Had my car there for a week to get my bumper fixed came to pick it up and my tail lights were popping out and there was paint drips everywhere, they said they'll fix it and to come back in two days so I did. Then I noticed my dash camera was broken and when I look on my phone there was clear footage of them disconnecting the wires from my camera which they had no rights to do. They can disconnect it from the car but they can't tamper my actual camera. My dad took my car to had it looked at and they took 0 responsibility and when I called and told them about this they gave me the impression as if they didn't a f**k. read more

Worst body shop in town. Will take your vehicle a week before parts arrive so it can just sit outside. Late on the estimate of when it will be done. Calling and asking for the status will only anger them and prove them to be liars. One person says its "being painted" and call the next day and another says its "waiting for paint" the next day "paint is drying" and the day after its "being primed for painting". If you go in person to ask the status a week after they said it will be done they will tell you "it will be done when its done" and they have no obligation to get you your vehicle in a timley manner. I reccomend everyone, espically State Farm customers stay far away from this place. Use literally anyone else. Ill even put my name on this review. Jeremy W. so they can figure out who they treat so poorly. Update: Was called a Liar over the phone over this post within 90 minutes of posting. My "Target Date" was changed to be 5 days longer than origionally expected. And now im being treated like they are doing me a favor. Could hardly get in a word over the phone because the manager kept talking over me. He would not (probally because he could not) give me an explination on why different staff were giving me different stories about my truck's status. If I had to make an educated guess I would say they are deliberately dragging feet with me as some form of punishment for calling them out. All trust with Davis (whom my family, friends any I been using for years) is completely eroded due to the rudeness and confrentational attitude of everyone there except for the gal working the front desk. read more

Over the past 20 or so years I've had 3 of my vehicles repaired at Davis Auto Body in Atascadero. They have done an excellent job every time, no complaints. Now, on Fri. 10-11-2024 shortly before noon, I take my vehicle to them once again, WOW what a reception! A few days earlier I was rear ended and needed a new rear bumper replaced. As I walked into the office there was no one at the front desk and a unfamiliar gentleman sitting at the computer in the next room. I stood for a moment and a young lady walked out from the back, came to the front desk and, without a smile, hello can I help you, or even eye contact, grabbed something from the desk and walked away. The guy at the computer turned and ask "Can I help you", smiling and humorously I responded, "yep I'm here to make you some money". He came to the desk and repeated himself. I said "I got rear ended in Santa Barbara the other day and need my car fixed" He ask if I had insurance, and I told him "Yes but the other driver's Ins. is going to cover it", Then he muttered something about cash and insurance, and I ask if he wanted to look at my car. Outside he once again ask about Insurance, I informed him that "Farmers Ins" was the insured that was going to cover it. Never at any time did this guy smile or act as though he was interested in my business...Then blowing me away he said..."You don't need to be so rude about it, I ask you a simple question". Now I'm wondering why this guy was so confrontational. I responded with "Look, I got rear ended, the guys insurance carrier is Farmers, I have a Claim number and an adjusters name and number, I just need to get the thing fixed"...You would think that should do it but noooo. Now he comes back with "I don't care for your attitude", I said you ask a question, I gave you the answer, can we take care of this? was my response. Now he continues with his comments as to how I was so rude an didn't need to talk to him that way. He was more interested in a fight than taking care of business. I ended with "I just came here to give you some business and get my car fixed, and all you want to do is argue?, I'll go somewhere else, have a nice day" and we both walked away. I simply wanted to thank Davis Auto Body for this experience, I have now found another shop that does good work for a lower price and a much more attentive and friendly staff! read more

I was very disappointed by this autobody shop. I am a college student who rear ended a truck in traffic. My first accident, very stressful, not fun. The damage was not terrible and definitely drivable. My insurance gave me a list of shops and this one was by far the most reviewed. I am five hours away from home and was really hoping this shop would treat me right without good ole Dad to step in and help me. However that was far from the truth. I got swindled. I was told that they would need to do a 'tear down' to estimate the damage to my vehicle and that he would call me the next day with the estimate. Now, my stepmom just got into a pretty serious rear ending accident and her vehicle was out of commission for less than a week. So I was expecting around the same for my car. Unfortunately, my insurance does not cover a rental car so I had to pay out of pocket for one. Since I am a college student who also works part time, having a car is crucial. The next day I am waiting to hear about my car and around 4pm, I get impatient and I call, I am transferred to a voicemail. I am called back and told my estimate and that they could get the parts in the next couple of days but that it could take up to a MONTH to fix. That was simply astonishing to me that this was not mentioned as a possibility when I brought my car in. Is there that many cars ahead of me? After discussing with my family, I called back to say that that simply would not work because I cannot pay for a rental car for a month. He proceeded to tell me "well the cars already disassembled." Now I was upset because I got trapped into this situation that I was not aware could occur. So now I called my good ole Dad and he called the guy. The guy said that in order to put my car back together it would cost $475 andddd they said that the car occurred more damage when they took it apart. So, I am paying $475 out of pocket for a worse off car than when I brought it in, awesome. When I go to pick up my rebuilt car I am told to sign something that says that the shop doesn't recommend for me to drive it because it's broken parts put back together and that they can't guarantee that my head lights even work. Wow, that makes this college student feel really comfortable. Luckily I brought my male friend and he helped me make sure my lights worked before I signed the paperwork. As I'm going over my vehicle the front desk lady comes out to tell me that what they are concerned about is a panel that they bent trying to put my car back together and that it may cause my car to leak radiator fluid. So, my perfectly drivable car was now maybe not so drivable. Also, the only person I talked to when I picked it up was this front desk lady, who was not a mechanic. (My car ended up being fine, no leaky fluid). Finally, after a week we found another autobody shop who has loner cars and was sympathetic to the process I went through. They promised to be upfront and timely with every step of the process, and guess what? It won't take a month. However, we also wanted to get the paperwork that Davis did on my car which would be helpful to this new autobody shop but when we called they said they destroy all paperwork once a car is released from their lot. Because of course they do. This is my first ever Yelp review. I really hope this mess is a fair warning to other people so they do not get stuck in a situation where they are made to pay for their car to be rebuilt in a worse condition. read more

I brought my baby here to get some bodywork done. A jerkwad in Fresno didn't know how to back out of a parking spot and scraped the holy bajesus out of the driver side rear door. My insurance recommended Davis, and I was not dissapointed. Their secretary (I cannot remember her name, but she's awesome!) was very accommodating, even helping me to make arrangements with the car rental place next door. Patrick looked over the damage and wrote out the estimate. There was a brief wait for the parts to arrive, but that worked out well for me. They finished with my repairs well within their quoted dates allowing me to pick my baby up early! The work was expertly performed and I can't even tell it was dented to all hades!! Two weeks ago I hit a deer with my car. I took my car to Davis Body Shop, which is a Geico ARX facility. This meant that the claims and estimate process would be streamlined for me. That same afternoon, Davis was already taking care of my car. I was able to get a rental car quickly, since Enterprise is literally right next door! Throughout the whole process, I received text updates regarding my car's status. I was also able to speak with a Davis employee whenever needed. they do good work . communications skills lacking from dalton and dennis manager. they decied not show up on 3rd of july when i told them id come to npick up car .no show on their part . cost me 1/2 days pay not to mention having to drive up again on wednesday the 5th . 45 minute drive each way, gas and time twice . the manager dennis was rude on the phone . poor response and responsibility. ill never use them again. dishonest, irresponsible rude !!!! read more

This is the worst body shop I have ever experienced! Unfortunately over the years I have been to many. The customer service is horrible. The communication and follow up was horrible. I took my car in for repair. The said they were going to order the parts. Several weeks went by. I had called and left messages. After 3 weeks I was able to talk to someone. Again I had to call. Never received a call back. After 3 weeks Patrick said that he was waiting for the insurance company to approve everything. 3 weeks ago he said he had ordered the parts! Lie! I had to do all the work and contact the insurance company and then call Patrick back. Finally after a month. I got them to order the parts. A couple weeks go by. I still have not heard from Patrick. Again! I have to call. Patrick says they had the parts and was waiting for me to bring in the car? What? Total lack of effort or communication from Patrick. Finally got car repaired. It took over a month to get my car back! My insurance stop paying for my rent a car. So I had to pay out of pocket. They would not reimburse me. Finally I get my car back. A lite les than a year goes by. My car paint is peeling where they repair the car. I take it in and they say they are going to repair it under warranty! I change my whole schedule to drop off the car and get a rent a car. Which they would not pay for? Later that I day . I get a message from Patrick that they decided they are not going to cover it under warranty and that I could call my insurance to get it repaired or pay out of pocket? What? I changed my whole schedule and payed for a rent a car for 4 days! Now you say your not going to fix my car? I have to pay for it out of my own pocket. Our brand new Toyota 4Runner with 1400 miles on it was victim to fall roof tiles after a bad rain. You would think they could cause so much damage, but they sure did. We had to have the hood and windshield replaced, amongst many other nicks, dents and scuffs repaired because the tiles broke and scattered all over the front of the truck. They even notice damage that we had missed to our untrained eyes. David Body Shop was professional, kept me up to date on the process, delivered on time and did a fantastic job. HORRIBLE service. They yanked me around for over a week, postponing my appointment and not communicating regarding the parts they were waiting on. Patrick, who did my estimate, tried to get me to replace a part that didn't need to be replaced but which raised the bill over $100. When I confronted him about the extra part, he tried to convince me that the weather stripping had to be replaced in order to fix my mirror, which is not the case. After realizing that I wasn't going to buy his load of crap, he let me just buy the mirror. I wound up purchasing the part I needed at list price and taking my car over to Classic Coach Werks. They fixed me up the same day for over $100 less and were a lot more helpful and honest. Don't take your car to Davis...they are crooks. read more

wow is all I can say after seeing the other feedback. It's so strange that the previous customers could be so dissatisfied after what I experienced at the very same place. From the moment I called to the final day of pick up, it was truly one very smooth expierence. Eric was our service advisor and walked us through the process from beginning to end. Any questions I had were promptly answered and I never felt like I had been left in the dark or left waiting long for an answer. It was convenient that I didn't need to have someone drop me off or follow me so that I could drop off my car. So after a weekend riding in pozo, my trailer got jack knifed into the side of my 2012 Nissan frontier's pickup bed :'( . This was my first fender bender, so after asking friends, I was referred to Davis time and again. Honestly,I was a bit afraid to do so with the existing reviews being so negative but I bit the bullet because I trusted friends more than strangers, (no offense yelpers!) After shopping around for estimates, Davis was right in the middle of the pack, and frankly, my estimator was very forthright and knowledgeable about my quote; I didn't feel as if I was being jerked around. I was told the repair would take 7 business days, which seemed a bit long, but manageable , dropped my baby off at Davis Monday morning when my appt came, and crossed my fingers. On Friday (2 days early!!), my truck was ready, so I go to pick it up, and it looked flawless! I checked it over again and again; looking at different angles, lighting, comparing with pictures from the day i bought it, nodding and smiling. I go into the office, and the secretary informs me that the total cost was over $100 less than originally quoted, which was just icing on the cake! My father in law took his mustang in to Davis a few days ago after a accident. The lady at the desk was so rude ! He goes in and asks for a estimate for the insurance company. The lady tells him we cannot do a estimate without a claim number ! He tells her the insurance company told us that we just get a estimate we didn't even have a claim number at that point . She says well that's not how it works! So your telling me that if I wanted to pay cash you couldn't do a estimate for me ? Lmao ! He says that's fine we will go to another shop . She says " every shop is the same way !" . Which is not true ! We went to the next shop who came right out and gave us a estimate on the spot . Glad your sucky ass rude customer service didn't get the 10k on our mustang. Also will never take any of our cars their in the future, it's sad because a few years ago they did work on my 2018 BMW M4 and they did a good job. I had a pretty severe dent in the passenger door on my explorer. The staff at Davis were very friendly and knowledgable and kept me informed on what was needed to fix my car. I had some wind damage to my classic 1989 Porsche 944 S2 and after shopping around the area's body shops decided to take it to Davis in Paso Robles. Jason was very easy to work with and gave me a prompt and complete estimate, worked directly with my insurance company, located and ordered the parts, which aren't easy to find, matched the paint perfectly and did an overall outstanding job restoring my car. He also inspected the rest of the car and gave me advice on other areas that might need work in the future. Davis shuttled me to and from the shop. Great job, great service. Probably not the cheapest place you could go, but very reasonable. No problems with my insurance company so that should tell you everything about pricing you really need to know. Outstanding people.
