I looked around and threw up my hands. Philippa looked around and said, "we can make this happen." I sought her out specifically because she mentioned having expertise in sales of homes that are inherited - a particular niche that involves a delicate dance of handling family dynamics, wills, probate laws and determining what, if any, money should be put into renovations or improvements that will get a reasonable return on the investment. From our first conversation over the phone - which she took time to do in the middle of a busy weekend - Philippa was incredibly personable, easy to talk to and anticipated many of my questions and many of my concerns as we talked. By the end of our conversation, I felt like I was chatting with a friend who had expertise I needed. Over the following three months, she was a (rapidly-responded-to) text or phone call away as I navigated getting the house ready for sale. She helped outline a schedule and a plan to list the home. She connected me with a large network of trusted service providers from junk removers to contractors to painters to flooring experts from whom I obtained estimates and some of whom I contracted to help clear out the house and prepare it for sale. While she always reiterated that she would back any decision I made regarding the house, I always sought her counsel when making major decisions such as whether or not to spend money on renovations and, if so, which ones were most important. Of course, there were obstacles - some amusing, some less-so - but Philippa helped me handle each one with a confidence borne of having "seen it before". That is an incredibly valuable thing when dealing with a stressful situation. In the end, the home was listed in June and had nearly seventy showings in three days. The house sold for well over its asking price and after all of it I know some things: The home could have been sold by another agent. But few, if any, others could have been a partner in the process the way Philippa was for me. She was a trusted resource, a confidant, a person who knew when to inject humor into a situation and when helping me vent was what was needed - she understands people and the process of selling an inherited home in addition to being a brilliant real estate agent who knows the area and who knows how to get the job done. I couldn't recommend her more for ANY real estate work but, especially, if you face the task of preparing and selling an inherited property.
