They were thorough although missed the antibiotic prescription that I was supposed to start taking before the procedure. They treat people terribly there. The care is mid grade and if they don't like you, they will simply fire you. Doctors should be taken care of patients and helping them . Never thought I would give a dentist 5 stars, but here we are. A little hard to find because Google sends you to the wrong parking lot. Other than that, I have nothing to complain about. In fact, this office goes above and beyond. The staff is friendly and helpful. You can tell they love working there. When you are in the chair, they ask if you want a blanket. How sweet is that?!? And you get to watch movies, right there in the chair! Now they don't take insurance. But it was only about $100 more for my extraction than it would have been at a less nice office that took my insurance. Dr. Williams is a bright ray of sunshine. He was really nice and comforting. And I gotta tell you, that tooth did not want to come out. He kept up a gentle patter, letting me know what he was doing. It was a good dental experience. Appointment 2/6/23 First of all, I thought I was seeing Dr. Parra, but I got some other dentist I can't remember the name of (female). The place is impeccably clean and staff is knowledgeable. This is not your regular dentist's office. Everything there is designed for maximum patient comfort. My appointment was for discussing different options and prices for implants. Premier advertises that this first info-gathering meeting is on them. I even called back once my appointment was made to verify this and was told the cost of it would be factored into the cost should I opt on getting work done there. So, on 2/6/23 I went and had the appointment. When they gave me the estimate for the cheapest type I was floored. I knew implants are expensive but that was over-the-top ridiculously high. So I thanked her for her time and told her I'd have to discuss it with my family as it's 100% out of pocket. She kept pushing me to go ahead and commit to the estimate. Then I was led into some sort of billing office. That's when I got nervous. She printed something and told me the charge for that day was $700. I lost it! I told her absolutely not as I had called and verified the first appointment was as stated above. She seemed to get a bit nervous. To her credit, I suppose, she wasn't the same person I spoke to on the phone. Anyway, I'm going to be taking my business elsewhere. My wife got a root canal done here less than two years ago and recently found out that it wasn't done correctly and it was infected. She called to complain about the hack job she received and the receptionist rudely let her know the practice would not be doing anything for her to make it better or even check it out! She left a poor review and was later contacted by Dr. Art Mowery to come in and check out what happened. In good faith, she made time out of her day to go to the office and meet with him where Dr. Mowery proceeded to BULLY her and YELL AT HER about the review she left, to the point of her leaving the practice in TEARS!! I recently moved to Gainsville and was in need of a dentist. My standards are high since I worked as a dental assistant many years ago. Exceptional dentistry was recommended to me by two long time patients. The new office location is much larger and easier to access from Newberry Road. When you enter the office you see the incredible design talents of the Mowery's. They made quite an investment in the office and designing it for functionality and comfort. You wouldn't even know your in a dentist waiting room. They took me in right away and developed a dental plan both short term and long term. My insurance was ending in two days and they were able to squeeze me in over a two day period to finish a deep cleaning. This allowed me to get my insurance reimbursement before the insurance ran out. Everyone was helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this dentist and think the two Dr. Mowery's missed their calling as office designers! read more

Really disappointed by the quality of care provided by "Dr" Art Mowery. Went in for a crown and within 2 weeks was in crippling pain because it had started to come loose already! Politely contacted Mr. Mowery's office to provide an opportunity to fix the poor quality work, and he refused to do any additional work on it without charging the full price AGAIN. Ended up having to just go to another dentist to have it fixed and get out of pain, and paying full price since Mr. Mowery had his lawyer's bully me out of attempting to resolve this in court. read more

So, my review is going to be kind of long. Maybe TMI on my TMJD. But you've been warned, and just so you know...your mileage may vary. I'm only 24 years old, but I've had TMJD my whole life. It's a jaw condition which causes chronic jaw pain and popping in and out of the temporomandibular joint such that the pain only gets worse with time as the stuff around that joint gets worn out. I told Dr. Kim Mowery, Lindsey, and the team in general that they'd be my own personal heroes if they could crack my case. I'm part of University of FL's OPPERA TMJD study and have visited Dr. Storoe, a TMJD specialist in town who comes from a maxillofacial surgery background. Both to no avail (well, Dr. Storoe prescribed a muscle relaxant called Flexeril, but this is a temporary fix). I was pretty sure I was a lost cause. After about 2 hours of TENS (subcutaneous neuromuscular stimulation) and a temporary orthotic splint that was fitted according to the TENS results (ie TENS allows your muscles to stop spasming and so your jaw relaxes into a better position...the orthotic split is worn daily to ensure your jaw stays in that good position) I am healing quickly! It's been only 2 weeks, but no more headaches from TMJD...after ~23 years of abuse, my jaw is recovering expediently. I'm in shock and awe and, dare I say, slack jawed! The office is even helping me out with the payments for the permanent orthotic splint after I had work done on my crowns. The material they used was expensive, but after doing some independent research, completely worth it. The porcelain will last a long time. I even had a $160 credit on my account because they didn't have to do some expected work on one of the crowns. That's honesty! I would've never known the difference had they not credited it back. The crowns were done by Dr. Revels, and the TMJD work by Dr. Kim Mowery. This dentist's office has experts to cover all of your dental needs...I highly recommend! They'll leave you slack jawed in amazement at the quality. read more

The appointment took 3 hours the assistants that started the appointment were nice and friendly however when the dentist finally came in at the end of the appointment to basically say he couldn't do anything he was rude to my son and very condescending to me. Read this....all of this... After leaving the nest and moving to North Florida from Miami I struggled to find a good dentist. Many of the local name brand dentists that I visited were more concerned with profit than the welfare of the client (me). Paying a higher price for a service isn't bad as long as I am given a higher caliber of service. Needless to say I found a very nice local dentist who offered very affordable rates for his service. At his office his chairs are lined up side by side and when it's your turn he always greeted me with a smile, a hand shake, and made me feel comfortable which means a lot being that I have suffered with severe anxiety since I was 15....I am now 40. My last visit I received a crown. After the visit I had severe jaw pain which I attributed to my TMJ. I returned to his office 3 times complaining of this pain and each time he worked on shaping my crown a little more and told me to take Advil and Ice my face. Eventually he told me that I might need braces. For the next month and three weeks I was taking 4 Advils a day three times a day. I went to an acupuncturist and massage therapy weekly, my family physician, and a physical therapist and nothing was working. The pain was so bad that I could no longer eat most foods, exercise, ride my motorcycle, and my quality of life was horrible. My mother suggested calling another dentist. By this time I was truly convinced that nothing was going to fix my issue and this was something I would have to learn to deal with. I have never taken so many pain pills in my life. I read through some reviews and decided to call Exceptional Dentistry. By the time I called I reached Tammy on the phone and Im not sure how she understood me because I was crying and sobbing so hard on the phone. I am a grown man...3 daughters...loaded with tattoos....with an ex wife....so it takes quite a lot to make me cry. She got me in immedietly to which I thought would be another waste of time. When I got there they had to give me an Ice pack because I was in so much pain. I was called back immediately...no long waits...any time I've been there. The couches in the waiting room are a nice touch but strictly for aesthetics because obviously they judge their time wisely. My first appointment the nurses and Dr. Kim Mowery spent almost 4 hours with me. (Please re-read that) To quickly summarize my appointment they found the issue within the first 30 minutes I was there....between eating my smoothie they made me and watching a documentary about Queen on Netflix. The crown that I previously got was severely infected which was causing the pain in my lower jaw. Had my previous Dr. did ex-rays after the procedure during the three times I came back complaining of pain I wouldn't be writing this review. I got exactly what I paid for from My previous Dr. And exactly what I paid for from Exceptional Dentistry. I was given a plan with options on how to treat the issue and set the first available appointment a few days later. Unfortunately I had to have the tooth extracted and I chose to get an implant because lets face it I don't want to look like a fan at a Willie Nelson concert. I went back to Exceptional Dentistry yesterday to have my tooth extracted and get a bone graph for the implant. I was a wreck walking in the door. Fortunately for me the business looks like a day spa and the staff is unreal. Two of the nurses walked me back to my private room where the three of us watched Fixer Upper on Netflix while Dr. Kim got ready. Words cannot express how Dr. Kim gave me the same guidance, affection, and care that I expect from my own Wife and Mother....to someone who gets a lot of treatment for anxiety that meant the world. We chatted and joked while she put the IV in and then I asked If I could listed to my headphones as I went to sleep. (Side note: All The Time by The Bahamas...Best iv sedation song ever) The next thing I kind of remember was walking out with another amazing smoothie (no bleeding or gauze in my mouth) and then being home where my wife was yelling at me because I kept trying to climb the stairs to my bonus room to watch tv. (She won...I was stuck on the couch for a few hours) I have no recollection of that tooth coming out or the bone graph. I will never get major dental work again without IV sedation....why go through that?! Crowns, implants, family functions....knock me out! No side effects....nothing! Today is the day after....from the time I left the office until now my pain is gone! ZERO! Im not even sure if saying mild discomfort is right....I'm not saying I won't get some mild discomfort...I had a tooth pulled and a bone graph and I feel great compared to how I felt before. My daughter brought home some idiot boy the other day for us to meet....thats giving me more discomfort. (Sorry I had to throw that in) Best Dentist Ever!! read more

Until today, I was not a patient. I called for an emergency extraction and was contacted by Tammy. I made a same day appointment and I can't even begin to express how absolutely wonderful the staff was to me. I was already apprehensive; I have a low tolerance for pain and began crying as soon as I walked through the door. The pain was horrendous and my fear was almost as bad. From the moment I walked in, the staff took care of me from calming me to explaining the entire procedure to pulling my tooth pain free! Kelly and Dr. Revels were a great team who worked on me and I just thank God they were there for me! I would most definitely recommend this business to ANYONE who needs a good dentist! I've had some hygienists be a little short during the appointment but this was very thorough and she explained things that I wasn't doing properly on a day to day basis and things that I can do to get better. I won't go to a cosmetic dentist again. They make you take the humiliating "before" picture as soon as you sit down. Also, they make you think something is wrong with you so that you need a thousand dollar mouthguard. But I think that's just a trick.
