I have lived at Tides at Midtown (now Daxton) for approximately 2.5 years, and unfortunately the quality of management and maintenance has significantly declined. One of the biggest concerns has been ongoing maintenance and sanitation issues in my apartment. The garbage disposal repeatedly backs up into the dishwasher, causing a horrible sewage smell throughout the kitchen. The dishwasher has become moldy and has created health concerns for my household. Despite reporting the issue multiple times, management specifically denied replacing the dishwasher. Safety has also been a major issue. Maintenance installed a shelf with a jagged exposed edge that caused my daughter to severely cut her arm. The wound later became infected and resulted in a serious staph infection requiring hospitalization. Situations like this should never happen due to careless maintenance work. The overall upkeep of the property has gone downhill. The dog park smell regularly carries throughout the complex, the hallways frequently smell like marijuana with little to no action taken, and the gas grill at the pool has not worked since the new management took over. In addition, the water throughout the community is shut off on a regular basis -- often weekly -- for extended periods due to ongoing pipe work. The biggest disappointment has been the current management experience. Charlie, the apartment manager, has consistently been unprofessional and rude during my residency. He has interrupted conversations I was having in the community, laughed dismissively, and created an uncomfortable environment for residents. He is also frequently standing near the parking garage entrance smoking cigarettes, which many residents find unpleasant when entering or leaving the property. I do want to recognize Ms. Gina, who has always been kind, professional, and helpful whenever I had concerns. She has been one of the few positive experiences during my time here. In addition, the water is shut off far too often and for extended periods of time, which has become extremely frustrating for residents. I also want to address management professionalism. Gina has always been kind, helpful, and respectful whenever I've had concerns. However, my experiences with Charlie have been the complete opposite. He has repeatedly been rude and dismissive toward me, interrupted conversations I was having in the community, and openly laughed in a way that felt disrespectful and unprofessional. Residents should feel comfortable approaching management, not uncomfortable or belittled. It is disappointing because the apartments themselves have potential and the location is convenient, but the management experience and ongoing maintenance problems have made living here increasingly unpleasant. I've been living here for a year now and literally JUST renewed my lease which now I'm concerned being that someone in these apartments literally OPENED AND STOLE MY DAMN PACKAGE! I emailed them and never received a response but they made sure to send an email about parcel deliveries. Mhmmm. It's the LACK of concern, consideration or ACKNOWLEDGMENT FOR ME. You would think they would take shit like this more serious but CLEARLY they do not care! I'm very disappointed. I have so much more to say but I'll keep the rest of my negative comments to myself. I give this piece of shit apartments ZERO fucking stars. Horrible experience since day one! Not only did they not have our stuff ready on move in day, but we also got the wrong apartment. The fire alarm went off at all hrs (no fire). The water is always being shut off. Property is always dirty and full of garbage. Found opened and used condoms in the stairwell along with drugs (cocaine), needles and dog shit. Maintenance takes for ever on work orders, I'm still waiting for them to fix the lights in my kitchen after submitting a service request almost two weeks ago. Can't wait for my lease to be over. Highly suggest NOT moving here. read more

While in the office I had the pleasure of experiencing how they interacted with current residents; they were extremely personable and go the extra mile to get to know the people that live here. Although my desired move in date was not able to be accommodated I can say without a doubt that she tried and did EVERYTHING in her power to help me out. At first these apartments looked nice! But when you start living in them you realize everything that happens here, the water pipes are breaking ALL the time and it is always during hours when people usually take showers! They want to give you fines and charges for anything and the apartments are not in the condition they pretend to be! I am just waiting for my contract to end so I can leave! I was 2 days without air conditioning and I had to pay a hotel fee and they were not responsible for that! read more

On my move in day, the carpet was dirty and clearly not cleaned or replaced. I notified the office in an email with some pictures. They responded with an apologetic letter very quickly with a promised to have it replaced that day. Sure enough it was replaced within a few hours of my initial email. Very happy with the staff's response, they are all friendly and seem to care. The apartment is great too, very nice area, close to everything. read more

This is the worst apartment ever stayed in and it keeps hunting me even when I don't live there anymore. Management I've seen here keeps getting worse over time. Black lady at the reception is naturally angry and no matter how nice you are, you'll hardly get any help. She'll prevent you from seeing the Manager, NIKOL who is your only option of getting any help. I'm a previous resident of this apartment and had my package mistakenly delivered at the address. They reluctantly helped me check their lockers after so much plea. Called carrier and Parcel pending company and they confirmed that the resident had picked up the package. I asked Leasing office for help in reaching out to their resident to give my package back but they will not. I cannot understand why a professional leasing office would find it hard to reach out a current resident if they picked up a package that is not theirs when there is proof and Package area has cameras Do not live here for your own good. read more

Been patient with the apartments since moving here, but today drew the line. First of the unit I'm in must have foundation issues because none of the doors seal properly air, sound and outside bugs come in, which I believe causes the utility bill to be a lot more than I've paid previous places. The window covers knock against the window when the wind blows all the time, and these are things I have put in several maintenance request about, but nothing has been done. Plus anytime it rains water enters the apartment from cracks in the door and cracks above the window that's tearing apart. I hear the neighbors' regular conversations up and down. I can tell what room my upstairs neighbors are in and hear every step they take. It's a nasty, smelly, unfinished repair property. I was attracted by the price but I guess you get what you pay for. Vomit has been in the entrance way of the for four days, hallways and garage always smell like piss and dog pop stays there for weeks. Dirty diapers and trash are something just get used to. Patience ran out today due to my cars being towed for being on the line( I was on the corner spot no one can park next to me and the other car was too close to open my door, small spaces but ok I just paid and got it out ) then I leave for work at 2PM so it sit my trash out and I'm fined $100 for setting my trash out early and I pay for valet trash pickup. I don't complain much but this property and personnel is trash. read more

I would give negative stars if that was an option. Spent the money on the application and Nikol could not care less to answer in a timely manner, be respectful or care to do her job. If the front office is bad business before even moving in then I wouldn't not waste my time applying or giving them your business. Update: No, none of my questions were "answered" you would have to answer the phone in a timely manner for that to happen. Nikol was rude, made me feel like I was bothering calling. I called on December 29 about 4-5 times because there is no answering machine and no one replies to emails so how am I to know if I'm getting a call back or thag anyone was receiving a call. When I finally got ahold of her she insisted she would return my call.. 4hrs went by I had to call again in which she "put me on hold" no, she hungup on me in which I called again and she got annoyed that I called again. Nikol stated she would help me with my question the following morning since they were closing soon (which granted would be fine if she hadn't ignored my calls all day) the following morning I received no call so again, I called her a couple of times to which she emailed me a VERY professional email stating "I called you back" DO NOT waste your time. read more

Zero stars. The management was so rude we decided to leave so never got a chance to view the property. The 2 ladies in the office never came out of their office to greet us. We were rudely told to have a seat and they would be with us. We asked one of the ladies could we use the restroom with she replied they did not have one. When we asked the other lady she said no public restroom, even though we were there to view an apartment. After waiting a few more minutes and no help we decided to leave. Within the two years that we've been here BOTH of our cars have been broken into multiple times. Someone was shot twice on separate occasions, one on our floor and the other time a person was murdered. A lot of drug activity goes on in these apartments. The hallways are always dirty and nasty. Squatters we're squatting a few doors down from our apartment. My tub starting leaking into my closet and ruined everything that was on the floor. The office staff is only there for a paycheck. They do not care won't even give eye contact when speaking with them. Since we've lived here, their has been several different people that work in the office. They have switched management companies and changed the named but these apartments have only gotten worse. This has been the worst living experience of my life.
