Authentic and delicious! Pictured: Carne asada and birria tacos. The carne asada is the star of the show. Best carne asada I've had since being in Portland. I got the carne asada burrito. The burrito was so good I forgot to take a pic. There were two different salsas: an avocado and tomatillo. So flavorful and brought a nice kick to the burrito. Will definitely be coming back!

Being from Los Angeles and having grown up eating Mexican food... I have to say it was hard to find authentic carne asada in Hawaii. But Davis Tacos is the spot! They're on the corner of Piikoi and Kinau in the Youngs Wine and spirits parking lot. Behind the Makiki Safeway. I love their carne asada burritos but the winner is the Davis Torta! It's a giant torta with grilled bread, beans, onion, cilantro, a generous amount of carne asada, and large slices of queso fresco and avocado. On Fridays they have Birria which is also delicious and authentic. I definitely recommend Davis Tacos if you're looking for that authentic Mexican food taste and vibe. The staff is very friendly and hard working too, you can't go wrong with Davis Tacos.

Just tried it for the first time during lunch, so good! They had a pop up inside of Ki Club. Not too many Mexican places on island offers tortas on their menu so I was excited to try and it was awesome. Portion size is huge and I love that this came with the huge pieces of queso fresco and avocado. I'll be coming back again for sure.

Prepping for the lunch rush under the pop up tent in the convenience store parking lot.

The special today was a torta for $17.50 that I'll be getting next time, but I came here for tacos with my husband. We got there around 12:30 pm and just happened to beat the rush! I ordered our food for takeout, and it came out pretty fast. I ordered the Vampiro tacos, which is 4 open faced birria tacos. It doesn't come with consommé, and didn't need it to be honest. My husband got the 3 for $15 tacos, carne asada, pork belly, and birria. All good! Inside was pretty clean and nice and breezy for a Hawai'i day in February. We will definitely be coming back!

I remember dining there when they first opened. Parking was a problem, and still is, but! It's worth dealing with the parking issue for some delicious Hispanic food. Average price is five dollars per taco. It is pricey, but good. You'll get the same effect and satisfaction with the burrito and probably lesser and cost when you think about it. They are a no-frills establishment. That said you really don't need all the add-ons like guacamole or salsa. Food is extremely tasty and delicious as is. Be there I'll be square

Mexican sounded good to everyone so we picked this spot and we're all very happy we did. Our server was kind and attentive. The place was lovely and decorated with just the amount of fun you expect. Some great photo ops in there. He even told us they were having a mariachi band tomorrow and invited us to come back. The food from the start with nachos and salsa to the end with tres leches was all delicious. I ordered the chorizo queso and it was fantastic. My son ordered the guacamole and it was so fresh and limey. Also delicious. My grandkids shared a quesadilla which was definitely large enough to do so with. My oldest grandson ordered a torte and he loved it. Also a generous portion. My son and I both ordered the grande burrito. He got his wet and I didn't. His was served on a plate and mine came wrapped in foil in a basket. I wish it would have also come on a plate. I like to cut it up to eat and the foil made that difficult to do. We ordered the tres leches to go because we were all so full. Enjoyed it the next day. Three of us could share on piece. It's delicious but very rich.

The tables were full initially bc it was HH on the cantina side so we just ordered drinks then went to the other side to order food. Didn't realize if we order food on the grab and go side that we can't sit on the cantina side. They brought us our drinks. A table opened up shortly after then we went to sit but they told us since we got food from the other side we couldn't sit on the cantina side. Service otherwise was average. Got the molcajete which has a variety of meats, rice, beans and small corn tortillas. It's enough to feed 2-3 people. Had some leftovers. Flavors were ok. Not the best Mexican food I ever had but decent.
