This place is HUGE. I came on a weekend for a gathering and it was packed. They do have many lanes and seating for additional guests. I didn't have any issues with the tech of bowling. They do offer food and drinks but seemed to be moving a little slow over the weekend. During holiday break I visited King Pin with my two teens, reserving a lane as a walk in. We opted to pay by the game versus the hour, which alleviated the ticking of the clock. The lanes are still in great shape with seating around the lanes and tables behind for additional seating. Your experience could be affected by who is sharing the lane next to you. For us, all good and the guys near us grabbed a separate table. I did watch the lanes next to us where a family hovered over other bowlers and took up more than their share, edging out the teens who'd been playing prior to them. Some folks have no awareness. The animation for scorekeeping is fun and you can pick options for each game rather than keep the same one. King Pin is still my favorite bowling alley and I'm glad it's in our part of town! read more

I celebrated my 60th birthday party here. Booking was very easy with Ashley who was extremely friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The private area with the 4 lanes were perfect! We didn't have to concern ourselves with the center at large because we felt like we had our own bowling alley which we did!Our server Jacob was attentive and manager Andrew was super helpful. The pizza was fresh and tasty and drinks were always available. So many of my friends commented on how nice the facility is. The bowling pins are a memorable keepsake from this celebratory occasion. Holy moly this place is a rip off. I ordered a tequila and soda and the first bartender charged me for a double shot. Not sure if I got a double, but I didn't check it until I left which is MY bad. But $80 for two drinks, two fries, two sodas which I bought my friends and a soda water?! NOOOOOOOOOOOO. The arcade and bowling is expensive too. It's just NOT affordable for average families. And the fact that it took the first Bartender SO long to pay me any attention should have been a red flag. Oh well. Won't be wasting my money here again!!! read more

Kingpin lanes located off taylorsville road in the Jtown portion of Louisville is a very nice, spacious and state of the art bowling alley. Alley was built I'd say at round 15 years ago and even then was super nice. Unique setup of 25 lanes on each side of the alley so it's easier to navigate from lane to lane. They had a massive lounge area and a huge arcade with cool newer games. Very nice and large cafe and bar area as well. At that time of opening I actually bowled in leagues and bowled in one at this particular alley for about 3 years. Was always very nice and clean with good lane conditions. Over the years while I don't bowl as much anymore I'll still stop In for birthday parties and things. And with this being the nicest, largest and most up to date alley in Louisville it is a popular spot for them. I actually attended a party yesterday (may 2021) and even the things they have done with the lanes and computers is state of the art. So they continue to evolve. Game room is still massive with cool games and they still have a nice cafe with solid food options. Overall a fun place to spend an evening bowling. This lane and a few other alleys across the city participate with the kids bowl free summer program which is a super awesome Program for anyone with kids. They basically can bowl 2 free games a day from may 1st to October 31st. Only thing you have to do is register on site or app. So a great program. read more

They have the BEST fries!!! Perfectly made, some are crunchier than others, which I love, and the others have a soft middle but crispy outer layer. We always have a great time when we're here with our family and friends! Lots of space, always clean, large bathrooms, and my son even had one of his birthday parties here. The customer service at the front desk is friendly and quick. The one thing I would like changes to are the seats for the bowling area. It's hard to play on one lane with other people playing on the other lane and there is only one curved seat for everyone. I do appreciate it when it's not busy and they place everyone appropriately so we get our own space for playing without having to share seats. Other than that, love this place! read more

The latest remodel leaves a lot to be desired. I wish I could write separate reviews for this place. The guys at the front desk are always super cool and very nice to me and my kids. The alleys themselves are all nice, clean, and well taken care of. Lots of cool, funky features you can choose from. If you tell them your kids want the bumpers they set it up and they automatically raise when it's time. The arcade is fun, too. My kids favorite part of Kingpin. Fair amount of choices for little kids to adults. My daughter had her 7th birthday here and the kids had a blast. She got a bowling pin to take home! Here's the bad: the food. Oh man, not even sure where to begin. If you are unfortunate enough to have the crypt keeper take your order, expect anywhere from 5-30 minutes of your life wasted. We had booked a private party for 8 bowlers in the VIP section. It was very affordable and fun. You get put in the back left of the bar section and basically get a whole room to yourself. Bartending was a little slow but it was a Friday night so it was busy, won't judge off that, however the drinks could've been a little bit stronger. When we initially showed up the sofas and common area for our two lanes was trashed pretty bad but they did clean it up asap so that was cool. Food was pretty good as well we got two pizzas and it was a good bowling alley pizza. 6.8/10 experience overall. Would recommend. read more

Husband and I enjoyed this place a lot when we were in town. We are avid gamers and enjoy competing against one another in different types of games. They offer a military discount which was a plus. We bowled for two sessions and ate a ton of food from the concession stand which was surprising really good. I got chicken tenders and friends while my husband got a chicken quesadilla. We also ordered a pitcher of beer. Food was quick and extremely tasty. After we finished bowling, we went to the side bar. In that area, you're not allowed to go in unless accompanied by an adult over the age of 21 since they serve all kinds of alcohol since their a full bar. They had beer, wine, and cocktails. My husband and I spent hours here playing shuffle board, beer pong and billiard aka pool. Afterwards we went to the other side and played some arcade games. All I'm all, my husband and I had a blast! Took my own kids plus a friend of theirs to bowl this afternoon at Kingpin Lanes to beat the heat and keep them active. 2 free games of bowling per kid (sign up at kidsbowlfree.com for this great Summer deal!) so only had to pay the reasonably priced shoe rental. The kids could choose the regular bowling or glow bowling, which was nice! Decent sized kid meal with cheeseburger, fries, drink, and a cookie for $5--my son said the burger was 'actually really good!'. We also shared an order of mozzarella sticks amongst 4 of us and despite not being healthy per se they were tasty and cheese filled vs mostly breading. Got a lane right away, workers were friendly, Lanes operated perfectly with no trouble. Simple good fun! read more

Came here with my boyfriend, and we decided to go to the arcade. I was in a blah mood, but the games turned that around. Ski ball and basketball were fun, and brought out the competitive kid in me. :-) In two games I didn't get tickets and also, half of the machines weren't working. Bowling is fun; and it is half off on Tuesdays. It's just good old fashioned midwestern fun. The lounge is huge, has a full bar and super affordable food menu. (Like, cheaper than fast food these days.) wasn't hungry, so I didn't get anything to eat, but had a vodka cranberry which was only $4. Drew, the bartender, was really pleasant and personable and did a great job. All I have to say is 20$ for a 12" pizza is nuts and it was just 1 topping. I didn't even get it but seen on the menu and thought it was crazy. So we ended up getting a chicken quesadilla it was not good at all for the price. Chicken was plain, the quesadilla wasn't even cut correctly. Ranch dipping sauce was nasty as well. The drinks on the other hand were decent they were reasonably priced I'd say after 2 or 3 you'd be feeling okay lol. Volunteered for special Olympics bowling on saturday. First time I had been to these lanes. I was surprised at how many lanes they had and all the different arcade games they had. The place was clean, everyone was nice and helpful. They offer food, beverages, and adult beverages. read more

This place is the Kingpin of them all! We came here for an impromptu couple of games on a Sunday after lunch. The place is large, clean and well-organized. There were no crowds at this time. It only took about 5 minutes for us to go from stepping up to the counter to picking up the balls to start bowling. This is the first bowling alley I've been to that has such organized racks of balls. I found my 8lb, "medium" ball on the second try! The other nice surprise I saw was in the lane next to us. Call me a true amateur, but I have never seen completely automatic bumpers on the lanes. You can also select which player gets the bumper or not. So when his/her turn comes, the bumper bars just pop up and then recede when the player is done! I am totally amazed! Although the Kingpin did not improve our usual game by much, but we had a lot of fun for not much money. We are ready to return for their famous extreme neon bowling. I might just be amused by those bumpers enough to try it despite the shame! read more

And if you aren't paying attention and put your token in the third skeeball machine.....you are outta luck....it has no balls. It also has no sign or anything indication you shouldn't use it. I really like Kingpin because it seems to be an "upgraded" bowling alley compared to a lot of others in the city. I don't frequent this place often, but it's usually a good time when I do. They've got a lot to offer, like a large number of bowling lanes with widescreen TV's, snack bars, a restaurant and an arcade. The only thing I didn't really like was how you have to pay per hour and not by game (something most bowling alleys are starting to shift towards.) read more

If you have a big party make sure to call ahead and be placed on the wait list. Other than that. This place is a great family oriented business. I think this center is one of the best in town. Whether you are bowling on a league, or just for fun, this center has numerous lanes and even a kiddie center with kid size lanes. The lounge area is nice and clean as well. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the snack bar food is very good although it is a bit pricey. There is also a very nice arcade area which makes is a nice pick for a group even or children's party. Sal's Pro Shop which is located inside the center is the nicest proshop in Louisville and the only place I would go to get a bowling ball drilled. read more

I was very disappointed. Went out with a group of ladies, a total of 5 of us. We had a reservation for a lane at 7:30pm. Got there at 7:15 and was told a birthday party came in and we were bumped until 8:30pm, then bumped again until 9pm. Ummmmmm, what is the point of a reservation if you are not going to stick to it? A bunch of crock in my opinion. Decided in the mean time to have a drink at the bar. The martini glass was disgusting. It was dirty with fingerprints and what looked like food. No thank you. Get it together. Will NEVER go back. Employees didn't even try to act like they cared that they screwed us over. Extreme fluorescent bowling how I love you! When they turn the lights off and kick on the neon lighting, that's when the party begins. Add in the music, and it's really a party! I always have sooo much fun here. How can you not? Get a group together, head to the lanes, and have some fun laughing at people in your party who take the game way too seriously. In all seriousness though, Kingpin is an excellent place for a party for kids and adults. On the adult angle, there's a full bar and always a fun crowd to mix and mingle in. I actually taught the bartender how to make one of my favorite drinks on my last visit. On the kid side, it's just fun. That's all kids need, right. There's even a separate room for the little kiddies who are quite ready for big bowling balls. My niece and nephew had an absolute blast in this room! I've been to several birthday parties here, even hosted a couple myself. None have disappointed. And the place is so huge, it accommodates big groups with ease. I give kingpin actually 4 1/2 stars. The lanes are awesome and the facility is set up very nice! I often go here for Special Olympics bowling tournaments. They are great with all the needs that I have for my clients and they have an excellentparty room, game room, and concession stand. They serve beer at their concession stand and some pretty good food as well! I have had my birthday here for two years in a row and have really enjoyed my time there with family and friends. I would suggest this venue for a birthday party or just a fun get together out on the town with some friends. However this venue does not get five stars because of the price it cost to do bowling and shoe rental. read more

On the outside this place looks absolutely amazing. With all things you should never judge a book by a cover. We paid for a lane by the hour and that's a terrible idea. So we paid and we got our lane and the place wasn't sold out but they tried to put us between a big group of people. We requested to switch lanes and they abided but it wasn't much better. We get our shoes on and get ready to bowl. The problem and why they are receiving one star is that the one hour time limit on the lane doesn't start when you push begin on the screen.... it starts at payment so we didn't have an hour on the lane. We had 53 minutes. As the clock went to zero we assumed that we would be allowed to finish the game that we started. Nope it shut off completely. For the price we paid and for everything that happen I won't ever sit foot in this establishment again. read more

Kingpin Lanes is still a very nice bowling center. Unfortunately, based on my last couple of purchases, the snack bar is no longer anything special. Today I ordered a chili cheese dog. Everything was served at lukewarm, and the chili wasn't warm enough to melt the cheese. The cold bun wasn't toasted, so it became very soggy. Not appetizing in the least. read more
