Professional and the cleaning process is excellent. Too bad they do not accept my insurance.

I recommend a longtime local dental office, Day Dental near GHS on 13th St. It's been there 40 years and doesn't have a big mortgage to pay off like the big fancy new dental you see on the westside. So no pressure getting $$$ extras. I recently got a tooth crown and experienced great results with no pain (my root was fine though, so no drilling for a post needed, and no pressure for that). The practice is currently held by Dr. Trapp, a skilled young man while the owning dentist Dr. Jennifer Day is on leave. I found him and his dental asst. to be excellent caregivers. read more

As a dental sissy who has avoided going to the dentist for too long, Dr Day was able to hear my whining and complaining and gladly gave me what i needed to relax. Everyone there is very knowledgeable and friendly about what is happening. While I don't have the best insurance in the world, Dr Days office has been very helpful to me in navigating my insurance company. I am midway through 6 procedures and while I hate the thought of the chair, its not because of them. Also, very good at applying anesthetic. no pain at all...not even a prick on the gums. I highly recommend this family practice. Both are highly skilled and experienced dentists. I should clarify this is a family business of dentists. Dr Day is the daughter of the other Dr Day. Everyone here is great, from the receptionists, the dental hygienists, the dental assistant to the dentists themselves. Both Dr Jen Day and Dr Ralph Day are great dentists who will put you at ease. I come here for regular cleanings, fillings when I need it and I had a crown put in after a root canal. The receptionists are very knowledgable about insurance matters and I never felt like I overpaid. I get the feeling that everyone who works there get along with each other and this makes the atmosphere very relaxing. They are not fancy, unlike some of the modern spa dental places but I like the atmosphere here and the feeling that I'm not being charged for piped Zen music and sounds of waterfall. The bonus is that they are right around the corner from my house! read more

Last week, I went to Day Dental for the first time. I am very fortunate to have found such a quality dental practice.I was changing dentists from another town. I believe that I met everyone who was in the office that afternoon and they were all really nice and attentive. Paige was my hygienist and was very thorough with my cleaning. I absolutely loved her technique which is also used by the other hygienist as well. My mouth felt great the next day. I then met with Dr. Jen who also was wonderful. My entire family is looking forward to a long relationship with Day Dental. We are so lucky to have found such a great practice! read more

If only my new dental plan allowed me to go back to Day Dental! ;( After getting taken for a ride and overcharged by another provider w/o even being treated (I'm looking at you Coast Dental on Newberry), I made sure to do my research to find a reputable and skilled provider in Guardian's Network. My search uncovered Day Dental, which received great reviews and well within driving distance of my apartment and the university. The staff was extremely polite and courteous both over the phone and in-person when I came into the office, and both the hygienist and doctor were kind, knowledgeable, and thorough. No charges for panoramic x-rays, no BS gum examination with bogus claims of possible gum disease, and no trying to sell me expansive products that I don't need. Oh, and no surprise bills in the mail because my insurance refused to pay for extras meant to extract as much money as possible from unsuspecting patients. The whole visit was covered and extremely pleasant! The only minor issue I had was finding the office initially. It's tucked away on the southbound side of 13th St, just before 16th Ave. read more

I love the Dr.s Day. They are so nice. I only regret that they are not on my current insurance. The father Dr. Day was the first dentist I ever saw in my entire life. Because of the positive experience I was not prepared for the bad experiences I have had with dentists since having to change from this practice. I found Ralph Day to be rough compared to all the other dentists I've had throughout 6 decades. My temporary crown (for my 5th crown) was put in incorrectly and i went though an entire bottle of ibuprofen in 10 days. I went in 10 days early and insisted they remove the temporary because of the pain. My gums were red and swollen and when the crown was removed, it was found that one side was too high and there was a small open sore underneath. I was told everything was great! They put the temporary back on and the permanent one went on ok 10 days later. I did not need one tylenol or ibuprofen with any of my other 4 crowns. I also thought Dr. Day was rough with the tooth in that he did not pull the temp off gently and said from the very beginning that the tooth would probably need a root canal and not be able to be saved. I did have to go to a P/T after the temporary was removed that first time to drain the swelling and help with lymph drainage, but we did save the tooth. Another $100 for the P/T -- and she practices in Sarasota so there was a whole day gone and another $100 in fuel costs.
