My son had an accident and his glasses got loose on one side. The woman behind the counter was more consumed with if we purchased them there or not, when she saw in the computer that we did, she proceeded to give every excuse in the book about how he needs new frames, but they did not carry the same ones he had anymore. I said to her can we just fix them so my son can go to school and I will figure the rest out when we have time tomorrow. All she needed to do was squeeze the prongs closer together and put in a screw. I ended up doing it on my own. read more

Horrible! This is the closest location to me, less than a mile, and I'll never go back! I waited around go be helped, even when I had an appointment. Staff was rude and unhelpful, I actually had to ask them for help. Their selection was very small and nothing I loved or even liked. I actually stood there for 15 min and had to ask for help finding glasses while staff stood there chatting away. I mean where do they find these people? My entire family has gone here for probably a decade. Service has declined dramatically. My daughter had an annual exam and a few hours later ended up with an eye infection. Couldn't get ANYONE on the phone the next morning. She had to go to urgent care, pay out of pocket and get a script for antibiotic eye drops. I have been going to this location for years and every time I go I pray that the office manager is not there. Employees are constantly changing and I'm almost positive its because of The office manager (women, strong accent). The way she talks to her staff is extremely unprofessional which makes me sad because the experience I had with the male technician and the assistant in the exam room was wonderful. Their laugh together is so contagious which is very much needed at this location. After having my exam, I just wanted to pay for it and get my script. I was told by her that in order to get the discount from my insurance, glasses has to be purchased the same day as the exam. I told her that the appointment took longer then expected and I can't get glasses today. She was not happy. I will not be going back. I wish the best for the staff and suggest that they document all inappropriate/abusive verbal communication and report it! With the lack of staff shortage all around, she should really appreciate those that are working there. Well my birthday have caught up to me and it's time to join the club. It's a holiday weekend and got a last minute appointment. Though the appointment was TeleDoc, it was surprisingly great. Lenore walked me through step by step made me feel comfortable and she was very knowledgeable when it came to any questions and even made me aware of what was about to happen, (being a teledoc appt). Went in with broken glasses, no longer under warranty. Is the third time over several years by frames are broken in the same way. Online they have a price 40% off list, but on site they wouldn't honor that price. She would only give me 25% off, says it's their policy they don't match online pricing. Unfortunately the only vision plan in my insurance. But I'm not going to put up with that. You advertise a price on your website, you should honor that price when people walk through your front door. read more

I have been going to this vision works for the past few years. This year when i went in on 1/30, they mo longer had me in their system. I got put in only to find out that i actually didn't. After my second entry and my eye exam, i ordered my glasses. Transitions with my same progressive subscription from the prior year. After 16 days and not hearing, i went to the store to learn that they has the wrong contact info. In addition my glasses were incorrect, the prescription was way off. They got redone and another 10 days and no contact, so back to the store to find out the redo glasses were there. Once again, they were wrong, the right lens was flat out cut wrong as confirmed by the optometrist. Here we are 8 days after the last redo and still NO contact! 34 days and still mo glasses. read more

Poor customer service, older male employee was very rude and tossed my credit card at me when i changed from wanting glasses to contacts. He also tossed my paperwork toward me and would not explain to me the contacts he ordered. Employees are very emotional and have very sarcastic attitude. This goes for most of the staff. Staff could not explain their fees to me. Will not return, will also be telling my family in local area to find new location for eyecare. Felt like a car dealership with the upselling. Other older female employee was offended that my wife didnt want to get the prescription sunglasses as polarized. I am retired and have no vision insurance. Was please that the eye exam cost me only $39.00. Dr. Hildy Hirsch was very professional and put me at ease. Was happy with the selection of frames i could choose from. I am not very picky. Frames cost me $129.00. Again, i was very happy with the price. My lenses were expensive but...."it is what it is." It's not Davis Visions fault that i need progressive lenses as well as transitional. The person that helped me out was named Gary. Very friendly. Definitely will be going back when the time comes. 100% happy with Davis Visionworks. read more

I live in the area and it's very convenient for me, however i feel VERY uncomfortable when i'm there. I no longer will go to this location. My husband changed locations years ago because of the attitudes at the front desk. The Eye Doctors are fine but the customer service is terrible. The attitude is as if they have absolutely no patience for the non sense coming out of my mouth! People have been complaining for years about this location and i'm very surprised Davis Vision has not taken these complaints seriously and given these people some training on how to deal with the public. I walked in intending to buy glasses. I had a full eye exam two months ago and they take my insurance. The gruff customer service is horrible! I had my glasses order form with all the prescription info but the signed form by the doctor (the order form did have my eye doctors name and phone number on it). They sent me packing, telling me to return with the correct paperwork, no offer to try to get the paperwork. So I left and will never return. I have not experienced such horrible customer service anywhere else. They need to make changes at that store. read more

We were new to this practice. Was not aware of the 2 of 5 star rating on Yelp prior to today but I highly recommend removing this practice from service. Poorly run office. Not certain that there was an actual optometrist on-site during any visit. Seemed more interested in up selling at every opportunity vs patient service. Felt like a couple of Part-time high school moms were in charge at the original appointment. Could not explain basics of a glaucoma test to my high school children, which they up-charged for. Failed to recognize a long time existing issue with my daughter. Other patients left standing around for over 10 minutes without being spoken to. Failed to recognize both My daughter glasses and contacts were delivered. Argumentative staff. They switched my daughters contact brand for no reason and now must see the doctor again via another appointment. There was ZERO value delivered by this branch. If there was an option for " negative 10 stars" that's what The EAST NORTHPORT DAVIS VISION/VISION WORKS LOCATION DESERVES . For 2 weeks I've been making appointments, showing up only to be turned away for various reasons. First nobody obtained my insurance authorization which my insurance company said should taken one click of button since my INSURANCE IS VISIONWORKSand they send me to DAVIS VISION! Next i show up& told their new computer system cancelled my appointment. I explained how I really needed to get exam/glasses in order to pass my pre-employment physical and was now running out of time. My next appointment I received 2 txts saying it was re-scheduled then cancelled!!! I called Visionworks who sent me to their Greenlawn location. I arrived to find a sign on door saying " CLOSED DUE TO FLOOD. UNSAFE CONDITIONS!" Meanwhile I looked inside glass door& place looked fine! I called VISIONWORKS AGAIN and was sent to Cvs store in deer park & told they are a participating provider. I get there& see a sign saying cvs optical stores are all cvs loses as of August 12'th,2022! I was sent there on August 23!! So Im forced to schedule AGAIN AT EAST NORTHPORT. I arrived for my 11am appointment, sit and wait for an hour while I watch& overhear several horror stories& disgruntled customers. At 12:20 I'm told the computer system has crashed & I can't be seen. This was on a Friday. I'm told the next soonest appointment is the following Wednesday. 2 days before that appointment on Monday, I get a txt that they have rescheduled Ny Wednesday appointment to Friday! I found a Visionworks store at 100 Main Street in smithtow, drove there, scheduled an appointment for the next day ( today). The nice woman Yvonne helped me complete the pre-appt paperwor, I arrived for my appointment today AND EVERYTHING WENT SMOOTHLY!! Dr. Sciarra examined me, Michael Rosario the Optometrist explained everything about my presc as these are my first glasses ever& assured me he would try his best to get them back from lab as quickly as possible and hopefully in time for my pre-employment exam next week! I came here for an annual exam and to get a new pair of glasses. I was told about safety glasses since I work at a hospital. I took a look at them but I honestly didn't think I was going to use them at all because they're not that appealing. I kept telling the lady that I didn't think I was going to use them and she kept insisting and WOULD NOT take no for an answer and as I kept telling her I wasn't going to use them, she proceeded to swipe my card and said "I think you're making the right choice." I was so angry I just went home. I called later in the day asking to please cancel and return the safety glasses but the same lady answered and insisted again that "I was making the right choice." A week later the glasses I picked along with the stupid safety glasses were ready for pick up and I tried telling the gentleman there that I didn't want the glasses and I tried telling them last week that I didn't want it and he simply sighed and said well the manager isn't here so call tomorrow or come back. I'm currently on the phone with customer service because the people in this store simply won't just take no for an answer. I'm never coming back to this location ever again. Every one of these stars are for the high quality optometrist they have at this site- Dr. James Franks. He has a fantastic sense of humor and really helped my son feel comfortable. He was able to notice a serious eye condition called keratinous without even dilating his eyes during a routine eye exam. Two specialists later, Dr. Franks' suspicions were confirmed and the specialists were impressed at his level of skill! This is a degenerative disorder and the early diagnosis saved us from needing a corneal transplant! I cannot thank this man enough and am happy to let people know that this gifted provider happens to be hiding out at Visionworks onThursdays only. read more

Recently visited this branch, first visit was ok. One staff member was helpful when choosing my glasses. Pick up was easy and much quicker than I expected. However once I got the glasses home, I realized that both lenses were scratched. I called immediately and they told me to bring them back and they would fix them not problem. 6 days later, with no call, I called them. I was left on hold for 7 mins and finally hung up. Called back again and they told me they were ready. When I picked them up, the man couldn't have been less helpful. He hands me my glasses with filthy, smudged lenses. I asked him to clean them and he rolled his eyes and did a half-ass job. I told him that I needed to check for scratches because of the first lenses being scratched. Upon inspection, I realize this pair was scratched too. I told the man and he tried to clean them again and asked me, "is it really that bad?" Yes! They need to be perfect. He tried to argue that there were no scratches but his coworker looked over his shoulder and said that she could see them. He rolled his eyes again and huffed. I'm so disappointed and I'm not as excited about my glasses. It's inconvenient and I just really hope it doesn't happen again. read more

I visited my usual Davis Vision location with a new prescription given to me by my eye surgeon's office. I recently had eye surgery which required a new prescription in the frames I purchased at Davis Vision last year. After speaking with an optician, I was told the new lenses would be $260.00 which utilized my insurance. I told him that I bought the frame and lenses last year for only $170.00. He confirmed that I only paid $170.00 for the same type of lenses and new frame last year, but he'd have to charge me $260.00 for only the new lenses to be put in my old frame. However, if I wanted to purchase an entire new pair (frames and lenses) the cost would be $260.00. How can an entire new pair be the same price as just replacing lenses? I was just treated so rudely, literally ruined my day. Was off today, need glasses, decided to stop in since the sign says they gladly accept walk-ins. There was a gentleman being helped by one employee pick out his glasses. There was another guy who was trying very hard to help an elderly woman but apparently didn't have the credentials needed and then there was a woman on the phone who I really wish I got her name, Dark Black hair, glasses, incredibly loud and rude. She asked to help me while talking on phone with someone else, I said I was wondering if they could do an exam, she rolled her eyes, told me to wait a minute. Then was really rude to the elderly lady, while the guy took over making the phone appointment. He then tries to schedule an appointment for me, I say I can't schedule one right now, was just looking to see if maybe a dr was available to squeeze me in, the black haired girl says, have you ever been here before (really loud and obnoxious) I say I have brought my two children here, she goes so then no!! All you have to say is, I'm sorry, we are really busy today for walk-ins perhaps try another day or time, being polite should be a basic skill of a receptionist, I wont be back here again. The first time I was here I was pleased with service, the second time I went because of the Customer Appreciation Week which was 50% off frames so I chose a pair of glasses and sunglasses. Not the largest selection so I had to really go through thoroughly to find frames that looked best on me. I felt kind of pressured by the employees to choose frames quickly (but it was mostly my pressure on myself). I went back today to pick up my frames and I waited by the counter to ask an employee to assist me in picking up my glasses. I was approached by Jennifer A. and when I asked her if I could pick up my glasses, she said to get on line and pointed to two groups of people being helped. Since there was two separate groups, I asked "Which line?", she pointed again and said "Just over there" with a tone. So I stood behind one of the groups and hoped for the best. I felt disrespected by her lack of help and overall lack of wanting to help me. When I go back, I will definitely steer clear of her. But, the other women that work there are very kind and helpful. read more
