    Blueberry donut

What a gem of a place! The owner was so friendly. The service alone makes this place a 10/10. We were considering if we should get the apple fritter or not so he threw it in for free. As well as gave us free donut holes. He asked us if we needed anything for our daughter and was just overall super kind. We got several donuts, kolaches as well as a Vietnamese coffee. We really loved the coffee - very strong but not overly sweet which is usually the problem with Vietnamese coffee. I thought the best donut was the blueberry one as you could really taste the blueberries in it. The kolaches were puffy and filling. If there was one downside it would be the area. An unhoused man came in and saged the doorway. Although he didn't do anything, it still wasn't the most comfortable position to be in especially if you are out with a toddler. There is security on the premise and they handled the situation very quickly so there was truly no issue but next time we might order take out. Great donut shop. Wonderful owners.

I was in the mood for a donut the other day, but I was too lazy to go out and get them so I ordered some online. Dawn's offers a half dozen box, so, I put in an order to try a variety When I received my order I saw there was a note that said "sorry I ran out of blueberry cake donuts.. here are some donut holes," which was a nice touch. They could have just added a random extra donut and not even acknowledge my order, but they didn't, and I appreciate it I really liked the togo packaging and aesthetic. Everything looked appetizing, and everything tasted great Some tips: I would consider ordering earlier in the day just so you get a chance to try one of their blueberry cake donuts, as they came highly reviewed, and apparently they run out fairly quick. Cheers!!

Located just across from NRG Stadium, Dawn Donuts is one of my favorite donut shops in the city. It might not look like much on the outside, but this Asian-owned biz offers some tasty donuts, kolaches, and pastries, along with affordable prices and outstanding customer service. The old school, no frills vibe is evident all throughout. There is no inside seating and it's completely a takeout only situation. Behind the counter is a lovely Vietnamese family constantly running around the kitchen to make things work.. The process is simple. Head up the counter and order whatever is in the display case. They tend to run out in the morning. The kolaches and donuts are on point, but in particular the maple bars and the old fashioned have been my go-tos for awhile. They always give me something extra be it donut holes or a ton of random donuts. The prices are very reasonable and they also accept credit cards.

The reviews seemed pretty good, so we decided to try this place for donuts. The donuts weren't spectacular, but they were *mostly* edible. The Vietnamese coffee was so, so bad though. It tasted like old dirty coffee with cream and a couple ice cubes. The bottom of the coffee was loaded with coffee grounds. It was the worst coffee I have EVER had. Could it have been an off day? Perhaps, but I don't understand the positive reviews. This place wasn't just bad- it was gross, and I will never go back.

The plain glazed donut was pretty good. Did not care for the apple fritter as it was too sweet for me (hate that I spent $2.99 and did not care for taste); plus, I have never had an apple fritter that had no apples--how can this be called an apple fritter with no apples???? Very deceptive as it was lumpy as if it had apples; but what appeared to be lumpy with apples, it was just lumps of added dough to appear as apple chunks. The blueberry donut was ok, but I have had better. My favorite was the plain glaze and donut holes. Excellent customer service, but I will be looking for another donut place.

First time coming here and I ordered the following: (One of each) Viet Coffee -Very strong and sweet, but great flavor. I belive they use coffee from Du Monde in NOLA. Came with ice and was about 12oz, very good if you like strong coffee Jalapeño Kolache -The bread was a little dense and slightly dry, but I came like 10min before they closed so I figured that's why. Good flavor either way and the dough had a slightly sweet quality that was a good contrast to the jalapeño. Blueberry cake donut -These donuts were T H I C C, but in s good way. Nice and fluffy cake texture and the blueberry is definitely there. Very moist too! Would def recommend if you're in the area. Also, the person behind the counter was very friendly too!

I don't get the cravings often, but sometimes I just want an apple fritter and most all donut spots close early in the day. That is where Voodoo holds the advantage. They stay open late. You will always get a long line during late night hours at any of their locations around town. They are known for their wacky donut creations. Things like a voodoo doll donut, grape flavored donuts or even a donut shaped like a blunt. In my opinion, all the crazy flavors are either way too sweet or are just doing too much. Give me a regular glazed donut or an apple fritter or something along those lines. They also do a buttermilk bar that is outstanding. The vibes are great at this location. They always got some good music going on and the staff are always friendly and match the vibes of the store. It's a great option when the donut cravings hit late at night.

Special shout out to Micah (I hope I spelled your name right) and if I wasn't senile I could remember the name of, who I think was the manager, there earlier in the evening. Idc if I like the doughnuts or not but I'll keep coming back because of the people. But the old fashioned was pretty damn good.

In fact, when friends visit from out of town I'm going to take them to this (and only this) location to experience Shipley in its best form. When I tell you, all the I's are dotted and the t's are crossed at this location I mean it! I truly wouldn't be surprised if they trained new franchise owners at this very location because pretty much everything is elevated or on point. Pup in tow I chose the drive-thru. Pulling up to the order speaker I was greeted with an automated we'll be with you shortly message. After placing and receiving my order I opened the box and nearly audibly gasped. I've ordered one too many Shipleys Bullseyes in my day, but I've yet to see one that looked this perfect. The middle seemed piped. I also ordered two cake donuts, a buttermilk for now and blueberry for later. Both were delightful! The slight language barrier at the receiving window had me a bit worried, but this spot delivered. I'll be back on my next cheat day!

High expectations, but a bit disappointed…read more Service 5/5 - The lady at the counter was very friendly and nice. She provided great service and had a great attitude. Beignet - Surprising hit. They are made fresh to order and it was actually my favorite thing from our experience there. Donuts - The batter used made the donuts not quite as light as Krispie Kreme and had a bit more of a bounce/chew to it. The donuts are definitely better when slightly warmed up for a few seconds. Their glaze is where I think the donuts fell short for me though. It had a nice crispy texture but there is a slight added fragrance to it that I found distracting. I can't quite put my finger on what that fragrance is, you can't necessarily taste it but you can definitely smell it. The other non-glazed donuts like maple didn't have the fragrance but the maple flavor was a bit too mild. Jelly and cream ones were OK, were very filled. Kolache - Got the plain sausage one and it was nothing special. The sausage tasted like a breakfast sausage you'd get from a complementary breakfast at a hotel and then wrapped in bread. Would not get again. Americano - Pretty good, went well with the sweets. Overall not bad but I feel like we've had better donuts elsewhere. The fragrance in the glaze was off putting though and that made me quite disappointed.
