My husband and I went to try this place out. It's a little stand in Aloha Tower with outdoor seating only. We had asada tacos and pork tacos. My husband really enjoyed it! It was pretty tasty. I had 3 taco combo with chips (not home made but it was crunchy not stale) and salsa. The salsa and creamy green sauce was good but a little spicy for me. The flavors were good so I ate it! Delicious, authentic, freshly made food and superb service. My friend was hungry for Mexican food and had never tried Aloha Tortilla Factory. We split a 3-taco combo plate and got one additional taco free. From the options, we chose: potato tacos, carne asada taco, a side of guac and chips, and a small cup of grapes. The potato and mushroom taco was yummy with Mexican potatoes, sauteed mushrooms and cheese. My friend loved his carne asada taco, said it may have been the best he'd ever had. If you're craving good Mexican food, I highly recommend trying out this unassuming little food cart. With validation and quick turnaround, you can get out of there for only $2. For faster service, you may want to consider ordering online and eating there or getting it to-go. The owner is so impressive for working tirelessly year after year here, making authentic and tasty Mexican food from his heart! My favorite is the chipotle chicken quesadilla. I went on Valentine's Day and he gave everyone a free chocolate truffle that tasted a lot like Godiva... what a great guy! I ordered takeout to eat at the office (downtown) since it takes about 30 minutes for the food to be made fresh. There was enough meat in each of the four slices of the quesadilla to be an entree itself, so it was like having four entrees of meat! And it was really peppery too! I highly recommend this place if you love burritos!!! At first, I thought I wouldn't be able to eat all of the pork burrito for lunch but I did. It was really good and flavorful! I also got the carne asada burrito but was too full to eat it so I left it in the fridge overnight and ate it the next day. Came here on taco Tuesday. They have a buy a 3 taco plate get 1 taco free so I went with that. I got carne asada and carnitas which come with a side on chips and salsa. Personally I thought the meat was on the drier side I prefer my tacos to be more flavorful. They are really friendly and generous on the salsa though. I happened on this place attending "Night Market" at Aloha Tower... They are located in the only permanent individual structure in fromt of the tower. When I went there was only a special event menu (pic) so I am not sure what their selections and prices are when their is no event. Special event selections was the usual mexican fare anywhere and pretty much everything was $10.00. I went with their 2 tacos ($10). It consisted of two decent sized stuffed tacos (steak avocado onion) and it came with guacomoli - salsa and some kind of spicy sauce (all in seperate containers) and it even came with tortilla chips on the side...Everything was meticulously put together and prepared and was "onos"!! Quality ingredients put together with love. I believe they would normally have chairs tables and umbrellas (hence "cafe" in name) ... If their prices is same as event pricing then its a good value with good portions and just tasty!! Definetely a good option to check out when at the towet. read more

When the food is this delicious, it motivates me to write a review to share with the world. I'm so impressed with the presentation, the taste, and the price of this meal. I ordered the chipotle chicken, carne asada, and pork tacos to try and it was the bomb. And their green sauce was some spicy goodness. The tacos were neatly individually wrapped. It was too pretty so I had to take a picture. And the dessert, a lemon cake bite, was petite and super cute to eat and it was delightful. I'm thinking about going back tomorrow. Is that too soon? I had read a few reviews that said how great the food was here but I never had the opportunity to eat here but the other day the sun and moon aligned and I bought a quesadilla with carne asada. Perfection. The two gentlemen running the unassuming cafe were friendly and helpful. Great recommendations and options. The food was prepared fresh and they brought it out to us. My protein was chipotle chicken and it actually had some spice to it. Chips were the rectangular kine you may find at Costco, and you get plenty. Salsa was a bit on the ketchupy side. I had bookmarked this restaurant on prior occasion and just happened to be down the street with my wife when I asked if she wanted to eat something. Very easy to find as it's to the front of Aloha Tower. They offer validated parking in the nearby lot as well which is nice. The restaurant is more of a food truck without the wheels and engine, and offers tables in back. They weren't busy when we arrived but the tables quickly filled as we ate our food. The rep offered assistance as we started to order which was nice trying to figure out what to order. My wife and I each had the carne asada tacos x3 with two sides (~$10), although I made one of mine a pork taco. They were pretty good overall, colorful, although slightly small yet satisfying. Our dish came with sides and we chose chips and salsa/guacamole which they make themselves. Again, all delicious. We also tried the horchata drink (~$3.50) that was an interesting blend of cinnamon and other spices. The tables in back were COVID spaced to enable social distancing and privacy to add. My son called while we were waiting on our food so we were able to plug in and chat with him while eating. My wife and I both reflected upon leaving that it was a nice meal together. Best. Burrito. Ever! We've had the chicken, carne asada, and pork burritos and they're so delicious and very filling (with the 2 sides, chips/salsa, chips/guacamole, Salad/dessert). You don't even really need the sauces it comes with because they're so flavorful as is! The tortilla is soft and unlike anything I've had before. First time trying the Dragon fruit rice drink and it's really good! They make it fresh. Iced coffee is concentrated enough so the ice doesn't water it down. Highly recommend this place. This spot is a gem at the Aloha Tower Marketplace. They have a kiosk on the spaghetti factory side of the tower. Also they validate parking! It's a family run business offering a variety of Mexican food with both meat and vegetarian/vegan options. I tried their molletes, which came with three slices of toasted Mexican bread topped with tender carne asada (my meat choice), black beans, melted cheese, sliced avocado, and pico di gallo. All of their burritos, tacos, and plates come with a trio of homemade salsa/sauces offering a range of heat levels. Also a fresh side salad with a tasty herb vinaigrette and bite sized lemon cake dessert. Their plates are a complete meal for $10-12, which is an amazing deal for the portion size. Most places charge extra for avocado but it's included here, which is another plus to Aloha Tortilla Factory in my book! Even though it's a quick take out spot, the staff were extremely friendly and calling ahead to order was easy and convenient. We had an excellent dining experience at Aloha Tortilla. Parking is conveniently located at the Aloha marketplace, and the Aloha Tortilla will validate your parking ticket for an hour. This allows plenty of time to order your food, eat, and even stroll around the Aloha marketplace waterfront. We ordered chicken Chipotle tacos and Carne Asada quesadilla, with the sides of chips, salsa & guacamole. I have to say that both the tacos and quesadilla were the best Mexican food I've had on the island. Not too salty/cheesy/greasy, which I often find at other mexican places. They were very generous with the amount of meat. Carne asada quesadilla with the green chili sauce was my absolute favorite! We also ordered horchata and lime&ginger tea. All were delicious. I never would have thought that the Aloha Tortilla Factory & Cafe would be one of the highlights of my Honolulu trip, but it absolutely was. Eating out in Hawaii can get expensive, but this little gem filled me up for less than $10! But the most memorable element of this little cafe wasn't just the food; it was the outstanding service that I received from the owner, Lourdes! I saw this cafe on my way to the Aloha Tower. I hadn't eaten since earlier in the morning, and decided to grab a quick meal while I was there. When I walked up to the window, The owner Lourdes greeted me with a huge smile! She told me about their specials and let me know about their menu selections. Everything sounded really good, but I finally decided on the tostada special. I'm kind of a weirdo... I generally like my tostadas meatless. But since the beans and cheese and meat tostada were the same price, I decided to get one of each. My tostada special came with a chicken tostada, beans and cheese tostada, a slice of lemon cake, and a side side salad for $8.50. Lourdes told me that I should go up to explore the tower and that my food would be ready when I was done. At first I was afraid because I didn't want my food to get cold. But after going up to the tower, I realized that most people don't spend a lot of time up there. The views are nice, but it's really a short trip. After I was done viewing the tower, I came back to the cafe area. It's a small food stand with a few tables in the back, so I just took a seat at one of the tables. Lourdes delivered my food to me and I dug in! First off, let me just say that the tostadas were huge! At first I imagined that they would just act as a snack to hold me over until my next meal, but nope! These babies were stacked and filling! Tons of deliciously marinated shredded chicken on one, and the most delightful beans, cheese, and veggies on the other! The shells were nice and crispy! This was definitely authentic with the most wonderful aromatic flavors. The salad dressing was great and the lettuce tasted fresh. The lemon cake tasted pre-made but was still light and enjoyable. I was really pleased with what I received here! Lourdes came out to ask me how everything was and of course I expressed my satisfaction. We ended up talking for over a half and hour! She told me about how she and her family moved to Hawaii from another state and that she was originally from Mexico. She also told me about how the business started and that they had only been in that location for a few months. She brought out this beautiful book that showcased many of Hawaii's most well known landmarks! She recommended some awesome places for me to visit in Honolulu! It really got my excited and I bookmarked so many different spots. She gave me a guide book with tons of great information and wished me well on my trip! This was the most personable service that I received from anyone while I was out on the island! I felt like I was a family member, and it's so rare to find business owners who treat people this way. When I left, all I could think about was how I would love to come back to see how this business was doing! The students from Hawaii Pacific University frequent this spot and right now, that's what is keeping it alive. I know that there are other larger restaurants right in the plaza, but I would choose Aloha over them any day purely based on the service alone. I have high hopes for this cafe!
