Dawn's nails is the only place I'll go to get my nails done from now on. Amazing work, affordable prices and very secluded and peaceful vs going to the nail shop where there are multiple conversations going on at the same time from others and nails techs. Dawn is located in Sola Salon and has a room where she's the only one doing nails. Fabulous work and love love love and can't wait to come back each time read more

Made an appointment with Dawn (first time) while browsing yelp for my mother's nails. She was responsive via yelp, which was appreciated. She also was flexible too with our appointment, which was also appreciated. She is very nice also and takes the time to listen to what the customer desires, and also asks for feedback throughout the visit. We didn't feel rushed either. She has a variety of options. Her nail shop is inside the building called Sola Salon. She rents a unit inside there, where there are many individual suites owned by other vendors. Small unit, but you get your privacy and one on one attention. Fair pricing also. Mom liked her nails (dip powder). Dawn accepts cash, check, or Zelle only. No credit/debit, venmo, or apple pay, etc, so be prepared to provide the aforementioned payment types. Will be visiting again when in need. read more

After moving to Escondido 2 years ago I FINALLY found someone who is amazing! found Dong via yelp about a month ago. I just went in for my 3rd visit with her. The first one I wanted to try dip nails and it just didn't work out for me..Dong had me back in her chair less than 24 hours later fixing them and taking me back to my acrylic days and I couldn't be happier! I have diabetes so it's critical I get regular pedicures. Unfortunately my feet are also hypersensitive so it's a task I've always dreaded...until I found Dawn. She's speedy, does a great job, is easy to talk to (but comfortable to be in silence), and most importantly she is super gentle. I no longer have the extreme anxiety about getting my toes done that I've had at other places. I feel the same way about her manicures. I'm SO glad I found Dawn! She is extremely kind, gentle, a good conversationalist and knows what she is doing! I needed to take my acrylics off and I've always had a problem with one of my nails cracking. Even when I was getting fills done, sometimes it would crack with a different nail lady. She took my acrylics off and no splitting or cracking, whatsoever! I was prepared for it to happen and was in shock that it didn't. I guess she paid attention to detail and was gentle. I really appreciated her hearing me on this, as it has been very painful on the past. Very please with her service and I will definitely return to her. She is also VERY reasonably priced. I go back and forth getting my nails done because it's really hard finding someone good. I actually already had acrylics put on by another business (very disappointed and won't mention names) found this place by chance thanks to Yelp and made an apt. What can I say about Dawn? She's so talented and sweet! I found her by random when I was looking for a nail salon in the area. Since I go to school in San Marcos, I was in dire need of getting my nails fixed and the first shop I went to was too busy. I came across Dawn's salon on Yelp and decided to try it. Each one had their own style and techniques however, all of them were very meticulous and gentle. I can tell that each technician here is highly trained and will pay close attention to detail. They listen to what the customer wants while also sharing ideas of their own (which I truly appreciate!) There was a small misunderstanding, yet the owner responded by raising her voice and speaking to the client in a very rude and disrespectful manner. The client handled the situation with nothing but kindness and patience. Personally, I would have walked out immediately if I had been treated that way. I've also heard similar concerns from others regarding the new owner's attitude and the way both clients and employees are treated. Unfortunately, experiences like this are the reason Star Nails has lost not only my business, but also several longtime clients who used to enjoy going there. Respect and professionalism go a long way, especially in customer service.
