However, there is one grave that is very special and it's worth the trip to Willoughby to see. It belongs to "The Girl in Blue". She is the claim to fame for Willoughby Cemetery. In December 1933 -- when she was still alive -- she was let off a street car because she wasn't able to pay the fare. She was found dead on Christmas Eve and had been killed by a train. Her stone reads: "In Memory of The Girl in Blue, Killed by Train, December 24, 1933." Sixty years later, she was identified. A teacher of mine at Willoughby Tech used to tell stories about how bodies would be dug up here for research by medical students. It probably didn't happen. That teacher was on a lifelong acid trip. Sometimes I would walk my dog through here during the day. Never at night. Are you nuts?
